My first experience with this store was not a good one when I first pulled up in front of the store staff standing outside consuming drugs ! And to add my key didn't even work I went somewhere else to get a proper key that actually worked. Avoid going to this location Jake and Leroy are too idiots ! If I could give this location zero Stars I would one star is one too many! read more

Danny was very quick to respond when I had an issue with my front door lock. He arranged to come over that afternoon and called me with updates as to the time based on his already-scheduled appointments. He came over and helped figure out the issue and replaced the lock for me. He didn't leave until my husband and I each tried the lock with our keys to make sure we were happy with it. Price was very reasonable and he is definitely someone I would call again! read more

I went in to this establishment looking to have a security lock installed in my home. I met with Danny, who carefully explained the various kinds of locks I may consider. I selected a lock and within hours Danny came out and installed it. The price was reasonable and the job was done in a timely manner. Once again thanks Danny. read more

This is a pretty good locksmith that I have dealt with. Through one of my places of work and at home, I tend to have to have keys made somewhat often. I have been to Sun Security twice, and both times the man there Danny, has asked me to make sure the keys work, and if they didn't too bring them back so he could replace them. Danny is always personable and knowledgeable about his security products and the keys. Sun Security offers a wide range of locksmith services and security camera installation, as well as 24 hour services. His prices are comparable to neighboring locksmiths who do a much less than satisfactory job. read more

I got locked out of my place and called their 24 hour line on a Sunday at 9:21pm, the locksmith, Harry, was there by 9:35pm and I was in my home by 9:50pm. He ended up changing my door lock as the old one was balky to begin with. Very friendly guy and he even cut me keys the next day at the store. If this ever happens to you or to me again, call them up. I was even told that if I lock myself out of my car, they will come to my car to open it up and re-key it for me where ever I'm at. read more

the hyundai dealer couldn't fix my car remote, but wanted to sell me a new one for $230. & $100. to scan to my car. found sun security on line. After making several calls about scanning or ordering a new remote for $130. ($100. less than dealer) He unlocked the mystery of scanning using a spare remote that was working, he then scanned both. I was ready to pay for a new remote, but he pushed to solve my problem. HE DID IT, IT WORKS FINE. He charged me $35. for the hour and half that he worked on it. Moral of the story.... don't trust car dealer, trust DANNY at SUN SECURITY. ( but you guys new this already !!!! ) capt rsm read more

I am in Queens, New York!!! I called Danny to handle work on an expedited, emergency basis. He arrived promptly, early in the morning as I requested, and he willingly worked with a lock that I had purchased from a hardware store. He was able to un-install parts of the old lock and the new lock (which I had attempted to install myself!) and he installed the lock quickly and expertly. He advised us about another door, which was not working properly; now that door works properly also. He gives estimates and if he supplies the lock, he offers a warranty. He quoted a fair price and he worked on the lock during the Coronavirus pandemic. Danny is a nice, friendly man who does his best to satisfy the customer, even under difficult circumstances. I am pleased to recommend that others use his service. read more

Needed a special key last minute on a Sunday, and service was great. Funny owner who knew what he was talking about. Great shop!

Locked myself out of my apartment on a Sunday night. Danny was super sweet with dealing with a panicking person. Philip came and worked so hard to get me back in. He did everything he could, including going on my fire escape, before having to replace the lock. What a nice guy. Was even nice to my cat. Lifesavers read more

I went to Sun Security Inc & Locksmith on Francis Lewis Boulevard, next to Papa John's in Queens Village to get a key cut, after I went to Home Depot and Ace hardware. Ace Hardware said they could not cut the key. The key from Home Depot did not work at all. The owner at Sun Security Inc looked at the key and told me it's a special key and I may have to go the China to get the key made. He said he was not sure if the key would work. He cut the key and I paid $2.75 for the key. I could not even get the key in the lock. I went back at Sun Security and they were closed for the day. I went to another hardware store that cut the key for me and told me they would not charge for the key unless I tried the key first. I sent my daughter back to Sun Security the next day and was on the phone while she spoke to the owner about the key. He was very rude to her about being in business for twenty years and not giving her back the cost to cut the key because he used to do that and was not doing that anymore. He wend on and on about it being only $2.00 but he refused to return the cost of the key. Obviously he has had problems cutting keys that he knew would not work. I will not support Sun Security Inc & Locksmith. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If I could give zero stars, I would. Never again. read more

The deadbolt on my storm door took its last breathe. It was a good lock just old, and now broken. I was able to take it off, so I thought I would be able to put a new lock back on. Four days later and numerous visits to various hardware stores I was unable to find a lock that fit. The sales person at Home Depot suggested I cut my door. Thanks guy! Tired and defeated I called Sun Security. I explained to Danny that I was unable to find a lock to fit my frame. He told me to take a picture and send it to him. I did as he requested and he called me to schedule a convenient time for his guy to come install the lock. The guy showed up at the exact time we agreed upon and had my lock installed in a matter of minutes. He also tightened my door knob and gave me an extra key (3 keys in total). The professionalism was outstanding and the price was fair. I would've saved so much time and energy had I called them first. Thanks guys! read more
