I was repairing my speaker to replace the battery and got stuck on one last stubborn screw in a tough spot that I didn't have the tools to remove. I stopped by the shop hoping for a quick assist. The owner who helped me (super nice and patient) jumped right in, got that screw out without any hassle, and made the whole process easy. He was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to help me finish the job. It was such a positive experience exactly the kind of helpful, no-stress service that makes you want to support a local shop. He's a great person and clearly loves what he does. I'll definitely be back if I need anything electronics-related and will be recommending them to friends! read more

What a horrible experience I had at this business. I dropped my computer off on a Sunday. The employee (who was a pleasant young man) working that day didn't know anything about an Apple laptop....so less that he had to look on REDDIT on HIS computer to find out how to look up much storage my laptop was using. He had no idea how to find it! Even after reading it he couldn't figure it out. I ended up finding it. I needed a new keyboard because many of my keys were sticking/broken from the laptop being dropped during moving. I picked up my laptop a week later, and unfortunately didn't test the keyboard in the store. I don't use it much and didn't test it right away. A couple weeks later when I used it, I noticed the keys were uneven and felt off. The lighted keyboard also didn't work (it worked when I dropped it off). I took it back in when Gordon was working (different guy than the one on Sunday). What a horrible, unprofessional and smartass employee!! WOW!!!!!! I've had have my own business for over 30 years.......I couldn't imagine treating a customer like he treated me. He insinuated and basically accused me of spilling something on my keyboard. Pressure on keys were still uneven and backlight on my keyboard didn't work. Whomever installed it obviously didn't reconnect.....so now I type with a dark keyboard at night. Yes, I became angry and was appalled at his narcissistic and accusatory attitude. Asked me what the "residue" was on my keyboard. I walked out with my computer so fast and so mad and insulted.......NOTHING WAS SPILLED ON MY COMPUTER, GORDON!! It was their shoddy work and incompetency to install a keyboard that still isn't right!! He was absolutely disgusting to deal with. What a horrible representation of this business. I did call the Austin stores to share the story. According to the Austin stores, they're not connected, but students at Texas State should be warned about the quality of the San Marcos store. read more

The guy is a liar. Said it would be $200 to completely replace the screen on my iPhone, agreed to the price and left my phone. When I can back the screen placed on my phone had the quality of an iPhone 6 and was just horrible, then on top of that the screen just stopped working 3 days after service. When I went in to try and talk to him about it he said that the "proper" iPhone screen would be $615 on top of what I already paid. read more

Went in for blocked charging port. Helped immediately quality was quick and helpful. Free of charge was in and out.

Terrible experience. 1Up Repairs promised me a free phone repair after my service if there were any issues with the phone . My phone screen wasn't even repaired correctly in the first place and then turned around and charged me another $100 anyway. Their excuse? Because there was "water damage".That was never explained to me upfront at first and my phone screen was only very badly cracked with no water damage .This is dishonest and feels like a scam. If they can't keep their word, how can customers trust them? I'll never come back here, and I'd warn anyone else to stay away. read more

Only gave one star because I have to give something to leave a review. My daughter took her mac book for a cleaning due to a spill. When she didn't hear back from the store, she had to call and check on the status. Unfortunately, she was told it was a no fix, which wasn't a big deal. The tech also told her that when it was cleaned, it caused some issues that didn't originally exist. When she was finally able to pick her laptop, whatever chemical they put on it, ate the finish off the keys and in places where it splashed. When I called the store, he told me it sounded like I needed to invest in another MacBook and just call it good. I definitely don't recommend anyone using their services. read more

I haven't written a review in 8 years... and in that time I've lost 100lbs, tripled my business, traveled the world and gone to a LOT of service providers for all different things. I tell you all to underscore how strongly I feel about this company and that I'm taking the time to review it. I was out of town and I shattered my screen. Blink blink. Now what? In my hometown, I have a guy that I go to, but not here. So, I hopped on the world wide webs and found this place. I looked at some reviews and then called. Bear answered the phone... and he was so helpful, so conscientious, so informative, so polite and so useful that I decided to figure out how to get there stat. The place is clean, right across from the college campus (by design). I walked up, was greeted immediately. Baxter (not Bear) got to work quickly on my iPhone 8S. And, honestly, the conversation that all of us had was SO fun, so informative, so interesting that it simply enhanced the great service/product. I hope I don't shatter my screen again, but secretly I kind of do because these guys were so professional, so ethical, so business minded ... just totally refreshing! If you break your stuff... go to them... read more

