i have been using Cable One for internet service for over 2 years now. i have had cable internet before with different companies, and expected to have outage periods or even days of interruptions to service, and regularly have slow times. this has NEVER, not ONCE happened with Cable One. I have 2 to 4 computers and more devices going in the house at the same time. often more than one person is streaming videos, including Netflix. Never a single problem! Before i signed up for service, i asked several people around the Prescott Valley area how they got along with their internet service providers. Most people said "just ok." no one on Cable One had anything negative to say. i read online reviews and expected mixed opinions to people i spoke with, but this was not the case. i would recommend Cable One for internet service. they have been a very good value for me and my family. read more

Been watching for several weeks now Cable One program offerings in our summer-rented home and have some observations that might be of help improve it ... our service is 59 channels, 3 thru59. Two glaring needs ... add the Golf Channel that offers total golf programming and substitute the Fox Business channel for CNBC. The latter has slumped badly in their financial offerings to the extent that FBN has become, for some time now, the more-watched of this type content that a lot of us like to follow. We just had Cable One installed. The technician was wonderful - patient, kind and understanding. Our service with Hughes Net was terrible. We were not able to access streaming channels with Hughes for we kept getting buffering messages. Cable one is a far better way to go. read more

Was on their starter plan for $50 and got 300gb. I went over my allowance and with out notification was automatically put on a plan for $80 and 800gb. They have a plan for $65 and 600gb. My average usage I was told by their rep was 550gb. So I was but just but on a more expensive plan and charged more money than I should have been which in my eyes is completely unethical. I asked to speak to a supervisor and got the "they are in a meeting" routine. This is complete BS. read more

Just want to all of the prior negative posts. Their internet service is undependable (we're thankful we don't have their TV or telephone service); their $35/month special adds up to $58/month with fees and taxes; and their customer support is awful. I spent over 30 minutes holding last night because our internet was down again. Of course that was AFTER the automated talk takes you through hoops to un-plug and re-plug the modem which I had already done. Finally get to a live person and they schedule a service call. Of course they warn me that if it is NOT their problem they will charge me and tried to sell me a maintenance plan for $5/month. I told the guy I don't need their insurance, the outages have always been THEIR problem and I was confident this was another incidence. During the night the service came back up so obviously it was an issue with their network. We had Comcast in our previous home for 12 years with very limited issues. We have been in Prescott for 7 months and have had continuous issues with Cable One service. If there was a viable alternative we would take it. read more

I work from home, reliable Internet is a must! Absolutely the WORST internet service ever had in my entire life. Customer service insists its my equipment, after I had it replaced with new expensive equipment AND had a CableOne tech guy check it out for any issues for which there was nothing wrong (Shocker). Every tech call they tell me to unplug router and modem--next day its out again at around 5pm to midnight, off and on and very slow. I call them with the only phone I have, which racks up my Verizon minutes and my time. I don't recall ever not having issues with cableone, having once lived in Phoenix I had zero issues with Cox. CableOne, if you're listening. You deserve to have lawsuits against you and refund EVERYONE you serve, at least in the Prescott area which has been terrible. read more

Recently tried to disconnect service for the winter since it has ballooned from $25.00 to $42.04 for basic TV services and I didn't want to be charged all winter when I am not at the house. Had to speak to a supervisor after being on hold for 10 minutes to be allowed to mail the little crappy cable box back next month. I just received my bill that they were charging my credit card $200.00 until I return the box. No one there knows who Maureen is or was. Now I have to drive back up to Prescott, get the box on the weekend, drive back down to Phoenix and mail it back. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE THIS COMPANY. When I asked about being able to disconnect and reconnect before, the representative told me they can change their policy at any time and they did and they can charge my card whenever they want. read more

The technician came to set up my TV and internet at my new house in Arizona. He had trouble running the cables even though they were existing cables run in the house. He never checked the internet before you left and I found it was not working. Also had a TV that wasn't working in the bedroom. Luckily I had Best Buy coming the next day to install my TV and they resolve all the issues. Worst of all the signal is terrible would not recommend this company read more

