Spotty, inconsistent internet and awful customer service. Loves to gaslight you when you question why your bill goes up randomly out of nowhere (by almost $20 every time) for the same internet. They accused my non-existant child of ordering TV services on my non-existant Roku. When I asked who authorized any added services and why they wouldn't bother to send a notice, alert, email (literally anything) that this was added on, they said, "Oh, we had the wrong account pulled up." lies about promotions that don't exhist. you spend hours getting your price to $30 for internet then month after month it is billed differently. each time I call, they "fix it" but now the are saying the promotion I was offered for 2 years doesn't exhist and they want me to pay $40. they also raised my phone bills so I'm at $20 more a month than agreed upon. there notes all over my account, I have confirmation emails and all the evidence to show my bill should be $30 but the say there's nothing they can do their emloyees did it wrong. do not use spectrum! you will not ever actually pay what's agreed upon even when it's in writing. they do not stand behind their loyal customers with years of service over $10! this is crazy and a waste of time. Service to the Lakeway Independent living facility is terrible. The signal is so weak the picture often pixilates, freezes, or loses voice/picture coordination. Sound is even lost with some of the pictures. It is even too weak to support streaming programs without a rented booster. Pathetic. read more

Overall, the internet service is mediocre but VERY expensive. Even worse, when you go to cancel your plan they force you to pay out the entire month regardless of when you cancel. I canceled only 5 days into the month and they would not refund any part of it. read more

Went there to upgrade my internet and the sleazy rep added TV to my plan without my consent, even after declining their upsells. This would inflate my bill an extra 40 bucks a month. He apparently marked that I was given a streaming box when I was not. If I didn't catch it, I would be charged fees down the line for not returning something I had no idea existed. Now I have to sit on hold for over an hour to resolve it. Someone should force this guy to sit in a room and listen to their annoying hold music loop all day every time he does this to someone. I've been given the runaround about switching our home phone number to our number we've had forever. So far, I've been scheduled for appointments for a tech to come out 5 times. It was a little annoying working with the employee who knew absolutely nothing about anything and had to repeat all of our questions to someone else, but it was actually 20 times worse to deal with the other employee who was incredibly rude and started yelling at us in the middle of the store. Super ghetto. We were floored. He ended up costing his colleague a three phone sale as we walked out after getting all the way to the register after being treated the way we were. This review is for the Spectrum office in Round Rock by Walmart. Horrible experience. A woman was having trouble signing in and one of the two women who were working there barked instructions at her and the woman was still having trouble. Despite being only feet from her, she didn't try to help. The woman began upset at left. OK. Maybe a little blame on both sides. Customer could have been more patient and the customer service attempter could have provided actual service. I was sitting in the waiting area and I heard the customer service attempter complaining to her co-worker about this woman. That is completely unacceptable. You do not complain about a customer within the earshot of other customers. Then I got stuck with her. I told her twice I wanted a Pixel 8. Less than 2 minutes later, she mentioned me buying a Samsung. I told her that I'd told her twice I wanted a Pixel 8. Apparently, that was a detail too insignificant for her to remember. Her co-worker stepped in to help me. She at least got the name of the phone I was buying correct. When the woman walked away, I compleined about the woman's rudeness only to be told that she isn't rude "that's just the way she talks to people". In the future if you get accused of being rude, go with the Spectrum model of acceptable customer service and say you're not rude that's just the way you talk to people. I am female. The not rude but just the way she talks to people next helped a man. Now here's a surprise--she's much nicer to this guy. I thought we were past the days when women were rude to other women and kissy nice to men. Not here and not with her. Best part, after more than ten minutes, whatever he wanted, she couldn't do for him. Don't know why she couldn't have figured this out earlier. Meanwhile the number of people waiting grew to eight people all staring down at their black phones. They suck big time. I keep taking channels off to keep the monthly bill below $200 and now they are charging me $280 for a whole lot less. They also charged $300 to transfer the service. That is what I get for being on auto pay and only looking at every other invoice. I asked how I could lower my bill and they told me I could have 15 channels plus basic internet for $139. However, since the service month started on Sept 29th, I would still have to pay the $580, but only have the 15 channels. Ridiculous! The $139 billing would start on Oct 28th plus all the fees that they always forget to mention. I am ready to cancel all cable tv and finally really use the streaming on my roku TV. I am switching internet to either Google fiber or AT&T. read more

I had an excellent experience with spectrum cable. I have heard they send you quite a bill if you do not return the equipment but when we switched cable providers we were sure to drop everything off. There were some folks in the store that had this place their cable equipment meaning the router and the cable box and were not happy about the results and the charges. For us the internet worked well and so did the cable package which was affordable and I know they even have spectrum mobile now which is very competitive deals and solid bandwidth. read more

