Royan was a champ for helping us out about a week ago. We wanted to switch over to Spectrum Mobile from T-Mobile because of the great prices so we headed to our local Spectrum at about 1pm. We planned on adding 3 lines and also wanted to upgrade a phone. Unfortunately, we had a 3 hour sidequest because T-Mobile was a nightmare to leave. We needed a TMobile transfer pin so we were told to contact them by phone. The TMobile phone customer service said we needed to go in store. When we got to the store, they said we needed to call customer service. ANYWAY, we finally got the pin we needed and headed back to Spectrum at about 4pm. The Spectrum guys were swamped because they were short-staffed by two guys. This also happened to be a day where they had a few complicated customer service issues to deal with prior to helping us again. So, when Royan began helping us with our final transitions, we of course, were no exception to complicated issues. One of our phones was so ancient that it wouldn't adhere to simple transfer protocols (ESim activation). We ended up upgrading that phone and succesfully porting everything over. Royan also had to upgrade another phone and then activate the other two lines. All told, we didn't leave the store until 30 minutes PAST CLOSING. The entire time, Royan was upbeat while also being apologetic for all the issues. He remained patient and dilligent throughout the process and he finally got us everything we requested. While it wasn't an ideal amount of time to spend in the store, the experience was well-done because he worked until everything was completed and IT WAS DONE RIGHT. I had no issues with the lines, data transfers or the billing. Special props to Royan because he worked from open to way past closing and he did it with a great attitude the entire time. I know Spectrum customer service can get a bad rap for the extended wait times and slow service but please remember to factor in difficulty and quality of service received. Came in on Tuesday 11 pm without appointment to return the wifi router. No line, no wait, CSR scanned the wifi router, confirm the address and driver license check and received the stuff, printed out the order. In and out in 5 minutes. I have been waiting in line for hours at this place before. Count my lucky day. When you live in the monopoly area of Spectrum internet cable, then try to get the best out of it. Need to call and request update package every six months since they keep increasing price. Bad practice but oh well, you live in capitalism country. Every time I've been in this Spectrum store, they treat me with kindness and look at my plans to see if there are ways to reduce my monthly bill. They convinced me to switch to Spectrum Mobile about a year ago. I've saved so much money on their low priced plans and the connectivity is just as good as it was with Verizon. They always take their time and explain everything very clearly. I had another great experience with them today upgrading my phone. I appreciate this team! read more

Terrible customer service and company. They will blatantly lie to your face. Moving in from another service address was told I qualified for discounted pricing. $30/month for internet. After being sent equipment, the bill went up immediately to $72. When I asked why they said it was because it was a new service at a new address and that discount was for "current customers". Keep in mind I was Spectrum from my old address to the new one. So then I asked why didn't I qualify at the very least for the new customer promotion pricing. Their answer....because I wasn't a new customer since I was moving service....So I was told to qualify I would need to cancel the account return the equipment and re-establish service as a "new customer". I do all of that and was happy when I was given the competitive pricing when re establishing my new service only to be disappointed on my first bill to find that they increased my pricing, with out notifying me that they weren't honoring their promotional pricing after all the hoops they made me jump through. read more