Quick review. I thought I needed a new charging port on my 6S Plus but they said that's not necessary. They cleaned the port so that it's charging fine , didn't charge me, and wouldn't take a tip for slices or tacos. It was ( I guess) a simple job but they're super nice guys and I'd for sure use them again without hesitation. read more

This is my go-to for any device repairs for our family. They are fast, friendly and do a fantastic job. In the beginning, I priced screens and drove to -up repair from New Braunfels. They have had my business ever since. Thanks Guys! read more

I thought I.had struck out on getting the android system update I hoped would make a master reset unnecessary or getting rid of my phone. These guys listened to me and agreed to attempt the fix. They kept me updated along the way on wait time. They know their stuff and give excellent service. And they did this all as a courtesy! They made up for all that bad customer service from my carrier. And that is the highest praise I can give. They made my day! read more

GREAT Service, I took my Xbox one series S in to get a new hdmi port. They had it done in less than 24 hours and it was WAY cheaper than any other place around here. read more

I brought in my iPad to have the screen fixed. first time picking it up the screen still had lines appearing on the screen after they had the tablet 6 days. I returned the tablet for another screen fix free of charge... long story short picked the iPad up a 2nd time and the screen was popping out from the corners?! Anyways I return the iPad a 3rd time regarding the screen popping out. Finally I pick up the damn iPad 4th time and the screen is perfect but my damn home button is spinning around doing 360's. Just fed up man they give you a warranty for a damn reason because they fuck up more then they fix. BTW spent $205 read more

Wow. It's been a long time since I've had this good of a customer service with a repair. It exceeded my expectations and my initial $$ plan. I called maybe 6-8 places looking for the best deal to fix my son's iPhone. This one came up the cheapest so I stopped by. It's in a strip of stores so the parking was super easy. Lots of college students in and out. They were unbelievably nice, attentive, and helpful. Less than the time they estimated and it was ready. Less than they quoted was the actual cost!! They helped me get a better cover because the old one wouldn't let non-Apple chargers work and my son kept taking it off - thus the busted screen! I would definitely go here again if I needed to. With several iPhones in the family - it's highly likely that I will. read more

Danny helped me out with my laptop today and I couldn't be more pleased. He cleaned out some dust from my Mac in an attempt to prevent overheating, and he didn't even charge me for the service. All employees I interacted with were knowledgeable and friendly, I would definitely recommend! read more

My mom cracked her iPhone screen one afternoon & I had been calling around getting quotes on screen repair. We didn't want to send the phone in, or go all the way to Austin to the Apple Store. By chance, I saw a buddy of mine's mom's Facebook post later that day recommending 1Up Repairs because she herself cracked her phone screen. She said the guys were great & fixed her screen in 30 minutes. I called at 5:30 for a quote & talked to a super friendly associate named Matt who told me that for my mom's particular model it would be $69 for repair & take about half an hour. My mom & I went in around 5:45 & by 6:30 she had a new phone screen! The guys -- Matt & I think the other one's name was Jeremy? -- were helpful & gregarious. They explained the warranty & other returning customer benefits, & were happy to help my mother & I even though we went in almost near their closing time. I waited a few weeks to write this review because I wanted my mom to get a feel for her new screen & see if any issues came up. Knock on wood, but so far so good. I highly recommend this business & have sent a couple of my acquaintances to them already. It's fortunate there's a reasonably priced computer/phone repair shop in the area, & I'm happy to support this shop & their employees. read more

Writing this review in hopes of the owner seeing this. Had my phone screen fixed a month ago and everything was fine. Called today and had an issue due to the screen they installed was defective or something as the glue on the screen was falling off and would be coming up off of the actual iPhone. Gentleman inside said he could not help me even though they installed a bunk screen on my phone and I just needed one that was actually I working order. I already paid 120 for the phone to be fixed and it should have been fixed right and the guy told me the best thing they can do is barely cover it and pay another 90 dollars to replace. Absolutely terrible was a regular customer now not so sure. If the owner finds this please help. At San Marcos location read more

