Worst experience ever. Charged the top price, provided lowest service. Peter insisted on purchasing the doors and hardwares for us, and said that was the only way for him to guarantee qualities. We found many issues after the installation. The paint on the exterior door can be easily wiped off. The key of the security doors no longer works after several weeks usage. I lock new york ignored my phone calls and text messages. Refuse to provide manufacture warranty for the exterior doors. I end up paying extra money to replace the security door lock. Would I recommend this provider? My answer will be an emphatic NO!!!! read more

Locksmith by appt only... ridiculous!! I came back home and noticed my grandma was standing outside. Found out that she locked herself out by accident.. I called this place and the person who picked up said they are not available and I looked here on yelp and it says by appt only. I guess no emergency service at this place. read more

Moving sometime is a nightmare, thanks to i lock for make it a little better. I searched locksmith from Yelp and call them to find out more information about my door lock situation, the lady whom answer the phone was super nice and helpful. They almost spend 2 hours to changed all my door locks because of my olddddd apartment, and making sure everything is work perfect for it. Did some due diligence on local locksmiths and ILNY stood out, so I called them. The gentleman that took my call said it would be fine to submit pictures of the locks via email, in order to get a quote. The following day, I received a phone call from Allison the office manager, who relayed that the technicians there recommended we only change the cylinders, not the actual locks themselves, as the locks were top of the line and would have cost more than $1000 to actually replace. We elected to revise our request accordingly, and after clarifying our other requests, she emailed us a quote for the parts + labor. We paid half up front as a deposit via credit card (Over the phone), and made an appointment for a technician to come and perform the work at the end of that week, as the parts were special order. Due to one of their technicians being involved in a fender bender, throwing their appointments into disarray for the day, I received a voicemail the day of my appointment, a Thursday, and was advised to call back to reschedule. I returned the call and the technician I spoke to apologized profusely and offered to come perform the work at 6:30pm the following night, Friday. I was very impressed by this, and they made it abundantly clear that rescheduling appointments on customers is not how they normally do business, even though it really did not bother me considering the circumstances, as I know how frustrating it is to be in a car accident and wait 2 hours to be cleared to leave the scene! Peter came on time Friday night, and confirmed the work we wanted done. He immediately advised me that an additional lock we requested was overkill, and explained why. We agreed and he removed that from the invoice, which saved us over $150. He carefully changed the cylinders on the other locks, shaved the keys for a smooth fit, tested the locks and asked us to test them as well. They were 10x smoother than when we moved in, and he reconfigured them, as before one of them never quite locked/unlocked properly. I had forgotten about this, but he noticed it when testing them and made the appropriate tweaks to get it working properly. We also asked Peter to consider a rather unique issue we were experiencing with the configuration/placement of the locks on the door. He grabbed a part from his bag and fixed the problem at no additional cost, downplaying it as "A part he happen to have that happened to fit". We couldn't have been happier. This company is great! We have a neighborhood locksmith but decided to look elsewhere after the last job they did. At I LOCK NY, Allison answered all my questions/emails in a timely manner. Peter was professional, super nice, & knowledgeable during a free walk-through for the work that had to be done. He recommended only what was needed (no up selling to the most expensive options). In the end, we got quality work with quality products that fit our needs. On the day of install, both Peter & Jay showed up earlier than expected & had the job done within minutes. I've gotta say, it was an absolute pleasure working with the guys from I Lock New York! A few months ago I got locked out of my house, and after calling a few shady sounding locksmith businesses in the area who wouldn't quote me a price over the phone and who barely spoke English, I stumbled upon these guys... the name caught my eye, it's definitely catchy lol. They gave me a fair price quote over the phone to get me into my home, they were fast, friendly, affordable and honest. I felt comfortable with them from the start. I recently decided it was time to install a new metal basement entry door at my home, so I decided I would give I lock New York a call, considering I had such a good experience with them before. I got quotes from a few other companies, but none of them seemed as caring and honest as these guys... Pete (the manager) was really cool, gave me a great deal, and his guys did a phenomenal job.
