Unpleaseant receptionist and very young mechanics. Recently had my Forester in for an overdue maintenance. A number of lights not repaired, but apparently they all failed at the same time a few weeks later ??? Obviously did not check the alternator which must have been on its last days IF checked. It is now in another shop for replacement....engine filthy with no attempt to provide basic wipe down that usually showed the area had been inspected for problems. Charged me $600 for very shoddy work and 3.5 weeks later the alternator was toast and battery very low. Receptionist? Hey lady, we checked everything 3.5 well ago and all was working well...how should we guess the alternator was failing...you mean by checking the battery and the alternator? Guy at the desk says NO Potential Problems when they did a "full regular check up" but the shop now replacing the alternator has found a number of basic things overdue for repair ..again the car" just happened to need more work" after the $600. bill ? Ive been using Deckers for 10 years and had nothing but EXCELLENT SURVICE and a great neighbourhood shop that was recommended by my neighbour when we moved to Burnaby. Head mechanic quit when the staff turnover happened and I'm doing the same. Zero Customer Satisfaction. This shop has been repeatedly targeted over the last few months by theft attempts so reception agrees it's not safe to leave your keys overnights / just get it in ASAP in the morning. Once the " regular maintenance at $600." was completed, all at the unhappy parts formed a complaints union but they took too long ( 3.5 weeks) to figure out who was on the committee so it's all their fault nothing will be done at the shop to bring service up to normal expectations. SUV must have really enjoyed the time off from it's usual hard driving within a 15 mile range from our house to : dog food store in East Burnaby: to Byrne Road Park ( 8 minute drive from our house) : to go for a long daily dog walk, stopping on the way there or back at Save On for groceries. We avoided Covid like the Plague it is so virtual NO trips anywhe Warning : beware shops who don't guarantee their inspections and work for even one full week. How the Mighty have Fallen is the now the warning! I am a full time caretaker wife with zero car knowledge . The good news is that I can now tell the Alternator from the battery and how to open the front hood and I know thanks to BCAA tow truck mechanics, that the little front warning red battery sign means " it the Alternato Lady, Not your Battery ‍! Yes its tired, but you can replace it after you get the new Alternator. It's not Brain Surgery. Anyone with a great shop in the South Burnaby area willing to share yours ?

I have had my Mitsubishi' brakes fixed somewhere else which they were not good enough to replace the brakes perfectly. Therefore, my car's engine light and a bunch of other lights have been remained on. Mahmoud, with his best knowledge, found the origin of the problem and got it fixed. Came here to get some suspension work done, on the recommendation of a friend…read more Parking is available in front of the building, but this can fill up. The owner/manager Danny (super chill and easy going guy) took care of me from the beginning. Usually I'm a bit edgy about trusting shops (including dealerships) as they've messed things up in my car before, but Danny was open when I mentioned the model-specific quirks for repairing my suspension. The other guys in the shop are easy going and friendly as well. I was able to guide them through the repair as the critical "quirky" parts of the procedures came up, and they were receptive. Very special mention for this, as most shops often have the "I know more than you do" attitude, followed by the "oh, I didn't know this repair for your car is different from other models, think I broke something" garbage. The entire shop is quite easy going, and there are cars going into and out of this place all the time. As a result, the work may take a bit longer, as the crew are switching back and forth between vehicles. But they have a nice lounge with Netflix, which kept me entertained. I also saw them offer other customers a lift to somewhere nearby such as Metropolis so they wouldn't be stuck at the shop for a few hours. During my repair, Danny even pointed out some failed components I didn't even know had broken. A quick call to the dealer to order parts, and I was back the next day. This repair took a while, but the shop was busy that day and I knew they were squeezing me in as a courtesy. No complaints. When the alignment was slightly off (common if the suspension isn't fully settled) after I picked up the car, Danny took the car right back in, no questions asked. He even took me around for a test drive so he could see the problem for himself. The price for replacing 4 controls arms, inner tie rod, and subsequent 4-wheel alignment(s) came to under $300 - almost too low, to be honest. Let's see the dealer do this work for under $1000. My suspension is now buttery smooth, and this shop has earned itself a loyal customer. Highly recommended.
