I have been a Spectrum customer for over 15 years. A new store openbed up on Dinah Shore in (73170 Dinah Shore Dr Suite 101, Palm Desert, CA 92211). I went there for the first time this morning, as I am eligible for an early upgrade. I will never step foot in that store again. I wasted my time, first of all. They didn't have a zFold 5, in black. The very large round gent that waited on me seemed irritated, as if he was ready for a confrontation. You know when an atmosphere is welcoming. After 15 minutes, I just wanted out of there. I'm a black hospital worker. I recognize the attitude I experienced. Sharp answers, and zero pleasantries. It was like a trip to the DMV, or the dentist. I'll never step foot in that place again. So I wanted to give a honest review of my experience with Spectrum mobile because no on I knew has spectrum mobile, I also had looked at reviews from people on YouTube about Spectrum mobile before making the switch. What I found on YouTube were mainly people who were most likely being influenced by Spectrum in their opinions for sponsorship reasons or just were very vague with the service. Here's my experience: Before Spectrum, I had AT&T for a few years. Prior to that I had Verizon. I was starting to get upset with the increases in pricing for AT&T so what caught my eye about Spectrum was this deal from Spectrum customers who already have wifi with them that they can get two lines for the price of one ($30.00) for the first year, with the second line being the same price as well, so $60/yr for two lines. This sounded great because at AT&T I was paying $120 for two unlimited lines. It's also worth mentioning that there is a 20gb data cap per line which was done with me because both my wife and I's average data usage was below that amount. We decided to make the switch so we can experience what it was like the first hand. To be honest the only good thing about Spectrum mobile is the pricing. Their level of pricing is probably equal to the level of signal I receive at any given location. The line will constantly drop on multiple phone calls and the FaceTime quality is always horrible. Anyone I Facetime can't hear me or there is lapse in audio on either side. Often times my iphone signal will go to SOS or will have the towers completely disappear. This will happen randomly and I use my personal phone for business and this has caused me to miss personal calls or emergency calls to be effective at my job. It literally takes me restarting my phone for the Towers to regenerate. Also, if your phone battery dies and your phone reboots the phone can't make calls as well and the towers are not present as well. I was told prior to my decision to use Spectrum mobile that Spectrum uses Verizon's Towers for its signals but the level of service and signal anywhere I go hasn't seen the service I received at Verizon. I was also told that Spectrum has the added bonus of using any spectrum wifi network, from my home or anywhere there is a network and have my phone automatically connected to it to help tether the signal. I have made sure the wifi calling on my phone is turned on and the fact that there are Spectrum internet networks where I go has not assisted in making my calls/FaceTime experience better at all, especially knowing the places I go for this spectrum internet has great wifi coverage and signal. To speak to their customer service from a personal touch, their system has become so automated that it's near impossible to get to a live agent and most times you feel like a hot potato to get someone to answer your questions or assist with long waiting times. At this point I am four months into this one year free deal and I don't know if I can stay on this plan for any longer as the pricing doesn't warrant the suffering of my business and my career. The store downtown at Pine is all right for service needs. The older Asian gentleman is super cool and helpful. There was another guy that didn't let me return my equipment the other day because it was in my wife's name even though I knew the name and the address and all of the stuff I need to know. So in case if you ever need to return equipment that won't turn faulty like routers/Wi-Fi you can use the My Spectrum app to add yourself as a authorized user so you can actually return things in case if your significant other never has time. It sucks being inconvenienced but at least there's a solution. read more

#spectrum This is a nightmare that you must read about. Do not do business with spectrum mobile! I decided to trade in my iPhone for a new Galaxy Z fold. I called spectrum and asked how much trade in allowance I would recieve. The representative ignored me and told me that it is best to keep the iPhone . This was verified when Spectrum personnel listened to the original sales call. I went to the Spectrum store to activate my new phone and was told that I was supposed to get a $ 1,277 rebate. I called customer service who told me that the only way to receive the rebate was to cancel the transaction and send their device back to them. I returned the Galaxy and went to the Spectrum store to get a new phone this time rebate included. They told me that I needed to make a down payment once again. Another $232 ! They told me , "don't worry because within 30 days it'll come back to you because you already paid it." Today I received my new Zfold. . As soon as I signed for it an $852 charge was deducted from my PayPal account. When I asked why they