Recently, I changed my mobile phone service to Spectrum because they seemed to have the best prepaid service I could find. Many of the deals were contingent on buying a new phone (I wanted to keep the old one). I was ready for that. I had checked and my old phone was supposed to be compatible with their network. The other contingency was that, for this deal, you had to subscribe to their tv and cable services. No problem. Have had them for years. Lastly, the best deals required that you have 2 or more lines on your contract which, realistically isn't a great discount because you have to pay $29.99 for each phone. I'm not complaining yet but we'll see what happens next month. Oh, I had made an appointment which they honored but they served other people during my time making the 20 minute process last an hour and a half. They did impress me with one of my giant fights. Normally, this goes out to restaurants but the Spectrum store had a sharps container in their bathrooms. It is so overlooked and I always worry about customers and employees getting stabbed with dirty needles. Only the second time, out of 100 that provided this service. So even if I hate their service I will always give them credit for the sharps disposal box. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE EVEN CONSIDERING One star cannot describe the horrors of spectrum internet. this WiFi drove a wedge between me and my roommates, going out every single hour of every single day. The Wifi going out and troubleshooting it took over 20 minutes each time and would work for 20 minutes before you had to fix it again. They would send out their poor technicians to come fix an unfixable problem. every tech was nice but I would not wish spectrum on my worst enemy. if you are ever going to live in Kenosha, do not EVER consider spectrum. I work from home and would have to do all my work at the local Starbucks. Youtube on tv? not a chance. the routers and motums can be replaced time and time again, but the issue is with the network itself. If you find yourself in a spot wondering where you may get internet from, go ANYWHERE ELSE. Spectrum has not lost just a customer. They have made an enemy for life. read more

I made an appointment today for 12:20 I get to the Spectrum store and go to check in and it says oh you missed your appointment it was at 11:20 so I go back and look on my phone and sure enough my appointment was for 12:20 you guys need to do something out at Pleasant Prairie store the wait is unreal either you need more employees or you need to speed up the process to get stuff and you could also speed up the process to return things because right now you shouldn't have to wait for 2 hours to return your equipment that is just sad I don't even want to give you 1 star . read more

The customer service here operates at half the speed of smell. Numerous people said "fuck this" and just walked out of the store. It took me two fucking hours to return a streaming box. That's it. I just needed to drop it off. Spectrum needs to hire more people to work at this location because the customer service is fucking ridiculous. How are two employees supposed to help 50 people. Not only was I getting less than half of the speed I was supposed to be getting throughout the entire time but when I went to cancel, I got ignored by three different employees and waited for over 30 minutes just to be seen. One employee was just chatting sitting on the couch with someone talking about her personal life the whole time I was there waiting. read more

Daniil and Alex made switching mobile services not just painless, but actually pleasant! Spectrum offers better deals than my previous phone provider (AT&T) but I had been putting off switching because it's such a hassle! Alex was able to get it done with patience for all our questions and enthusiasm for his job. It did take awhile to transfer all my stuff from my old iPhone to my new one. But Alex helped the time pass by a quickly. We really appreciate the incredible customer service we received at Spectrum. read more

Over 100 MPPS for $25 from Spectrum in comparison to 30 MBPS from AT&T at $55 special rate. I have had Spectrum for two months without an outage. I was shut down completely by AT&T every morning at 01:30 hours. So far I have not had any problems with Spectrum at the lower rate. read more

Every time I try to contact spectrum it is a whole terrible process. I spent the first 10 minutes of the phone call repeatedly denying them trying to sell me on a phone line that I do not want. It's ridiculous that they continue these practices. Why do I need to refuse a service more than once (5+ times of very clean NO!)? By the time I finally got what I actually wanted which was just a price quote she already had the Internet upgrade in the works without asking. It would be nice if she asked me to confirm if that is what I wanted as opposed to putting me on hold 20+ times (Not exaggerating). I wanted to discuss the decision with my wife but I am not calling these people back and wasting more time in my life. Wish their online platform was more useful. I cannot wait for Elon Musk's Starlink or some other kind of Internet service provider that doesn't have a monopoly so that I can finally be free from spectrum & the other one. Spectrum is awful but we don't have much of a choice. My rating is also taking into account the awful customer service I experienced when setting up my Internet. They are a terrible company to work with and have no competition in Kenosha. They called my mom and solicited her business by saying they could lower her bill by $60 a month by adding a land line, which she didn't need. They told her she could get a new cell phone for free. Needless to say her bill went up by $50, no new phone, and she went out and bought home phones for her land line. My brother-in-law installed it and they charged her $30 for the installation, which turned out to be for activating it. We tried to get her old plan back, remove the unnecessary land line, and we were told she still had to pay the $200 bill for 2 months with no service and return the equipment within the week. He said they bill a month in advance. To make matters worse her old plan is no longer available and she will be paying $30 more a month because she left her old plan 2 weeks ago for this smashing deal they roped her in to. I called and talked to the supervisor and he said there is nothing they can do. Stay away at all costs and don't let them con you in to changing plans. It's a gimmick to raise your rates. read more

Do Not sign up for Spectrum mobile. I spent 1-1/2 hours on the phone, and 2-1/2 hours in the store. They assured me that Verizon would work in Whitewater, WI. It sort of does if you are on a hill away from any of the university buildings. I get no signal in the buildings, unless I open the roof hatch and climb out there. Cancelled my service and brought phone back to spectrum store. Waited another hour to talk to someone. They cancelled the service but said that phone had to mailed back and that there would likely be a restocking fee. She didn't know how much. It's $50 if the seal on the box has been broken. Of course it was broken because there is no way to activate the phone w/o doing that. I groaned and said "fine, how long do I have to return it?" I was told 14 days. Well it turns out thats 14 days from when they ship it, not when you get it. It took 4 days for their 2 day shipping.I would have just kept that phone, but US Cellular sells the same phone for $79.99 instead of $142. What a scam!!! read more

Absolutely terrible customer service and misleading sales tactics. They upgraded me for "free" to higher speed internet and then in the next month charged me extra for it. After cancelling service, I was still charged for the month that I did not use their service. It took a nasty complaint to the BBB to get them to call me and even then they did not address my concern. The only reason they are in business with such horrible customer service is because they have monopoly on internet service in my area. Avoid doing business with them if you can and be smarter than them if you do. read more

My cable box died last night, no biggie, just drive over and get another even though they moved to the other side of the city. Get there, no, we don't have any boxes. They ran out 2 weeks ago, but can't seem to get stock back in that time frame. So I cantact CS, and they say to try the other store in Racine. Is there any way for them to contact the store and ask if they have this box before I drive out there? No. I know this new fangled thing call a telephone is all shiny and new, but you'd think they could contact stores since the customer's no longer can. So i drive another 20 mile round trip out to Racine....NO! Don't expect any help at local stores. You might as well go with AT&T if the mail order thing was your only turn off. At least they have the equipment available. I don't ask for much. I pay my bill every month and expect the service to be there. There was no outage, no problem with my personal equipment, just their box. Should have been an easy 5 minute fix. Nope! Have to make sure my one day off is spent wasting hours driving thru traffic and construction. That part could have been solved if any of them knew how to use a phone.