Was told by the Spectrum rep on the customer service phone line that I could pick up some equipment from the local store. She even made an appointment for me at this store to pick up. Went to this store to pick up, and lo and behold the store rep says they don't carry one of the equipment in store, and said that I needed to call the customer service line to order it. So WTH was I doing at the store? Why didnt the phone rep order it for me in the first place? The in-store rep didn't care about any of the trouble I went through or extra time and effort wasted. He said he couldn't and wouldn't help me call the customer service line to order it. The store was COMPLETELY EMPTY and the employees were not doing anything, in fact just hanging out outside. He was so ready with the one line comebacks I'm confident this isn't the first time he had unhappy customers. Completely disappointed in Spectrum. I shouldn't have had any expectation at all. Who ever decided to change to their new system should be fired . If your record a movie , boxing match , anything you sometimes never see the whole program , the recording stops before the end of the show . the sound system also sucks , when I watch something on Spectrum I set the sound on bar at two or three bars , when a commercial comes on its automatically goes to eight or nine bars and blasts you out of your chair. It seems all I do all night is hit the remote buttons to get to a station or to a recorded movie . You can't put the remote down you have to hold it all night . It was the stupidest move Spectrum could have made .I've been with Spectrum since 1990 , 36 years , and I'm about to move on to another provider . BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! An internet account was opened by my ex-husband where I was added as an authorized user. When I moved from the address we were living, I turned in the internet equipments. I was never responsible for the account in any way. The payments were made by my ex, the account was ran by my ex. I did not give consent to be made an account holder, yet spectrum some how placed me as the account holder. The account is stated to have my name, my number and address on it. When I spoke to the collection company, Harris & Harris LTD, they informed me that it is a case of misidentification as the account has my name; however, the date of birth belongs to my ex and his number was noted to not be contacted. Seeing that his date of birth is the one on the account, that verifies that the account is tied to his identification, not mine. Harris & Harris then closed the case and had it removed from my Experian credit report. I have spoken to Spectrum on multiple occasions and they are still holding me accountable even though there is no legal ties. I asked what do they have on file that holds me accountable and I was being refused the information which I then told them that it is my right to know, and after going back and forth with the person on the phone, I was told only my name and address. I have all these exchange recorded on my cell phone to prove my case. I have never had a collection on my file and this has greatly affected me and my credit. 159 points was dropped from my Experian account. I have been denied a loan from affirm because of the collection that was on my report. I was not aware of the collections when I applied to affirm on Sep 10,2025 as I hardly check Experian. Now affirm has saved the information to their system and denied other loan applications even though the account was deleted. I am very worried that Spectrum might try to report this account to my credit again causing more damage. I can send in recordings and any other documents needed. Side note... I sent in paperwork to prove I was not the account holder to spectrum on Saturday Sep 13, 2025. I also submitted a copy of my ID so they might try to add my correct date of birth to the account. I spoke last to Luis a member of the Spectrum leadership team. I was told I will still be held responsible for the account, even though there is no legal ties between me and the account. All they have for me on the account is my name and address. I would need to have provided them with my Id that would include my date of birth. They would have also needed my ssn number. read more

Unfortunately, Spectrum appears in many places on Yelp, so it's hard to give a review of their service as a whole, as opposed to the service in a local store. So this review is not about the locals, but about the COMPANY. The service is reasonably reliable and acceptably fast. But their policies are designed to squeeze every last dime out of unsuspecting customers, which I learned only when I tried to cancel my service, so be warned: THEY DO NOT PRO RATE. They bill monthly--and even if you need only a few more days of service, they will charge FOR THE FULL MONTH. Example: You are leaving your home on the 30th, but your bill is issued on the 27th. Instead of charging only for three extra days, they take the full monthly amount!! That's another $90+ for less than a week of service. They also charge an obscene amount if you don't return their equipment, no matter how out of date. Despite my modem and router both being too old even for a yard sale, they threatened to charge me $180 ($90 each) if they weren't returned. Fortunately, you can do a quick drop off at any UPS store. The service is acceptable enough, but be warned what awaits you at the end. read more

If you want to upgrade services, it's very easy. If you want to remove services, Spectrum makes it very, very difficult. The 'errors' experience, always seemingly in the direction that benefitted Spectrum, has been consistent over 30 years, through all their rebranding and remixing, from Charter, to Road Runner, to Time Warner to Spectrum. If only we could give a zero. My partner called to discontinue service and was "schooled" for 20 minutes about why it was our fault the bill was high as we did not take advantage of offers. Service rep failed to discontinue account and I had to spend another 20 minutes doing so. The non-prorating thing should be illegal. Especially after the amount of outages at our location. Worst of all, they would not prorate my 92 year old mothers account when she had to go into assisted living. Glad to be rid of them. read more