told me that the phone That I sent back was damaged. It was a brand new phone!! No damage '! $464 in down payment money and $852 in non existent damage charges for a total of $1,316 has been deducted from my account ! Absolutely awful. I've been with them since 2016 when they started. It used to be that their service was glorious but their customer service was garbage, but suffice it to say their service is down at level with their customer service. I had an older, junk phone which they sent me as a "Warranty" replacement for my Pixel...ok, annoyed, but whatever. This thing would...not...work...I drove from Florida to Massachusetts and my GPS got me lost in Harlem, Atlanta, etc etc etc. Additionally, I received no calls, texts or emails the entire 24 hour drive...Restarted it and received hundreds of messages, missed calls, etc. I found out that all I need to do is reset the phone once an hour for it to work. Replaced the phone, new $1800 Pixel...Same problems. Texts won't go out or come in, emails are blocked, dropped GPS and cell all throughout the US. And then I realized what they did. They went the Metro PCS route of leasing TONS of towers and then slowly, gradually letting leases lapse so that, in more rural areas (where all of the highways go) there is no service. Spectrum, you suck. Oh and that deal where you get $30/month service if you have home service won't work if you have business (5x more expensive) service. I never should have bought this new phone, because now I'm trapped with $40 payments for the next 30 months. Spectrum is horrible - but it is not surprising since it is owned by Charter services. The spam that comes in is relentless on both our home phone and my mobile phone. You can never contact a customer service agent and, when you do, it is difficult to understand them. I'd rather send smoke signals. Its easily the worst cell coverage I have ever had. Even when it says it has full bars and 5g, it struggles to load web pages and videos. Calling the customer service "incompetent" would be a grievous insult to incompetent people everywhere. They gave me a year of free mobile with my home internet and still switched, even when its free its not worth it. Been making the moves to switch to Spectrum from AT&T, so I came here... I have a friend who has it and loves it (she switched from Sprint). My 5-stars are for my knowledge of her service. If I could, I'd give ZERO stars for the reviewers here. I generally love Yelp reviews, but every now and again I'm severely disappointed and realize that most just like to complain about Spectrum (and probably everything in life) for things that YOU, YOURSELVES did/didn't do (or also didn't pay attention to). just to note, Spectrum uses Verizon networks in every millimeter of their mobile service. So if you're complaining about Spectrum and you came from Verizon or went back to them & feel their service is better... you're literally a cult member of a brand name. THERE"S ZERO DIFFERENCE, THEY'RE THE EXACT SAME NETWORK! So to those barking that Spectrum isn't Verizon--YEAH, it IS, 1M%, and you can even go check the legal Federal filings regarding it. Google this, "Verizon adds spectrum for faster speeds, better performance & greater availability of 5G UW", it's only on Verizon's corporate site as well as in their legal docs. Seriously, so many people say dumb s!@t so confidently that it's embarrassing! For example: (1) Not being able to transfer "port" numbers: It's not Spectrums fault. It's YOURS. None of you actually read the service agreements that you signed. Just Google "reasons why my mobile number port was rejected", and you'll get someone else explaining this. It came and didn't work well and to switch to a comparable phone I agreed to a different one however wasn't told there would be an additional charge which wasn't gonna save me any money so I cancelled . Every week they said I had to wait for the label because when mailed back it gets returned !! I switched my phone carrier to Spectrum and I called to upgrade all 3 phones and I did not know they needed a down payment so I informed her I would deposit in my bank and call back the next day. The Rep informed me she would call me at 10am the next day when she gets in and that never happened, so when I got off I called and replaced the order all over again. I was going online to check status on the order and nothing showing so I decided to call 4 days later and I was informed they had emailed me to confirm it was me who placed the order even though they asked me for my pin# and personal info. This is not about this location, but Spectrum in general. We canceled service, they claim we didn't and proceeded to charge us for it. Even when we took the equipment in and asked, to confirm that the service had been canceled prior, the service rep told us yes it had. We have proof of our new internet start date and they still wouldn't remove the amount due. The agents on the phone are okay, but obviously go off of a script. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told "It won't matter they will tell you the same thing." BEWARE OF SPECTRUM MOBILE I was told by a representative of Spectrum Mobile thatI could try out a new phone for 14 days to see if I liked their service. I agreed and gave them my credit card. The next day I got an email notice that it had shipped. No box addressed to me arrived so I waited (as usual). I finally got a notice from Spectrum 5 days later saying my package had arrived. I found a small box addressed to my wife that had arrived 2 days before and inside was the phone. I talked with my wife and she did not want to switch to Spectrum from T-Mobile. So I didn't open the box with the phone inside. 