The lady waisted time cleaning things that don't matter. I don't mind paying but trying to cheat me out of time so that u can get more money is lazy work. I will never use them again. I booked a one-time 4-hour deep cleaning service for a place with existing tenants and neglected maintenance, and emphasized my top target priority areas were the kitchen and floors. After a free in-home quote, and researching and calling 7 other places, I decided to go with Spectacular Cleaning because of their availability and willingness to do an in-home quote. Since this is my first time hiring professional cleaners, I was nervous about the results and whether they would finish the job on time/within our budget and to my request. During the deep cleaning service, the first 1.5 hours flew by because the staff were mostly talking and took their break early; there wasn't much progress on the kitchen and floors. At the last hour, they rushed to finish cleaning the kitchen, and asked for an extra 30 mins, which I said yes to. I even joined them to clean the stove in the last hour (and after they left); and not to my surprise, they apologized and said that this was all they could do and couldn't finish the job, attributing it to years of hard grease stains. While true, I felt that they could have managed their time better. They then tried to charge me for the extra 30 mins, which I was unhappy about - because that was not in the quote, and it was due to their time mismanagement. (Also, our place is quite small.) Ms. Olivia, the owner, came by to check out the "finished" job, and was also unhappy with the results herself. She personally came by the next day and spent another 2 hours deep cleaning our kitchen, including inside, under, and around the fridge, deep cleaning our stove grates, stove top, and the hood, kitchen floor, and our sink. The results were stunning - and you could tell that this was truly a *deep clean*!!! For example, the stove hood was shining and squeaky clean! While I was initially disappointed because I felt that my time was not respected, I am IN AWE and EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to Ms. Olivia for doing her due diligence in making sure the results were truly spectacular and to her standard and what was communicated in the initial quote. Since she knew that I cared about a clean home, she even left behind some cleaning products and showed me how to deep clean certain areas of the kitchen --- which I am extremely grateful for. SH quoted on 2 jobs; first was completed 9/8. Asked for exteriors only on kitchen cabs cleaned, plus kitchen & DR floors washed. Also needed main floor bathroom walls & floors washed. A pair of housecleaners came and did an incredible job - far more thorough than I had asked for! This was a real, thorough, deep cleaning of rooms that hadn't been thoroughly scrubbed since we moved in 30 yrs. ago. These ladies were INCREDIBLE. They worked like crazy with only a short break for lunch, brought their own supplies/vacuum. We cleared some of the counters but not all, but they cleaned the exteriors of EVERYTHING - refrig, DW, stove, rangehood. The counters, molding and backsplash were all scrubbed. They even cleaned inside our toaster oven and countertop MW! There were stains on our LVT flooring I hadn't been able to get out (with a bad back and knees, I couldn't get down to scrub as it needed), and these ladies got out every speck of dirt. We are talking vacuuming, then mopping, and then on hands & knees for the final cleaning! That was way more effort than I expected. The bathroom walls sparkle again (we live near a freeway, and 32 yrs of dust - ugh). Even our grungy rubber bathmat was scrubbed clean. I am super-impressed with the quality of work. They came on time, and even emptied the trash bags and relined them. Yes, it took longer than quoted, but trust me, at 70+ yrs old, I KNOW how much work to do what they did, and it's worth every penny. The ladies at SH totally earned their pay and my respect. They were terrific workers, and I'm looking forward to the second appt to wash our windows next week. We still have some updating projects for our contractor to do, but once those are done we hope to have SH come out on a regular basis to clean (especially now that a stray cat adopted us - this furbaby sheds like crazy, LOL). read more

Saved the day on my move-in. I had movers scheduled and went to inspect my new apartment. The reason for 3 stars is the value of what you get. The company's pricing is ridiculous. Let me be clear: the actual cleaning had great attention to detail and is done very well. It's $100 per hour for two cleaners to come. That's $50 per hour per cleaner (I'm certain that is not what the actual cleaners are paid). Our home is 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom + living spaces. The cleaners said it would take FOUR HOURS for two people to do the job; including only one bedroom as the other didn't need anything done. Our house is not excessively dirty, we have had it professionally cleaned once per week for the last month. We agreed to stop at 2.5 hours, for $250 the cleaners got our kitchen, bathroom and partial floors cleaned. That's it! Again, the work that got done was excellent. The actual cleaners are GREAT. For a few years and before the pandemic, we used a different cleaning service. They did a decent job, but they were always a little underwhelming. Areas would be overlooked and communication with management