I constantly read the negative feedback about Spectrum. People saying they don't get good service, or the internet, home phone & mobile service stinks. I can't speak for everyone but I disagree with their comments. I don't have those problems. Many years ago, they bought out the contract I had with AT&T. I consider AT&T the worst when it comes to customer service & their plans. U-Verse was the best until AT&T put me with Direct TV, which they unfortunately own. The service went downhill. I was constantly talking to AT&T reps from India who had no clue what they were doing. AT&T loves to raise prices within a month or two. Always telling me they're upgrading their TV & Internet service. I constantly had to fight with them to agree with the contract they put me in. Adding junk channels I don't watch or understand. Towards the end of my relationship with them, they put me on a new two-year contract instead of one. Then they threatened to fine me if I left. Spectrum saved me from them & paid the AT&T contract off. AT&T still tries to ask me to rejoin them, I refuse & decline as they haven't changed how they serve their customers. I've been with Spectrum for many years. I used to have their TV service. But once the contract was up, the prices slowly went up. That's when I switched to YouTube TV. I have an Android box & can download many apps that offer free TV and movies. I only have Spectrum internet & home phone. The home phone service I rarely use because I use mostly my smartphone. The internet on the other hand, is great. Spectrum gave me a free upgrade internet box. My download speeds are now around 350mbps. To me that's faster than the previous. There are outages. But who doesn't get those? I don't complain. Also understand, your devices must be able to handle the download speeds. If you have old TVs, internet boxes, phones, tablets, PCs, laptops, gaming consoles, etc., they won't get the same speeds as the new boxes & equipment. So if you get a chance, upgrade your stuff, so you'll get the internet or mobile speeds you're paying for. I came to this location hoping to lower the Spectrum price. Recently, they raised the price on my monthly bill by ten dollars. The reps gave me a promotion which lowered the price from 15 to 20 dollars for one year. I was very happy. New internet companies are moving into Simi Valley, so while I wait for them, I'll be sticking to Spectrum. In the end, I get great customer service from this location. I can't speak for everyone, but from my experience, it's been superb so far. I get fantastic internet speeds & phone service with no problems. I'd rather be with Spectrum over AT&T. If I have to speak to someone over the phone, at least the reps are here in America & not in India. I never want to return to AT&T. They still provide slow internet speeds, they still break their own contracts by raising monthly prices & then tell their customers the prices go up because of upgrades. Spectrum at least is more reliable than them in my opinion. I'm staying with Spectrum. read more

Internet outage, then Internet available but not available at our residence. I spent 3 hours with customer service on line when they finally said my equipment needed to be replaced. I indicated I'm working from home and needed it now. They said shipping would take 2-3 business days; that was not satisfactory. I said send a tech with the equipment. They said it'll take a couple of days to set up an appointment. I suggested that I pick up the equipment at the Simi Valley Town Center. They said great idea. Why do I need to find the solution?! When I returned the equipment, I questioned why my rate went significantly higher. To reduce the cost the store manager offered a promo that included Internet and an additional line I didn't want or needed. They guaranteed $60 would cover same Internet service and an additional line. To my utter shock, they billed me $75 for the Internet and an additional $30 for a line I never wanted nor needed. I returned the equipment but they wouldn't cancel the services and that I would be billed $105 regardless and only the store manager can reverse the charge and I would have to go back to the store to discuss. I left my number for the store manager to call and reverse the charge. I have no faith so I went on line and canceled all services. I was a 14 year loyal customer. read more

In addition to the frequent long-term outages... Spectrum internet disconnected approximately 20 times last night. Again, how can a company get away with charging what they do and giving subpar service? The CEO is laughing all the way to the bank. Switch to Frontier Fiber Internet if it is offered in your area. Spectrum is just a terrible company that really doesn't care at all about their existing customer base. My cable bill was so ridiculously high that after decades of customer service abuse I had to switch to U-Tube TV (one of my best decisions ever), but I stuck with Spectrum for what they called their special rate, on my internet. In the last 14 months my bill has increased by nearly 50%. Their customer service department says they stopped two promotions for existing customers and only offer aggressive discount promotions to brand new customers. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. With Spectrum 30 plus years of loyalty is not worth a thing. read more

Went there yesterday with my elderly mother to close her account for TV that was under my deceased father's name and to open a new account under her name. She chose the channels she wants and he assured her that a technician would come by today to hook up her receivers. The tech showed up today (late) and told her that he was there to hook up her TV and her Internet. She was confused because not once did she say she wanted Internet and she certainly never authorized that. They never gave her a printout of what she was signing up for and come to think of it, she never signed anything at all. So how they get away with doing things like this is beyond me. The guys who work here are only interested in selling stuff to you, probably for a commission. They lost a customer because who would want to stay with a company who does these kinds of things? Now, after signing up, they're asking me to pay a $35 upgrade fee that they say started just 4 days ago. This feels misleading -- advertising one thing and then changing the terms later. We are long time Spectrum customers. We upgraded our internet speed a few months ago, and since then my granddaughter has had problems with her Playstation. She is knowledgeable and figured that the modem wasn't updated to handle the one gigabyte. We went to the Simi Spectrum store and worked with Erick who immediately understood our problem and knew the correct fix. He recommended swapping our old equipment for new equipment that could handle the new speed. My granddaughter and I went home, grabbed the old modem, returned to the Spectrum store to trade it out for the new modem. Erick, once again, provided help and insured my granddaughter had a quick in and out experience. He was respectful of her knowledge and spoke with her as such. Later, when she was installing the new equipment, she called Spectrum customer service to activate the new devices and spoke with Trish from St. Petersburg, FL who also respected my granddaughter's knowledge and was also incredibly helpful as they worked together. They are awful! I have had them for 18 years. Recently service was going down for days at a time. I called after being out for three days and they said the credit would be $6.85 cents. It was out the next day and they said it was not out for more then two hours at a time so we can not issue a credit. It was off and on all day but never out for more then two hours at one time. I asked if having it one for 15 minutes then out for 1.5 hours was acceptable service and they replied yes no credit can be issued. . Then I got my bill and they raised it $5 so they did not even give me the full credit for 3 days of no service. I cancelled service and they still want to charge me for the entire month. Run from this company they are awful all the way around. Spoke with two managers before and after cancelling they are not willing to do anything to keep a customer. read more

