I hired All Nation Restoration for remediation work in my home. During the project, one of their…read moretechnicians used bleach in a carpeted area without putting down plastic, tarps, or other protective floor covering. This resulted in permanent bleach damage in multiple areas of my high-quality, continuously installed Berber carpet, including highly visible areas in the middle of the room. What disappointed me most was not simply that damage occurred, but how All Nation handled it afterward. The company initially characterized the damage as something that can occur during remediation work despite taking precautions. In my case, there was no floor protection in the affected area. Their project manager came to my home shortly after I discovered the damage and saw the area firsthand. All Nation's own carpet professional subsequently advised in writing that repairs could look good but "possibly not perfect" and that replacement would be the alternative because a matching carpet was unlikely to be available. My independent carpet professional reached the same conclusion and recommended replacement. In an effort to compromise, I obtained a $2,400 estimate to replace only the affected common areas rather than the continuous carpet installation throughout my entire second floor. All Nation had offered a $1,000 credit, so I asked them to contribute an additional $1,400 toward this solution. They declined, characterizing replacement as my "preference." Yes, I do prefer my home to be returned to me in the condition in which they found it. I ultimately attempted the less expensive repair option using my own carpet professional. Unfortunately, the result confirmed what both carpet professionals had predicted: the repaired area remains visibly distinguishable from the surrounding Berber carpet. I am now left with a permanent, noticeable flaw in a high-traffic area of what had previously been a uniform, continuous carpet installation. My concern was never that I wanted a discount or that I was trying not to pay them (I have since made final payment). My concern was that the damage occurred during work performed without floor protection and that All Nation treated offering a credit and the ability to patch the carpet as sufficient, regardless of whether the repair actually restored it to its prior condition. I believe a restoration company should take reasonable precautions to protect a customer's property and, when preventable damage occurs, work toward a solution that reasonably restores the property to its prior condition. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and it is the reason for my rating.

We were referred to this contractor by Radiant, who overcharged us by more than 50% to replace our…read morehot water heater. It should come as no surprise based on their affiliation with Radiant that Restoration 1 also overcharges their customers. We were quoted almost $6,000 for water mitigation after our hot water heater sprung a leak. Fortunately, my husband caught something incorrect on the estimate (an extra 0-so one line item was being charged at $1,440 instead of $144). Whether this was intentional or not, I can't say, but you can make up your own mind. After that error was rectified, it brought our estimate down to about $4,300, which was still twice as much as the estimate we received from another contractor later. Nearly $1,200 of this estimate was for "trip charges", which they danced around when asked about. We are in Round Rock and the technicians would have had to drive out for about four days to set up the equipment and take moisture readings, but even with gas prices being what they are this charge seemed absurd. Funnily enough, no such charge was listed as a line item on the second (and much more reasonable) quote we received a few days later. We had just had a baby and were in the midst of the newborn trenches when the tech came out. He knew this (we literally had a chat about it with him) and he still tried to price gouge us. This company is obviously trying to make a quick and is willing to take advantage of people to do so. If you're looking for a company that has integrity, look elsewhere.

I called them out to snake a clog because they were fast and reasonably priced when I called 4…read moreyears ago. This time they didn't give me a quote in advance and it was 50% more than last time. They had someone come out with a camera without informing me that it would be an extra charge. The guy with the camera told me my cast iron pipes were so "rotten" that I needed to replace them on an emergency basis and that I shouldn't even flush toilet paper in the meantime. He quoted me $43000 (my house is less than 1000 sq ft with 1 bathroom). He made up a weird story about having to promise to work overtime to get me a "discount" even though he "doesn't work on commission", I guess so I would feel pressured since he was supposedly doing me a favor. That plus the supposed urgency made me wary because that's exactly how scammers operate. I had a much more reputable company out the next day to get a second opinion and come to find out, not only are my pipes completely fine and expected to last at least 3-5 more years, but the actual going rate when I do need the work is less than $20000. So I wasted time and energy trying to figure out how to pay for this "emergency repair" plus the fee for the 2nd company to run the camera for literally no reason. Roto-Rooter clearly saw a female homeowner and assumed I would make a good mark. I will never call them again. PS it's weirdly convenient that in the response to literally every 1 star review, they're "not able to find your records in our system."
