I went here the week before my wedding for their hydrafacial. I had recently been burned by my eyebrow wax and had scabs on my eyebrows. I also had large pores and acne scars on my face. No joke, after this facial, my skin was glowing. In the next day or two, my scabs had healed, and my face to this day hasn't never looked this good. Unfortunately had the tied-for-worst massage experience here. I say unfortunate because they were kind enough and the facilities are clean, all of which earn that 2nd star. I had been anticipating a long, stressful week at a conference with hundreds others. As any ambivert or introvert knows, talking to that many people is quite tiresome - on the mind and on the body. Aside from how great the conference was, I was looking SO forward to this massage. Massages are one of the great self indulgences I allow myself to enjoy every once in a while. So when my husband found this nice spa at an average price, I was thrilled. We decided on a couples massage so we could enjoy my long week together. I requested a Swedish massage to soothe my hurting body: a style I'm accustomed to after the ever indulgent quarterly massage. As she started on my back, I was confused. Is she just getting started? Is she just trying to rub the lotion all over my back? I can assure you, the smarting lower portion of my back was crying for more as she simply rubbed lotion over it... for quite some time. I finally spoke up to ask for more pressure, as she hadn't yet asked. "More pressure? Okay." She pressed in again, for about 2 minutes, and then returned to her standard lotion rubbing. I was beginning to feel bad for this girl as I could hear her breathing heavily... perhaps a massage with any pressure at all was not her style. But then I said f it I'm paying for this... so after giving her a few more minutes' chance to increase the pressure to no success, I once again reminded her. "More pressure please." She would increase the pressure on awkward parts of my body, like aggressively pushing out the knots with little warm-up, and then just slide over my larger muscles. Her technique was quite awkward as I explained to the front desk manager: both inconsistent as well as uneven. I couldn't wait for the massage to end. I spoke to the front desk manager after the masseuse (who hovered nearby the whole time) left, wanting to tell her personally my concerns before writing it here. They were gracious enough to give my tip money back, but I will sadly not be supporting this business. TL;DR: unless you want to be slapped around your body with dead fish-like hands, I'd steer away from the possibility of masseuses like that, here. read more

After a hard week in the gym, I woke up yesterday not feeling so hot. Past injuries were definitely reminding me they were not so in the past. So after an hour in the gym, I was feeling more like 97 than 37. I'm not from this area, so I hopped online to find a good place to get a massage. I found a STEAL of a deal at Spatacular for a 90 minute massage. Like most people, my initial worries about going somewhere new for a massage are as follows: 1. Is this a legit spa or is it going to be featured on COPS next week? 2. Is it going to be clean or am I going to feel gross about getting onto the massage table? 3. Will I get a good massage or am I about to pay to have someone either bruise me with an elbow or just play patty cake on my back? Well, it's a legit spa; nothing shady or questionable about it, the place was immaculately clean and my massage therapist was professional and gave me a great massage. I all but crawled into their lobby because I was so sore, but 90 mins later my body was relaxed and it was time and money well spent. Got a $30 Groupon deal for 1 hour so that's how I found out about it. Tucked away in a small corner of the plaza, they definitely did a good job of making sure their sign stood out. There is plenty of parking too. While the outside wasn't anything special, the inside was very classy and had free coffee, tea, and water. It felt like a really upscale spa place that could have fit in Newport Beach because they had a very nice indoor koi fountain with giant koi and lots of plants. My masseuse was a nice petite Chinese mom who didn't speak much English but really knew what she was doing. I got led into a nice dimly lit room playing classical music and had beige and lavender notes. She left the room so I could strip down to my birthday suit and laid face down on their massage bed with the provided sheet on top of me. There is a hole in the bed for your face, so no worries about suffocation here. After awhile, my masseuse knocked and came back in. It's not as awkward as I thought it would be because of the very large sheet and she made sure I was covered at all times. No accidental flashing here. She massaged deep using the sheet as a barrier so she's not actually touching your skin. I just came back snowboarding so I was sore all over, so it kinda hurt but in a good way. She wasn't afraid to go all in unless you ask her not to. First half was a lot of kneading and massage of my back, legs, shoulders, neck, back of my head, feet, arms, etc. She started using a warm massaging oil after the halfway point which really helped massage deeper into those really sore muscles. The last 1/4 you did have to flip over but the sheet still covering you so she could massage your legs in the front, neck, shoulders, hands, and temple. Honestly, it was very soothing and I was close to falling asleep throughout. I felt great afterwards and would definitely come back again. read more

