As the only High Speed Internet provider (100 Mbps or higher) in the area, there is little choice to run a business with anyone else. I have been waiting 2 weeks to upgrade my Internet service for my business. I am on my 3rd phone call over 2 days to try and get the service upgraded. The contract has been signed (2 weeks ago) and now multiple calls of sitting on hold, being transfered to one department to another, holding while someone reviews the notes on the account to find out what is going on, to transfer me to someone else. Yet, the service has still not been upgraded. While I am on hold, I a writting this review. During this time I get to listen to the propoganda on how Sparklight Business is here to help small businesses with high speed Internet and how they are here to make my life easier. No matter how many times I have to hear this message, it still is not true. They advertise providing managed Internet and Wi-Fi Services as a way to save you time and headaches. I can't imagine letting a business rely on Sparklight to manage the Internet and wireless for an office with Sparklight's poor service track record. I would give it a half star if it was an option. Sparklight sucks! I've lived here for less than 3 months and at least 50 times while watching a show, a "beep boop we have lost connection " sign comes up. Hulu and Netflix work fine and they require a WiFi signal, so it's not just the WiFi connection. Also, if I try to watch a show on Sparklight in my bedroom, it only gives me the option to record it or see the series info. I have called them to complain and try to get it fixed, but nothing they have done has helped at all. It is the worst cable tv company I've ever used. read more

We had the internet set up last Saturday and the 2 guys that came were wonderful, especially Dakota. Today the tv technician called first and was very nasty on the phone, we wanted tv service so we ignored it. Then he said he would be here at 10:30 am. ( it was currently 8:00 am. He showed up after HIS lunch. We told him that we were both disabled and he completely ignored what I had said. When he started complaining about what people think he should do, I said " I know, I heard you this morning and all of the things you weren't going to do " Kevin Milfur??" Said " I m happy to leave and you can get someone else to come out, they won't help you either." I stopped talking and let my brother in law ( who is suffering from cancer) take care of this horrible horrible person. This is customer service???? Really????? I just realized why Cable One changed their name to Sparklight. When your reputation and service is simply gross...their PR firm talked them into the old "change your name quick" trick. I've had their service for less than two weeks and I've encountered no less that two dozen outages. I've routinely spoken with their "Customer Service" team ( term used quite loosely), only to discover I have house plants with more sense than those people. I was recently down in the Phoenix area for 2 months for a family emergency and when I returned home to Lakeside, Sparklight was unwilling to offer any help, they had already disconnected service and sent it to collections with not so much as a phone call. When I called them upon my return and told them that they could verify that there was no usage of the internet for 2 months, they said they were unable to check because of the disconnection. I can't even do my online classes because they are closed on the weekends, I can't call anyone, it's just no good whatsoever. The download speeds in addition to bandwidth capability no matter what size plan you have, is fucking abysmal. Prescott will never have gig internet lmfao, it's a joke here. Liam, a technician with Sparklight, has been to our home a couple of times to fix our wireless internet problem and then to correct an issue created by the cable burying crew...which was minor but needed a technician to correct. Liam was wonderful!! He arrived on time, was very courteous and professional, and checked all power sources for cable, internet and phone. He was thorough but worked efficiently. Lost internet at 11:35 called and after over 30 minutes on hold had a customer service rep tell me there were no outages in my area. Set up for a tech to come out (first on Monday which I balked at since I work from home) then today between the time I was on the phone until 7pm. Then about 15 minutes later calls me back and says oh there IS an outage and we cancelled the tech. No idea when/if internet will be restored today. Is it possible for an ISP to worse than Comcast? It might well be. I find the Cable One network is terrible for me, at least in Granville. My internet is frequently so bad in the evenings I consider it near unusable. In my experience the Cable One has absolutely horrible customer service. We've called tech support multiple times and they've come off as completely unsympathetic and insist there are upgrades happening or planned but can't say they're in my area or when. My average ping to www.google.com is 151ms right now, with 40% packet loss. I just used Speedtest.net to Tempe and got 357ms ping and 3.13Mbit down and .37 Mbit up. read more

