Cable One sent me one of those google review "tell us how we're doing" emails, which I filled out. I did, but apparently they have the ability to choose whether to post it on google. It never made it. So here we are on yelp. I'll try to give it the shorter version. Cable One figured it out. Too many people cutting the cable and switching to streaming. So they limit your data. 300 gb for $55. Cant be done! We are just 2 people who only use the internet sparingly. So we burn through our data around day 23 of 30. When you do this 3 months in a row, they bump you to the next higher plan, 600 gb @ $80 plus tax. Does something look familiar now? Yes, you're back up to cable prices! So why am I complaining? I guess just to vent. But tough luck. Cable One is a monopoly. Take it or leave town. I hope for 2 things: 1) Another larger company comes to town to create real competition. or 2) Companies like T-mobile finally launch unlimited data with their cell service. Stream as fast and as much as you need on your phone. One company, one bill. And the cable company is something our kids and grand kids can read about in history books (or better yet, online). Email is awful I've been with CableOne for many years. CableOne's ISP services are OK, but the email sucks. Cableone email service blocks some of my incoming email as spam. The same message comes to me via Gmail just fine. Their spam filter creates false positives, and tech support cannot or will not explain to me what part of the blocked message offends the spam filter. Messages sent to me from MailChimp (using an authenticated domain as sender) are also not received. These messages are rejected before it hits my inbox, so whitelisting doesn't help. Worse, CableOne doesn't send a bounce notice - this is not playing by the rules - so we have no way to trace the issue and understand or fix the problem. The result is that I have no confidence that I am receiving the emails I want. Trying to resolve this with tech support has been painful and unsuccessful: hours on the phone. Tech support is a black hole. I am so angry that I would give this company a MINUS 5 stars if possible. The only solution is to avoid cableone email. Gmail works! read more

Sparklight might be the worst wifi provider on the entire planet as a whole. It crashes so often and will have long moments of dead wifi. Would not recommend to any sane human. read more

They are a smaller cable company and they charge internet fees based upon usage. My complaints are the following: - the cable TV Tivo box is really slow. Netflix loads slow and YouTube loads slower - the leased cable modem (Hitron brand) is terrible with range. I have a 4,800 sq ft. home and I had to get a range extender upstairs and pay for that too. In the end, I replaced the Hitron garbage with Netgear equipment that I purchased and it runs 500x faster - if you stream a lot and game a lot, you end up having to pay for upgraded internet packages, which are quite expensive I honestly would prefer another cable company, but I am limited to Cable One because they are the only provider of wired internet where I live... Comcast, please come to my area!! read more

First, my service has been exceptionally good. When I have questions or concerns, I give a call to the toll free number. The folks I've spoken to have been very helpful. I did get a little upset one day, and the Representative with whom I was speaking became defensive and that was the end of the conversation. Every other time (perhaps 10 calls) the Reps have been very nice, patient and willing to help. Special thanks to Tyler D. and Mike 'Boston' B. for taking the time today to not only study the problematic history, but also to check and replace the line and box on the pole, ground the box coming in the house, and balance the signal inside. It truly restored my faith in the company. The company is most fortunate to have these men who take pride in their work, and I will be sending their general manager letters telling him so. Sparklight is the only game in town in Prescott AZ, for fast broadband speeds. The problem is they know it, and take full advantage of it..Things changed for the worse, when Cableone sold out to Sparklight. We've electronically paid Cableone for the past 16 years.Then Sparklight apparently lost our bank info, and sent us a statement with $8.50 of late fees. When I called to resolve this issue by once again giving them our bank info, they wanted an additional $10.00 for paying by phone.Then came the grand slam! Our cableone email account (which was included in our original agreement) has been our primary email address for the past 16 years. I wondered why they didn't re-route it as sparklight.com. Now I know why. I was just told that Sparklight will no longer provide us with email service as of 12-31-21, it's up to us to find new email sevice. I called Sparklight to question their right to take this away from us. They told me our cableone email account has always been a free service, of which Sparklight will no longer provide. Lies for profit. Sparklight gains higher profits and I; will spend hours if not days, reaching out to everyone who has ever emailed me at cableone.com for the past 16 years; to give them my new email address. read more

