Bob at Spectrum Locks is a master at what he does. He came to our house to repair an old mortise lock. He did a quality durable repair for a reasonable fee. On another occasion, when we needed to replace a lost bank vault key, he had a special machine to make a replacement key at a much lower price that the bank would have charged. I highly recommend Bob. P.S. I live in Bayside NY not San Francisco CA read more

Great guys, take care of any/all your lock and security needs. Price is right for the expert knowledge and quality work that you get. Highly recommended read more

5 stars ain't enuf! When my 100-year-old mother couldn't work the lock on her front door, Bob went out to see. He could have easily recommended a replacement, a repair, pretty much anything. But he didn't. He oiled it up for her, showed her how to use it and accepted a big hug as thanks. From one (now former) New Yorker to another, you won't find better, or more honest support. And, at the end of the day, isn't that what's so sorely missing often? Thank you for the outstanding service. read more

Leo is the man! What a professional. He knows his stuff and is pleasant! Highly recommend.

I needed a battery for my car remote control and mentioned it to my friend who just had his replaced. He said you ONLY need to go SPECTRUM LOCKS in College Point. I was in and out in minutes literally with a now working remote thanks to Bob!! Nicest guy but of course I forgot my second remote which also needed a battery so I was lucky enough to return 24 hours later. Isn't it nice to walk into a store and be treated with respect and know you'll get great and honest service with a smile I may add!! The price was VERY FAIR. Bob had both remotes working without my having to go to a dealer which I might have done. I am SO GLAD my friend recommended Spectrum Locks. They are really that good. Richard K Bayside read more

I called Spectrum Locks to get a quote for a lock replacement - I just needed the inside to be changed, not the entire lock. The gentleman I spoke to was very patient and asked me to send photos, after which he called me back and gave me an estimate. The only reason I'm taking a star off is because the actual price came out to be about a fourth more expensive than the upper limit he quoted me, so that seemed a bit eh. Otherwise he was friendly, patient and did exactly what I was hoping he would do:) read more

I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. My husband and I took our granddaughter (3mo old) out for a walk in her stroller. My son was at a wedding and we were babysitting. We got back to his home after our hour walk and we couldn't get into the house. Baby was due to be fed and we had no idea what we were going to do! I called Spectrum and Bob very patiently listened to our story and walked us through what he could do to help. He sent Leo, who was there in 20 minutes because he was running a personal errand in the area. Leo put his own life on hold to get us in the home and assess what the latch needed to be repaired. About an hour later, he was back with a new latch. But the rod was rusted and the new latch wouldn't work, so he patiently cleaned it up so that it would function properly. Best customer service I've had in a very long time. Life savers who provided their service with understanding and a smile! Thank you. read more

After going to 2 other locksmiths with no luck I was finally able to get my key fob programmed here. The owner is down to earth, extremely knowledgeable, and his prices can't be beat. I will definitely visit in the future for all my locksmith needs. Thank you for the great service! read more

Great service! Called and got an immediate response from Bob. He assessed my problem and potential needs for a repair before coming to the house. Within a couple hours, he sent a very professional person to my home who repaired my front door handle set. He came prepared with the parts he might need, and when he didn't need them, he simply used the existing parts. I highly recommend Spectrum Locks. read more

Simply the best!! Especially Bob! I had first called Spectrum late December after dealing with a horrible locksmith who replaced the lock on my security door poorly where I was locked in the house after he replaced it! Door wouldn't open. Bob from Spectrum was so nice and helpful. He came to my house on New Years Day of all days to replace the lock. He was quick, professional and very knowledgeable. I called him again today because my security door wasn't closing properly. He was so accommodating and came here within minutes from another job to check it out. It wasn't the lock that he replaced but it was the heavy metal security door that I have. He oiled the screws and tweaked the metal spring on the bottom of the door which had nothing to do with the lock. He was nice enough to come out at the last minute to check out my issue and was so helpful fixing my door. I can't thank him enough! A very nice and down to earth guy, the best!! Thank you! read more

Bob from Spectrum is the best of the best of Locksmith in NYC! I had to get a duplicate of my apt key which is a cruciform key(4 sided one). I called at least 10 locksmith in Manhattan but none was able to do it and Spectrum was the only one who performed the miracle. Bob also fixed my non working lock which seemed almost impossible to fix. He is super skillful and talented and most importantly he is an ethical and experienced locksmith. Thank you so much for everything Bob!! If you need to duplicate a cruciform key, you found the answer. read more

I've been researching over the internet on how to obtain a spare key for my Vespa. Long story short, in order to duplicate a Vespa key, you need the original master key (which I did not have). If you go to the dealership, they would tell you to swap out the whole computer system in the scooter. My second option was to send my ONLY key to California. Then I found Bob. He is my lifesaver! He put the spare key into his computer and it said it was able to make a duplicate copy! Came back a couple days later when the key came in and MAGIC! Highly recommend! read more

I have used Spectrum Locksmith for approximately 7 years and have never been disappointed. Today they cut a key that has been extremely difficult by others to duplicate. We have had to in the past purchase precut keys from the manufacturer. Spectrum advised that the problem is not the lock but the key blanks. They, however, knew the trick and cut keys that were smoother than the original. Don't waste your time going elsewhere. Spectrum is the best! read more

The door knob on our security door broke apart, and we didn't feel comfortable with the door not being able to securely close. My wife sent me the link for Spectrum Locks, and she said to me "I think you're going to like this company". She was right!! Bob and his colleague were very polite, professional, skilled, and punctual. He didn't try to add on any additional work. I was expecting the job to cost a lot, but was pleasantly surprised. So, in addition to replacing the door knob, Bob also replaced the lock, and provided me with four sets of keys, and the price was still under what I expected. I would definitely use Spectrum again in the future, and would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. read more

Professionals with Integrity Bob at the counter was awesome, an absolute gentleman. I explained my dilemma of a canted keyhole to him and he gave me some detailed instructions on how to fix my problem. I unscrewed and tightened a few screws and voila problem solved. The lock would have costed be upwards of 230 bucks or so to replace. If Trump can't make America great again, Bob sure can. read more