Worst television programing and price. Unbelievably poor service. Can't make any changes on weekends or after hours. Try to cancel and you will spend hours trying to find where to call and where and when to return your equipment. Only to be insulted by employees. read more

After 20 yrs of which the last 12yrs have been seasonal, Cable one says says we r new customers. Have to go thru credit check etc etc. New policy, but don't have it in writing for their customers to read n didn't send out a notice to all the customers of this new change. I have not had the experience as others have indicated in their reviews. Prior to moving from Prescott to Prescott Valley, I had consistent service with my TV and internet. Even after a power outage, service would return without delay. Since moving, I have had difficulty getting the internet to work. A technician came to my home on Thursday and told my friend the internet was set up and working. Later that night, when I tried to hook my computer up, I had no service. I called tech support and was given excellent service, but I could tell the tech was frustrated that he couldn't get the internet working. He suggested I wait 30-60 minutes and call back if I still had a problem. After two hours, I called back. I got another caring and helpful tech, but she too was unable to help me. She suggested that I call back Friday during normal business hours to schedule a tech to come to my home. Friday morning I called back. The customer service person wanted to be able to send someone out that day, but advised the schedule was full for the day but he could schedule me for the next available appointment, which was two weeks later. That is why I only give three stars, otherwise it would be four stars. I've decided to go with another company for TV as Cable One charges $72/month for standard cable. DISH and DirectTV both offer better start up plans so I will be checking them out. Not because Cable TV was bad, but it's too expensive. read more

Just moved to PV (Pronghorn Ranch) from Calif. and had Cable One installed earlier this month; bundled Internet & home phone service ($80/mo. + modem rental). The installer was on time and even had another Service Tech in the area come over to help him expedite the install. It all seems to be working fine, and so far I'm satisfied with their service... except their pricing does seem high. read more

Not bad internet, but horrible billing & service. My fault, I went out of town & didn't pay the bill. Got billed for two months so I paid it. The next mo. I got a $12.00 re-connection fee. The internet was never disconnected & reconnected. If it was a late fee I would have blamed myself & paid it. Not going to be scammed in this way. Called the 800 number & the lady was nice but she had no power to do anything. I asked her where to drop off the equipment & she gave me the address. I have Cable One because there is no other option in this area. I work from home and need a reasonably reliable service connection. Last year in March my service started going off line every few minutes. After about 5 days of this I finally got someone to come out and put a new line to our house and then directly to the modem. I had almost no problems until 5 days again when suddenly service dropped. I watched as my speeds would go from 49.00Mbps download to 0.05Mbps. Upload would go from 2.96Mbps to 0.02 upload. After several calls over 2 days I did get someone to come out. He said the box up on the wires between the poles was producing too much speed and he would have someone come out to replace it. This was after another rep. said there were issues in the area. I was not able to work all weekend and was waiting for a tech. to come on Monday after verifying someone would be there. I called mid-afternoon only to find the service call had been canceled. I can not talk to anyone in my local office because all their calls go to a call center and they can not transfer to local offices. This is garbage. I will probably lose the 2 jobs I have now because I can not trust the service and yet Cable One thinks nothing of charging almost $180.00 per month. Stay away from them if there is any way you can. Update to original review: Well, after 6 years with Cable One, I have nothing good to say about them. With the exception that the call center techs are polite. We tried them with all 3 services, TV, internet & phone when we first moved here. The phone had so much static on the line that we could not have a conversation most of the time. A tech finally came out & put a couple of filters on the line. The internet dropped so much that I was unable to work 5 out of 7 days a week. When we moved next door, after many calls to tech support, they did replace the cable line from the main line to the house. Still, internet dropped and the tech said a box needed to be replaced on the main line. Now, because I could no longer afford their TV service & do not watch TV, I have seen my GB jump from less than 10 GB's per day to over 30. I am disabled & no longer work but still use the internet for email and keeping up with our kids. We have not had our TV on for 2 days but it shows that we used just under 10 GBs on Thursday & then over 30GBs on Friday. There are just 2 of us in the house & my husband does not know how to use a computer. They can not explain the usage as it will be down one day & up the next. No difference in the way I use the computer so we have decided to get rid of them. Having to pay over $110 a month with them saying we use over 700 GBs per month and that we need to go to a higher plan is just never going to happen for us. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had. We scheduled an appointment for the technician to come install our internet 2 weeks ago and he never showed up. Now our next appointment is not for another 2 weeks. The people on the phone are not friendly at all and they didn't offer any discount or assistance for the month of inconvenience. The individual that installed our modem the first time had alcohol on his breath, seemed a bit flustered and was curt with us. We've also experienced the same as what another has mentioned, with our internet service being intermittent over the past year. This even after upgrading our services. We've given Cable One the benefit of the doubt but believe this will be our last year with them. read more

