After Geek Squad left my 3-year-old iMac, which was worse than I originally called them in for, I reached out to Apple, and they informed me of this place as an authorized Apple service provider. I left my iMac with Tony at Argosy, who was respectful and explained how to repair my pc. The next day, I received a message that my computer was ready for me and mentioned that when I came in, I would need my Apple ID to ensure everything was working for me. I showed up the next day, and a guy was there, but not Tony. As Tony mentioned, I asked him about checking my computer and setting it up. The guy told me I could take it home and do it there. I tried to explain my situation, and again, the guy said I could take it home and do it there as he said it would take me hours of sitting here. I told him I was prepared to sit around to fix this pc as I have had it under repair for over two weeks. I asked if he would please let me set it up there, then he said (in a rude tone) go to the computer and turn it on; you should know how to do that (rude). After that, I asked which WiFi was theirs so I could log on. He babbled (rude) about how we were not supposed to give out our WiFi password. After a few continued rude words (attitude), he did come over and kinda shouted out the password. I felt uncomfortable with how he kept speaking to me rudely and repeating himself, making me uneasy. After attempting to explain and his consistent disruptions, I got fed up with the way he raised his voice at me; I decided to take my computer and get out. At this time, I took out my phone and recorded the rest of our conversation. OMG! I had never been so badly treated by anyone, anywhere, like him! I called the next day to speak with Tony (I think he is the owner), and I explained the rudeness of this employee. Tony did not say a word, no apologies or any explanation. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED by how I was treated. I guess it's no biggie because I came in as an Apple warranty service, so I am no loss to them. Argosy is the only Apple service provider in our area. There's an opportunity for someone here to start their PC repair as an Authorized Apple service provider.  I DO NOT RECOMMEND ARGOSY WEST COMPUTERS (poor customer service!) and GEEK SQUAD (for Apple devices). read more

Tony was a huge help when I dropped my new IPad & broke the screen. Luckily, I had AppleCare so warranty covered damage. Apple's website wasn't making it easy to work directly through them. He had to order a special tool to get the info he needed. I was going out of town but he called me when the new IPad arrived. Excited to get back to using it again. read more

Worst computer repair I've ever received. I took my laptop in for some hardware issue. Paid the hefty repair bill and brought it home. I now have more issues than I had before. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the mouse and keyboard work, sometimes the don't. I took it back as was basically told it was my problem, not theirs. That it was a software issue not hardware. They were very friendly but that doesn't make up for the big bill and I still have a laptop I am unable to use. :( read more

Was very rude and told us the completely wrong info.... proceeded to go to geek squad and they fixed it asap.

I brought in an old computer of mine for them to play with and was greeted by a guy that was a jerk. I've been struggling with fixing that computer and was hoping to learn a thing or two. The guy reminded me of George Costanza and revealed that he was the mac expert, and liked everybody else, advised me to get a new computer. When I said that I'd rather look into repair options, he started being condescending and even lectured me on recycling. I called Argosy late in the afternoon when my MacBook Pro decided to not want to turn on again after me troubleshooting for an hour. The Mac tech answered the phone right away, did some phone triage and offered to look at it that day. When I arrived he was professional, knowledgeable and kind. He fixed it on the spot!! The heart & brain of my 9 year old Mac Desktop took a dive on Dec. 11, and at first I panicked; but, after looking at Yelp I found Argosy West and after reading the reviews decided to take it in. I called & the Tech told me if I brought it in they could look at it & let me know right away whether or not it was fixable. Sure enough, Tony, the service manager & co-owner looked at it right away & within 15 minutes was able to diagnose the problem. The hard drive was dead. He said he could install a new hard drive and because I had my external hard drive with me he also said that he might be able to recover whatever data was on the external hard drive. It was ready the next day for us to pick up. I highly recommend Argosy to anyone with an Apple computer. These guys know what they are doing as they are certified by Apple. Also, they said they are authorized by Apple to handle warranty matters in the Prescott area. Also, they are very affordable. My Mac is running great and my data was recoverable. It's good to know that there is an Apple certified business in Prescott. read more

She was told that anyone who buys a refurb computer was a fool and that she now had a very expensive paperweight. The computer was sent to me. We had used Argosy West several years ago before we sold our business, I needed a quick question answered. Very simple. I could not get a new email address entered onto my husband's computer. I called Argosy. They helped me quickly and WITH RESPECT. That is so important to me and everyone. They spent time with me and we discussed the concept as well as the procedure. I did not even have to go into the office. We solved the problem on the phone. My husband and I are both much older. WE ARE NOT TECHIES! I experienced an excellent level of service comparable to the service we experienced when we were regular customers. I realized that one of the gentlemen was ALSO an older gentleman. Patient and understanding! This experience was the same great service we experienced in the past. I have a tendency to interrupt and jump ahead of the instruction. Supererb service - friendly and very helpful. iPhone would not start up and being from Iowa and here for 5 weeks it was really tough to be without a phone. All it needed was to be hooked up to iTunes but this place responded immediately and got me up and running in less than hour. Very reasonable charge for the fix. Extremely rude staff. I'm an older lady and just because I'm not "teck" savvy it's unacceptable to be rude and raise your voice. Left me standing in the lobby-- didn't think we were done but after a while I just left. I would rather drive 3 hours to a real apple store where they consider customer service a priority. Great Service. Knowledgeable techs. Customer Service orientated and always willing to please. Argosy West has seen both my Mac's and PC's on numerous occasions and has always fixed problems with them in a timely and cost effective manner. They always have options for you, depending on the situation, the cost's associated with it and how much of an emergency it is. With very limited options for computer service in the Prescott area (I wouldn't even let Best Try replace the batteries in my wireless mouse) it's nice to know that there is one place that can take care of you when you need it. The only drawback is their limited stock, but being a "mom and pop" and computers not very cheap to begin with, its understandable. They are willing to order anything and get it to us ASAP! I brought my 2011 macbook pro in for a diagnosis after a minor liquid spill. i was afraid to turn it on until it had been checked out. Argosy's mac tech informed me over the phone that my logic board was "completely fried...charred" and when he tried to recover my data, he found the hdd to be "totally dead". Also said the display may have been damaged, so it wasn't worth fixing. He proceeded to offer to "recycle it" for me, and sounded surprised when I said no thanks, I'll come pick it up. I got it home, pushed the power button, and there was my home screen, with all files intact. I checked the hdd with Disk Utility- checks out fine. I ran Apple Hardware Test twice- checks out fine. That'd be difficult with a dead drive and no logic board, wouldn't you think? Given that even a dead-fried-forpartsonly Macbook can still bring upwards of $400 on ebay, I can't help but think this is an outright scam, declaring it dead, and taking it off my hands to recycle. I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau, and Apple directly. read more

I ordered RAM for my Mid 2010 iMac. It took about a week to get because they needed it shipped to them, no biggy. The only issue I had was when I went to get the ram I was told that it came in the day before I called. I arrived at the store and the man I was talking to at the counter said he could not give it to me yet because the lady that does their inventory decided to wait a another day to input it in their system because she went out of the area to do a job two days after they got it in the mail. A long story short they sat on the RAM I ordered for three days before letting me get it. Not the best way to handle a small business. read more
