It was $8.50 to make a copy while another place was going to charge me $15.00. I also had visited the Minute Key kiosk at Lowe's and they didn't have the key blank. On time, pleasant, answered the phone immediately and skilled professional work was performed by the owner himself. My lock broke, I called, a live human being answered, and they showed up even earlier than expected. As anyone can imagine, this is an emergency when you're locked out. If I could give zero stars, I would. Michael and his associate came when I called them for an estimate. After they dismantled my doors (one of them being a french door with a cylinder lock), they told me that it was going to cost almost $1000 to fix it. After they dismantled one of the doors, I had to use a bungee cord to keep it closed until they returned to fix it. They brought with them what looked like a 1990s leftover item and considered it fixed. A couple of days later it broke off because it was the incorrect lock for the door (It was a full length mechanism for a french door that needed to be replaced). I asked to comeback and fix it. They did not. I am still sick to my stomach that I was taken advantage of. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I had a key copied it was an expensive key ($17) and when I returned to the city today it does not fit all the way in the door. I called to get a refund and they said they "no longer do refunds on keys" but I could come back and they'd "look at it". I said it would take me 2 hours to drive there and back can they please refund my money the key doesn't work, he said "that's what you say". I told them I would leave a bad review on Yelp are they sure they don't want to work with me on this and he said "no do what you have to do." So, I'm sorry to share but I had an awful experience with this place. Also no one working in the store wore a mask on the day I was there. read more

My key was stuck In my front door and went to snz for help instead of spending $300 on a whole new set. I have a pretty nice cast iron set. They sold me the exact front bolt lock. That worked but I had an issue with the cylinder also that I didn't know. While trying to put it all together, the cylinder fell apart and tiny pieces everywhere. Took it to them and they fixed it all up. Finally put it all together and it's good as new. Saved me lots of money. read more

On a recommendation from Baldwin brass I have used them once and will never use them again. They were supposed to repair the cylinder (key was hanging up) but managed to make the mortise lock inoperable and left me that way. When I tried to get them back to repair what they broke they tried to sell me a new lock for $750 and wanted me to pay another service charge. The way they handled the situation left me with a very bad feeling like I was being ripped off. I have since repaired what they broke and will never use them again. read more

Don't know anything about locks..call someone else Called to have someone remove Medeco lock from old door and put on new door. Technician didn't ring my bell to let me know he had arrived and only when I noticed the van outside of my house did I go outside. As I approached the van he commented "Can I help you?" with a slight attitude and I said I called about the lock and he then said something that he was working on it and it was "not easy". Any service person responding to a call would knock on the door first, so that wasn't a favorable first impression. After he worked on it a little, he told me something about the issue with the lock being glued and the spring not able to move that made it difficult for him to remove the lock. He said that he talked to his boss about this and his boss told him to rip out the lock but he didn't want to break lock or the faceplate which could have cost more money to get a new part. I told him that I would contact the company that installed the lock to help. I understand his concerns and since he's a locksmith thought he knew what he was talking about and paid the $75 service fee. However, my neighbor, who is not a locksmith, was able to remove the lock in a very short period of time and then install it into the new door without any issue. It seems that person didn't want to do the work or isn't properly trained. Either way I recommend you go somewhere else. read more

This is a true story! I went here to get my car key copied. When I went to go pay them, they said they don't except cards under a certain amount. So I went to go take my car keys back so I can drive to the bank and get cash. They said no, you can't do that' What?! That's right, they would not give me MY car keys; they said there is a bank across the street and an ATM machine at another location. Because I did not have an account with this particular bank and I had less than $20 in my account (yes the struggle is real), I decided to walk 1 mile to the nearest chase bank. (2 miles in total.) When I arrived at the locksmith, they were closed! Yes my car keys are locked in the store; I arrived 5 minutes after closing time. I called the number that is on the window and the guy said that the employee who I dealt with left and was not coming back. I just could not believe it. What is more, I was forced to leave my car overnight and the next morning I got a $50 parking ticket!... I was heated. I walked into the store demanding my keys and the employee had the nerve to get my keys along with the receipt for the copied key. I said I'm not giving you anything, I grabbed my keys and walked out. I told all my friends and they said that is the craziest story and said they would not patron this business. I will never go there again. PS: My parking ticket was dismissed after I explained to the judge what happened. He said ''If your lying, you got me. Dismissed." Boy was I happy. read more