I have been a CableOne customer for 5 1/2 years. Their Internet service has been unreliable at best. My house was brand new at the time, as was their installation. I have had technicians out here at least 20 times to troubleshoot various problems - mostly random drops in Internet service. Almost every time there is a weather event here in Prescott, whether it is rain or snow, the Internet service goes out for hours. Today, we had some snow and we have a "complete" outage - no TV or Internet. last week we were notified of rate increases - when they changed my rates, they reset one of my DVRs so that it didn't work. On top of all that, their phone system is horrible and when you finally reach a customer service agent, they are unfriendly and incompetent. Thanks to our government, they have a monopoly and absolutely no incentive to improve their service. read more

Wow!! My payment was late, I'll admit. But only a little, not enough for a disconnect. I went to log on the internet to pay some other bills, and a pop up from Cable One appeared and blocked me from getting on any other sites. I paid the bill immediately, but could not get rid of the pop up. I called Cable One and asked if this constituted a disconnect, as it rendered by high speed internet useless. They seemed clueless, and had no idea how to get rid of the pop up. This company is so consumer unfriendly, and outrageous in their tactics regarding billing. It is also very expensive and it frightens me that they can literally control you by blocking your use of the internet even when you aren't officially disconnected. I will definitely explore other options for my internet, phone, and television. Avoid this company!!!! read more

Echoing everyone else. CableOne's quality and customer service are the worst I have ever experienced by a large margin! My cable internet connection is very spotty despite paying for one of their "faster" plans. In addition, I took several hours off of work for a pre-scheduled upgrade installation and they did not show up. When I called to inquire where they were, they claimed to have called me and left a message when they had not. They refused to come later the same day, so I had to take off work again. And it turned out that they didn't even need to come inside my building so I didn't even need to take off work at all. Totally ridiculous!! read more

We had been with DirecTV for 14 years but when we moved to Prescott we decided to try Cable One. I am very pleased with the customer service at their office and tech support over the phone. The techs that did the install were very good too. However, we are not very satisfied with the DVR only being able to record 2 programs at once and we have to watch one while it records. In addition, the remote is very poor when we try to adjust the volume, and we're only 8-10' away. In my opinion, DirecTV has more advanced equipment than Cable One, or it might be available but at a higher monthly price. I also don't think the internet speed is as fast as advertised. Fast forward late 2015... Things got better for a few months and then around November started noticing loss of internet and phone around 11:00PM every night. That issue has gotten to the point where my daughters, on leave from college say that at around 2:00 AM Netflix and all wireless activity comes to a complete halt. On Christmas Day, we have over 18 full phone/internet outages. Techs told us it was "packet loss"...exchange modems with CableOne. It got better for 2 days then back to it's old ways. The standard answer from the Techs is- get a new modem, but how can it be a bad modem when it works fine for 2-3 days then goes bad for a day? I'm an expert at "hard reboots" on the modem which typically fixes the issue for 15 minutes or so. The new digital cable box--- pixilation all the time, picture quality in HD is horrible and it's just another remote laying on the table....very bad business decision folks. Increased cable tv costs- happen all the time with no new decent channels added. Bottom line, the Prescott, AZ need some competition. read more