Three weeks to get an install. Internet is ok but expanded tv package sucks. Same old reruns, few new programs without huge upcharges. Their service is way overpriced. Poor speeds never get past half what I'm supposed to get with our 1gb/s plan. Only good thing is we don't get dropouts very frequently. Other than that not very pleased at all. If I could give no stars, I would. This internet service is horrible. I pay for a premium package, and have bundled many of my services through Cable One. I am constantly dropping service, and when many people in my development are on the interenet at the same time, it is similar to being on dial-up. When I called to get help, the woman on the phone was patronizing and disrespectful. Experiences like these make it difficult to be a customer. Really disappointed in the TV service. Was supposed to get all room Tivo service, but after waiting 3 weeks to get installed, the tech said he didn't have the equipment. Ended up with the standard DVR box in one room, which we hate. Tech was supposed to call back and let us know about the Tivo equipment, but all I hear are crickets, no call. I canceled Dish after nearly 10 years to try and save some money after moving to Dewey, but I really like their service. I thought Tivo would be comparable, but I guess we will never know. Will be calling Dish soon so we can enjoy our TV again and canceling service with Cable One. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Left work early to meet tech at my house. I don't have cell signal on the drive home so instead of trying to call again after 5 minutes he just left. As I was pulling onto my street I saw him drive away. Called the local office and instead of having the tech turn around because there was still an hour in my service window, they just rescheduled me for a week later. Now I have to leave work early again probably to have the same thing happen. Not impressed, and very frustrated. Cancelling the whole thing and looking for something else. read more

YIKES...after reading the other reviews, I'm wondering if I have the same Cable One!!!. I have only internet, no phone or cable TV. I had a problem connecting my modem to begin with, but their tech support helped me fix the connection quickly and professionally. I am in Prescott, and my service seems reliable and dependable. Ping 14 Download 3.76 Upload 2.90 This is acceptable from Cable One. N.S.O.P. Cable One charges to come out, but if you complain for months and years they will come out for free. They will rip you cable box out of outside wall leaving it to hang there by its coxial cables. Not a pretty sight. They will install a attenuator at modem which repairmen says helps. They walks around in your home with dirty shoes on. Every morning thereafter the computer won't work, nor the voip phone. I removed attenuator they installed and it works again. I did speed test on speedtest.net October 19.2018 at 8:21am and my results are: Ping 14 Downloads 3.76 Upload 2.90 I pay $55.00 a month for up to 100mpbs They say, "only if it's available in your area." My area is Pronghorn Ranch, PV. This is a terrible value for the money. I have had this service provider since March 2003. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ever get Cable One. Customer support always gives the run around. You get different answers everytime and they say it's your equipment. This is not true. We always follow their request when it come to what items to buy. I know ISPs get a bad rap but these guys deserve it. I recently bought a brand new home. The builder had an email from them telling him that service would be available in early or min May. I called Sparklight twice to confirm this and BOTH times was told that service was ALREADY available at the house so they went ahead and scheduled the install for just after the closing date. Unfortunately when the tech came out for the install he told me that I had been lied to and that there was NO SERVICE. I asked for a manger to call me and got in touch with the guy that heads up their construction group locally. He told me cable should be to my house within a few weeks. Well here we are almost a month later and they still don't have the cable run. Their latest excuse is that they failed to mark the location for a new pole correctly and are having to work with the county to re-do it. I can't comment on the service itself once you get it but there sure is a lot of incompetence in this company. read more

So I live in Dewey, in a 2 story house. We have a bundle plan for all three services, internet, cable, and home phone. Cable seems to work fine. Our home phone is not plugged in (our choice). The internet however, if awful. We have about 5 pc's hooked up to it. The modem is down stairs. The connection downstairs is fine. However, the connection upstairs is complete garbage. 2 desktop PC's and a laptop upstairs, and we've had terrible connection. Downstairs, we get 66mbps, upstairs, we get about 3mbps. I've called Century Link to see if they offer anything where I live, they said the connection would be 2 mbps. So, I called up Cable one and tried to see if they offer other plans for a 2nd modem. They said, "There is no way to hook up 2 modems in the household". Then they go on saying "everything seems to be working fine" When I told them my situation, they couldn't help me at all. So I quickly hung up on them to resist the urge of screaming at them. It sucks because they KNOW they're the only provider out here and they take advantage of that. Internet alone should not cost over $100 per month. That's silly. read more