13 days later I called Spectrum for instructions to return the unopened phone. They said that the 14 days are from the date they shipped the phone. I said "I was told by their representative I had 14 days to try the phone. How can I try a phone that hasn't arrived". I also noted that the box was addressed to my wife instead of me. They said they would send info to a higher level and would get email me back in 48-72 hours. I got a voicemail 16 days later and when I called back was told "14 days from shipping is the policy and that I could not return the phone" This is a "bait and switch" policy which is unethical and illegal. My god these people are exceptional at being completely worthless. You could try to care less and you wouldn't come close to what an absurd failure this company is. So my Paypal got hacked and my related bank card was cancelled. So I had to update everyone with my new card number. Having my internet with Spectrum, I couldn't just update one time. I had to do it for the internet and again for my phone service. So I call and wait on hold for too long only to get the first useless contact. I provide my card number and I'm told it does not work. Having used my card three times that day already, I know it works. I'm told that I need to call my bank and figure out what went wrong. I call my bank and they tell me that the person on the phone entered the numbers correctly, then entered them again and got the three digit security code wrong. Great so now I get to call back again to repeat a process that a monkey with a stick could get right. On hold again and significantly more useless person picks up. I had to give this person my card number EIGHT TIMES with her telling me it failed each time. After the third or fourth time she repeated the number incorrectly. When I told her she had it wrong she told me that I was wrong. Like, are you F'ing kidding me? I'm holding the card IN MY HAND READING YOU THE NUMBER. So I have to call my bank AGAIN. This time my bank tells me that this GENIUS ran my card successfully for $1 four times and then ran it with the wrong security code four times. How can one company be this INCREDIBLY INEPT???? So now I get to call Spectrum yet again. From the start I ask to speak with someone in charge because updating a credit card should not be this challenging for more than one person. This time I'm told that they cannot access my account unless I give them the last four digits of the card they have on file. Oh you mean the cancelled card that I don't have any more? Yes, that one. I don't have it, but how about the number I've given you ten times today already? Nope. Not going to work, not even to talk to someone there who might have less of a chance of not being completely incompetent. I have the internet through spectrum. It's 50 bucks a month for the first year, then it doubles in price. At about the 1 year mark you will also start to notice more outages and slower speeds. Now for customer service. There isn't any. It's abysmal. You can chat to no avail. When asked for your zip and phone number it doesn't work so you can never get to the 'help'. When you call it always says they are experiencing higher than normal calls and to try again later. If I had ANY other option, I would tell Spectrum to go f*ck itself. I HATE this company. read more

The service was out 80% of the time.(Too many residents in the area were using it). I contacted them. I had auto pay. They said I owed $435.00 we Hicham I paid. I was told, " That ended the contract. Would I like to renew?" Nope I went to T-mobile for service and Spectrum reported me to collections one month later for "149.95". Unbeknownst to me until it appeared on my credit report. Equinox deleted it. Transition would not. I called the collections and they said it was for equipment not returned. I turned it in on the 4th and Pine address in LB in August. I recently came into the store with my dad so he could get a phone for himself and my eleven year old son. Drew and Oscar helped us. These two gentlemen were BEYOND helpful for my dad who was trying really hard to transfer over a phone line from Cricket to spectrum. They worked really hard to make sure my dad had everything he needed to make the transaction seamless. They also made sure my son was taken care of with his first phone for middle school. I confronted one of their employees who said he could not help me, even though I had made a reservation and signed in. I got the BS run-around. I had downloaded WhatsApp on my phone and it was a mess. Grrrrrrr. From home, I had called Spectrum tech support which was no help and had told me to go to the store. The store guy said that was their way of getting rid of me. He said the mess on my phone was the app's fault, so he couldn't do anything for me. I was mad enough to spit nails. Brian Hill at the Poinsettia in Carlsbad is simply terrific. He explains everything very clearly. I feel like I got a few free and most helpful tutorials on using my phone. He truly cares about the customer and is very honest about everything. Refreshingly honest! Fantastic. I have had Sim card issues and hopefully with this replacement, I won't be visiting the store again, unless I need more pointers.