Yesterday, September 23, I stopped by the Spectrum store in Rancho Peñasquitos, and fortunately one of the clerks, named Joleana, took care of me. Last week I had received an email letting me know that that there were some new tv apps that I could download for free. I got very excited and tried my best to do so on my own. Since am not tech savvy, I decided to go into the Spectrum store to ask for help. Joleana, one of the clerks/employees, was extremely kind and helped me in downloading the Apps. As a company Spectrum has the Worst Phone Customer Service I've ever dealt with. Overcharged and then they kept "passing on increases" after agreeing to a set price. They had their charges of internet-only up to $79 and told me it'd be $120 in March. AT&T offered me the same service for $60 & when I told them this they said they don't care basically. Why would anyone waste their money on Spectrum!? This is NOT about this office location, it is about SPECTRUM as a company. When I go here to return my equipment when I cancel in March I'll write a review about that experience as well. read more

This was an absolutely terrible experience. No greeting when we walked in. We said we wanted to trade our phones for new ones. She asked what phone we wanted. We asked to see the options...no explanations. I guess if you don't want a sales pitch this is the place to go. But...you will get no answers to any questions. We had appointments to get new phones. We arrived at 3:00, left at 5:50 with one of us having a phone...could not trade in our old phone...system did not work. The password worked for setting up the new phone, but would not work to erase the old phone for the trade in. We were told we were entering it wrong 5 times, then told to use the gmail password not the iCloud password. Neither worked. Four employees, only one working with us. She answered every question with "no" or " I don't know". The other 3 were on their phones. One accused me of being a bad customer because I was getting frustrated that they could not get it done in almost 3 hours. We ended up leaving without doing a trade in. Will go trade our phones in at an apple store and buy the other phone there. We will find another Spectrum store. Will be calling Spectrum tomorrow. read more

BIG shout out to Isaiah Canete at this location and the other employee who was there the afternoon of December 1, 2024! We finally decided it was time to upgrade our mobile phones and after a pretty deflating experience at the Apple Store earlier that day we decided to check out our service provider: Spectrum -- Made an appointment for later in the afternoon... and boy are we happy we did! The store is impeccable -- there's seating (big plus, as I suffer from plantar fasciitis)... the system of signing in and being called when it's your turn is efficient and fairly quick -- we waited about 10 minutes to be called to the front. Isaiah Canete took care of us in the most professional, empathic (I'm very technologically challenged and switching devices is very angst-producing) and efficient way -- He definitely knows his stuff. We got more for our trade-ins than we would have gotten directly at Apple, we got the models we truly wanted (Apple did not have the model I wanted) and the whole process was seamless and made so EASY by Isaiah Canete. We are elated with our experience at this storefront and recommend this store and especially Isaiah and the other employee who was there with him, who while we were there. we were privy to having to take care of a VERY difficult client and he did it with poise, patience and respect -- expertly handled. First prize in patience for sure - we praised him and he said he was very happy to receive that kudos. So we can't speak well enough of this Spectrum storefront and its employees. We were there for about 2.5 hours only because the transfer of data from old to new phones took a bit and then my husband did something with his old phone where we had to wait for an hour so it could be wiped clean and reset to factory standards --- we decided to wait and do it there, but the manager had told us we could take the phone home and bring it back tomorrow if we wished, which was very nice as well. We were the last to leave the store -- very happy and well taken care of. For all your Spectrum needs we recommend this storefront 1000%. read more

