In our neck of the Greater Genoa woods, Spectrum is almost the only game in town. Our subscription is Internet only, while Gayle's Mom has a Internet-TV-Phone package. Things work most of time, but: 1. Internet drops shortly and often, which is really irritating when you're in the middle of something. 2. In my opinion, Spectrum is overpriced and keeps trending up. 3. Gayle and I share a concern of affordability for her 94 year-old mother (we often manage the account). Yet when we call for a more affordable deal (after the latest cost increase) for a person of her age and income, there are no deals. read more

These people are the worst! They are up and down, keeping me from working half the time for pennies in credit. When I call, I spend literally hours on the phone trying to get someone who is competent enough and service oriented enough to do what I need done. Most send me to the store. But when I go to the store, they are even worse and send me back to the customer service people who sent me to the store in the first place. Been with Charter/Spectrum for a long time now. Holy moly, the standard internet speed just went up again! now it's 400+ Mps! But using speedtest, I get 490+ Mbs! DOWNLOAD and 420 Mbps UPLOAD! Cool, and I didn't have to do anything , everybody got upgraded for free! My modem and router get upgraded for free cause I use the Spectrum equip. This store was so easy to deal with. read more

I've been disrespected the past two times I've gone in there. I'm getting charged for a line that neither I or my family has. I shouldn't be getting charged over $600 for phone lines and WiFi. After I told them I shouldn't be paying for a line neither I or my family has they said if we take that line off you would have to start over and pay $300 all over again. Which is not happening. Good heavens. If you need to return equipment, just do yourself a favor and drop it off at the UPS store, where the term "customer service" isn't absolutely meaningless. What should have been a simple transaction ended up being an exercise in frustration, all because I was not considered an "authorized user." Spectrum has LESS than satisfactory billing as they refuse to generate an invoice if you are pre-paid so you have NO way of verifying they charged you the correct amount and that you have the correct remaining balance. Spectrum has LESS than adequate product for their internet service every day, and sometimes even more than once a day, just stops. Spectrum telephone service does NOT have enough of an allowed total number for us to Block all the telephone numbers we want to Block. Very dishonest business practices. I was on autopay and they up my bill to almost a 100 bucks a month before I realized what was going on. I called them to cancel which took over an hour. Made me sit on hold for 45 minutes and then refused to cancel unless I answered some questions. They put a specialist on the phone which I'm sure gets a bonus if they keep a customer. After all of that, I was offered $55 a month to stay with spectrum. If you want to go with Spectrum, I'd suggest canceling every year to get a better rate. read more

Spectrum has multiple problems. First and foremost their customer service is horrid. Whoever trains these folks needs to be placed in another department far, far away from humans. Secondly they promise the world and deliver, well not much. Living in North Lake Tahoe I understand the occasional outage due to winter weather. Unfortunately our internet consistently goes out for hours at a time, multiple times a month, all year long. After asking why (it goes out so many times) I was contacted by the service tech in charge of our area. He told me (after I would not accept the usual excuses) that they had identified the problem but would not be fixing it till 2025. I appreciated his candor but decided I needed to escalate my complaint higher up the chain. I wanted to know why they were waiting till 2025 to address the frequent hours long outages. The supervisor in charge informed me that if they said "we would have to wait till 2025 we would have to wait till 2025. If you don't like it you have different choices." If we had any other provider (with the exception of Elon Musk) that delivered decent bandwidth I would have changed months ago. They have us by the short hairs and know it. I got a phone fir Christmas from my daughter so I changed from spectrum to att they maid it impossible to get my new phone to work when they did not port over her phone number. They added a new phone number and continued to charge fir a phone that I never got. We sat on hold with them at att between an att tech support and spectrums port dept. after 2 /12 hours and no success they HUNG UP when we asked get her name. They simply made it impossible for me to transfer my old number. Also fir the past two month spectrum was charging me the new number they assigned a phone I no longer had. Meaning I now have to get ax new phone number. Zero customer service and we're rude. I will never use spectrum cable or cell phone. Internet service is terrible and there are constant outages (Replaced my modem twice so its not the equipment). The website is abysmal and billing is always down, even with auto pay and then charge late fees. They charge your account $5 every time you call customer service. They force you to use a spectrum email address on your account. They increase rates every year by nearly $20/month. I've had better internet service in third world countries. read more

I have been using spectrum for many years and have never been treated like such garbage. I paid on my account on January 31st. I noticed today, February 20th that my wifi was shut off. They contact me at the same moment and tell me I need to pay the amount because there was insufficient funds. I live pay check to paycheck, Why would there be money in my account almoat a month later? They have ALWAYS called me arleast 24hrs before they shut my account off. I work online and I am new to the company I work for and I will be fired because nobody had the audacity to call and tell me they were shitting my account off. Super unreliable service. You cannot count on them. Service goes out often and they tell you it will be back on later that afternoon.

So far not real happy with making the change to Spectrum from T-mobile! I thought 30 a month per phone line is a great deal considering I was extremely disappointed in T-Mobile. So it started over a month ago I made the switch and service is pretty good! A few dead spots but way less than my previous company! My issue is billing! I ordered new phones through Spectrum and decided before the two weeks were up to return them and just use my own because mine had more memory than the new one. So I returned the phone to my local store where I got it from. They sent it back and told me to call customer service 611 well long story shorter I did that several times and they refer me back to the store and the store sends me back to the phone and no one has done anything to fix my account! Now I have a 146.00 bill that will automatically come out of my account on the 10th and it should be a 200 credit I see on my bill instead! What the hell is the issue! How hard is it to return phones and credit my account the money you owe me instead of ripping me off for over double what I should owe you?!!! I'm seriously frustrated and considering changing to another company after the issues I have been dealing with that they won't seem to fix! Now once again for the 4th or 5th time I came back to the store and was told the supervisor was going to take care of it even though she wouldn't come out and talk to me and I was told hopefully it will be solved In 4 days before the steal money from my account that I don't owe them!!!