The process does take long to transfer data to a new phone etc. but that is not a customer service issue, it's just the way the iPhones work. We left happy with our purchases and customer service given. No long wait time and comfortable setting (it's spacious if you take kids with you). I waited 10 minutes to pick up my order after my mother (the account holder) talked on the phone with customer service. The representative on the phone attempted to add my name to the account but her system was acting up and would not let her, so she put a note on the order allowing me to pick it up at this location. I met Manny at the counter and answered all his questions but when my name didnt appear on the account he refused to give me the equipment. I explained the note on the order and the debacle with customer service. I even offered to face time my mother and have her provide her photo ID in the video call, but he still said no and said I was not allowed to take the equipment. What a joke! Where do you start with Spectrum? Well, let's start with customer no-service. The associates on the phone are no help. They can't make payment arrangements, make changes to your plan, will not negotiate and often don't even fully understand what services are available and what they cost. They do realize there are several other service providers, which they compete with and they can easily lose your business - right? Next is the overall quality of service, which is poor. They advertise download speeds of 1000 Mbps, however when testing their speed, it's only 307 Mbps. False advertising much? TV quality is absolutely the worst. I actually believe we got better reception years ago when we used a TV antenna on the roof. The picture freezes, pixelation and complete service blackouts are frequent. They happen on the order of several times a week, and despite numerous service calls, visits from techs, rewiring and new equipment, it still happens. Overall, aside from the download speed, which is never as fast as advertised, Spectrum has no redeeming qualities. They're not cheap, reliable, flexible, friendly, helpful or competitive. Pretty much any other internet service provider is better. We won't be with them much longer... read more

They took old drivers license info and based it on that. Thank God we figured this out after only a few months. Their DVR system is designed for nothing but to make you pay and frustrate the heck out of you . Outages were frequent . Never had an outage w ATT it was just super expensive . Spectrum for $170 we were getting less channels than we are now streaming it . took 3 phone calls to get the TV to work several days ago. their service dept is not geared toward service but dealing with AI that isn't intelligent at all . Wouldn't allow me to speak to a live person. Third attempt got a rep who had 15 years seniority and gave us valuable info that allowed us to cut the cable cord . I am sitting in the lobby watching a store associate moving empty boxes from one location of the store to the other (guess boxes are more important than me). Already not impressed. With Spectrum, it's pretty much you do all the work (uninstalling, installing, returning, driving waiting). My Spectrum representative said he couldn't give me an account generated receipt as it was already notated the box is out of service. Should I have just thrown the old cable box in the trash instead of driving to the store? He gave me a handwritten receipt. Walked in at 7 asked if they could open up a new line & buy a new iphone in full, they said yes & I got started on the process, the last step was paying for the new phone when another employee handed me back all of my things & said it would take another 20 minutes to finish my transaction & they are now closing up and cannot help me. He walked me to the door & locked it. Never been kicked out of a store in the middle of a transaction. There's a reason the Apple store closed in the Simi Valley town center and following their business model might not be the brightest of ideas, ignoring customers and having a smarter than thou attitude does not help the situation. it makes it even worse when you make an appointment did you have to sign in at their little digital kiosk only to find out that you don't have an appointment. Came into this great new location with better hours than their last location, wide comfortable lobby with nice tall chairs and tables to sit at, and MOST IMPORTANTLY amazing customer service professionals who go out of their way to assist their customers. Silvia went above and beyond to make sure I didn't wait more than a few minutes. I want to see the Canelo fight and I needed to pick up a box to order and watch it (since I only lease Cable Cards to use with my TiVo sets). She found one and setup right away to my account and provided me an east to follow guide on how to Install it myself. I'm also fascinated that they are sharing the SAME towers as VERIZON for their cellular service which means they are providing the BEST coverage around for an amazing $45/line for UNLIMITED everything. They promised to offer speeds up to 300 mbps, but typical was always less than 67 mbps throughout the day despite endless phone calls. I finally made the switch to another ISP which was half the price and significantly faster after testing for several weeks. I spoke to their customer service representative, Vanessa, expressing my intent to discontinue my Spectrum internet services. The representative argued with me and said she could not honor my request unless I explained my rationale. After thoroughly explaining my reasons, she disregarded me and proceeded to offer me other services. She refused to let me speak with a supervisor and kept me on hold for 10 minutes at a time. We Spectrum and the Spectrum TV app. Today, the app was not working, we were told that it should be working again by 11:00pm. I called their tech help desk and after trying their suggestion to reload the app and try again (still not working) I asked for a rebate for the time the app was out of service. They said they only give rebates for 'system' outages, not for app outages. This isn't the first time the app hasn't worked. The world will be a happier place when Spectum monopoly ends.
