Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else. Took a phone for a new battery and screen. Prepaid in store for it and dropped it off. Told to come back at a particular time and there was a paper note on the door saying they are closed on Sundays until further notice and closed for the day. The man there never asked for an alternative number or that they closed at 3 when the door states 5 . When we showed to pick up the phone a little after three he claims he even went back and we never showed up. The only person you can complain to is the same person who was rude on drop off and pick up placing blame on everyone but him. This place is a scam, the screen we got back is damaged and was to not damage it more and he'll reorder one and have to bring the phone back to replace it yet again. Asked for a refund for the screen and was told to bring it back to get the original screen back on it. They deserve to have no stars. Very unprofessional and rude. read more

Sunday after Easter my wife had charged her phone over nite after the battery said it was very low. Well in the morning the phone was completely dead (No power, would not turn on, nothing) Call and spoke with Tim at the shop and of course he says bring it to the shop! First they took weeks to tell me the new screen for my laptop had been delivered(they forgot about me and I had to call them) Then when I finally took it in to get the screen replaced, after I paid hundreds of dollars to make my laptop look like new again...there's a little hair stuck under the screen where they put it back in and the speaker panel cover is PEELING OFF which it has never done before in the 3 years I've had this computer. And they must have banged up my Beats Audio speakers somehow because ever since I got it back my laptop can't do volume above 50% clearly anymore. do yourself a favor do not go here! total rip off! they charged me $150 and the screen they put was trash. The screen would randomly push itself and the flashlight button would not work, classic signs of a cheap screen from what I understan. I dropped my phone in the grass with a hard shell case and the screen completely pixelated and it's only been a few months of having it. From reading Amazon reviews you can probably get the same quality for $30 bucks and DIY. Any monkey can watch a YouTube video plus the screens on amazon come with the tools. Fast, helpful, and honest. Brought my iphone in to have the charger port repaired. I had already taken it to one place to see if it could be fixed, but after being told it would take a week to get the part I took my phone here instead. The gentleman at the counter asked me a few questions and told me it would only take a couple of hours to complete the repair (and quoted a price that was $30 bucks cheaper than the other repair shop I visited). As I was about to drop off the phone, he told me to wait while he checked one thing. He took my phone into the back of the shop, cleaned the port with alcohol and blew it out with a compressor. Bam, problem was solved and my phone was fixed less than five minutes after walking in the door. Even better, there was no charge. Bonus points for being dog friendly... read more

I'm so frustrated with this place! I have taken my phone here a couple of times for a cracked screen. The first time they did a great job so I came back. This time, I had upgraded to an iPhone 6, and understandably the price had increased, however the work they did was not. They did not have the correct glass in stock, so I waited until the next day (when they assured me they would have more...) when I returned the next day, they informed me that they still did not have the correct glass. "I guess we didn't order it or maybe they didn't send it..." Was the answer I received. In a hurry to get my screen fixed I just asked them to put a different color glass screen they had on it anyway. When I picked it up, everything seemed to be working but then as I got it home and was playing around with it, it was obvious that it wasn't right. I had my husband call and ask if they'd fix it, since I had been in there the day before. They said yes, and he dropped it off. The associate said, "call back sometime later in the afternoon, we might be able to get it back to you today." Later that day, as I was leaving campus to go back to our home in Kyle I called to see if I could pick it up and not have to make a special trip back - same day. The person I spoke to was short with me and explained, "it's a hard repair and I have a lot to do today, if you'd just please be patient with me I can have it done by tomorrow." Dude, I wasn't angry that it wasn't finished, you told me to call just in case, so that's what I did before I headed 20 minutes down the road. My husband picked it up for me the next day and as I looked at it, the new glass was not seated in the frame correctly. Obviously it had not been fixed correctly, but because I had a bad experience just days prior to this, I threw it in the case hoping that it wouldn't be a big deal if it was insulated. I took the case off today to charge it and the screen started to fall out completely. I attempted to push it back into place, but wouldn't you know it, by doing so, the glass cracked AGAIN! I won't be taking it back to Mobile Phone Geeks ever again, I would rather drive out of my way to go to Austin to get better customer service and quality repair. It's fortunate for these guys that no one else in San Marcos has opened a cell phone repair shop or they'd be out of business. read more

