What a horrible experience I had at this business. I dropped my computer off on a Sunday. The employee (who was a pleasant young man) working that day didn't know anything about an Apple laptop....so less that he had to look on REDDIT on HIS computer to find out how to look up much storage my laptop was using. He had no idea how to find it! Even after reading it he couldn't figure it out. I ended up finding it. I needed a new keyboard because many of my keys were sticking/broken from the laptop being dropped during moving. I picked up my laptop a week later, and unfortunately didn't test the keyboard in the store. I don't use it much and didn't test it right away. A couple weeks later when I used it, I noticed the keys were uneven and felt off. The lighted keyboard also didn't work (it worked when I dropped it off). I took it back in when Gordon was working (different guy than the one on Sunday). What a horrible, unprofessional and smartass employee!! WOW!!!!!! I've had have my own business for over 30 years.......I couldn't imagine treating a customer like he treated me. He insinuated and basically accused me of spilling something on my keyboard. Pressure on keys were still uneven and backlight on my keyboard didn't work. Whomever installed it obviously didn't reconnect.....so now I type with a dark keyboard at night. Yes, I became angry and was appalled at his narcissistic and accusatory attitude. Asked me what the "residue" was on my keyboard. I walked out with my computer so fast and so mad and insulted.......NOTHING WAS SPILLED ON MY COMPUTER, GORDON!! It was their shoddy work and incompetency to install a keyboard that still isn't right!! He was absolutely disgusting to deal with. What a horrible representation of this business. I did call the Austin stores to share the story. According to the Austin stores, they're not connected, but students at Texas State should be warned about the quality of the San Marcos store. read more

The guy is a liar. Said it would be $200 to completely replace the screen on my iPhone, agreed to the price and left my phone. When I can back the screen placed on my phone had the quality of an iPhone 6 and was just horrible, then on top of that the screen just stopped working 3 days after service. When I went in to try and talk to him about it he said that the "proper" iPhone screen would be $615 on top of what I already paid. read more

Terrible experience. 1Up Repairs promised me a free phone repair after my service if there were any issues with the phone . My phone screen wasn't even repaired correctly in the first place and then turned around and charged me another $100 anyway. Their excuse? Because there was "water damage".That was never explained to me upfront at first and my phone screen was only very badly cracked with no water damage .This is dishonest and feels like a scam. If they can't keep their word, how can customers trust them? I'll never come back here, and I'd warn anyone else to stay away. read more

Wow. It's been a long time since I've had this good of a customer service with a repair. It exceeded my expectations and my initial $$ plan. I called maybe 6-8 places looking for the best deal to fix my son's iPhone. This one came up the cheapest so I stopped by. It's in a strip of stores so the parking was super easy. Lots of college students in and out. They were unbelievably nice, attentive, and helpful. Less than the time they estimated and it was ready. Less than they quoted was the actual cost!! They helped me get a better cover because the old one wouldn't let non-Apple chargers work and my son kept taking it off - thus the busted screen! I would definitely go here again if I needed to. My mom cracked her iPhone screen one afternoon & I had been calling around getting quotes on screen repair. We didn't want to send the phone in, or go all the way to Austin to the Apple Store. By chance, I saw a buddy of mine's mom's Facebook post later that day recommending 1Up Repairs because she herself cracked her phone screen. She said the guys were great & fixed her screen in 30 minutes. I called at 5:30 for a quote & talked to a super friendly associate named Matt who told me that for my mom's particular model it would be $69 for repair & take about half an hour. My mom & I went in around 5:45 & by 6:30 she had a new phone screen! The guys -- Matt & I think the other one's name was Jeremy? -- were helpful & gregarious. They explained the warranty & other returning customer benefits, & were happy to help my mother & I even though we went in almost near their closing time. I waited a few weeks to write this review because I wanted my mom to get a feel for her new screen & see if any issues came up. Knock on wood, but so far so good. I highly recommend this business & have sent a couple of my acquaintances to them already. Writing this review in hopes of the owner seeing this. Had my phone screen fixed a month ago and everything was fine. Called today and had an issue due to the screen they installed was defective or something as the glue on the screen was falling off and would be coming up off of the actual iPhone. Gentleman inside said he could not help me even though they installed a bunk screen on my phone and I just needed one that was actually I working order. I already paid 120 for the phone to be fixed and it should have been fixed right and the guy told me the best thing they can do is barely cover it and pay another 90 dollars to replace. WOW!! I am blown away by their customer service and approach to customer satisfaction. I had them fix my cracked I phone and they completed the repair within 30 min. Since I was there I asked them about my IPad (that had been sitting in a drawer unusable for 3 yrs) that was deemed repairable by another company in San Marcos and if they could take a look at it. I dropped it off and about 1hr later they called and said it was fixed and ready for pick up. I didn't think it was able to be fixed but they got it working and now I have a functioning IPad! You should know going in that if you have your iPhone screen repaired that it's not gonna be the same quality. If you can afford it it's worth it to pay Apple because now my screen quality is very washed out and much less vivid. That said the service was great and it's an affordable option IF you don't mind having a less dynamic color/picture experience when using your phone. read more

