    Desert Data Recovery

SUPER HONEST!!! I had a Seagate 8 TB hard drive hub that was…read morerunning, fall off my table headfirst onto the floor, and landed on the front connectors of my hard drive. It jammed the USB A, remote plug for my wireless mouse, into the front of the hard drive. After I picked it up the drive and tried to plug it into my computer, the drive would not mount. I thought all was lost, so I sent it over to Desert Data Recovery. I got a call the next day from a very nice woman, Kaylynn Ehlers. She explained that they would get to it after the weekend. They got back to me on Monday and explained the situation. They had taken the drive apart, and ran some tests, and said that although they could get the drive to Mount once they removed it from the case, they could not guarantee the integrity of the data. Kaylynn explained they could run a data recovery on the drive and quoted me a very reasonable price, but I opted to take the drive and try to recover the data myself since the drive could mount. I was actually successful and VERY LUCKY all data was recoverable. I really want to thank Kaylynn Ehlers over at Desert Data Recovery for her honesty and for helping me with the situation without a cost. I really trust these guys as they were honest with me and also quoted me a reasonable data recovery price. If I ever am in a situation again, where I need data recovery, I will not hesitate to give these people my business. They charge nothing upfront for an estimate with some analysis. A lot of companies do charge an up-front fee. Additionally, you don't have to send out your drive. You can drop it off locally, either in Mesa, Arizona or in Peoria. Thank you again, Kaylynn and Desert Data Recovery.

I had photos on there for the last 20 years and was so worried. Nicky, one of the co-owners, explained what they could do and how the whole process would work. I never wondered about it because it was so clear what they could/would and could/would not do. I left my hard drive with them and in a short time had an email explaining that they probably could recover my photos. And they did! I was so happy. The price is not cheap but it's reasonable considering what DDR is doing for you, In my case, in was bringing back 20 years of photos. (By the way, I learned to back up everything - redundancy!) I recommend this service without hesitation. They are transparent and customer-focused. If you have this happen, don't try to fix it yourself because that makes it harder for DDR to recover your stuff. Just take it in and explain what happened. They are not judgmental at all. They want to help and they really did help me.

"SOMETHING" went wrong on our computer and I immediately called Blake and said HELP. His first words were, no problem, bring it in and we will get to work on it. WOW....Being a NON-computer person, this type of reassurance puts an ease into me, the last thing I need right now is to shop for a computer. Picked up my computer and Brandon is just so positive and willing to offer help with what I need. I'm happy both of them are at my store and will never leave. (just selfish thinking). Big time atta-boy for Data Doctors in having outstanding employees that help people like me !!...A trillion stars....

I took my pc in knowing that my ssd was failing in some way, but wanted to get it diagnosed on what…read moreexactly I needed to get replaced (the cables, connectors, or the ssd itself) so I could have peace of mind. After paying the $59, after waiting a weekend of relief, when I called for the follow-up, I was told what I already knew. That my ssd was failing, and they couldn't test it any further. Okay, I took it in for a diagnosis, told them I knew it was the ssd that was corrupted or damaged, and then three days later they tell me the same thing that I told them to begin with... But for the repair I was told it would be $240, and that it might not even work to get my data back. I told them I don't care about getting my data back, I just wanted a new drive and a fresh install of windows. I was told it would be $140 for that. I don't understand how buying a $50 ssd and reinstalling windows would cost $140. Even if I asked them to just ditch the ssd and install windows on one of my HDD's it would be the same cost. Since the only thing they told was the same thing I told them when I walked in the store, I would desire a refund. Update: I picked up my pc and when I asked about a refund, he was rather blunt and said that I didn't know what was wrong and insinuated that I was lying. He said something similar to "you would've fixed it yourself if you knew what the problem was". I told them that the problem was the ssd with the operating system downloaded on it when I originally called and when I brought it in... and apparently I'm being gaslit... There is no reasonable explanation for a new ssd and windows installation costing $140 at the minimum. It was not a transparent price, as when I asked on the phone and in person what their rates were they said both times 'it will be a $60 fee, BUT it will go towards total cost of the repair which is the cost of parts and a small labor fee' According to them, it would be $99 for the ssd replacement and $40 for labor. A 500 gb samsung ssd (already double the storage of my original ssd) is only $53 on amazon... I am a highschool student and can only work part-time hours, which means I don't have enough money to pay for these absurd up charges, and not enough time to do the repairs myself. I don't have enough money to have $60 go to waste when that is half the money I make in a week. I had to save money to even afford the "evaluation", and I am not interested in the $240 or $140 prices. Again, like before my update, I ask for a refund because the workers were a bit rude and blunt when I told them my situation and didn't care about the situation I'm in.

The staff are nice and the value of what you pay for overall is good. The selection of stuff to choose from is limited though depending what is still in stock, but it's still overall good especially when stuff is on sale. Instead of helping resolve the issue, she raised her voice, spoke to us disrespectfully, and created an uncomfortable and hostile environment. What's even more frustrating is that her behavior directly resulted in the store losing $34,we just purchased phone protector last week and got damaged and it supposed to be life warranty but she wanted us to pay 8 dollars for installation saying that things are changed, how soon within a week!!! saying that the damage is because we dropped the phone Not because the first installment was not correct! and guess what , who ever installed this new one he didn't know how to do it that he had to grab another protector!!!! which could have easily been avoided with basic professionalism and courtesy. It's unacceptable for someone in a managerial position to act this way, as they are supposed to represent the company and set an example for others. If this is how customers are treated here, I can confidently say that people will choose not to return or make purchases from this location. This kind of service damages the reputation of the business.