I have constant service interruptions on our tv's. TV will shut off by itself, will get messages saying there is an error, or will get circulating icon showing interrupted download. Called and to get an installer out; the only time window is 8-5, therefore you have to set aside the entire day. Had an appt. Friday, March 17, did not get an update on time frame until 11:30 am. Was told 12-1, then 1-2, then 2:15-3:15. No show. Called to arrange for Mon. March 20-again 8-5. Installer tagged door at 8 am as no one home, did not ring doorbell, did not hear this person. Called Sparklight, only to be told we had to reschedule. Now Wed. March 22 8-5. I told them that is 3 days had to be completely set aside. Could they please narrow the time frame. Answer: No. It doesn't work that way. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMPLETELY OVERPRICED. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Who does this? People have a life, you cannot continue to set aside entire days waiting for a service call. They don't care. Again terrible company, terrible service. Dear Cable One- Here's what I think about you! Continuously horrible service with internet that you cannot rely on at all. You claim to be the fastest, maybe so if you could get your stuff together and actually get it to work on a somewhat consistent basis. You sell more Internet than you can actually provide and knowingly do so. Frustrating is a kind word to use at this point. The speed you sell and the one I pay for is the biggest LIE of all! I was required to switch from cable to streaming from sparklight. It says on my account page that tv anywhere is available for phone, computer etc. After two 45 min calls to tech and online chat, I found that tv anywhere is not available for streaming customers (BTW I still pay the same as before). read more

I've lived a lot of places and had many ISP's and Cable One is, by far, the worst I've ever encountered for multiple reasons: 1) In spite of "April V." and her monotone niceties, the customer service is terrible. However, I feel their pain. To have to sit on the phone with angry customers all day, equipped with what has to be very little training about an aging, buggy network would be a devastating way to spend a M-F. The problems with Cable One have less to do with the Aprils and more to do with the Executives. So, April, I feel your pain even as you have to valiantly defend the rust bucket as it turds along the highway. 2) The ridiculous data caps are... ridiculous. Ridiculous and also surprising. Not one CO employee ever once mentioned the data cap and in fact, I only learned about it when I was told I went over it nine months into my CO experience. The data/speed bundles are too rigid and don't work well for most people. Most people I know that use CO, have larger families with Netflix habits that need decent internet speeds, but with larger data caps. CO cannot accommodate these types of families. If you need more data, they charge you for "blistering" speeds as well. 3) About those "blistering" speeds. I pay for 100Mb/s, however according to Cable One's own speed test on their website (which I assume is just Ookla in disguise), I routinely get 25Mb/s. This is normal. Don't let them tell you it's due to "peak hours" or some farce. You get about 25% of what you pay for with Cable One. April... don't even. 4) As I said above, I pay for 100Mb/s and got the surprise of a data cap of 300gb along with it. I've gone over that amount for three months now because it's 2017 and I BUY MY F***ING GROCERIES ONLINE NOW, LIKE AN ADULT. So now, I have to pay almost $100 for 150Mb/s (read: maybe 50Mb/s) that I don't need because of the rigidity and inanity of CO's plans. 5) Monopoly. You want "high-speed internet" in Prescott, AZ? It's Cable One or barely above dial-up (Century Link). Cable One has a monopoly on the internet in Prescott, AZ and it gives them no reason to fix their cobbled-together network. Here's a dream scenario for you... One day, a rich lawyer from a city somewhere decides to retire here in "Sun City North". He loves the countryside, but likes to be connected to the world he came from as well. He thinks that Cable One seems like a great fit for him, until month three of clueless customer service, low data caps and falsely advertised internet speeds. Not liking to waste his hard-earned money on an objectively poor product, he searches for another ISP, only to find crickets. In his rage, he forms a class action lawsuit against Cable One, because well, he's smart, and each and every one of us "one star reviewers" here on Yelp, receive tiny little checks in the mail from Cable One for the next 15 years. Centurylink was so bad I switched to Sparklight. I didn't realize I was going from horrible to complete worthless. After 10 days, my internet hardly works. It goes down 2-4 times a day, and often I just have download speeds below 5. They seriously don't care about customer service or their product. I've had 4 technicians to my house and they are clueless, then they leave with nothing fixed and I have to start over scheduling another service call. I asked to talk to a supervisor, but none will call. I wish they would leave town so someone else would come offer services. Do not use this company. read more

