I left the car for winter tire change at their NorthVan locaiton. One of KalTire trucks scraped the side of my car! Driver just took off. No apology, nothing from their transpo division. Instead, the opposite, I was getting attitude from a person when asking them to submit their claim to ICBC. It's been a bad experience all around. I dropped some loose tires/rims off and was pleasantly surprised when they phoned me with an early install time, but took an hour and half to just remove and install . They forgot to install my lock nuts and left the sealant lube on my new tires/rims. I should have waited for the cache creek location they rock up there! north van a little lazy.. read more

I'm another customer grand-fathered from Urban Garage. They kept my summer wheels through rebranding, COVID, and me being sick for another year. I thought the wheels are lost for sure, but they found them, got in touch with me, and all is good. I finally got around to replace the summers. There was a bit of mix-up in tire ordering (all-seasons got brought in instead of summers), but everything was resolved fast, without problems, and at no cost to me. Got a low-pressure warning in my vehicle, spouse suggested taking it to get it inspected. This was the closest location to us at the time (traveling from the US), we stopped on in, tech quickly found a nail in the rear right tire. Scheduled an appointment later that day, repair took reasonable amount of time, and was priced right. Couldn't help but notice the courtesy extended to myself and other customers while waiting for a repair. Opened a door for an older lady, tried to fit in many customers into ad-hoc openings (that day had a number of tire repair inquiries). Would recommend again. read more

Two other Kal Tire dealers were not very good about confirming whether or not they could help me and left me on hold on the phone for over 10 minutes each!!! I finally hung up and visited this location the next day, driving in to see if they had time for me. They came to the rescue again! They got my vehicle right away, fixed the leak and got me back on the road in about 40 mins!!! And the charge was very small too! Thank you Kal Tire! I have been taking my car to them for tire change over for the past three years and it always takes 45 min with advanced online booking. Last time, when I dropped off my car, there was new guy, Mario, and he told me it takes 90 min! When I complained that I had plans afterwards and have to get my car in 60min, he was very unsympathetic! Later I found out that they were busy and overbooked. Why not just be honest and apologize for running behind instead of insisting that this is the norm? I had to return the following week for the same service, booked online again. Interestingly, the calendar reminder that they send you is for 60 min only. I had an appointment but had to stand in line up for 20 min as other people without appointment walked in before me. What is the point of having an appointment? I overheard one of their staff saying to another customer that change over takes 45 to 60 min. When it was my turn, I got Mario again who of course recognized me and told me it will take 90 min. My car was ready in 45min as always. I will never take my car to them again! read more