Ever since we switched to spectrum we lose internet several times a week and they accept no responsibility. But that's not even the worst of it.... Their staff is trained in highly prepatory sales toward the elderly. I got involved in this mess because my elderly mother was sweet talked into switchinh from perfect AT&T service to spectrum and buying a 400 $ dollar router by the tech sent in June that he insisted she needed. Keep in my mother isn't tech savy and couldn't possibly set this up. She and I are both remote workers and DEPEND ON internet for employment . We are both on THE EDGE OF losing our jobs. So yesterday is spent 4+ hours on the phone with Spectrum and here is my experience. *Lead Gloris promised an excalation and it was completely blundered by the dispatch team *Alexis in biling blind transfered us after rudely making us answer questions like we were criminals while refusing to answer any of ours * Lead Dianna who looked for literally any excuse to make our lack of working internet OUR FAULT. The AUDACITY ! Moreover she refused to admitt the escalation was blundered and basically said SOL for not providing the bare minimum a utility company is required and about how it's affecting our livlihood . She had the empathy of a rock but all the right wording on the call to ensure she made her customer servive numbers. Long story short Spectrum will sucker you into buying their service and LIE LIE LIE all while never helping you once. We will be switching back to AT&T as soon as they are available. That is if we still live in this house. Still uncertain IF WE WILL BE FIRED over this. Not that anyone cares im a trans woman and it is so incredibly hard to find a job that will hire me and not openly discriminate. My last job i was spit on as a store manager watched with enjoyment. I imagine Spectrum will get the same level of satisfaction if i lose my current job WHICH I LOVE BTW. BASED on the nightmare i endured yesterday. I don't think anyone has the guts to reach out . No stars. We've been Spectrum customers for 11 years. Today we went in to drop off an extra box, because we got rid of one of our TV's. Wanted to save $10)/month. The Spectrum guy accidentally cancelled our entire account. Told us it was "no problem", that we just needed to call, and Spectrum would fix it. We've been on the phone 3 hours now, talked to multiple people (some of them twice), and still no luck. This is just ridiculous. Update: 4 hours in no TV service. These people are idiots. read more

Great service! The staff is really friendly, patient, and helpful here. Jay helped us port, set up, and activate our second line all with a smile. The store itself is clean, spacious, and welcoming. We had a late afternoon appointment but didn't need one. Note: We've had Spectrum Internet and cable in North County since 2015 with little to no issues. Got 2 phones (Samsung S22+) from this store late June 2022. One of the phones keep unregistering cellular service when I approach Carroll canon road on freeway 15 and doesn't get better as I approach Clairmont Mesa Blvd on freeway 52 . Issue first reported Mid-July 2022 (note - unregistering service is different than no service). Went back to Spectrum mobile store 4 times and replacing sim card 4 times and wiped my phone twice then sent phone to Samsung on 9-9-2022 for warranty repair; got it back on 9-19-2022 (Samsung said no problem found) problem still exist. God damn it. The phone having service issue since month 1 and spectrum couldn't figure the service issue and recommend early upgrade. it sounded really stupid to me. For god sake. I got the phone and that's the latest phone from Samsung too. Avoid Spectrum mobile at all cost. read more

Date of visit: November 24, 2017 My mom wanted to upgrade her digital cable receiver to an HD one so she could get more channels in her bedroom TV, so off to the nearest Spectrum location to exchange it! As it was the day after Thanksgiving, I thought the process would go relatively quickly. Even though I had called customer service previously to get the HD receiver ready for pickup, I still had to sign in on the iPad near the front door (which a few customers skipped over...), and waited a few minutes to get called up to the desk. However, while the customer service rep was helpful enough, it still took a while for them to pull up my information, find out I had indeed requested a digital receiver, and get it from the drawers behind the desk. Also, while the business location was pretty clean and modern looking, a couple of the TV displays were tuned to Jerry Springer. Lucky that there were no kids inside... read more

I know that there are many reviews about Spectrum's dreadful customer service. I can only speak about my experience. I came to the Penasquitos office today to return my unopened self-install kit because I decided not to change from my current service. Social distancing was observed outside the store. Raymond kindly signed me in and offered to hold my packages safely inside for me. He cared for other customers in just as kind a manner. Of course, everybody loves Raymond, right? I was dreading a possible hassle about changing my mind. Another agent called me up and I stated what brought me in. No questions were asked. DO NOT VISIT SPECTRUM BLACK MOUNTAIN ROAD. This is my second bad experience with Spectrum Black Mountain Road. I purchased a new phone for my son before he moved back to Paris for school. The Spectrum employee did not tell us that we cannot put an eSim into the phone because it is financed and therefore locked. Today I learned that IF I pay off the phone we cannot add a Paris eSim to the line for 60 days. Is it really more important to sell a new device than to listen to the customer and share the limitations of the product/terms? We were misled and "tricked" into buying something that did not meet our needs. My first issue with this location was in May 2024. I stopped into the store to learn about WIFI extenders and my son had a question about switching from Verizon to Spectrum. He was told he could activate a line for $10/ month on our account. He paid off his phone and activated a Spectrum line. Long story short, we were not eligible for the program and now pay $29.99 per month for his line. Again, "tricked" into believing we would pay $10. The store employee who helped us is the same person who misled us about the new phone. Live and learn. Don't be wooed by the low cost of service, they make up for it in other ways. read more

