TRADE IN SCAM I did their promotion where they took my old phone and supposedly gave me $1,000 toward a new iPhone, with the catch that I'd be in a 36-month contract. I agreed, thinking the trade-in value would truly cover the cost of the new phone over the term. What they didn't make clear is that if I leave early, I still owe around $700 on the phone, even though they already took my old phone as part of the deal. So AT&T has my old device and still expects me to pay hundreds of dollars if I want to get out of the contract before the 36 months are up. This feels incredibly misleading and unfair. Had I known I'd basically be trapped in a 3-year commitment with a huge bill to escape, I never would have agreed to this promo in the first place. AT&T's promo sounded great on the surface, but the reality is it's a long-term trap. I feel like I lost my old phone and my flexibility as a customer. I will not be doing business with AT&T again after this, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering their trade-in "deals" read the fine print very carefully and think twice. read more

When I ask the monthly price of the new 16 pro max with this trade in value, they quoted $37/month for 36 months. THAT COSTS MORE THAN 1300. WHERE IS THE TRADE IN VALUE? The staff insisted that it would cost $55/month without the trade in. I went across the street to Best Buy, they offered $10 per month or 1 time payment of 370 + Tax. BEWARE OF PREDATORY PRACTICES PEOPLE. These awful humans kept my anxious autistic girlfriend in this store for over 3 hours, she went in just for a new phone. After multiple hours of sensory hell and being overwhelmed with add on after add on, she was so shut down she just started to say yes. Yes to the "great" bundle for a charger and a cute lil case !! Also "yes" to the wifi router that we didn't need (we already had wifi) that he apparently said we could return after 2 weeks. It's actually one week ! She also didn't realize once it went past one week you would charge her over $100, if it went past that the customer service said she would have been charged $200. There's nowhere I can go to dispute this and I'm so so mad at att and their predatory practices against neurodivergent people. I don't understand AT&T's business model anymore. My bills are regularly $900+ a month with multiple staff members having their own lines, and we've been with them for 16+ years. When I have problems or questions with my account, I expect to be dealt with by an actual real person, not some kiosk. Every store I ever step into now has a 20 minute customer service wait. Then when you talk to a customer service rep, they seem like they are only qualified to ring up your transaction without having much knowledge of how any of their network features work or anything like that. Why even have storefronts if you're only going to staff them with people who don't know what's going on? Just save your money and have everything done online. The wait: I spent two hours waiting to discuss my new Uverse options. The store was crowded with people desperate for their iPhone 6. I had a child that was one month old. The purgatorial wait is not something I would recommend. Even the city of Austin permit office has an online queue that shows you on the web how many people are in front of you. You know you're not up to speed with technology when the state workers have you beat. To make things worse, the 3G waves were so slow that you could not entertain yourself. WTF. As many people know they do have the best reception in rural areas so if you're going to be out of the city and still one to get a good signal I would highly recommend AT& T. I arrived at this location having been made VERY unhappy at a different ATT store. The staff here totally turned my experience around. Within 10 minutes, Yovani was helping me with my new phone. He was polite, cheerful and extremely helpful. He didn't hard sell me on anything but let me know my options. He also took the time to help me transfer my "stuff" from old phone to new phone, which the other store had told me they were no longer allowed to do because "it takes too much time". My wife lost her phone and we needed to get a replacement day-of since we track medical data on her device. Really liked how this place was open until 9pm as that allowed us the ability to get this taken care of. What was underwhelming was the attentive of the service. Jason was great at completing our purchase, but when my wife asked him to explain the difference between two different iPhone models he told her to read the pamphlet that is displayed next to the phone. He was very nonchalant in his customer service and lacked the informative help at a time when a dedicated AT&T customer (10+ years of AT&T service) could have used it. In the end we got a replacement phone that works for our need. But if you are just going to tell us to "read what it says there" when we ask you to help us understand the difference between phone models then why even have a storefront with people working it? read more

I've had account since GTE was swallowed by SW BELL then CINGULAR and now ATT so many things have changed in these past 30 years. This is the closest AT&T store to where I live, but they have seriously messed up my iPhone world. I decided to upgrade to a 3GS since they had such a great price drop... These guys are clueless. I ask on one side if my text messages. notes... can all be moved over to the new phone and was told they have no way of moving text messages. I started to leave and found my friend ordering an iPhone 4 from a guy that had more of a clue - assured me they could be moved and sold me a phone. Problem is - they sell you a phone - can only move contacts and a few photos (so if you have a lot - you are on your own). I do not know why they are not well equipped to migrate to a new iPhone, but they send you home to do it yourself - and NONE of them really know what they are talking about. I am on Day 3 of having a new phone, so far have lost my backup, synced, backed up, synced, backed up... you get the picture. Following their directions had gotten me a totally bland phone without all my cool stuff. While I am assured I can add all applications back in, they will be empty of any history I have recorded. iPhone is supposed to be for dummies, but unless you have a mac, you need a PhD in geekdom to do this seamlessly. More poor business practices