I have been going to this store since they opened years ago and it's a great locals business. Yesterday I went in to get a replacement battery for My APC UPS and the price was competitive with Amazon. I also got a battery replacement for a mens watch. Not sure what happened but the back of the watch came off and the battery fell out! I took it back and explained what happened, I asked if they would replace the battery. Lee the assistant manager was very nice, explained that they don't normally replace batteries in this case but they would do a courtesy replacement one time. I'm not sure how the back of the watch fell off but was appreciative of the replacement. I price shopped car batteries from several retail stores. Batteries Plus was the best bang for the buck. That includes warranty and price! Surprisingly, it was the easiest process I've experienced in a long time. An added plus was how great the service was. Hard to believe that a chap as online UN-savvy as me actually placed an order online. I drove to the store for pickup and installation. The install is free so long as they do not have to remove any other mechanical components. I purchased a basic battery since I don't plan to keep the car much longer. It comes with a 3 year warranty replacement. Other competitors only offered at best a 2 year warranty. Recently, my cousin needed 4 batteries replaced in his motor home (well over 50lbs each). One of the emergency lightbulbs I recently purchased wasn't working, so I went back to Battery Plus to get a replacement and buy another one for a friend. I called for a stock check on a lithium battery for my 1987 Harley Sportster. I was told some motorcycles can't use a lithium battery even though they are 12v. She said I need to know if mine will accept it. I have no idea. She said they don't have it in stock and I need to be sure before I order it online. I was offered no solution or help. Answer to would I recommend this store? IF they had a "Hell NO" column, they would get that! NO stars, if they had that as well! I've been to this store many times in the past but, the crew that they have now, is really "scrapping" the bottom of the " barrel"! Customer Service was helpful over the phone (only "savior" for this "Circus"), in person service, things sank like a brick! If you're going to help a customer, then you help them "one at a time"! I took my wife's 3 timex watches to get new batteries. I've been to this store 4-6 times in the last 12 months. Each time I was at this store prior to today I was acknowledged when I walked in and the young man who helped me was polite & efficient Walking in the front door today rap music assaulted my ears. There was only 1 young male in the sales area and he came across as annoyed & bothered that he had a customer. I handed him the 3 watches and said they needed new batteries. He didn't say a word and took the watches to a separate area. He came back to where I was and took some batteries off the wall & headed back to where he was before, still not speaking. As I was waiting I realized that the music was from the back room area. One male in the back employee area said it was "damn hot in here", there was no response from anyone, then that same male loudly stated that "his balls were sweating". It's a damn good thing I didn't have my grandchildren with me. I found the employees very unprofessional and sullen. Lastly I'm given my watches back. Time was not even set correctly and he charged me $29 total. So each battery was $5 and then $5 to replace it in each watch? The receipt said I was charged for 3 watch kits. I ask the guy and he shrugged and said yea. At this rate Batteries Plus will go out of business. I know that I will Not be returning to this store. read more

I am not one to complain. Scheduled an appointment with batteries plus to replace battery on my I phone 7. In online they asked for make and model of telephone and all of my contact info. The appointment was scheduled drive 60 miles to the store and when I arrived they took my phone and returned shortly to say they did not have battery. As you can imagine I was upset. The customer service told he was sorry and he could have battery the next day. How can appointment be scheduled without confirming parts are in stock. My UPS (battery backup for my computer) was failing so we went to the mfg. website to get a replacement battery. Out-of-stock, of course. Tried their recommended 'partners' and couldn't locate the proper part. Enter Batteries Plus. Called them, they had the right replacement battery (actually two batteries were needed), so I went over and picked them up. I've had some bad luck with BIG diesel pickup batteries here before so I was a bit leery, but I'll give them a go again. So far, so good. Computer is up and running, and the battery backup system passed the self-test with flying colors. Life is good. As an aside, a few years back, I dug out my old BetaMax video camera and the battery was dead. D.E.A.D. ! I took the battery in here and asked if they could replace it. Of course not, since it was probably 25 years old. Not a lot of replacement batteries around for Beta cameras. Understatement here. But, if I would agree to allow them to take my existing battery apart, they'd try to rebuild it - with no guarantees. With nothing to lose, I said sure. Well,guess what. Not only were they able to repair it, but today's batteries are far better than the ones used in the original so I ended up with a camera that worked better now (at age 25+) than it did when it was new! STAY AWAY! I called, asked how much to replace an iPhone X screen. Was told $69.99, which was a bit less than I had been quoted at other fix it places. I took it in, gave them my phone, repeated the price I was quoted. When I picked my phone up the next day that were going to charge $179.99! Total rip off. They offered no remedy so I told them to just put my phone back the way it was. Instead they ruined the display. I came to batteries plus to get a new battery for my mother's iPhone. The man behind the counter (black hair and black mustache) started looking at the phone and said that he couldn't replace the battery because the phone was bent (?) He gave us a card and some information for another company (Tech Shield) to try, and he explained that they could possibly repair the bent area and change the battery. I took my mothers iPhone to "Tech Shield". The service was great and they laughed and explained that nothing was wrong with the phone-it was not bent at all... Just a super lazy employee at Batteries Plus. Good job batteries plus you lost a costumer plus the $70 for the battery change due to your lazy employee! read more