Cable One has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My internet service is almost none existent at night. Don't bother calling this company to complain, it will get you no where. The attitude is they are doing you a favor. When I first started with this crappy company there was only one internet service and now they have three. I am on the lowest tier at $55 a month and if you go over your allotted amount they send you a warning when you are on the internet. I think they rigged it because every month I only use 20 percent of the allotted percentage. Please go elsewhere like I am going to do. read more

I have had this company for the past four months. I switched from centurylink because I paid for service I never got. This company however is great for service but EXPENSIVE and the customer service department (BILLING) screwed up and charged me twice and they claim to not see two charges when I physically see it on my account and they say they can't refund me for my second charge!!!! I am sick of fighting with this company. Another thing I went over on my usage for data three months and I had to upgrade. Well I got cable as well so now I am using 100GB per month and I HAVE TO HAVE the 500GB plan for the next three months, I am being forced to keep it for three months when I won't even use half of it before I can downgrade again! This is HORRIBLE and if centurylink had better service up here in prescott I would switch back and get direct tv instead for cable! Very bad experience with Cable One. I moved and a tech came and put in my new DVR. It stopped working so a second tech came to put it another one. He informed me that I have an old tv so if the second DVR doesn't work, then I need to buy a new tv. Gullible me, I bought a tv and guess what.... DVR still didn't work. I called tech support and the girl "tested my line" and said we need to come to their office and swap the remote. Did that..guess what? That's right, still didn't work. FINALLY a third, different tech came with a new DVR. He showed me the DVR that didn't work. It had been dropped and was damaged! After paying for a month of service when I didn't have tv and buying a new tv that I didn't need, my cable finally works.. read more

I find it funny that Cable One solicited a review from me as i cancelled within the 30 day money back guarantee period and requested a refund. Cable One was okay, but just okay. They don't have video on demand, they don't have pay per view, and limited recording capabilities. I ended up going with Dish and i am very, very happy with them so far. Cable One is just too basic and old school. When i called customer service to discuss they suggested I add some other services like Netflix. It took weeks to get hooked up but only days to know they weren't the service for me. If you just need a very basic TV package they might be right for you, but their very basic package is not much cheaper than full 120+ HD package with Dish, and Dish gave me HBO for a year for free. read more

Very happy with service in Columbus, MS!! I only wish that the upload speeds will get boosted 3mb upload is too slow. They have complained about using too much data for streaming Netflix and said they will have to charge more for data. No competition so they can charge what they want for data plans. read more

I wouldn't use this company if there was an alternative. To "fix" my cable issues, they had me reset my cable modem, which blew away all of my security systems.It took hours to get it back to where it needs to be, even though they told me to keep the default password so they could remote to the modem. That's just stupid since so could everyone else. They then sent techs to rerun the wire and screwed up the bricks in my patio and didn't say anything. More time spent to fix their "fix." So the cable modem is fine, the cable to the house checks out, now it's just inconsistent service. I called again, got the auto-tech who had me reboot the modem, then asked me questions about the modem lights. When I replied, robotech didn't understand me though I spoke slowly and enunciated. So, after wasting a half hour of my time, it transferred me to a live person who didn't understand what "I need assistance with my internet connection" meant. So, I gave up for the day. I'll block out a half day this weekend and try again. read more