We switched to Sparklight streaming service in an attempt to save a few dollars. Every night we turn on the television at 5:00 pm to watch the evening news. Every night the television shuts off 2-3 times between 5:00 and 5:05 pm, just when we're we're listening to the top stories. Obviously we miss critical information. Between 5:05 and 9:30 pm, it goes off at least once or viewing is interrupted for a "software update". I've lost track of the number of software updates in just the last month. If Sparklight can't provide adequate streaming, it shouldn't be offered to unsuspecting customers. read more

From day 1 our internet (and cable) was out at least 5 times a day. We had technicians out several times and the service never improved. The tech actually went to our next door neighbor's house because he had called so many times, they just assumed it was him. We had to cancel. Then they stole $75 from us, because we cancelled our service before we had it for 90 days. We had to indur the crappy service for 3 months to get any credit. Cable One TV used to be a pretty good deal many years ago. Now... they are only interested in making the big bucks. The options to add channels are horrible as you have to add more than just a few and the prices are insane. Service is sketchy in many areas. Service calls can take forever. This is a follow up to the Sparklight review I posted last year. This is what has transpired since that review. I have constant issues with downtimes and outages that are all Sparklight generated. They just raised their internet rates without giving me prior notice, which is illegal and without giving me any opportunity to change services. I am considering filing an AG and FTC complaint. They did this after they discontinued supporting their email service which was part of the reason I signed up with them. So they killed their email, and then RAISED their internet rates! I have asked them to send a repair person to replace my cable box and they have refused telling me due to covid they won't do it. Well, there's no covid issues now and they still will not come and replace their old equipment. Stay away from them. read more

I've had the app for less than 24 hours and have had to call twice and the connection has been down at least four times. That means no tv. Took a month after the service installation date... Reason being they kept arguing about if they needed to run a new like to my house or if they can use the one from next door. They determined that it needed a new line. Left the cables hanging from the box on the side of the house for a whole month until I went in person to complain. They said sorry when should we schedule them to go out and fix it? Soonest we can get out there is 5 days.... Complained more got them to come out in 2.... I just did an extensive test of my modem with the manufacturer and they determined that the Sparklight cable signals are BELOW standard. I called Sparklight and the technician hung up on me. I am now waiting to speak to another. Their service is substandard and expensive!!! They periodically slow down the internet during peak times. They just want your money and give sub-standard service. If there was an alternative I would change immediately. Having no competition is just wrong! Update since then I'm glad I rented the router and not bought it. They replaced my router free and I had months of trouble free service since then. They don't seem professional like the companies in Illinois I dealt with. I get email from the owner yet never says his name or introduces himself, just a vague call me. Nope. During the last service call (of three) we had, where the tech replaced Tivo with a DVR, we told him we didn't need the small Niagra box we'd had hooked up to a tv in another room. He offered to take it back for us, and now they're trying to bill us for it...saying we never returned it. Immediate response on the calls, professional, wonderful customer service, tech support and install representative. On schedule with the dates and times they said they would arrive. This review of Sparklight is for their customer service center, unknown where it is located. I had to cancel my Sparklight Internet service because someone had cut the cable & I only had access to internet in a guest bedroom. The modem they sent would not boost the internet throughout the house. I was told that replacing the cable would be expensive & I just purchased the home & could not afford to pay a lot of money for new cable, so I cancelled. I found an electrician who would replace the cable for $400, so I contacted Sparklight to reinstate my internet service. They refused to work with my schedule (stating they only came to my area on Tu/We/Th, when their technician had been at my house on a Friday). Then they told me the soonest they could come out was mid July. . .on a Tu/We/Th only. It is 06/08/2021!!!! They are booked out more than a month? The only reason I gave Sparklight one star is because CYNTHIA in their Customer Service Center (855) 520-5408 WAS AMAZING & SHE WORKED SO HARD TO HELP ME AND ACCOMODATE MY SCHEDULE!