They said my cancellation was ONE DAY into the new billing cycle so too bad I'm charged for the full month even after turning in my equipment. Very rude customer service. My husband didn't put my name as the pick up person. As my husband did that I asked the guy I have my license with the same address if that will work. With a condescending tone he told me he cannot even if I was the owner of the house, even if I had the deed to the house (probably even said even if I had a marriage certificate-by that point I was already upset) that he cannot give me the stuff. Do you see those camera (pointing to the camera) I cannot do that because it's policy. So my husband finally calls me and I tell the guy that my name has been added. He said I have to check in again (how the heck am I suppose to check in when I already checked in). So he says someone is in front of me. So I wait. I ask for his name. He says here would you like a card. Would you like the number and then writes the number in the back. Tells me it's 24/7 and that I can call anytime I want to complain. He says all that with a condescending tone and smirk on his face. He continually says it's 24/7 and I can complain anytime. Later I do tell him he is very rude. Of course he says he's being nice. And then he also says he will not get in trouble because he is doing everything right. That nothing will happen to him. I tell him to be quiet because just want my stuff and to leave. He repeatedly says he's being nice and nothing will happen because he's doing everything right. 24/7 he says. He kept escalating the situation. He never had to say anything about having a deed, being an owner of the house. Never had to say that he won't get in trouble because he's doing everything right. New in town and signed up with Spectrum ISP and streaming TV app. The ISP service is fine. The streaming app is incredibly slow to load every time I turn on the television. Even changing channels takes 7-12 seconds. The TV guide does not show the channels in numerical order. Tech support just recommended rebooting the router and unplugging the TV. I plugged in my DirecTV streaming tv box and had no problems. When I called Spectrum to cancel the streaming TV app (waited 30 minutes to talk to a rep), I had to listen to the customer rep person pitch me on higher bandwidth, adding a mobile phone line and trying to talk me out of canceling the service. read more

Still not resolved and no way to reach these people. I suspect either identity theft or extortion. I switched to Google Fiber years ago because of constant issues with Spectrum's lousy equipment that had to be constantly replaced which meant a trip to them and long wait in line. I went to the Spectrum store on Brodie Lane to return my modem/router because I have moved and am using Google Fiber. First I called Spectrum on 2/22/23 and canceled service. Then, on 3/21/23 I went to Spectrum to drop off the equipment. Three people standing at service counters and one person asking people to sign in at the door. One customer service person was busy but the other two were free. They were just talking to each other. I went up to the first counter and was told I needed to sign in. ok. I went and signed in and went back to the counter. I was told there was a wait. ok. One person talking to the sign in guy, one taking a customer and two doing nothing. I waited 10 minutes before the smug young man called my name. I had my equipment in a box and placed the box on the counter. He looked at it and then asked me to remove the equipment from the box. I mean, really?? Was his arm broken?? Found out that my service wasn't ever canceled when I called on 2/22/23 although they do have a record of my call. WTF? I left a different company for this. The worst all around experience I have ever had with Internet and phone. Most days I cannot get service at all. It reminds me of the old dial up. My 5g on my phone just spins its wheel. I dread the day I may have an emergency and won't have service. I live in the middle of the city so area is no excuse. Once I remove this service I will never go back. I will never recommend them and on top of that Spectrum does the old bait and switch. Low price and then boom, outrageous. When Spectrum sales people approach me in the store I am like get the f*ck away from me. You are the worse internet/phone provider in the nation. I have had At&t and GoogleFiber. Spectrum acts...in their ads...like they're the best in the Austin area...unless you have a problem. If you call them...wait times are unreal. 30 to 45 minute waits are the norm! Now...if you have a technical problem...they all tell you the same thing. "Unplug your DVR for 15 seconds and plug it back in. That will solve everything. If you give them the error code....they have no clue what's the problem. It should correct itself if you unplug it....uhhh...I have done that countless times already. Then...the one I talked to online, Al###s, told me I don't have a DVR nor do I have DVR Service and would I like DVR Service! Yet...for the last 4 years....I have had one! What an amazing customer service experience!!! A breaker flipped on my tv and somehow burnt out the volume on my cable box. Ok the phone, the tech said I could exchange it at a Spectrum location because other over-the phone fixes wouldn't work. I had no idea how beautiful the new store would be nor how helpful the staff would be. I was greeted at the door by someone who opened the door and asked how they could help. I told them the issue, and they directed me to another friendly customer service rep. He scanned my cable box, found my info, and gave me a new updated box. ~WORST ISP IN BUSINESS. RUN AWAY~ I was told I could upgrade my internet service by a sales rep if I purchased my own equipment with out having to incur their $199 JUNK fee for upgrading. I went out and purchased the best internet hardware on the market. When I called back in, they've given me the run-around and refused to honor what their rep said. I spoke with their billing dept, who confirmed I didn't need to pay the $199 fee, and NOTED MY ACCOUNT. I was then transferred back to the Jackie (rep ID-6693, she says) who REFUSED to honor what their billing dept JUST confirmed. When I asked to speak with a manager, she just transferred me to another dept. (Not a manager) This company is a NIGHTMARE. Avoid at all costs. Use anyone else available.
