I was just at this Van Nuys location, because I'm returning their equipment which is the modem and router, I recently upgraded my modem and router and I wanted to save the $5 that Spectrum is charging me. Anyway it should be an easy return no more than 5 minutes right? Wrong!!! The person that I got keeps on up selling me, which J politely declined, It took more than 15 minutes. Je keeps changing things on my account and upon going home my Internet was turned off!!! What an A-hole!! Just because I wouldn't take additional services he messed up my account?!! I came here to return my cable box. I have never been to this location. I have to say its a nice location. I can't speak about the other Customer Service representatives, but the somewhat older gentleman that assisted me, I think the initials on the receipt was Cashier - TD or TJ or something similar, was simply great! The only thing that was a question, is how online they make you make an appointment and are told to show the appt confirmation. However, when you get there, no one cares about the appointment and you are simply put in a line outside at random with anyone else. Then the security guard is making the decisions on who to let in etc. I thought my appointment was going to mean something. An update to my original review from 6 weeks ago. After all of the hours I spent on the phone with Spectrum and still not getting my mom's account set up properly, I finally decided to do away with the TV service along with the landline service they just could never connect. At this point we just wanted internet. I was assured by Matthew in the billing department in that her current bill would be updated to reflect the new rate of $54.99 and her account would be credited to reflect her new service. Well, wrong! Spectrum is making money off customers by claiming that no refund will be given if you cancel any service before the end of your billing cycle. What's that you advertise Spectrum? NO CONTRACTS? NO CANCELLATION FEES? I call Bullshit! Funny how they don't bother to actually tell you that on the phone when you are setting up or canceling your service. SHAME ON THEM. Terrible company, overcharges for service, and your bill is never reliable; it can shoot up $20-$30 per month at the drop of a hat, and does so at least twice a year. I finally cut the cable at the end of last month, was then surprise billed for the equipment I had yet to return... despite the fact that I had to isolate due to COVID and had a broken down car I need to get working before I could drive the equipment back. Showed up today at this Spectrum store location to drop off my equipment, on a Saturday late morning. There is a line around the store to get in, with roughly an hour wait... so that I can drop off their equipment and try to undo the bill. I recommend staying away from Spectrum, they are untrustworthy and bill far too much for far too little in return. The overall wait time outside was 35 mins, and my wait inside was 15, so not terrible. Once there clean and neat, masks, plexus dividers, and a bunch of unhappy and hot customers. Once I was helped it took maybe 3 mins and I wasn't happier to get out. So it was a good trip in my opinion. So during this pandemic, I think spectrum was doing their best. I saw so many people look at the line and walk away (maybe 6 or 7 customers) and the line was even expanding once I got in line - 19 people overall. There's another spectrum that is equidistant from me as this one so I may check out that one next time I need to pop in to a Spectrum brick and mortar. The only reason anyone even use the spectrum because it's the only thing available. Spectrum also owns Verizon wireless who will charge you for the air you breathe. I was being charged $96 for Internet. I canceled the service after they decided to raise my bill. This company is too dumb to prorate. If you use the service for four days you will have to pay for the full month Haha. I paid $15 for the four days I use the Internet and they are telling me I own the remainder of the balance. If they don't have your Social Security number you don't have to pay the balance. Going to collection does not mean anything if you don't actually owe them money. I would not recommend coming here for Spectrum service. I arrived at 10a.m. and there was a line going around the side of the building, there was also a crowd of people waiting in the front by the tree due to the heat. The hours online show they open at 10a.m. but the staff inside had the door locked and were just talking amongst each other while people were waiting in the heat. I even saw staff looking at the customers outside like it was funny. The parking is a pain with multiple stores using the same lot. I got irritated and went to Spectrum in Chatsworth which was so much better in customer service. The little line went fast and staff was very helpful. In Chatsworth they only allow 8 customers inside with the building with AC on, but again the small line moved very fast. Also, they have plenty of open parking. read more