This isn't directed necessarily to the Prescott AZ location.....just CableOne in general. So many things...where to start. If you're on paperless billing....you need to have your account number stored because without it you're screwed. If you don't know your account number and you want to go online and find out whats going on with your account.....you have to sign up with your account number. The receipt they email you doesn't have the account number. So you're screwed. Now your only option is to call them and ask for your account number. So you go to their website and ATTEMPT TO FIND A PHONE NUMBER :0) You've been a good customer for a year, paid on time and this is how they treat you. Search and search to find a phone number......there it is...."talk to us" button. Finally.......click and only to get a form to fill out my information and send them an email. Well CABLEOne.....In AMERICA that is not TALKING! So.....I finally call information on my cell phone because CableOne won't make it available. So I get a phone number from my carrier for CableOne....supposedly Prescott AZ. 888 number. They connected me to INDIA! Or at least an Indian American who spoke.....sounded like indian. He couldn't help me he said......he could only attempt to "save me" er.....my account anyway. So he gives me a phone number to Prescott Valley AZ where I was told they won't cancel my account until I send back my modem. Unlike Dish Network who cancelled my account immediately and said I had to have my equipment back within 30 days. But I suppose CableOne wanted to squeeze a few more days of service out of me. I would never do business with this company again. Either provide an easy to access phone number no business from this guy. If you don't mind getting into an technological maze to end up in a loop that circles the globe to countries like INDIA...then perhaps CableOne is for you. For anyone with any sense at all....they would heed my advise and find another, any other provider. read more

Worst ISP & High Speed Internet in the country. The term "high speed" is fraudulent advertising. Sometimes Cable One 50meg service runs as low as 5-6mbps. I just got off the phone with one of ;there techs, I was complaining about the service tonite, about how slow we are tonite. apparently they are only good if no one else is using the service. He couldn't tell me how big a slice I was entitled to or when my slice will be available for use so I guess I just sit here and watch the little buffering thing go around. What to say about Cable One.....nothing good, that`s for sure! To quote another review..."It is as bad as the reviews!" If you want customer service...look someplace else, McDonalds or Wendy`s perhaps. If you are expecting a short wait time when you call for service related issues after office hours(during business hours for that matter), especially on the weekends, have a good book or movie on hand or relax and take a short nap because obviously your cable or internet isn`t working.......you`ll have time trust me. If your expecting consistence, quality, reliable service from both the cable television and internet service provided by Cable One don`t expect to get your monies worth. And disregard the slight increase in your monthly bill here and there, they will insure you it`s necessary to provide you "With dependable quality service." or a "Necessary increase to keep the channel line up that all customers have come to enjoy". And touching base on the cost of the service provided by Cable One...my mom is on a limited fixed income and had to cancel her "basic" cable television service because she simply couldn`t afford it. Now,when your internet is down you can call the support number and wait on hold for a technician to help you. And while your waiting be sure to listen to the recorded message that tells you how you can go "online" and find solutions to help you trouble shoot the issue yourself. When their busy (again technical issues I`m sure and I can`t for the life of me figure out why so many costumers are calling at the same time) you`ll get a nice recording saying that they have a heavy call volume and to call back later...and then the system will abruptly hang up on you. Rude in most circles I`m certain but standard practice it seems for Cable One. I pay my bills on time each month and enjoy the services that, for instance APS provides me. I also know that, should there be a monsoon rolling through let`s say, the electric service might be affected. But,for the most part when I flip a switch the lights come on. When I open a faucet the water comes out. When I turn on the television to watch something or logon the computer to check my email it`s pretty much a crap shoot. Having said that....This review is strictly my opinion and most likely not subject to change. You may, although doubtful, experience different results. Long time Cable One subscribers voice your opinion....here and on Cable One`s Facebook page as well. It may not change things right away but might give the higher up`s at Cable One a little something to think about. As for me....when Cable One gets viable competition I`m most likely going to be one of the first to convert. To get cable television, internet, and the like from one source is the easy way to go. One closing comment...I give two thumbs to the many service techs I have dealt with on a face to face basis over the years. Me and my husband had cable one a little over a year ago the worst service on earth, we were on the phone troubleshooting every other week. We canceled service around 5 months ago at the time of cancellation we went to the office and returned the equipment and asked when we would be our deposit back and made sure we were all paid up to date. So we noticed its when quite some time and still no deposit came back so we called them and asked what the status is and they said we owe them $4 so we wont be getting a deposit back, we were completely outraged because we have had nothing but problems with this company from day one, and now this. They said they have been sending us a bill for this, we have never seen a bill for $4 EVER! So now my husband is escalating this and having this investigated.
