From calling to scheduling and the work itself - everything from West Side Drain was perfect. I've been having an issue in my house for about 6 years - I've been feeling mold exposed in my kitchen even though we clean the p-trap and use enzymes. Wyatt came today to do a full house clean out (all drains) and to hydro jet the sewer line. He found a huge glob of goo (animal fat and food particles) in the clean out under the kitchen sink - a place we wouldn't be able to clean without special tools. I'm sure this is the culprit of my mold exposure and I am so glad it's gone! Wyatt was very professional and friendly and didn't mind me asking a bunch of nerdy questions. These guys came through again! We had them pump our septic tank in 2020 and today we realized that something was wrong. The pump had failed (it was the original pump from 1990) They pumped the tank and had all of the needed parts for completing the job in one day. read more

So Saterday morning our sump pumps died. We found out by hearing the high water in the sump alarm. Called one place was way too expensive. Partner called West Side the next morning and they got us on the schedule for Tuesday. That was fine we had a stop gap pump going. 3 hrs work and a trip to Ace and both pumps replaced and tested for a fraction of the price of the first estimate. They also do maintenance so we can have them checked out next year. 100% recommend these guys! read more

They told us it would cost $600 to pump our septic system. That seemed sensible and they were very prompt with scheduling. When they arrived they couldn't find the pump out location, so they left... but not before charging us $315 for a 'truck fee' which is the first we had heard of such a fee. I feel robbed. EDIT: The owner called me after the fact and was very kind and reasonable. Since the $315 wasn't previously agreed on, he is refunding that. While a little more clarity before hand would have avoided this issue, the resolution was excellent and full of empathy. read more

My alarm went on, so I called the phone number on the panel, they were too busy and referred me to another company, this company referred me to west side drain. Quick scheduling and a minimum fee $495. A young man came for over an hour and said everything was fine, for further diagnosis we should connect the panel to the network of the manufacturer. I asked him whether the alarm would ring again. He said this should be fine. One day later, Thalarm went on again. We called the manufacturer and they said the service company should have device that could connect to the panel for diagnosis, no need to connect to the network to the manufacturer. So we called another service company, they came and found out that the filter was blocked. They fixed that problem. And the alarm stopped ringing. They only charged half of what west side Drain did. Update on 10/21, the owner is responsible and contacted me to issue a full refund, so I modified the rating. read more

I set up an appointment to have septic pumped. They gave me the option for a riser, which I ultimately decided to do. They dug up the yard to get to the septic tank, but the incoming water line placement prevented them from adding the riser. They told me I needed to get the water line moved out of the way, so I had a plumber put in an extension to move the water line out of the way of the riser. They came back, and said they didn't like the fitting the plumber used, and refused to fill it. I was told that I needed another fitting, and when I asked 'What do you need to see there,' the only answer was, 'Not that fitting.' It took several weeks to get them to come out and fix the riser, which was not level, and to fill the hole. Although I offered to take responsibility for the water line if it failed, they wanted a letter from my contractor. Apparently my authority as a home owner was not enough. Ultimately, they filled in the hole, but demolished the sod during this process. They left a bunch of rocks all over the yard, including under a Japanese maple, that I couldn't see, so when mowing ruined the blades on my new mower. Would not recommend these guys. read more

I spoke to Dave, the owner, and he seemed genuinely apologetic. He sent out another employee, Justin, to fix the pipe that had been damage and issued a partial refund for the services mentioned below. Justin was very thorough and spent a considerable amount of time fixing and testing the new pipe and connections he installed. With all the new fittings, including rubber couplings, I am not sure it is as strong as the original pipe, but both Dave and Justin seemed to do their best to resolve a bad situation. read more

Do not use these guys for service! They overcharge by at least double!. I received an invoice for over $1000.00 to do a repair on a pump. Two guys showed up to do the work, one guy stood around while the other one did the repair which took less then an hour. When I asked for an itemized breakdown for the repair I was told they don't bill that way. The model on the replaced part costs about $200.00 online. I called three other plumbing companies who service the same pump, Zoeller, and they came back with a bid around $325.00 - $400.00 including trip charge. I was also told over the phone the repair would be around $700.00 and needed to get the repair done right away. I questioned the repair after they billed my credit card afterwards for over a grand. read more

I have a downspout that would go into the piece into the ground and then the piece in the ground would flood over. And then it would stop flooding and then rhythmically flood over again. So clearly I had a problem. With the threat of more rain coming as we are still in February I wanted to take care of it sooner than later before my yard flooded or worse. I called West side drain and talk to Justin. He came out today he was very professional, informative, he listened to me which was really important being a woman a lot of times you don't get heard. Justin found the pipe that was clogged found where it came out at the street as well. He then went out of his way to dig it out the area where the pipe was clogged at the street so there was a flow and recommended that I continue that process so that this doesn't happen in the future. He was soaked and muddy and wet and had to be very cold yet he had a really great attitude and really seem concerned that my problem was solved. Also when I called for a quote they were able to quote me an The bottom line rate on the phone based on the description of my problem. So I had an idea going into it about ish what it may cost.He got all of this done in an hour. I would highly recommend this company. I got an appointment within the same week I called and the person I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable over the phone. They also overcharged me by 3X the cost after i compared their invocie to other plumbers. Each time they have come when promised, communicated well about their service and prices, and have very reasonable rates. Not impressed. I was charged almost $300 for tech to come out and blow hp water in both ends of rain drain between street and house. Tech then said he could not get through it and I asked what the next step was. He said he could put a camera down the drain for $195. I gracefully declined, went down to Home Depot, rented a mini rooter and cleared the drain in about an hour for $35. Like the old saying goes, if you need it done right, do it yourself. read more

I don't even want to give them one star. I used this company 5 years ago when Victor worked there and he was wonderful to work with and I was extremely happy with the level of customer service I received. Since he left the customer service has gone downhill. A few months ago West Side called me to say it had been 5 years since my last septic service and offered to come out and pump it. I told them I would call them back later to schedule. When I did I got no answer and had to leave a message. They never called me back. A few months later I decided to try again. They scheduled me for a 5pm appointment the following week. I made sure someone would be home to meet them. Around 5:45pm no one had shown up or called to say they were running late. I called them to ask if they were still coming. The guy I spoke to wasn't sure where the guy was or when they would be there and said he would have someone call to let us know. I did not receive a call until almost 7pm saying they would not be able to be there until around 8pm. They showed up around 8:10pm and finished the job at 9:25pm. I was told I would receive a 5% discount for paying by cash, or have to pay 5% fee for credit card. I told him I was writing a check and he told me I would not receive the 5% discount. Since when is a check not the same as cash? After inconveniencing my entire evening by showing up 3 hours late to do the job the very least they could have done was give us the 5% discount. I will never use this company again, they have lost a customer over $33 and poor customer service. Not to mention I could have gone with another company that would have charged me $60 less! I work in real estate and have always recommended West Side Drain since my interactions with them had been previously pleasant. I will not be recommending them anymore. read more