from AT&T on the wireless side. Last month my 3G internet was shut down due to excessive use. By use I guess that includes me Yelping and checking my email. I do none of the following: Download Movies Download Music Stream Movies Play Online Video Games Sounds like I lead a boring life online; yet AT&T says I'm using 8GB a month. I originally signed up for the UNLIMITED data plan for $60 a month only to have AT&T inforce a clause in the T&C for excessive usage. Seems they think you should be able to do everything you need to do with 5GB or less. Meanwhile I'm searching for a suitable new provider. Dear AT&T, I'm gonna laugh my ass off when Verizon gets the Iphone next year and half your customers bail. I think you'll have plenty of bandwidth after that happens. This is honestly one of the best AT&T stores in town. They are always helpful when I come here. My supervisor had recommended me to come here a while back. Then we came here one day to get him hooked up on DirecTV. I myself bought their Digital Life service that day. Mikel and the store manager were great and very helpful. Mikel was very knowledgeable about DirecTV packages and was a straight shooter with no room for selling stuff you didn't want or pressure you into something you weren't ready for. He was a very honest sales person and a resourceful one with getting me my discount for recommending my supervisor back to DirecTV. When I bought my AT&T Digital Life package he explained to me everything about the pricing and the DirecTV $10 discount I would receive for having everything with AT&T pretty much. There was also a promotion going on where they were giving rebates for signing up with their Digital Life package. I told Mikel about my home being prewired and he said no worries because Digital Life could support that setup. Plus it was a lot cheaper than paying $99 for a set of three contact/recess points. So make sure if your home is pre-wired for home security you tell your representative that. It will save you a lot of money in the long run. Like with any deal you buy make sure you do your research and homework. There are some people who try con folks or do shady sells. But I have yet to experience a bad experience here. I did have an issue with my Digital Life order but like I said Mikel took care of me and even explained to me what I needed to do because there was only so much he could at the time when my order was being installed. AT&T Digital Life is very secure as far sharing your information or giving anyone access to your account including their sales people. My issue was resolved within three days after my initial install. I was honestly amazed because I have experienced poor customer service before when calling into AT&T for billing. That I am grateful for because it can be a hit or miss when you call into AT&T. Mikel was a true professional and always was telling my supervisor and I about ways we could save money off our bills. Deals they offered for customers who have more than five phones on their plans with phone insurance. They are usually very busy here every time I have come to visit. So be patient with them. This is the only AT&T store we use and we're thinking it's the best because of their staff. While we have had good experiences in the past (we have ATT Uverse and ATT for our cell phone service), the most recent experience was what made me finally decide to post a review. We can't rave enough about Alexis, the employee who guided us through a significant change regarding our cell phone service. I won't bore you with details, but she was simply the best. It's rare to find someone so young who speaks loudly and clearly, doesn't mumble or rush through her words. Employees at all stores don't seem to realize how important that is. The art of good diction is all but lost these days. But Alexis not only had great speaking skills, but she also knew what she was talking about and didn't have to keep going to a supervisor to get facts. She patiently answered all our questions and spent a good amount of time with us. This young lady is going places and probably won't last forever as an AT&T store employee. Knowing my dear old cell phone of like the last 4 years, was going to die soon, I dreaded going to purchase a new one. I walked into the AT&T store and was greeted by Sean. I explained to him that I'm not cool and don't need the most fancy-shmancy cell phone. I gave him a few details and he guided me to my android options. He answered my questions efficiently and never made me feel like I HAD to make a purchase during my visit. I ended up getting the S9+ or maybe it's the 9S+, hell I don't know, but he transferred everything from my old phone to my new phone. It was great! He even helped me to make minor adjustments to my plan and I ended up saving $10 a month! At one point Sean had to step away to help another customer but I never felt abandoned as Oscar wrapped up the final details of my sale and he put the screen protector on for me! He even put everything back in the little box so it was organized for me to leave. I had a super experience at this store and both reps made life so much easier by being knowledgable, patient during the transfer between my phones and most importantly, personable. Many years ago, I dropped AT&T because of their atrocious customer service. As time progressed and the iPhone was growing in popularity, I decided to return to them to get my grubby mitts on an iPhone. The customer service was still fairly substandard. Recently, the long awaited Galaxy S5 rolled out and I just 'had to have one'. The business practices conducted here by the sales staff are both highly unethical and quite frankly, simply shady. Long story short...because of upcoming changes in my professional/academic situation, I decided to invest in a tablet in order to work more efficiently on the move. The plan I have had for years included unlimited talk, text, and data. Upon receiving my latest bill, I noticed they had cancelled my old plan and replaced it with a low data cap. When I inquired, I was told that my old plan was grandfathered in and no longer available. If I wanted to increase my data cap, I could do so for a $50 up-charge. When I stated that capping my data so low was both counter-intuitive and counterproductive and I never agreed of would have agreed to do so, I was basically told I was shit out of luck. After dropping so much money on new phone and tablet, I find myself weary of even touching the tablet unless I can wi-fi to avoid data usage. In addition to that, AT&T pre-loads their devices with data sucking apps running in the background. If you use AT&T, do yourself a solid and check to make sure you disable all background apps. The sales crew here is in serious need of retraining in ethical and business practice. You are just a tier below used car salespeople and scat. read more

