Passed by this place a thousand times, decided to stop in on a Wednesday night. They were not busy at all, and i was hoping for a slice, but there were slim pickings. I ordered a medium plain pie. As I waited I used the restroom-the entire restaurant was very clean. $16 for a medium-nor a crazy price but a little higher than i expected. Pizza wasn't bad, but I must say that sometimes less is more. This pizza had so much cheese that it was sliding all over. I was on the road, so it made it difficult to separate the slices without getting messy. Sauce was good, cheese was ok, though there was too much, crust was good. I would consider trying this place again, but would try a different pie. read more

Skimming the Customers. Today marks the fifth time that this pizza place played games with their prices. First time happened at the beginning of the pandemic (around May 2020). They had their posted menu board prices (from three years ago), their expired prices on their paper menu in the store and their Covid Prices (10% add-on). No problem. Support your local businesses. Approximately three visits during the rest of 2020 and into 2021 had the same results. Good food. Inflated prices hoping you are not checking your receipt or adding up the prices, particularly on take-out food. Today, four sets of prices. Menu Board price, paper menu price offered at the restaurant, cash register computer price and the online price. Who knew that brooklyn pizza is a real thing? I mean like a different thing. This square pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh tomatoes reversed , and thin but not too crispy crust is a delicious change of pace from the more or less standard Philadelphia versions offered up by the vast majority of ubiquitous pizza joints that litter our landscape. The plum tomato sauce, yes please. My family ordered 4 pizzas (2 Trenton, 2 Brooklyn) to-go and every single one of us, kids included, devoured it....then talked about it for an extended period of time. Zeppoli. Ever heard of it!? Well do your life a favor and order it now. Fried pizza dough. If that doesn't make your mouth water then order a salad (they have those too) and call it a day. Food is good. Customer service is not great. They advertise a Tuesday Special really big on the front of their menu but they won't honor it unless you specifically ask for it and it's about a $7 difference per pie. That's just shady business, not a friendly neighborhood pizza shop. When my wife (at home with a two week old newborn) ordered two pies and I picked them up on my way home, yet don't specifically ask for the special they charged us $14 extra. When I first called to ask for a refund, they offered me a credit on my next order because the manager was busy. I told them I'd call back later and they eventually did call back and refund the difference, but they also said about 3 times that I should ask for the special next time. Again, are you a friendly neighborhood pizza shop, or are you trying to squeeze every dollar you can out of people? read more

We've been going to Spatola's since they opened but have recently had to start ordering elsewhere. The food is great but the wait times are ridiculous. They really need to get more ovens. Anytime you order after 5pm expect to have to wait at least an hour or more for a plain pizza. When you walk in it's quiet and usually you'll see about 10 people all standing around waiting and looking at their phones. Do.Not.Order.what they call 'Chicago Pizza.' Ordered online 4 pizzas online, said it'd be delivered in 45. Took 2 hours to be delivered. Pizzas were COLD. The 3 regular pizzas were okay. The 'Chicago Pizza' was supposed to be loaded with pepperonis, sausage, peppers, onions, etc. and EXTRA cheese. What was derived was some lackluster focaccia with some tomato sauce slapped on top, MINIMAL CHEESE and no toppings except mushrooms. This place has gone downhill since we started ordering from here in 2020. We noticed that their large pizzas had such thin dough that the middle of the pie was just a soggy mess. So we started ordering small pizzas because the dough wasn't rolled so thin. Well now even the small pies are rolled paper thin. We placed an online order for delivery which totaled over $60. The order status told us that we would receive our order in 55 - 65 minutes. It took 2 hours. The food was cold and gross. Who woulda thought Downingtown would have a bomb pizza joint like this. It looks like an old wawa converted into a pretty nice pizza place. I work in the area, and we needed to buy a quick bite for lunch for the office. I literally Yelped pizza and this had a best reviews I ordered a pie of Brooklyn Style Pizza..it took 20mins. It's a square pizza with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and olive oil. It's was so good! Perfectly thin slices, not too crispy, and each piece was covered in cheese and tomatoes. Even the crust was good! It's a nice change to taste fresh flavors on a slice. We ordered a pie for 4 people, and we killed it. On my quest to find above average pizza near Upper Uwchlan township, I noticed Spatola's with 4 stars on 7 reviews, so I'll try it out. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, and a buffalo chicken cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions. It was all average. While nothing wrong with it, the pizza was not memorable at all. The only thing that jumped out at me was that it was very greasy. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak could have used more hot sauce. I was also disappointed to find out that they do not deliver, not a major strike, but when there are so many pizza places in the area, what's up with that??? We ordered our food on the Slice app but there's not much of a review option. First, the food was prompt, I'll give it that. The driver was friendly as well. Not bad. We only had two problems with our order. The pizza was fine, fries and mozzarella sticks were fine as well. Come to the poppers. They were smashed in the bottom of the bag in a mushy messy pile of what looks like cheez whiz, and not actual cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs and jalapeños. As for the Greek pizza, I nearly broke a tooth on a pit of one of the kalamata olives! I'm not ok with this and have ordered many items in the past with those and other olives and this did not happen. Am I the idiot here and should have checked every single olive on the slice before eating it?! I think it's absurd that a restaurant doesn't do this themselves as part of prep to avoid this from ever happening. I may have found my new go-to pizza place in the Lionville/Downingtown area. First thing as you walk in, the staff greets you and makes it very welcoming. I got the Brooklyn and a pepperoni pizza. Brooklyn Pizza lives up to the Yelp hype! One of the best Sicilian pizza's I've had. Sauce is a sweeter variation from the plum tomatoes and is flavorful with spices. Pepperoni is pretty standard, no qualms at all. After having the Brooklyn, I'm curious to try the Trenton. I'll be back for sure. Friendly staff, delicious food, can't beat it. read more