WOW!! I am blown away by their customer service and approach to customer satisfaction. I had them fix my cracked I phone and they completed the repair within 30 min. Since I was there I asked them about my IPad (that had been sitting in a drawer unusable for 3 yrs) that was deemed repairable by another company in San Marcos and if they could take a look at it. I dropped it off and about 1hr later they called and said it was fixed and ready for pick up. I didn't think it was able to be fixed but they got it working and now I have a functioning IPad! Thanks Matt!! I would highly recommend them to all who enjoys a pleasant, knowledgeable person to work on their devises. Plus they give discounts!!! read more

You should know going in that if you have your iPhone screen repaired that it's not gonna be the same quality. If you can afford it it's worth it to pay Apple because now my screen quality is very washed out and much less vivid. That said the service was great and it's an affordable option IF you don't mind having a less dynamic color/picture experience when using your phone. read more

I do not recommend coming here. Came to the San Marcos branch, for hopes that they could fix my iPhone 6 that has water damage. Claiming they had a 80% recovery rate and Best water recovery machine in a 200mile radius. Forgives this was a good place. I called around and found that phone repair shops take a look at the corrosive damage inside the phone from water and if they can save it they run it through the machine. Coming in, the employee claimed that the iPhone needs "work intensive labor". I myself repair iPhone lcds and can do it in about 20min from watching a YouTube video, so it shouldn't be too work intensive. Anyhow, I tell him I need it done ASAP and he tells me, he will have to stay up all late into the night. So I tell him don't worry about it and I will take my business elsewhere. He insists while giving me attitude and he can have it done the next morning. Again reminding my about the "work intensive labor" it needs and that there is always the chance that it won't work and I will not receive a refund. I am now getting agitated with the man. I wish I didn't agree. These guys remind me of vehicle repair shops who make every dollar off you possible and con there customers (typically young college kids who haven't the experience with Vehicle repair prices). Leaving with a bad taste in mouth and regretting dropping my phone off. The following morning around @11am I call to check on iPhone. I believe it was the same man I talked to the previous day. And he tells me the phone "doesn't work" and I says okay is there anything else? Details on what's wrong with it? He says no his technicians notes just say it doesn't work. This really gets me because now I just wasted 54.00 dollars for these guys to tell me the phone "doesn't work". I hope to talk to a manager when pick up the phone and will update my review from there. -Jared read more

I've only worked with Matt, and he's great. I've been to this location more times than I should have, I'm a frequent destroyer! They've hooked it up with a refurbished phone, new screens, and brought back a "dead" water soaked iphone back from the iphone grave. Excellent all the way around every time. Thanks fellas. read more

UPDATE: The guy that commented back and said that it appeared damaged but I hadn't dropped the phone since having the screen replaced and I have it in a hard case. They must just use low quality screens and then don't even plan on honoring their "lifetime guarantee". THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS. GO TO MOBILE PHONE GEEKS INSTEAD. Part of the screen on my phone was unresponsive so I took it to 1 up repairs to see what they can do. They said they would have to replace the screen and led and that would fix the problem. After an hour I went to pick it up and it seemed to work fine! They advertise a lifetime on their screen repairs from manufacturer defects. After less than 2 weeks, the bottom half of my screen became unresponsive. I took it back to take advantage of the guarantee but the man in charge looked at it and said it would be another $50 to fix it, and that he was basically doing me a favor by doing it for that price. The phone wasn't dropped and had been in a hard case and had no cracks! It was obviously a manufacturer defect so it should have been covered by the guarantee. What a waste of $90! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I got my phone screen fixed few month ago, like 100 some dollars. They said its life time warranty. After I break my screen last time I bought otter box to protect my phone and never took off.But last night I was watching YouTube and the screen suddenly shut off. I bring back they said I dropped it so they can't fix it. If I really dropped I won't waste my time to drive back and it's not right. But for sure it happened by itself. Anyway I am so disappoint and never go back. read more