I spent eight days of my life getting a Samsung phone unlocked from spectrum.   None of the promised call backs ever happened.   None of the supervisors followed through.   Wait time were unreasonable.   In the end,  they told me to deal with Samsung, even though they were responsible since they were paid for the phone.   I would steer clear of spectrum mobile, they don't accept their own responsibility and leave you hanging. Mixed feelings about Spectrum.. got a great deal but I needed to back to update the name on the account. We came first thing in the morning before they opened. Luckily 2nd in line because it got packed fast. There were 3 employees working but only 2 working since one had computer issues. You'll check in at the front and then wait for your name to be called. I was able to get everything I needed done pretty quickly. Only issue was we were promised I would not have to pay an additional fee for the self install. But once I got my confirmation I am being charged for it. So that's another call I have to make to resolve that issue. She wasn't able to print me any real confirmation of the updates. They couldn't just transfer the account to another name, they had to delete it. But I got an extra week so it worked out. Overall I've had the service for 2 weeks now, it's been good so far no issues. read more

Two price increases within a year (2024) for internet service. Addition of bogus "California Cost Recovery Charge" of $1.25 in July 2024. $89.24 a month for 300 Mbps download speed, 10 Mbps upload speed. Criminal internet service speeds at this inflated gouging price. Attempt at negotiating a lower rate failed (loyal customer since 1998), even though new customers can get $51.24 a month rate. I canceled, no longer currently doing business with Charter / Spectrum, trying T-mobile wireless service for 3 months, and then I might consider switching. At least I will be eligible for the $51.24 a month service for the same speed I used to get. read more

I signed up for a new service and I made appointment online for 7:40pm. I received a confirmation email. I drove and got there 5 minutes before the appointment. Guess what? The store is closed... There was another customer who also came to the Spectrum store beliving that it is open till 8pm. He did not have an appointment but I felt sorry for him as well. If you look up rip off in the dictionary you'll see Spectrum. Went there today to help my aging mom with her bill. Spectrum raised her bill almost $100 just for internet service only. Was told they can't help her with her bill by bringing back down to her original bill. Asked if she cancelled service today how much she have to pay. Was told they don't prorate the bill so she would have to pay the whole month bill even though it was 6 days into the billing statement. There are other options for home internet. Worst experience I've ever had. Signed up for the 49.99$ bundle and been paying 61.99$ ever since. They say you have a free mobile line for a year but if you do not activate a cell phone they will not honor the internet price at 49.99$, it's a scam to get people to convert to their mobile service through an internet promotion. They also do not mention that you will be charged for the router they give you along with WiFi charges, these hidden fees are embedded in the promotional scam so you active a mobile line with them as they are trying to build up that service. I would not recommend this company based solely on the deceiving nature of their bundle promotion. read more

Phone customer service was mediocre and I was having issues but when I went into this branch rep Ian was amazing and quickly fixed all of my issues. He was very kind, courteous, and helpful. I would like to recognize Kayson Jackson as an amazing sales person that would have saved 2 hours of my time had I spoken with him first. I spent 2 hours on the phone and through chat to ask for a promotional price I was seeing on the website but nobody could offer me because "it wasn't in their system". No customer service rep tried to make it right but Kayson not only helped me immediately (I had an appointment) but he also beat the offered price...great salesperson all around.