stopped in on a Tuesday evening. staff was friendly and they had a decent amount of take-out service. ordered a buffalo chicken cheesesteak and a large pie to dine in. the roll was very good - it held up great with the buffalo sauce. the buffalo sauce was tasty. it wasn't overpowering. the plain pizza was very good. only knock was that it was a bit too greasy. thin which is how i like it/ we eat it folded like a taco. crust was thick and not a burn mark on the pie. we will come back to sample some of the specialty pizzas. read more

I had lunch here. It was not very busy. A couple of people in the restaurant that's about it. I ordered a panini with roasted peppers and mozzarella. Paninis are supposed to be made with a sliced bread and then you grill it or put it in a press. What I received was a small, squashed grinder that was put in the oven with very little roasted pepper. This place has been open for about a month now, and like all new restaurants in the area I was curious to see what they had to offer. I must say though, I was a little hesitant to give this place a try because of how consistently good the pizza is from our local go-to pizza shop (Coco's). Nonetheless, some neighbors had tried the pizza here and said it was good so we figured it would be worth giving it a try. My wife was hungry for Sicilian pizza tonight, so we decided to order from Spatola's and see what they had to offer. With that said, this review is based solely on the Sicilian pizza. When I arrived to pick up the pizza, I was impressed by the renovated decor and cleanliness. This is definitely a place I would bring the family to for lunch or dinner. I eagerly drove home to get my hands on a slice of deliciousness that I had smelled all the way home. After sinking my teeth into the first bite, I am happy to say that Downingtown now has another option for good pizza! Spatola's delivered on all three elements of a good pizza: 1) Crust with a nice crunch on the bottom and edges, yet chewy, 2) Sauce that's great tasting with all of the right spices, and 3) Quality cheese that doesn't leave a puddle of grease on your plate. I ate 6 slices (atypical for me!), so anything less than a great review wouldn't be fair. At $15.75, they are a touch higher priced than most local places but I am always willing to pay for quality eats. Spatola's, well done. You have lured me in with your Sicilian pizza, so I will most certainly be back to try the traditional pizza and other menu items. Got food delivered and it ran late on a Friday to which I could understand but when I called to find out the status of my order I was yelled at and told I exaggerated the time in which it was late. We used the online ordering service and arrived at the given time, approximately 30 minutes after when we ordered. When we arrived, they did not recognize our order and just then pulled it from the printer to begin making it. This cost us about another 25 minutes of waiting in the shop. We then reviewed our order when they said it was ready only to fine an entire meal missing and another made incorrectly. We waited another 10 minutes for them to provide the missing item. Maybe I got the wrong thing as everyone raves about the pizza but I didn't think the so called Italian hoagie was very good. It was edible but doesn't measure up to Carmines. So, my husband and I are in love with your Greek Pizza. We love it. It's delicious. When I went to pick up my order today it wasn't ready, was never received on Spatola's end. Today wasn't the first day this has happened. Okay, fine whatever. I showed them the email I received after I placed my order. They asked me to write down my order. I did. They made it on the spot. Awesome! When I get home my large cheese pizza that was supposed to have half bacon and half pepperoni IS JUST CHEESE.