I went here to buy new tires. But . . . . not a good place for women. A young sales clerk (I'm mature) talked down to me. Didn't listen. Tried to sell me what I didn't need. Didn't keep me on board. On vacation in Vancouver, drove from Southern California. Noticed an air leak in my right rear tire while in Oregon. Refilled it, drove on. Arrived in Vancouver, tire pressure light went off. 6lbs low. Refilled and made it to hotel. Checked online for nearest Firestone and found Kal Tire right around the corner on Marine Drive from Best Western where I was staying. Brought it in Thursday morning as they opened, Scott helped set me up for a check and repair. Said about half an hour. Scott was spot on. Got the call, found a nail in my tire. Patched the hole, air pressure check good to go. Picked up the car, no charge. Asked to bring it back for a torque check later that day. I did, done in minutes. For a traveler away from home finding a professional source for a car related repair is priceless. Would recommend Kal Tire for all your tire service needs. When you get great service and VALUE ..then its time to share the news...in my case I have a Mercedes Kompressor with some front end issues and she needed an alignment ..I took the vehicle to three shops who specialize in alignments ...three estimates for three different repairs ..the prices ranged from $644.00 to $1400.00..so I took it to my trusted KAL TIRE AUTO REPAIR in North Vancouver There was lots of talk about control arms upper lower front ...I needed an honest answer. They found the TRUE problem Which was one lower front control arm and bushings but not four or three or even two like the place across the street told me . AFTER they aligned my car, they also replaced a light bulb ,filled my power steering fluid, added coolant 'on the house' and all the repairs and parts came to only $399.00 KUDOS to all the tech's ,mechanics and service men in the front of house. I had my pickup truck tire repaired. It had a slow leak. No biggie, so why the 5 stars? Because, I had a wheel barrow in the back of my truck with a flat tire and I was just going to take it to the dump. They actually repaired it for free without asking and THEY EVEN CLEANED IT AND MADE IT SHINY!! It was the best looking part of my wheel barrow. Wish I could give this Kal Tire location more than 5 stars! I had an almost- too- flat- to- drive- on tire at 5:15 pm on Saturday and needed my car to get to work. I called ahead and asked them if they could stay open for me & fix my tire while I waited. They were waiting for me when I arrived 10 mins later, took the screw out of my tire and had the whole thing fixed and back on my car in less than 10 minutes! I wasn't even late for work. And, they wouldn't accept payment! Keep in mind this was at closing time on a Saturday!! Great, great service. Sorry to burst the bubble of the great review because my experience was not so great. Made an appointment to have the tires rotated (part of the deal when you buy tires with them) and was told, when I called to check, it would take about 45 minutes. I was on time and parked the car out front. After 35 minutes the car had not moved. When I asked what was happening, I was told that they are just waiting for a bay and would have it done in no time. After 50 minutes the car had still not moved. I was told there was still not a bay and I realized that I couldn't wait any longer. No apologies from them, just a suggestion to make another appointment. They had multiple opportunities to let me know things were backed up rather than have me waste my time waiting around. VERY reluctant to book another 'appointment' which they may or may not keep. Next set of tires will be bought elsewhere. read more

Just another day, walked outside to jump in my trustee car and head to work and unfortunately was greeted with a flat tire. Luckily I have a spare, so I changed it, with some herculean effort and phoned Kal Tire to inquire about wait time, pricing etc.. He said it would be about an hour and $25! Can't beat that price, I've had the same kind of repair done at Integra Tire and they charged $60... They got me in right away, repaired the the tire within 30 min. The culprit turned out to be a screw, gotta love the never ending construction sites EVERYWHERE. And to top off the wonderful and courteous service, it was all done FREE of charge :) My car will be due for new tires pretty soon and this mornings experiences guarantees I will be back. I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Brought my car in to get an alignment done because I needed it done for ICBC. First appointment they let me know I needed new tires before I could do an alignment because they were below the limit where they would certify the work. The car is so old, it wasn't worth getting new tires, but in the end we worked it all out, set up a second appointment and got the alignment done. Car drives much better now. Overall the customer service was absolutely awesome. The bald guy (sorry, don't remember your name!) was so incredibly helpful and understanding and helped me work through the whole process and made sure the spec sheet had everything ICBC needed. Will definitely be coming back here for any future tire work that I need done. read more

I came in with a flat tire because of a nail and I needed it repaired. They looked at my tire and and then showed me I actually had 3 nails in one tire and i need a new tire. Funny thing is I checked my tire before I went there and only one nail was in it and they insisted I buy 4 new tires and throw away all 4 of my 80% new tires (if i gave my newish tires most likely they will sell it as used) They said its against the law to fix a tire with 3 nails, this is true but seriously they can check to see if they all went right through. I took my car from them and instead got it fixed at Walmart. The mechanic at Walmart told me only one nail actually made it through. Watch out for these Kal tire guys in North Vancouver they will lie to your face and try to sell you overpriced tires. read more

I don't usually post a review,but in this case I can't help myself. I had a large bolt in my tire that was making an annoying noise when I drove. I came into Kal tire without an appointment at 8:00 am. I wasn't sure if I would just be given an appointment time to come back. Dave took a look immediately and showed me that the tire was leaking. Kal tire then drove the car to the lifts and fixed the tire right then. In twenty minutes I was on my way and the best part...no charge! I will be coming back for all my tire needs in the future... read more

A total rip off. I just saved over $2,000 by taking my car to another place and on top of it they broke a small detailing frame on the front of my car, and tried to hide it by gluing it back on and didn't even tell me. I will never go to this place again and highly recommend you find somewhere else too. read more
