Unfortunately, we had no choice but to get some assistance being parents of three young children with another on the way. We do our best to keep up with the day to day cleaning, but we were in need of a good deep cleaning to help feel more ready for our new baby. I found this company, and am SO GLAD I did. The invoicing and scheduling process was seamless. They were on time. And when I say they did a PHENOMAL job, I truly mean it. As a true home body, home is my safe space. They were gentle with our home, but tough on dirt. I felt respected, valued, and appreciated as a customer. I didn't feel like I had to helicopter over them to make sure they did everything. The products they used smelled good and still got up everything you can imagine that 6, 4, and 1 year olds can produce. Her price was lower than everyone else we had called, and she had availability to come out right away. We never saw the handiwork before our new tenants moved in, as we were out of state, but upon our return back to DC, we called ECJ again in desperation to clean the main house. We had been away for nearly 3 months, and it turns out that an unoccupied house can get pretty gross. We had a rude welcome back full of dead bugs, mouse poop, cobwebs, dirt and dust (how?!) and an overall staleness. Well, in two hours, Emely's team of two zoomed through our house and made it SO clean. They. didn't. miss. a. beat. The trash/recycling was taken out and the inside of the trash can was clean! The inside of appliances and the refrigerator - clean! Radiators, corners, stairs, railings, window sills: clean, clean, clean. Spotless. The women worked fast and efficiently, they brought their own supplies and left the place spotless and smelling that wonderful sanitized scent. I'm always hesitant to hire out cleaning services because I always say that no one will clean your house like you will and pay attention to the detail and get all the nooks and crannies that these old DC houses have. I went through "yelp projects" to request quotes from several cleaning companies for a move out clean. ECJs full move out clean was the most comprehensive and reasonably priced ($199 for a 2 bed, one bath of about 1000 square feet) and they had great reviews. I messaged with two of the owners and booked a clean for a Sunday a few weeks out (they are one of only few cleaners with Sunday availability which was a plus). They confirmed and said their cleaning crew would be there between 9-10 am. Because we had been communicating via Yelp chat, I requested a formal confirmation which was sent to me via text by the owner. The owner mentioned in the text that the cleaners would be there between 8/8:30. I didn't think anything of the discrepancy at the time. On the day of the cleaning, I texted the owner at 7:45 to ask for an updated ETA. 8 am came and went, as did 8:30. I texted a few times, and I called with no response. 9 am came and went and so I desperately emailed with an address I found on their site, messaged via Yelp again and DM'ed them on Instagram. By 10 am I still had heard nothing and I had to leave to go pick up a rental car (I was leaving town and had a 6 hour drive ahead of me). Finally at 10:30 I received a text from the owner apologizing, stating they had written down our appointment for Monday. She offered to send a team out in about an hour but it was already too late and I had to leave. She said she would give me a call to coordinate a rescheduling but by 1:45 pm I still had not heard. I texted again to follow up and she finally called me. We scheduled the cleaning for Monday morning at 11:30 and she offered a discount to make up for it. I was honestly nervous about potential flakiness especially because our move out inspection with our management company was at 2 pm the next day which would impact our ability to receive our security deposit back in full. I put a lot of trust in them that they would show, after feeling pretty let down that day. My roommate got to the apartment at 11 on Monday to wait for the cleaners and at 11:30 they still had not arrived. She called the owner who was confused saying the team had wrapped up a previous cleaning at around 9:30. My roommate went downstairs to our lobby to see if they were there. Half an hour later she ultimately found them at a nearby building, waiting, as if they did not know where to go or have any way to contact the owner to figure out where to go. The team of three came and cleaned the apartment top to bottom and were finished in about 2 hours. Overall, this experience was far more stressful than it had any reason to be and I actually ended up incurring with several unnecessary costs as a result (I would have left town the night before if I knew the cleaners were coming Monday so one extra night in a hotel, I also missed my car rental reservation waiting for the cleaners so I had to pay extra to get to and rent from another location). The owner was mildly apologetic but not as on top of rectifying the situation as I would have liked. The discount was much appreciated and the quality of the actual service luckily made up for it. I would recommend to the business to implement a more formal appointment confirmation system and improve communication with clients. And as a client, make sure you double, triple confirm in advance and get multiple forms of direct contact information for the owner/team.

Sorry...but my experience was much different than the other reviews. Maybe it was just the crew I got but they left a LOT to be desired (and cleaned !!) They arrived on-time and I showed them around at what I wanted to have done. I specifically told them that there had been some renovation work done in my condo and I wanted a very good dusting of everything because I had guests coming to stay with me. Because I wanted the place to be really clean, I paid extra for the "deep cleaning" and the "move in / move out"...which according to their website would have them "pay more attention to details (make your home look brand new)".......I seem to remember my place looking much differently when I moved in ! I wanted to stay out of their way so I went out and ran some errands. When I returned about 90 minutes later they said they were just finishing up. One of the ladies walked me around a few places and showed me the work she had done (primarily in the living room and back bedroom). I could also tell they had cleaned the kitchen area and stove. What I saw looked fine and I made the mistake of assuming that the rest of the place had received the same amount of attention...boy was I wrong. Apparently the lady showed me the only places they did pay any attention to. After they left I found many places that had not been dusted at all (primarily picture frames on walls and objects that were on shelves). What really got to me was that I also found several areas where they had basically wiped down the front "easy to reach" places on shelves but made absolutely no effort to pick up items and dust under them, or even dust between items....just a quick swipe along the front of the shelf and that was it. I also found the guest bathroom mirror was wiped down, but that streaks remained all over the mirror (almost like they had used dirty water or something to clean it). In addition, the master bath shower door looked like had been sprayed with some kind of cleaning solution but no effort had been made to clean it off of the parts of the door that were close to the floor. One whole corner of the master bedroom wasn't touched. Admittedly I had 5 or 6 rolled up posters in the corner and I did not move them out of the way. I guess I just expected that they would be moved by the crew.....but there were no instructions or guidelines provided to me prior to the crew getting there that I needed to move any objects that were in the way of areas I would like to have cleaned. Yes...I can be faulted for not looking at everything in fine detail before the cleaning crew left. I made the bad assumption that my whole place was cleaned as well as the areas I was specifically shown. Lesson learned.
