I had my tires (lovely summer tires) swapped out at Big O on a Friday, parked my car and had a flat tire by Monday. I didn't realize it till I was on the road, but happily I live close to Big O so took it there. The tall white haired man was helpful, had someone put on the spare and ordered a new one. He suggested that we split the cost as clearly It had something to do with the install. However when the tire was in, I had the misfortune of dealing with the grumpy squat guy that usually works the desk. He refused to discuss the issue and charged me the full $250+. I now recommend looking at other tire shops - shops that give the customer some kind of guarantee. I have been going to Big O for over 5 years and slowly seen it deteriorate in customer service and quality while getting charged more each year. read more

We have repaired the flat tire a couple of times and the service provided has been good. However, after December 6, 2023, the service quality does not seem to be the same. On December 6, 2023, at around 3:30pm, we dropped off the car to fix a flat tire after that flat tire had been repaired before. When the technician tried to put back the wheel lock, they broke the wheel stud by turning at a wrong angle. The technician then reported this to Michael who reported it to the assistant manager, Brock, who apologized for the mistake and subsequently asked me to repair the wheel at the dealership. Therefore, the next day, I went to the dealership to repair it which cost $200 to repair. The Lexus technician there informed me that the reason behind this incident was because the lung nut was installed incorrectly due to the wrong angle that it was installed in. Therefore, we talked to Big O Tire to pay back the damage cost, but the assistant, Manager Brock Lennox, told me that it was a previous problem that was already present before repairing the flat tire and refused to pay. We tried to talk to the current owner Patrick, but Brock said that he retired and that he is the only one who can talk to us about it at the shop. I hope someone can reply to this email regarding some feedback as it does not seem improbable that a company can only be run by an assistant manager. read more

When it snows, the lineup is out the door and turn around. Very long line up. So came here because we were unlucky to have a screw poked into the tire. The cost to remove the screw and fill it is $35. They have to take off the tire to do it. They were very honest. They took the tire off and took the nail out. They told me the nail was not long and the tire is fine. So they did not charge me. I did see them double check to make sure the tire is not leaking. Honesty go a long way. I highly recommend them. Nov 12, 2021 I had the worst customer service experience of my life today at Big O Tires on W. Broadway. To provide some context, earlier in the week I brought my car in to get my winter tires installed, which they did without a hitch. However, the next day one of the tires was flat so I stopped by their shop to have them take a look. They didn't have space to put the car up to examine the tire so they filled the tire with air and said to come back in the morning if the tire went flat again (actually the day after due to the next morning being a holiday and they were closed). The tire indeed went flat overnight and I had to get it towed to the Big O shop on the holiday. I wasn't with the tow truck when they delivered the car to the shop, so I didn't see where they left it, which happened to be to the right of one of their parking garage entrances. When I arrived this morning at the shop I saw that my car was "first in line" as it was closest to the garage doors; however, it wasn't directly in front of the garage door, and it needed to be moved so that the tire racks could be relocated outside. It was at this point that I heard several employees start cursing (F* this, F*that) and when I explained why my car was not located directly in front of the garage door because that's where the tow truck left it, they (at least two of the employees) shouted with invective and further expletives ("...Move your F*ng car!!"). After this tirade of verbal abuse, the driver of the car parked next to (and slightly behind) me generously offered to move his car back so that I could go in front of him (after hearing me say that I had the car towed there the day before). As he started moving his car back and I began repositioning my car, one of the employees lashed out again with "move your f*ng car!" even though it was obvious that we were in the process of rearranging vehicles. Once the car was in the garage, I was served by a more respectable employee who explained why the tire was losing air and what was necessary to repair it. All in all, I have never encountered such unprofessional and debased communication from employees of a public business toward a customer. If this encounter had been videorecorded and posted on social media I can say with confidence that it would have been shocking and appalling to anyone with decency. Needless to say, I will never be returning to Big O tire shops again! read more

The person on the phone said they didn't have the "book" for my car and couldn't look up my tire size; they couldn't price a tire out for me or know which one to order in. I'm very surprised that a tire shop wouldn't take the time to look up a tire size so they can price me tires.. Really disappointed since there were so many great reviews for this place. read more

I had a flat tire, I have a new truck ordered and wanted to fix the tire. With the tread in poor condition they wouldn't fix the tire, which is ok. so I wanted to replace all 4 truck tires, about $2500 worth of tires. He would not do a temp repair or put on the spare. When I objected he told me to leave the store using f bombs and other foul Language. I have been a customer for 20 years. NEVER again. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We had a nail in the tire and took the car there. Older man? barely communicated. whispering something like come back shortly and be patient. We asked if we could leave the car in the parking spot as there was no other car there. A gruff "no" Came back and got in after 50 minutes. Another guy also gruff, growls you need to change the front tires so they all match;. Man, I felt like I was on another planet! Rude, unhelpful, surly. Not a smile anywhere They did get the job done. But with that service I wont be changing my tires there anytime! I dont think they like women - (husband was treated nicer when he took his car in) and he was wearing a suit. I used to go to this place to get my tires fixed everytime I had punctured tires, first time being in 2007. Back in 2007, service was great but it has declined since. Nothing but grumpy old men work here. I had always gone to Fountain tire to get my winter tires installed but decided to give these guys a try although I knew they were a little bit more expensive. Called them the day before and asked if I needed to make an appointment and was told that I can just pop by anytime before 4pm and they should be able to do it. Got there at 3:40 and was told they could not do it as they did not have enough workers and that I should come back the next day. Well, I will not be going back and will go to another place that provides better, reliable service. read more