So my LG touch screen wasn't working properly. I couldn't get anything to come up and I was frustrated because it's my work phone. I need my work phone. I went to the location, waited patiently for an attendant to stare blankly at me. I asked calmly if they had a battery for my phone, he took my phone and checked in the back. He came back and before I can ask anything, he told me that they no longer had anymore batteries for my phone. Now the place wasn't packed and I wasn't being rude, did I do something wrong? I turned around and said, well can you help me because my phone won't work right now? He continued to turn me away by saying that he no longer carried the battery. Okay so I wasn't the leggy blonde waiting for a consult, perhaps I didn't look like I had tons of money because I didn't park a Lexus SUV. But don't I need quality service? Perhaps my pending issue wasn't important enough for them to help me. Perhaps my screen not working wasn't a good enough issue for them to work on, after all they are the AT&T store, not the phone company right? Oh yeah..... But thanks to this experience I'm reminded now that when my contract comes up in late March, I'm just going to switch to something else. AT&T = Epic Fail as a large company down to the local AT&T Wireless store. P.S. Thanks to the sales associate who rudely turned me away and sent me to Batteries Plus, because not only did I have a better experience, but the associate there showed me what was wrong with the phone and he wasn't even an authorized AT&T dealer, perhaps he should be. read more

AT&T Mobile is the highest cost carrier I know. I have 4 phones with them. I pay just under $400 a month with these guys. For that you expect decent customer service. Today I get a big dose of I Don't Care. Short story. Bought an iPhone 6 and a new $35 case (Incipio Credit Card Case). The case has a little flap on the back that stores cards. It was recommended by my sales guy. Its crap. Broke in 2 weeks. Seems fair to get a different case for equal or less money. I was told it was guaranteed when I got it. NOPE! I was offered 2 options - #1 get a one time replacement of the same case (that is guaranteed to break again) or #2 buy a new one (sales guy actually said this! No kidding??? You will let me BUY a new one - so helpful). Spoke to manager and got the same IDK spiel. Stuff like this chaps me. They could easily give me a different new case by the same manufacturer and it would likely have cost them nothing and worse case $10-$15. I would then leave happy. Now I am very unhappy. Little things may not matter to some but they do to me, especially when paying a premium. It will take a miraculous change of heart to keep my over $4k a year spending once my contract expires. I am hoping that this message reaches their corporate office, I cannot express enough how disgusted I am with their Wi-Fi services not just a slowness of it and the empty promises, but what disturbs me the most is their lack of customer service. Every single time I call I get someone who either cannot speak English enough to where we can have a great exchange to where my needs are met or they place you on hold for unconscionable amounts of time. I made an appointment online a week ago. Yesterday, I received a confirmation via email, and today reminder notices by email and text. When I arrived at the store, a guy was locking the door. I told him I had an appointment at 6, and his response was, "We're closing early tonight for Thanksgiving." No "sorry." No "let me set up an appointment for you to come back on Friday." Nothing. And surely they had a list of the appointments for the day. Was it too much trouble to call to let me know they'd made a scheduling mistake? Didn't help that when I called AT&T to complain, and the person I spoke to forwarded my call to someone in the "customer loyalty group" (a.k.a. the "please don't switch to Verizon" group) where I was left on hold for 40 minutes and then offered a $15 credit for my trouble. The ATT sales reps I met were ummmm DUMB and rude. One is bad but both? Luckily, after a 20 minute online session with their support robot / person I was able to get the phone number to the warranty dept I kept asking for. A replacement phone will be here in up to 6 days. Dusting off the back up phone now. I needed the 800-801-1101 number and the online chat person ran me around forever to get that. then the warranty person has to take you through what I think even 6 year old kid knows now. Was it: dropped, got wet, damaged, dropped in water, remove the battery, remove the SIM card, check the sticker inside for water damage, hard reset the phone, look for corrosion on the terminals, etc, etc. I can do tech support for Cell phones or cable modems FOR REAL. Then they go on... Oh, sir, your phone is broken. NO CRAP!!! lol I told them in the chat I had done alllllllllll that already but they have their script to click before getting me to the exchange part of the call. Told me 6 days but, more than likely, 1-2 I bet since it's coming from Dallas. The sales reps were clueless to how their products sync to outlook. None of them have customers with business needs I guess. I wanted a phone that I didn't have to sync with Gmail, windows live, iTunes, or Zune. I want windows mobile 6.5 sync which used to be active sync. They tell me windows 7 phones "should do that". Nope they don't. LOL I know more about their product line than the manager and the sales rep. Not good when you're selling $300-600 phones and you say "well, we have plenty of people buy them and don't come back to complain" as justification for why you think your phone will fit my needs. My phone is like my central nervous system for work. I can't just get whatever looks pretty or all the sheep have that are in a flock one day. :P I need it to perform and well. So, I am using the older version of my phone I had as a back up until the replacement comes and maybe I will just stick to shopping online for phones.
