Internet is slow , shuts off often, and expensive. Try to choose another provider when possible .

The worst. Cable out twice this week, on hold 30 minutes just to be hung up on. Spectrum or really bad.

I seemed to have made the Apple The Americana At Brand my go-to location for various accessories for my laptop in recent years. I found it odd that there were two Apple stores within less than a mile apart (this one at the Americana, and the other at the Glendale Galleria across the street), but I personally felt this one was the "sexier" one of the two. My Apple product admiration only extended to their laptops, AppleTV, and their awesome iPod line before mine was stolen and the line later discontinued. I was still a long holdout for their mobile phones because dammit, my Samsung phones have always done the job and more for me, so why change? In my personal experience with Apple products, they have lasted a long time and rarely did I ever need repairs. Sadly, it was the latter that has brought me to this store of late. Would this location be the apple of my eye!? PURCHASE(S) USB-C To USB Adapter ($19.00): I recently bought a new MacBook Air laptop after my MacBook Pro laptop of over 7 years started to show its age. As was always the case whenever Apple came out with new products, they always changed or "updated" some of their proprietary elements such as ports or the outright removal of favorable ones all for the sake of "progress". In this case, I needed this adapter for an external hardware I used to transfer data and files. This wasn't a really big deal, especially since the cost was reasonable, but the fact I had to do it in the first place irked me. Magic Keyboard w/Touch ID ($149.00): This purchase came about as an end-around to continue using my MacBook Pro laptop when the keyboard suddenly started failing after my "lil black beast" stepped on it with his mammoth-like paw (I still love the kooky guy!). Over time and seemingly in an odd systematic way, certain keys started to stick (i.e. a row of "m" would start to appear, then the letter "r" had a turn, and lately the cursor arrows didn't want to take me anywhere). Thankfully, this proved to be a cheaper option than a full-blown repair, but having to travel with an extra piece of hardware has been the drawback. SERVICE Once I entered, I was always greeted by an army of eager "Applites" similar to those I would jog past who stood outside the Scientology building on the sidewalk. Everyone I've dealt with have been courteous, friendly, helpful, and informative. The time I took my MacBook Pro laptop to have the keyboard accessed at the Genius Bar, the young salesperson had it thoroughly checked out and presented two options. The training staff must be proud of their efforts - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I usually parked at the Glendale Galleria and simply walked across the street. Otherwise, there was plenty of validated and valet parking (rates varied) in the parking structure at The Americana - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A clean large modern open one-level floorplan with displays and products all along the interior walls as well as on tables as you walked from one end to the next. It was like an electronic candy store with all of the bells and whistles. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large tall tinted wall doors and windows while electric ceiling lights covered the rest. There weren't any TVs nor could I recall any background music over the chatter of customers and the sound from outside. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Apple The Americana At Brand served its purpose for me, and although I hoped not to have to return any time soon, they proved themselves to me. Generally speaking, the products kicked arse albeit at a costly price in most cases; however, the longevity spoke for itself (at least in my experience). They also appeared to have nearly the complete product line on display for purchase. Lastly, the customer service was always top-notch, I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $185.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I cannot get Dish, DirectTV, Hulu, TMobile, MLB.TV or any other carrier for the in-market baseball games. Its Spectrum Cable, or nothing. When every other provider offered better deals and promotions, I was just stuck because I love the Dodgers. But when Spectrum offered an alternate way to watch them, via an app, providing you were still a Spectrum Customer through Internet use or Mobile Phone, I went to investigate. And though the first customer service rep tried selling me on an expensive cable package, the manager, Nerses, stepped in and got me the Spectrum Dodger App on great promotional deal. When the season was over and I went to cancel, he went further and gave me good reason to come looking for him when the following baseball season started. So I kept in contact with him lightly during the offseason, and sure enough, when I went back the other day, (Because baseball season is starting again), he made good on his word and got me set up on a promotion for even cheaper than I paid last year, and with faster speeds! While my love/hate with Spectrum over the years, and their monopoly on the Dodgers, may continue, at least now I can attest than I am paying the same, or less, than any other provider could offer the Dodgers network to me--if they actually had the ability to do so. And I owe this to Nerses, who went above and beyond with his customer service. And as long as I continue to live in LA, or as long as he continues to work for Spectrum, then I'll go to him first over any other providers. His customer service definitely got me back in the love side of the Love/Hate relationship I've had with Spectrum over the past couple of decades. Thanks, Nerses.