Internet goes out and in every night around 2300 hours. Done so for years intermittently...they have no answers. Just took a day off to meet with their field tech to see if they can fix it...4th time. Waited well past their scheduled time frame and called. Seems their CSR never scheduled it in the first place. There went $200+ in lost wages. They are the only game in town regarding fast internet as CenturyLink only offers 3mbps at our location (1 mile from the town square). So they really don't have any competition and operate accordingly. Perhaps some day someone will offer them some competition so that they will be forced to improve their service and business model. read more

I signed up for their 50gb download service from Cable One and paid far more for internet service then at any time in my life. I have been a past customer of both Cox and CenturyLink. I pay $70 a month for Cable One. More then twice as much as I have ever paid before. This is a very poor deal because they impose a band width limit per month. For the last 5 years I have enjoyed NETFLIX with Cox and CenturyLink and have never had concern for band usage. I never thought about it at all. It just worked and there were no extra charges no matter what I used. I never paid more then $30 a month for either Cox or CenturyLink. During that time with Cox and CenturyLink there were three users. All three of us used the internet heavily. With Cable One, I am the only user. Sometimes, the three of us would run NETFLIX for 18 hours per day. Never an extra charge. Never a bandwidth limit. With Cable One, by myself, I have to turn off internet access every day for most of the day or I will get a huge internet bill. This Cable One service is not worth the money. Don't get it. With Cable One there is a 100 gb limit on band usage. If you watch NETFLIX three hours a day and use your computer normally you will exceed your limit and begin to get additional charges over and above $70 per month. If you have other users on your network you will get a huge bill from Cable One. Cable One's service is not worth what you are paying for. Find another service. By the way. 50gb download speeds sound good but in reality few internet sites will take advantage of that speed. Even Microsoft updates don't download at 50gb. Their servers arn't that fast.You're wasting your money paying $70 per month for 50gb download speeds. Cable One costs more than twice as much and you can use your computer only half as much as other internet providers and the service is terrible. That's been my experience. Read and weep. read more

We have moved to Dewey, Arizona and are happy with our Cable One system and service. Today I had some Tivo operation questions that Donna in Customer Service did a great job in answering. Donna clearly and easily led me through how to use the One Pass option to record a series. We added a mini box order for a kitchen TV and Donna was able to book the service call for this Friday. Our WiFi works great throughout the house and outside on our patio. We have TV, phone, and internet with Cable One and it is working great since install about 3 weeks ago. We have a learning curve especially on the TIVO only because our former cable service used a different type DVR but in two calls customer service has been eager to help us understand and enjoy the options on our new service. 5 star rating from us. read more

I wrote a review for this service on 2/2/15, and am now updating with yet another awful review. Unfortunately, I feel trapped in a small community with very few options for service. The only thing you can expect to be on time with cable one is their bill. We attempted to transfer service during a move and have faced unbelievable challenges in accomplishing this minor task. Today, we paid a friend to sit at our house from 1-4, as we are both working professionals that cannot take a day off and paid someone to wait for them and they never bothered to show. When I called to inquire, they told me they didn't have this appointment on the books when in fact I confirmed at 8am today. The best they can do is send someone out tomorrow between 8-5. So we are supposed to give up a full day's work to wait for them, when they may not even bother to show? I continue to be appalled by the horrific "service" this "business" (more like a bunch of brainless monkey con artists) provides. read more

We recently discontinued cable service because we moved to out of Arizona. When calling to stop service, Cable One's representative said we needed to return the modem box. I was not in AZ at that time and told her we would return it when we returned to Prescott to finish moving which would be the week of November 16. She led me to believe this would be fine and that she would make a note of it. As promised, we returned the modem that week. We were shocked when returning to California to receive a notice in the mail that we had been turned over to a collection agency for the amount due from the modem. The cable service was ok, but the company is unable to provide decent customer service beyond their cookie cutter system. read more

