I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. My husband and I took our granddaughter (3mo old) out for a walk in her stroller. My son was at a wedding and we were babysitting. We got back to his home after our hour walk and we couldn't get into the house. Baby was due to be fed and we had no idea what we were going to do! I called Spectrum and Bob very patiently listened to our story and walked us through what he could do to help. He sent Leo, who was there in 20 minutes because he was running a personal errand in the area. Leo put his own life on hold to get us in the home and assess what the latch needed to be repaired. About an hour later, he was back with a new latch. But the rod was rusted and the new latch wouldn't work, so he patiently cleaned it up so that it would function properly. I needed a battery for my car remote control and mentioned it to my friend who just had his replaced. He said you ONLY need to go SPECTRUM LOCKS in College Point. I was in and out in minutes literally with a now working remote thanks to Bob!! Nicest guy but of course I forgot my second remote which also needed a battery so I was lucky enough to return 24 hours later. I called Spectrum Locks to get a quote for a lock replacement - I just needed the inside to be changed, not the entire lock. The gentleman I spoke to was very patient and asked me to send photos, after which he called me back and gave me an estimate. The only reason I'm taking a star off is because the actual price came out to be about a fourth more expensive than the upper limit he quoted me, so that seemed a bit eh. Went to 3 hardware stores to make copies of a mailbox key. I was referred to Spectrum and they right away identified why the hardware stores couldn't make copes. I had first called Spectrum late December after dealing with a horrible locksmith who replaced the lock on my security door poorly where I was locked in the house after he replaced it! Door wouldn't open. Bob from Spectrum was so nice and helpful. He came to my house on New Years Day of all days to replace the lock. He was quick, professional and very knowledgeable. I called him again today because my security door wasn't closing properly. He was so accommodating and came here within minutes from another job to check it out. It wasn't the lock that he replaced but it was the heavy metal security door that I have. He oiled the screws and tweaked the metal spring on the bottom of the door which had nothing to do with the lock. I have used Spectrum Locksmith for approximately 7 years and have never been disappointed. Today they cut a key that has been extremely difficult by others to duplicate. We have had to in the past purchase precut keys from the manufacturer. Spectrum advised that the problem is not the lock but the key blanks. They, however, knew the trick and cut keys that were smoother than the original. Don't waste your time going elsewhere. Spectrum is the best! read more

Bob from Spectrum is the best of the best of Locksmith in NYC! I had to get a duplicate of my apt key which is a cruciform key(4 sided one). I called at least 10 locksmith in Manhattan but none was able to do it and Spectrum was the only one who performed the miracle. I've been researching over the internet on how to obtain a spare key for my Vespa. Long story short, in order to duplicate a Vespa key, you need the original master key (which I did not have). If you go to the dealership, they would tell you to swap out the whole computer system in the scooter. My second option was to send my ONLY key to California. Then I found Bob. He is my lifesaver! He put the spare key into his computer and it said it was able to make a duplicate copy! Came back a couple days later when the key came in and MAGIC! Highly recommend! read more

The door knob on our security door broke apart, and we didn't feel comfortable with the door not being able to securely close. Professionals with Integrity Bob at the counter was awesome, an absolute gentleman. I explained my dilemma of a canted keyhole to him and he gave me some detailed instructions on how to fix my problem. I unscrewed and tightened a few screws and voila problem solved.