this is what I wrote to Spectrum, However it fell on def ears. To Spectrum: As a senior, retired... I don't expect much based upon my conversations and treatment, I figured what the heck maybe, just maybe someone in this company won't blame their customer for billing errors. Spectrum notified its customers on or around 3/21/2023 regarding replacing old TV equipment. they will ship their customers a self-installation kit with your new Spectrum Receiver(s) - at no cost to you. The self-installation kit includes step-by-step instructions on how to easily set up your new equipment. As a reminder, your current receiver(s) will no longer function on or after 3/30/2023. To avoid any disruption in service, set up your new Spectrum Receiver(s) immediately upon arrival. My latest Spectrum bill was paid in full on 3/10/2023. I pulled out that Spectrum bill as a guide for the identification, proper removal and installation of the Spectrum equipment spectrum installed in my home years and years ago. The Spectrum bill was used to identify the receivers in need of replacement. It was at this time that I noticed that Spectrum was charging for a 4th receiver never installed in my home and was charging an additional $10.99 per month for years and years. Upon this discovery I immediately notified Spectrum on 3/23/2023 and spoke to Vlad regarding this ghost charge as well as, only being sent 2 receivers when I had 3 receivers in the house (1 DVR and 2 TV boxes). Additionally, the DVR installed fine but the TV box failed. Vlad tried from his end and determined that the new TV box was defective and that I could go to the nearest Spectrum store and get a new replacement as well as exchange the other TV box that was never sent. The Spectrum store was out of the new TV replacement boxes, so I left with my 2 old TV boxes to re-install, which I did. I then called Spectrum on 3/24/2023 and spoke to Juan to order 2 new TV boxes since the store was out of them. Juan ordered placing a rush on them and I was to receive them in 3-5 days. On 3/24/2023 we received a call from Tabatha at Spectrum regarding the serial numbers for the Spectrum equipment in my home since she received a ticket regarding a piece of equipment that I discovered on my bill. Tabetha stated that she would call me back Saturday, the 25 of march to get all the serial numbers of all my Spectrum equipment. Tabetha never called back. On 3/31/2023 at 12:45 PM I called Spectrum at 1-855-707-7328 and spoke to Joel. I first discussed the charge for the billing on the mysterious equipment DIG Adapter A/O & RMT of $10.99 which is now missing on my latest billing. I wanted to know what was this for, and I will need a credit for at least a couple years of Spectrums false billing. Joel immediately said I will need to contact billing for that. Joel then passed me to a supervisor per my request. Corey, the supervisor stated that he can only credit 60 days ($21.98) even though Spectrum has been charging me $10.99 for several years, it was my fault! that I have a duty to read Spectrums bill in its entirety; basically, since I simply paid the bill and failed to notify Spectrum of their error, I accepted the overcharging. I told him don't insult me like that and that what he said was ridiculous, I'd like to speak to his supervisor. Corey said they will say the same thing and it's in their contract that billing mistakes can only go back 60 days. I also asked Corey about the new equipment that Juan ordered. Corey said no new equipment is being sent at this point due to my plan. I then asked Corey what governing body oversees Spectrum? His response was I don't know what you mean but the FCC regulates them. Corey placed all the blame on me, for their billing error. I thanked him for his time and hung up. I was quite upset that I was actually blamed for Spectrum's billing, and that I'm supposed to understand what a DIG Adapter A/O & RMT is! As of this email, I still don't know, other than what Corey's stating it was another TV box. Which defies logic, if it was a 4th TV box why doesn't the billing mirror the other 2 boxes? (HD Set-top box, Remote and add'l Service) I've been lied to but what really pisses me off is Spectrum Generates the bills they send out and for them to blame their customers for Spectrums maliciousness is beyond me. needless to say, I'll find another provider or start streaming! until Spectrum reimburses me for their unethical billing practices, don't use them! On the rare occasion when I needed to swap out or return equipment, I used to go to the Santa Monica location. Lines were long, but metered parking was right out front. But this year, they moved to just off the SM Promenade. Which means parking is now rough. Though it's further away, I'm coming to this location from now on. Without an appointment, I put my name in at the kiosk at the door, & I was in and out in about 15 minutes (on a weekday, in the morning). With the new cycle for my 2019, I noticed an increase in my bill because my promotion ended. The customer service rep told me I could get a discount on the bill if I returned a secondary box that I wasn't using because I was being charged for it on my bill. Oh yeah?! I will return that ASAP! I searched on yelp for the closest location and they all had pretty bad reviews but I noticed that was because people hate waiting and if certain disputes didn't come out in their favor they tend to leave a bad review. I mentally prepared for a wait, kind of like at the DMV, you can't expect to be in and out with a high volume of customers. I pulled into the plaza, I'm familiar with the area because my favorite chipotle is nearby. Spectrum is located next to Chase bank and Chipotle. There is plenty of parking in the lot so that's not an issue. Pull up and hop out. When you walk in there is a security guy that directs you to the iPad where u can sign in to add your name to the list. It's like what you do at your phone service provider or at the Apple store; add your name then sit down and wait. The store was spotless, even with kids running around and playing with the display electronics, the store was neatly designed and not a crumb on the floor. I believe my overall wait, after being placed fourth on the list when I arrived, was about 15 mins. Not bad. I explained my conversation I had with the phone rep to the in-store employee and he quickly went through the return process. He scanned the actual box to look up my account, removed it and said I would be pro-rated on my next bill. He handed me a receipt and I was on my way.