Cable one is only interested in Money,Four times running a local business I have been disconnected from my merchant account with a loss of over thousand dollers , They say it is construction companys cutting there fiber optic digging , Where is blue stake and they should be able to get reimbursed for their down time but we as customers have no recoarse other then an offer of $50 off our next bill. They should button their shirts their heart is going to fall out, as my customers say they wiil never shop again at my store due to merchant being down from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm I HAVE HAD IT WITH THERE LACK OF CONCERN. I CANCELLED MY ACCOUNT IN LETTER FORM SET VIA US MAIL. I WENT TO THERE OFFICE IN CHINO VALLEY TO RETURN THEIR EQUIPTMENT AND THE FACILITY SAID THEY DID ACCEPT EQUIPMENT THERE. THEN THEY SEND ME TO COLLECTION FOR 982.65 FOR EQUIPTMENT AND BAD SERVICE. What do small companys do to survive these large monoply giants , they care less all about money. I work hard to maintain good credit and they drop my credit score in minutes due to their lack of professionalism and common courtesy with their money. They have robots on line and let employees go to cut cost, and we the suckers loose our credit cusomers and continue to keep the giants in in business . I am posting this review on our technician Rich, not on the internet service. We have a newly built home and no string or cable was run through our pipe to the box across the street prior to our appointment date and time. Sparklight should have checked this out prior to the technician arriving... Fortunately we got Rich who showed up and didnt leave until we had used a borrowed shop vacuum, string and plastic grocery bag to blow the string through. The shop vacuum was not enough to get the cable through afterward so we ran water through the pipe before actually getting it done. Rich had to walk up and down our steep dirt driveway aand across the street, working the lines from both ends of the pipe. He worked well after dark! We finally had our internet at about 8pm. He could very easily have left immediately after seeing the initial work was not done. We are very thankful for Rich's hard work and diligence. Thank you Rich. read more

Just read what Brandon B. said. ENOUGH SAID. I, as well as other Cable One customers in my subdivision have the exact same issues as Brandon describes. We pay for 50 IN and between those very same hours, we are lucky to get over 2. We have gotten every excuse in the book and we do not believe any of them. This as gone on for MONTHS with no improvement despite them telling us they have fixed it after so called "equipment upgrades " node issues, and other maintenance. Unfortunately for the moment, they are in fact, still the only game in town. We are praying another provider comes along soon. Would be good to find an independent consultant that could look in to it as a third-party. I am highly suspicious of data/bandwidth throttling. I've been a customer for years, not by choice, but because there is no other broadband supplier of internet that offers high speed internet. That is if you get any internet at all. today I've been without internet for about 3 days. They came out said nothing is wrong with my setup that its somewhere out there in the system. so they tell you they are working on it, but it seems they never get it fixed. its gotten worse over the years. now it goes out about 1 or 2 times a month. my 4g phone has better speed and I'm in Williamson valley! I've actually resorted to just using my phones hotspot to use the internet sometimes. its better than cableone. I swear if there was an alternative I'd just jump ship so fast. we need to get people together and petition centruylink to get dsl or something out here. read more

The absolute WORST!! As you can see from all the other reviews, there is no greater rating than 2 stars. There are continuously intermittent outages with the Internet and the TV signal is frequently pixelating. They claim to have the fastest internet but that is BS, always waiting for videos to stream. Without a doubt, I am not getting what I am paying for. If you have ANY other options for TV and or internet, take it. It HAS to be better than Cableone. DONT fall for their false advertising.!!!! I don't get all the channels I pay for. When I complain they have me take my cable box in and exchange it, and I still have problems. I have done this so many times I cannot remember. Looks like Cable One's digital system is not compatible with all television sets. read more

Honestly the company is alright, the problem I have is the Data Caps, there is no reason for any ISP to have Data Caps nowdays, a few years ago sure. The claim that "it is to help relieve bandwidth congestion" is outdated for the new server infrastructure that delivers bandwidth can handle todays modern ventures. It is only here to make Cable One money and it being the only monopoly in the area isnt really "just". I am about to lose clients in my business because I frequently download and upload huge packages daily resulting in almost 40GB/day average and I have to take literally days off just so I dont go over, they dont care about us we are just money sheep to them. planning on moving out of state just to get away from Cable One. Get rid of the cap, and you will get better customer feedback. read more

Cable One internet used to be reliable for me in my neighborhood, but it has been intermittent for about a year. I have called their support line countless times in the last year, and the tech have been out to the house several times and everything is good at my premises. They are telling me there is a noise problem on the line but they cannot find it. They say the node is very large and it makes isolation difficult. Nonsense. I've worked for AT&T for 30+ years and it doesn't take a year to isolate trouble if you are competent. It is more an issue that most people don't notice the short outages because they don't use the internet as heavily as I do, and therefore it is not a priority for them to fix it since only a few are calling about it. read more