This was the worst shopping experience ever. The employees working at Batteries Plus Bulbs are rude and full of themselves. One of the three batteries I had bought was bad. I tried to return it for a replacement and was instantly greeted with a resounding NO and a bad and aggressive attitude. Needless to say this instantly made me quite angry. The battery cost less than $5.00, and you'd think I was trying to return a priceless gem! The employee (the one with the long, black hair and mustache) told me he wasn't the CEO and didn't make the rules, so I was out of luck. Then he told me my remote was bad and tried to prove it on his battery tester. I left and tried this battery on three different remotes in my house. None of them worked with the battery I was sold. All my remotes work just fine. I will never buy anything again from Batteries Plus Bulbs, and I hope no one else will. They have no idea how to treat a customer and don't know a dead battery from a live one. read more

rewriting my review. I had posted a review last year regarding my not so awesome phone screen fix. The store contacted me and told me they would be happy to try and fix it. When I did take it back to them they told me there was nothing wrong with it. Just to recap- I had a less than 6 month old Iphone 7. I cracked the screen. Took it to batteries plus to fix the screen. Got the phone back- the colors are not the same anymore. Whatever screen they used, changed the colors on my display. The colors are no where near as vibrant as the colors that came with my brand new Iphone. I tried to look past it but then within a few weeks my phone just turned into a big heaping pile of crap. The screen sensor doesn't work for crap! My phone has been the most aggregating part of my life for over a year and a half because of batteries plus. I can't type, I can't make phone calls, I can't use siri half the time, it will try and delete apps, delete text messages, delete photos. Send photos to random people, call random people, lock me out, hang up on phone calls. I don't even have to be touching my phone for it to go haywire and start scanning my contents for things to screw up. The other day, my screen locked up into SOS mode which meant I couldn't turn it off, I couldn't hard reboot it and anything I did to try and correct the problem only resulted in it calling 911 every time. I don't try to blame people for things that are out of their control but to be honest Batteries Plus- You ruined my brand new Iphone! And when you agreed to take a look at it even after your warranty period, it was for no good reason because your only response was "it doesn't look broken to me". I can't tell you how pissed off I am that I even let you fix the screen in the first place. I should have never given you a dime for this. And what kind of screens are you using that cause the color displays to change? Really and truly, if someone bought a new phone for all of the wonderful features and you go and replace their screen with an inferior product which in turns changes those features--- why are you even doing screen swaps? And why can't you own up to the fact that your technicians make mistakes and they should fix them. And why..... why....can't you give a big BIG heads up to your customers that one HUGE thing that is 100% possible when repairing a broken screen is that their phone might have problems with the screen sensor. Something you say your warranty covers but you don't tell anyone. You fail to mention the biggest issue that could arise from fixing the screen. Even though you say you cover it in your warranty. I did not have these problems with my phone before hand. My husband and I have been coming to your store for 13 years. And everything has always been good. But to mess up someones brand new iPhone..... you will most definitely make someone very angry and very very bitter. I kept my frustrations to myself and dealt with the misery of a piece of crap phone I can't even use half the time for the reasons I NEED to use it. Until I read some of the other reviews posted about screen fixes. I am sure you don't mean to create more problems for your customers when repairing their phones, but you are making their problems worse if you don't acknowledge the problems, find ways to make sure they don't keep happening, find a different distributor for your screens and take some accountability that maybe and truly it's your techs who made the problem worse. Dropped my iPhone today and cracked the front screen. Called Apple in Reno and was told they could see me tomorrow and it would take 3 hours to fix. On a whim called the AT&T store in Carson City and asked them if they fix phones. They said no so I asked if they knew of anyone in town that did and they told me Batteries Plus Bulbs did. What??? A battery store? I called and the gentleman on the phone asked what type of phone to make sure he had the screen in stock and said "bring it on in and it'll take about an hour". What?? Wow!! Took it in and my phone was good as new in LESS than an hour and $30 less than the Apple Store would've been. I am still amazed at the customer service and super quick repair. This store has it all. You need batteries, cables, lights and more....they got it. For that I give them 5 stars. Read below why they get 3 stars. I bought 6 golf cart batteries for my RV and they had all of them in stock. The down side is they did not have the batteries filled with electrolyte to the max. I had to add water. I called the store about this issue. Another negative was they did not have any carry straps in stock. This is the strap that is used to carry the battery. At 65lbs each a strap is needed for sure. Also I have one of the 6 on a charger this AM and it appears to be in need of a charge. I was told the batteries are fully charged and ready. Well, as you can see above that is not quite accurate. I will have to deal with these issues myself. It is too difficult to move these batteries more than I have to. read more

Went in for a watch battery for a Luminox watch. I had checked batteries plus website and they listed the Renata battery that the watch came with,, made in Switzerland. I gave the guy behind the counter the old battery to match up and told him the number. He pulled a battery off the rack and said it would be five dollars plus tax. Paid for the battery and when he handed it to me it was a Nuon made in China. He through the receipt in the trash, didn't even ask if I wanted it. Got home and this isn't the correct battery. It has the same number but its a 3 volt lithium not the 1.55 volt Silver oxide battery the watch should have. Now out 5$, no watch battery but at least I didn't ruin my watch. Good thing I didn't let the so called professional install it. read more

Went online and made an appointment to have my iPhone 6s battery replaced, appointment was for 9:30 am got there on time after driving 30 minutes, go in to the store, person working says battery is coming from Reno will not be there for an hour. You would think after making online reservations which included email and phone number they would have to courtesy to call and let you know the part is not in stock. On Wednesday my wife had a battery problem and couldn't get in touch with me, she drove to the Carson store with her Ford Expedition and they convinced her she needed a $360 battery for a vehicle that doesn't need that. A Ford replacement is around $150 and is more than sufficient. If you're a woman that is not mechanically inclined it's buyer beware.
