I love the catalyst company. Therefore when I came here and had the absolute worst experience with a worker who refused to give their name for this review I knew I had to write it. Avoid this location and go to any other one. Other locations will treat you with care and respect, this one with discrimination and disgust. First. When you get inside they make you put away any bags and if you are a guy you are not allowed to bring in any bags of any size. Whereas all women can bring in purses. I understood for my gym bag but my water bottle bag which is smaller than any purse and I use it to hold my wallet and everything a girl put their purse in but it still wasn't allowed in. Even after I explained that this and pointed out their bias. Even though someone right before me brought in a purse double the size of mine. I Understand rules but when you make different rules based on gender that teeters on discrimination. I can only imagine how they just treat each other. Yikes. It made perfect sense how they treated me at the beginning when I got paired with an employee to be served. I got a short girl with long black hair. She is more on the bigger end. I am trying my best to describe her because she refused to give her name for the review and keep reading to see how she treated me. I don't ask for much at dispensaries I just want to be told prices and served. This person REFUSED to tell me any prices. Her response when I asked is she could tell me a price for one cartridge "uhh but then I'd have to walk to the register" I then proceeded with "I can wait" She then makes up a price and refuses to help me. She try's to sell me other product. I get it you don't want me to buy what I want and you want me to buy what you did. But she was rude, dismissive and refused to help me. At the register I boldly say "hi I'm a yelp elite and I want to review my experience here what's your name." She literally gets mad doesn't say her name and RUNS to the back to get her manager. She doesn't even ring me up. The manager comes up and asks what happened. I tell him she refused to serve me and hasn't but I'd leave this review. He didn't want to give the name of the person. Therefore please avoid this place as much as u can until they get this person fired or trained. THIS PLACE DOES NIT PRACTICE ANY SUPPORTIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. GO TO ANY OTHER CATALYST. Lots of reviews here about rude tenders and it's true. I've experienced it, but only 10% of the time. Undeniable. The deals are cool. The location convenience is nice. My new favorite cannabis shop! When my friend and I were in Long Beach, we decided to try Catalyst as they had a 30% off sale in the store! I got well stocked on some high quality gummies and vape cartridges for a great deal. They had a good selection and thankfully everything that I wanted was in stock. The store is small but mighty, organized well with good inventory. Aaron helped me and my friend when we were in Catalyst and he was a gem! I was down from the Coachella valley for a few days where there are plenty of dispensaries so out here in OC had to do a little hunting depending on where you are at. Or at least for me and my friend. I hardly smoke, but for this occasion since haven't hung out with my friend we decided to look for one before we got food and went to the beach. We found this and they have this dispensary also in the desert but like i said I'm just barely getting into it. That said the place inside looked very nice compared to some local ones I go to in the Coachella valley. As far as what I paid for and got, I was happy. The guy who helped me showed what was good for the amount I was willing to pay. He was nice and patient and understanding. There were was a line ahead and behind me but didn't have to wait long. I would be cautious about buying disposable pens from this location. I have bought two that have not worked and most recently tried to bring the second one that was not working back and they were not able to do anything about it. Unfortunately, this product was almost $50 and was a waste of money. I understand their sales are final but I wouldn't buy any disposable pens here given there is no guarantee they will work and there is nothing they can do about it. This happens and when it has occurred at other locations, they were able to replace. I heard a mixed response that all sales are final, but also that I was one day out of the guarantee so unclear about the policy. This is my local dispensary. Women get discounts on Wednesday, taxes are included in pricing, if you come often enough they'll ask you about your dog. David is the MVB (most valuable bud tender), he won't sell you questionable products for some sort of employee incentivized product push-- I'm a regular again because of him-- I'm not sure if he's the store manager, but he probably should be. *also a fan of the security guard-- He's the one who asks about my dog.