was just okay. Once the pandemic started we had to let them go for our own safety, but there was a little bit of resentment over the service we were getting. They did a really great job, but it was on the expensive side. My place is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and about 1000 square feet. They claimed it would take 5-6 hours, I said I only wanted 2 and they obliged. I ended up adding 1/2 hour to my 2 and the cost was $250. WOW! Have you ever stepped into a home and been blown away by how clean it is? Never in a lifetime would I expect that from my own apartment but Spectacular did just that! I called about a week in advance because I was having my fiance's parents visit us for the weekend and we needed the professional help. We both work 50-60 hours a week so we hardly have the time to do any of the cleaning and most importantly the deep cleaning of our apartment. It's important to mention that with the little free time that we have, we love to cook so our kitchen was specifically the biggest mess. Add in our two dogs and the fact that we have not cleaned since moving in about a year ago, well you can imagine how tough of a job this was going to be. The attention to detail that the two ladies who cleaned our home had was incredible! To be honest I don't think our apartment was this CLEAN when we first moved in. They were able to get all of the grease stains from our stove and countertops, leave our bathrooms sparkling white, and remove all the dust and dirt from the surfaces. We even asked if they could do some additional tasks like wash our dog's food/water bowls and clean the toaster oven out entirely. We were very pleased with all the work that they did! Pricing wise, there were no surprises as the two ladies let us know an approximate time they would spend cleaning and were actually able to get it done about 15 minutes faster than they mentioned. While the cleaning crew did a good job, this Olivia supervisor is just in the business of ripping off people. I hired this company in Aug of last year. They cleaned a 2 bedrooms apt in 3.5 hours, a good job. I hired them again this year to clean the same apt. Last year, there was no Olivia character, this year, this Olivia showed up as a supervisor. Keep in mind the apt is in much better shape than last year, but Olivia just opened her mouth wide and quoted me estimate of 6-7 hours!!!! It was a waste of time to even deal with people like that. I had to talk to the office and explained it was a 3.5 hour job last year. After going back and forth, wasting time, they completed the cleaning in 3.25 hours, comparable to last year. So, how do you explain the initial outrageous quote of 6-7 hours? Because the cleaning crew (not Olivia person) did a good job, I decided to hire them to do another apt, this time a small studio. I only needed them to clean kitchen and bathroom and nothing else. This Olivia character showed up again and quoted me 3 hours (remember they just completed 2 bedrooms cleaning at 3.25 hours?). This made me angry. I asked Olivia if I looked stupid to her???? She walked out the job. I am so glad she walked out. This Olivia character is just focused on inflating the number of hours to rip people off instead of focusing on cleaning because they charge by the hour! We have used Spectacular for two years now. We started by asking them to do an every other week cleaning of our guest unit, and now we have them doing a weekly cleaning of our own home. I have to admit here that I thought I already kept our space pretty clean. After Spectacular finished the first deep clean of my house I realized I had no idea what clean was. And now I can't go back. Spectacular has reasonable policies about timing and payment: if it's been a while they insist on a deep cleaning; if they come more often the visits cost less, etc. They communicate by text messaging or calling as you prefer (I am very grateful for text messages!) I don't typically write reviews, but since we had spectacular housekeeping, clean our house, I have found numerous areas that we're just not clean or cleaned very poorly. We hired spectacular housekeeping to do a deep cleaning of our house after some renovations and prior to our moving in. This is a special service they advertise on their website. They have great reviews so we felt comfortable hiring them. We paid over $800 for two people to clean all day. For this sum, we expected a pretty high quality service. Unfortunately, since moving in, it is a near daily occurrence that I find areas that were cleaned poorly or not at all. Our house is ~1500sqft so I thought maybe it was due to the size, but we had them only clean in the kitchen, bathroom, living and dining rooms. The house was totally empty since we hadn't moved in yet, which should have made this a straightforward operation. The kitchen floor was poorly mopped with grime still on the floor and built up in the corners (I mopped again before we moved in). Kitchen cabinet hardware wasn't touched. The floor in the bathroom had buildup around the legs of the vanity cabinet that they left, and the list goes on. They spent a lot of time on the shower door and stove which both looked good, but the stove had been in nearly pristine condition prior to their cleaning so I'm not sure why they prioritized this. Ultimately we felt we paid WAY too much for a mediocre cleaning that I probably could have done alone in half a day. I would spend your money elsewhere. read more