I had a flat tire on my 2015 Mazda CX-5 and was riding on the spare. Went to OK Tire the next day, first thing at 8 am, but was told they could MAYBE have it done by noon as they were full with appointments. Drove over to Big O, was first in line for their 8:30 opening and was out by 8:45. The service was great, the information accurate (didn't push me to buy a new set and told me I should watch for promotions and buy new ones before next winter), and the atmosphere between the staff themselves very relaxed and respectful. New manager had no idea on policies of previous manager & refused to honour free tire rotation previously included with tire purchase. This used to be a great shop, but is now one to be avoided. read more

I only destroy a tire every few years, but every time it has happened the guys at Big O have been as helpful as can be. They have patched me up for super cheap when that was all I needed, and they have come up with reasonable replacement prices when a new tire was required. Best of all, they have always managed to fit me in within the hour -- today, I was in and out with two new tires within 30 minutes! read more

I have never left a review on Yelp... but these guys deserve it! It was the most amazing experience I have ever had at any service place. Everything was easy and people communicated what was going on so I didn't feel like I wasn't understanding. We went in with a leaky tire that already had been repaired at a different place. In no time they took the tire off and were working on it. They explained that they could see where the other guy tried to patch it but did a bad job. So they fixed it and had us on our way in no time! It really was amazing! I have a hard time at places like this because I always feel like I can get taking advantage of because I have no clue what's going on and they normally don't want to talk to women and explain stuff, so when I came here and had such a good experience I felt that I had to share! Recently, had them remove my summer tires. Told them the winter tires had to be installed in a certain order due to the fact...two of the rims being smaller than the others. I went into pay came back out was told car ready to go. When leaving hear a loud grinding noise. The wheels had not been installed correctly and the rims were grinding on the brake calipers. Wasn't a happy camper. Service people blamed me for not having standardized wheel rims. Manager was indifferent. Extremely poor service. I would never let them touch my car again. They don't listen and are totally incompetent in doing a simple job of installing tires. read more

This is the first time I have done an online review of anything, but I felt I had to share the incredible customer service I received from Big O Tires on Broadway. As the first snowfall of the season is forecast to hit Vancouver in a couple of days all of the tire shops are insanely busy. I hauled my snow tires out of storage and threw one that was flat in the back of my car to have it fixed. I didn't expect same day service. I just wanted to drop it off and pick it up when it was ready. I first stopped at Kal Tire on Arbutus and the guy there told me that he couldn't do it for a couple of days. Fine I said, I will just leave it here and you can call me when it's ready. No, he said, they were too busy, I'd have to come back on Monday. I said, I don't think you understand, I don't expect you to fix the tire today, but I have it with me now and I'd just like to drop it off. He told me again to come back on Monday. So, I drove over to Big O Tires. I walked into a very busy garage, put the tire down out of everyone's way and went into the office to ask if I could leave the tire to be fixed in the next couple of days. Jeff Miller said yes, that would be fine. While I was talking to him, some other guy grabbed the tire and started the repair. Ten minutes later, I walked out of there with my fixed tire and a quote for a new set of snow tires for my SUV. That's $1400 that Kal Tire will never see. read more

A great little drive-through tire place. You can bring your own, drop in without an appointment, and half an hour later your car is re-shoed. If you need a summer / winter tire swap and already have the rubber, this is the place to do it. Reasonable prices, no complaints where service is concerned. read more

Be cautious about going there they forget to tighten the lug nuts on the tires.. I nearly lost a tire twice and a friend who went there did and suffered major damage to his car... If you do decide to go you MUST re-check the tighness of the tire nuts if you value your life or the life of your loved ones... Personally I will never go there again.... read more

These guys are great. I had a flat and put the donut on my old subaru, then hit a huge pothole and totalled the donut coming to the shop. All my tires were extra old so I wanted 4 new ones. They installed them fast at a decent price, were very careful with my car (despite it being so beat up you'd think it was purchased from a junkyard) and charged me nothing for labor, including beating the daylights out of the rim of my donut to get it to hold air again. Beware! I went in to swap winter tires out for my summers. The worker there told me that the tires are worn and he would recommend replacing them, he has some that are not expensive. I told him it was fine for another season. I know this because I had taken my car for service at the dealership before the winter and I was informed at that time that my summers were fine. He said ok and his team started taking my tires off. He tries again to convince me that my tread is worn and I could hydroplate in this weather. He tells me its an easy job and that he would give me a good price and again I tell him my tread is fine. He then looked around at his co-workers and tells me "your tires are not fine, you can't drive on them", and he refused do anything for me except sell me tires. I had enough, I told him to put my winter tires back on and I'll take my car somewhere else. I took my car to Canadian Tire and they swapped my tires out. They tell me that I have 5mm of tread on the back and 7mm in the front which is completely acceptable to drive on. Steer clear of Big O Tires, they run a dishonest business. read more

I stopped in at the advice of the place where I get the oil changed on my princess car. There was concern about the left rear tire being very low in pressure, and perhaps the wall was damaged as well. No appointment necessary, and first come, first served. Fortunately there was a lull in the action and my tire was tended to, valve replaced, all within about 10 minutes. The guys were kind and courteous. The REAL save of the day came when one of the guys noticed my car insurance had expired 9 days ago. EEEEEEEEEK!!!!!! They let me park my car on their property, told me where the nearest insurance place was and off I went. Apparently I was the second car in a row. Car before me had been driving around for 2 months without!! I am giving them 5 stars because they saw my tags. All other service was great too but I think it is unfair to rate a business low or high when it is first come, first served. My next tire needs will see me coming back here.