I do not recommend coming here. Came to the San Marcos branch, for hopes that they could fix my iPhone 6 that has water damage. Claiming they had a 80% recovery rate and Best water recovery machine in a 200mile radius. Forgives this was a good place. I called around and found that phone repair shops take a look at the corrosive damage inside the phone from water and if they can save it they run it through the machine. Coming in, the employee claimed that the iPhone needs "work intensive labor". I myself repair iPhone lcds and can do it in about 20min from watching a YouTube video, so it shouldn't be too work intensive. Anyhow, I tell him I need it done ASAP and he tells me, he will have to stay up all late into the night. So I tell him don't worry about it and I will take my business elsewhere. He insists while giving me attitude and he can have it done the next morning. Again reminding my about the "work intensive labor" it needs and that there is always the chance that it won't work and I will not receive a refund. I am now getting agitated with the man. I wish I didn't agree. These guys remind me of vehicle repair shops who make every dollar off you possible and con there customers (typically young college kids who haven't the experience with Vehicle repair prices). Leaving with a bad taste in mouth and regretting dropping my phone off. The following morning around @11am I call to check on iPhone. I believe it was the same man I talked to the previous day. And he tells me the phone "doesn't work" and I says okay is there anything else? Details on what's wrong with it? He says no his technicians notes just say it doesn't work. This really gets me because now I just wasted 54.00 dollars for these guys to tell me the phone "doesn't work". UPDATE: The guy that commented back and said that it appeared damaged but I hadn't dropped the phone since having the screen replaced and I have it in a hard case. They must just use low quality screens and then don't even plan on honoring their "lifetime guarantee". THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS. GO TO MOBILE PHONE GEEKS INSTEAD. Part of the screen on my phone was unresponsive so I took it to 1 up repairs to see what they can do. They said they would have to replace the screen and led and that would fix the problem. After an hour I went to pick it up and it seemed to work fine! They advertise a lifetime on their screen repairs from manufacturer defects. After less than 2 weeks, the bottom half of my screen became unresponsive. I took it back to take advantage of the guarantee but the man in charge looked at it and said it would be another $50 to fix it, and that he was basically doing me a favor by doing it for that price. The phone wasn't dropped and had been in a hard case and had no cracks! It was obviously a manufacturer defect so it should have been covered by the guarantee. What a waste of $90! I was thinking I was pulling up to Mobile Geeks and I'm glad I mixed these two up. I got a tiny amount of liquid on the face of my iPhone XS and it went into the front earpiece and damaged this chip/cable that regulates Face ID, the ear speaker, and somehow the battery. My phone wouldn't hold a charge past 3%, and only turned on sporadically. I brought it in, and Jeremy immediately took it apart, assessed which part was damaged (the cable, not the battery as I'd thought), and even though 1up wasn't able to replace the chip (Apple only), he offered to dry it the best he could and left the phone open and under a heating element to dry the innards, and gave me the best, cheapest suggestion going forward. Amazing, quick, and courteous customer service. Treated as an equal and not simply as a number. Will recommend and return to this place for as long as they're in business based simply off of Jeremy. read more
