Internet is slow , shuts off often, and expensive. Try to choose another provider when possible .

Run away as fast as you can from Spectrum. They are way too expensive and don't offer anything that cheaper services offer. Their reps are rude and condescending and their equipment kept breaking down. read more

After canceling my service in November, I was called March 1 from collections. After speaking to spectrum today, they said that their billing cycle extended all the way through mid February and my payment was delinquent. If I do not pay this amount, it would follow me and ruin my credit. This makes no sense as the representative agreed, she could not access my account, but could certainly receive payments. read more

It costs more than YouTube TV because they add over $20 fees they do not mention. The software is horrible, for example, the screen will turn black for over 30 seconds at times over and over. I tried to cancel the service and was on hold for over 35 minutes then told it was done then it was not. Two days later given the same treatment. Just wasted another 3 hours of my life either on hold or with a variety of agents at Spectrum formerly known as TIme Warner Cable. The name has changed but the service is equally as bad or worse. I could spend a day describing the poor service from the agents to the service techs but will abstain. I did find it hilarious that they are offering mobile lol. AS IF!!! Ha. Found out they've been charging me extra for a service I don't use but of course they won't refund the money they stole from me. They mailed me a new modem without me asking and claimed it would be easy to install. Of course it was a nightmare. Spectrum sold my 86 year old mom Cable, phone and internet bundle service. Mom has been on Direct TV with AT&T for decades and has no recall agreeing to switch to Spectrum service and port her landline. Spectrum says she signed an agreement, yet they can't generate a copy of the agreement with her signature, nor do they know the salesperson or location the agreement was done at. They informed me that said agreement was done by a generic sales representative, such as a house-to-house salesperson or a store kiosk. Mom was mailed equipment that was never used. She has not driven in a year so I've concluded that it must have been a house sale. When she was hospitalized at the end of May I started taking care of her bills and noticed she was being billed from AT&T and Spectrum. After calling both companies and talking with Mom I returned the unused equipment to Spectrum in the original packaging. When I "cancelled" Spectrum they gave her one month credit but continue to bill $292.90 for two months of service that was never uses. The surprising silver lining is Spectrum is actually less expensive then Direct TV! I have Spectrum at my home and have been happy with the service. I proposed moving Moms service from Direct TV to Spectrum but their unethical sales practices, unreasonable customer service is outrageous. They continue to bill mom for past service never used. read more

I have the gig internet and it's just shitty. Speeds are never constant. I have a ps5 and had a ten gig download which took about 40 minutes. Get your shit together spectrum. AT&T is looking good with fiber. Y'all needs to step it up a whole lot! read more

Horrible service! I've been on with numerous reps and two supervisors for the past 2 hours! Charged 199.99 for upgrading my service to 1g down THAT I NEVER RECIEVED!! As previous posters have stated, Spectrum is a scam. It is run like a con. After being told last month that I couldn't cancel and receive a pro-rated bill, I waited until a few days before the end of my billing cycle. On Monday, I called and cancelled my cable TV service. Then today I received a confirmation of my upcoming changes and it still included television service. They had reduced my cost slightly but hadn't cancelled. I called again and the service person all but admitted that the previous representative had ignored my request to cancel. ("I wouldn't exactly call it lying," she said.) I would. I told the first rep that I wanted to cancel my TV service and he ignored me and then told me he had cancelled. This company's license to serve Glendale should be withdrawn by the city. Spectrum TV will tell you anything to get your business ( as do a lot of similar companies) I had Time Warner services for 5 years, they told me when I signed up that they would guarantee a rate for 2 years. They held that rate for a staggering 5 years, and then the worst imaginable thing happened, they were bought out by Spectrum. Within 3 months they raised my tv/internet bill by 22% and when I called they said there was nothing they could do. The fact that we are living on Social Security as the main source of income was not their problem, and that was a direct quote. There are plenty of TV services out there but not true with decent internet providers, so I am stuck with Spectrum. In the past 4 years I have tried AT&T, good for 2 years, back to Spectrum because for 2 years they would not leave me alone. I was told rate would hold for 2 years LIE. Once again after 1 year up about 20% this time. Back to Dish TV which has been 15 years since I used them, so far great experience at a much lower rate and better programing. I left Spectrum on 07/11/20 but was paid thru 08/06/20. One would think a credit for that unused portion of the month would be in order. NOT TRUE. I was told by a Spectrum Rep. that I would see a credit on my August statement, NOT TRUE. Spoke with Adam a Spectrum Supervisor this morning and was told it is company policy NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR UNUSED PORTIONS. There is no such thing as CUSTOMER LOYALTY either when you deal with Spectrum. If you have other viable sources, USE THEM. IT IS JUST SAD THAT A COMPANY THAT BIG HAS SO LITTLE REGARD FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. read more

My mother is a 91 year-old woman who lives alone in Lynwood California. She is medically fragile. She is a subscriber to spectrum cable TV and Internet. Her TV went out last week so she called Spectrum and they sent a guy out on Saturday, May 30 to fix the problem. He installed new cable boxes and a modem and left. The TV now worked but her phone did not. I tried reaching her by phone but she was not able to receive or make phone calls. I live over 2 hours away in San Diego so it is not easy for me to check on her in person. Finally, we were able to connect through Facebook audio and I was able to make sure she was okay. This is not the first time her phone service has gone out. She needs this service in case of an emergency. I called Spectrum and after waiting on the line over 25 minutes was put through to phone technical support. They tried rebooting the phone but were unable to get it working so put in an emergency service call for the next day. They told me they would call me Sunday morning and tell me when they would send a repairman so I can alert my mom as to when they would arrive. They told me they would send someone Sunday morning. May 3. I reminded them that my mom was elderly and depended on her phone to be able to contact someone if she needed something. On Sunday morning I missed the call so called Spectrum back and was told a technician would fit her in between 12 noon and 7 pm. They called me to tell me a technician would be arriving at 4:30 pm to solve the phone problem. At about 5:15 pm, I received a call from my mom to say her phone was working. The technician told her that the wire has been cut and serviced her phone. I decided to call her later that evening to check on her but got nothing but a busy signal. I tried to Facebook audio her, but was unable to. Therefore, I called spectrum back and again after waiting several minutes I talked to a phone service tech who told me my mother had no Internet, cable, or phone service at that time. The service went out about an hour and a half after the repairman left. Therefore, my mom was completely cut off from the world. I was thinking of driving up to Lynwood to make sure she was okay but at about 10 o'clock on Sunday evening my mom called me on the neighbor's phone who had gone to check on her to tell me she was okay. I had called him to check on her. I received a call,from Spectrum saying they would try to get a repairman out on Monday, June 1 but really didn't have an appointment until June 5. I stressed how my mom was 91, alone, medically fragile and needed a phone. They said they would put an emergency tag on the service request and let me know when a repairman would get back to my mom's for a third time over 3 days. I am wondering if their service repairmen are properly trained?? It is now Monday, June 1 after 2 pm in the afternoon and I have heard nothing. Both my mom and my sister have tried calling her but get no response sine her phone is still not working. We can't contact her via Facebook audio since her internet still isn't working. I consider this an emergency situation since my mom is medically fragile and getting to her this morning June 1 to fix the problem their technicians caused should be Spectrum's priority. read more