This massage place was highly recommended by a good friend of mine so I thought I would give it a try. When I walked inside, I saw a lady on my left focused on putting her make-up on. She asked me what type of massage I came in for and when I told her, that's when I realized she worked there. Then she continued finishing putting her make-up on and went inside. I was puzzled by this unprofessional behavior and immediately got onto my phone to look for some where else to get my facial. However, after several minutes another lady came out and said hello. I continued to wait and then another lady came out to greet me and take me in. I thought what's the harm, I'm here so might as well try it out. Thankfully a lady named Sunny came into my room and was very nice. She did a great job on my facial but there was an interesting method she used by flapping her hands on my face which felt uncomfortable. I gave this place a 3 star because of how nice Sunny was. I am not certain that I would come back to this place again, but it did the job for me and I am thankful for that. My suggestion for them would be to make sure that they have a professional employee greeting their customers as soon as they walk in. First impressions are extremely valuable. read more

Parking: this place is located in a shopping plaza and is slightly tucked away in the back. There was plenty of parking, but some open spots are a tad far from the location. It's in the same plaza as different food places which is nice for either before or after your massage! Ambiance: nice and relaxing. Not loud at all! And very clean. It had a very spa-like feel. Massage: was okay. I felt my lady wasn't going hard enough. That's my own bad for not saying something, but in general, the massage was just okay. I've definitely had better. My boyfriend and I had the couples massage that we bought off Groupon and the receptionist was really nice about it and offered us a deal for when we returned. I purchased the couples massage off of Groupon because of the great reviews. This, by far, has been the most invasive and most uncomfortable massage I've ever received. My mom is a former massage therapist, so I'm no stranger to massages. The sheets were highly thin, completely see-through. The lady who worked on me kept coughing from beginning to end. While I empathized (as she probably needed the money to be working under such conditions), I was also grossed out. The lady who worked on my boyfriend told him to take off his boxer briefs. He told her over 5 times that he wanted to keep them on. She, on her own, YANKED them off of him, while he was laying face down. Who does that? They didn't make me take off my panties, yet FORCEFULLY took off my boyfriend's briefs against his choice. He had to ask her multiple times to give them back. We were left highly uncomfortable. We gave $20 tip (shouldn't have) before exiting the room, knowing that massage therapists do depend on tips. The front staff was rude about it, making tips mandatory instead of optional (even though we tipped before speaking to the front staff). I am never returning here again. I would NOT recommend this location. read more

The massage that they provide is great and they will even ask you if you want the pressure to increase or be lessen. I come here once a month and so far I have been loving it. I made the appointment for my s/o and I at three and arrived about 10 minutes early. Just a couple of things, Spatacular is in the same complex as an in n out so prepare for a crazy parking lot and have your patience cap on! Upon arriving, we were greeted by a younger Asian lady and put into our rooms right away. I've been to a lot of places that have been on Groupon, but they were mostly, for lack of a better word, ghetto. Spatacular was beautifully decorated and upon being ushered into our room, we noticed a gorgeous koi pond. The music was mostly classical and I enjoyed listening to Beethoven and Mozart. The whole massage was too short. We had the 60 minute and it felt like it was over too soon. Rara was my masseuse and she knew where I was tight. She kneaded me like I was play-doh and let me tell you, it was fantastic. She made me feel like a heavenly new person. I love the fact that they don't use oil. Instead they opt for some sort of body cream. My s/o's masseuse was Hanna and he told me this was the best massage he's been too. Overall, we have stamp cards and I love this place! When you've been to other places and had bad experiences, when you get an exceptional quality therapist, it really becomes obvious. Understood pressure points, was mentally focused, comfortable with the work, obviously well trained, quickly identified points of tension and worked those without killing me, never needed to be corrected or asked to do it differently, just seemed to understand the body type and went to work. Making the appointment was very simple and easy and even called the day before to book the appointment. Upon arriving we were put in our rooms almost immediately and was asked to strip down and lay under the sheet. Yes, it is normal for them to pull your underwear down slightly as they rub your butt area. My girl knew just what areas to focus on. My boyfriend requested no feet and they did well respecting that. I had a great experience although it was more like a foot reflexology/full body massage that I could easily get in Westminster/Garden Grover. However, the cleanliness, friendliness, and atmosphere would have me coming back despite the prices being more than that in Westminster such as Ooh La La. You could pay cheaper in Westminster or come here where it's nicer and cleaner. The massage felt good however it wasn't your typical massage therapy such as Swedish massage or deep tissue. read more

Nice entrance, clean environment and nice staff! I wish them well! I had the full body massage. May was very attentive and showed me that she listened well. She was precise with her massage! I live far from Spatacular but will make the effort to stop by just for May! :-) I wish the other staff members are just as good, but why take the chance? I usually leave a 25% tip.
