the hyundai dealer couldn't fix my car remote, but wanted to sell me a new one for $230. & $100. to scan to my car. found sun security on line. After making several calls about scanning or ordering a new remote for $130. ($100. less than dealer) He unlocked the mystery of scanning using a spare remote that was working, he then scanned both. I was ready to pay for a new remote, but he pushed to solve my problem. HE DID IT, IT WORKS FINE. He charged me $35. for the hour and half that he worked on it. I am in Queens, New York!!! I called Danny to handle work on an expedited, emergency basis. He arrived promptly, early in the morning as I requested, and he willingly worked with a lock that I had purchased from a hardware store. He was able to un-install parts of the old lock and the new lock (which I had attempted to install myself!) and he installed the lock quickly and expertly. He advised us about another door, which was not working properly; now that door works properly also. He gives estimates and if he supplies the lock, he offers a warranty. I went to Sun Security Inc & Locksmith on Francis Lewis Boulevard, next to Papa John's in Queens Village to get a key cut, after I went to Home Depot and Ace hardware. Ace Hardware said they could not cut the key. The key from Home Depot did not work at all. The owner at Sun Security Inc looked at the key and told me it's a special key and I may have to go the China to get the key made. He said he was not sure if the key would work. He cut the key and I paid $2.75 for the key. I could not even get the key in the lock. I went back at Sun Security and they were closed for the day. I went to another hardware store that cut the key for me and told me they would not charge for the key unless I tried the key first. I sent my daughter back to Sun Security the next day and was on the phone while she spoke to the owner about the key. He was very rude to her about being in business for twenty years and not giving her back the cost to cut the key because he used to do that and was not doing that anymore. He wend on and on about it being only $2.00 but he refused to return the cost of the key. Obviously he has had problems cutting keys that he knew would not work. I will not support Sun Security Inc & Locksmith. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If I could give zero stars, I would. Never again. read more

The deadbolt on my storm door took its last breathe. It was a good lock just old, and now broken. I was able to take it off, so I thought I would be able to put a new lock back on. Four days later and numerous visits to various hardware stores I was unable to find a lock that fit. The sales person at Home Depot suggested I cut my door. Thanks guy! Tired and defeated I called Sun Security. I explained to Danny that I was unable to find a lock to fit my frame. He told me to take a picture and send it to him. I did as he requested and he called me to schedule a convenient time for his guy to come install the lock.