I took my boyfriend's phone in for a shattered screen, which they charged $115 for, and now his phone screen is black, it won't charge, and they asked for his password, which they didn't need. They never called to say his phone was ready, and the guy, Austin, came off as a total douche canoe. My girlfriend got her shattered screen screen fixed here. 2 weeks later the screen shattered again (maybe not their fault, but It was in a case and the drop would not have normally caused a screen to completely shatter or even crack at all). She brings it back in, they fix it again. Less than a month later the screen starts developing multiple cracks around the home button for no reason whatsoever. A few months later the glass screen itself start peeling away from the phone (again, for no reason). Now the screen is completely back and has stopped working all together. My usual phone died from a software issue and my provider wasn't able to send me a replacement for several days- and as a person who commutes 2 hours every day, I needed something in the meantime as a safety net in case anything happened. DO NOT GO HERE! I recently made the mistake of going here to get the screen on my phone replaced. Initially when I went to pick my phone up they couldn't even get the home button back in the phone properly. Then after a month and there so called "warranty" was up the screen started going out. I went back in and they were trying to over charge me to replace my screen again. Also while I was the there the several times 4 people came in with defective screens that they have been sold there I should have taken the hint then. The item I took to them to be fixed turned out to be broken beyond repair however I was not pleased with the fact that it took them 3 weeks to tell me this. When I originally dropped it off they told me it would be ready in a week. After 2 weeks I went back to find out the status -only to be told they had not looked at it yet. The store seems to be highly disorganized. The first time I went in I had to wait about 10 minutes because they could not find the lady in front of me phone. Apparently it had been misfiled (which I know can happen in the best of businesses). The second time I went in I was talking to a lady that said it took them a month to repair her phone when they originally told her a week. This might be an OK place if they can get some type of filing system and some front counter help. I think for now I will take my products elsewhere. Took a phone in the other day and the service was 100% better. They seemed to have gotten organized and now have a couple of people in there that know what they are doing. Late October, I cracked the Screen of my Samsung S6. Not the glass. But the physical Display. What you do is you go in there and tell when what happened, don't lie; Because that makes it hard to diagnose. For me I dropped it. I could see the crack and the screen died slowly overtime. They told me the cost of swapping out the screen, so I accepted because I needed it. Had it repaired by the next day. Unfortunately, when I got it back the microphone was no longer working. Meaning I could not have a conversation with someone using my voice. I brought the phone over and explained the new issue. They got it back to me within the day. When fixing it they cracked a screen. However when returned this time. There was flex in the screen and it was not sitting properly. And didn't charge me because it was covered in the warranty. So a few days later the screen had crack again.... due to the flex of the screen as predicted. They took the phone and fixed it another time. This time it appears to be seated better, slight flex. But overall, my experience with Mobile Phone Geeks was good. They were professional, quick, and responsive. I did not feel scammed because they had spend time and money to repair it three times for the price of one. Hopefully I don't have to go back again. I've had multiple occasions over several years to call on these folks for help - repairing cell phones (they don't like being dropped in your beer!), and purchasing used cell phones (at least two), as well as just helping me understand how to navigate the fog (oh, I think they call that the "cloud"), etcetera. I first come in to get my shattered screen replaced, they charge me $180 and 2 hours after I leave the store my phone screens starts to have a glitch. I go back in to replace it and I don't get the same color screen back. Then about 3 days later, my phone screen gets worse than before and is completely unable to work. I take it BACK in and again a few days later the microphone and ear piece stops working. DO NOT GO HERE! I got my phone fixed here not too long ago and after a week the screen starting popping out. It is the closest phone repair place near campus and right on the square. Do not rely on them just for location and convenience! They did a terrible job on my phone and went to not only one phone repair place after them but two. Each place said this place messed up my phone. The guy that repaired my phone for the third time said they did a terrible job. Parts were falling out of my phone when he took out the screen. So frustrating because as a college student it sucks having to get overcharged to get a phone fixed! I even have friends that have told me to not go here.
