(see picture for how it looked at 6-7 weeks, before i cut it.) they always give a relaxing foot and leg massage!

Sadly, I can HONESTLY say that I have tried every nail salon from Cameron Rd to the Domain - and I am not afraid to pay for quality. I can literally attest to the fact that I will pay a nail tech extra so that I receive a comfortable and not painful pedicure and a beautiful manicure or nail set. Well, almost out of actual fear that I won't get an appointment with my favorite nail salon (jokes) , I MUST recommend DK Nails at Braker and I-35 near Whataburger. Kim and her staff are amazing! My pedicure, that I have a delicious choice of for a fair price, is always relaxing and done well by Kim's staff. Kim, herself, is an incredible nail technician. Not only are my nails ALWAYS beautiful, but I have never had nail tips that have lasted longer or look more beautiful than when Kim has done them. From the most elaborate nail set to the most basic mani pedi, this salon is great. I love the fact that Kim has her son working with her. He is incredibly skilled and I love knowing that I am helping to support a local, family run business. Bottom line, this hidden gem is a great nail shop. The best thing? Even with a slight raise in prices due to the latest inflation, it's still the best deal in town. The chairs and the quality of Kim's products are excellent. My only advice? If you are having a group of people, call ahead. They have many salon chairs, but are sometimes working with a small, but efficient crew of professionals. I wasn't in the mood to drive elsewhere, so I said sure. I chose a soft pink dip powder, but once she started, the color turned out to be more of a peachy coral. She commented, Nice color, hmm, and I just replied with a hmm. I wish I had said it wasn't what I picked, but I thought this can be a new summer color and it's fine. The application, however, was poorly done. It wasn't clean or even. The polish was thick in the middle and thin on the sides just really bad. She kept saying, "Very pretty, yeah?" and I just nodded, looking confused, and kept replying, Yeah, yeah. The place was also unhygienic. At the end, she asked me to wash my hands with soap to see the final result. I did, and dried them with a paper towel. When she reached for my hand to take the towel, I said, It is fine, I'll throw it away, thinking she was just trying to help. But right after I tossed it, she picked it up from the trash can and used it to wipe the table she had just done my nails on. My eyes were wipe open. At that moment, I knew I would never come back. When I gave her my card to pay, I noticed she charged me $50. I asked, Wasn't it $45? She simply replied, Ah ah, 50. That's when I realized she had tipped herself. I just signed, didn't leave any extra tip, and walked out.

After running errands; against my better judgment I returned...mind you I need a refill, we'll she said fuck that part and proceeded to do the sns powder dip stuffsomething in my soul that it wouldn't go well; but I didn't wanna fuss. .....needless to say, my index finger nail broke off that day while typing at work, and within a week I was missing 7 nails‍ if they didn't charge as much as other places I wouldn't even trip; but for this price I should've went to my normal spot where I get what I pay for, it's clean and all the instruments are fresh, I watched her take the same tools she used on me and used on the chick with the appointment Yep I won't be back...the lady was super sweet; but I work to hard for my coins to waste like that. They're a charming, family-run salon that offers a wonderful customer experience. I received a gel pedicure and full set of acrylics this last visit. Pedicure used classpass credits but for the fresh acrylics and tip I paid $80. Ly is incredibly detail oriented. She was so meticulous about my nails and took the time to make sure I liked them throughout the process. I struggle with acrylics because techs I've used in the past have been aggresive and my nails/cuticles are sore for the first couple of days, but Ly is so talented and I didn't have this issue at all. It is clear that this family cares about their work and they take the time to make sure everyone leaves satisfied and I noticed this in their treatment of other clients there at the time as well. Because it is just the three of them, be prepared to spend some time there especially if its busy and for a fresh set of acrylics. Their teamwork is seamless and efficient, and their service is very personalized and throrough. Thank you Ly for being patient with me when I had to run out to catch a movie in time! No, they can't do it, it's too complicated, but I can get a fill . If a V French is too difficult why would I get a fill on 1 week grow out? I strongly suggest they learn new techniques. They're uneven and not short enough. And they hurt. For my manicure, I was expecting a completely different color. I paid for gel on my nails and it's just clear with a little bit of glitter. My engagement party is in 2 days and it is just a shame how these ended up looking. I am going to go elsewhere to have my nails redone. I tipped just to be nice, but absolutely will not be back.

She kept pressing the "60" second timer so each of my hands were under the light for 3 or 4 minutes each time. The polish was of poor quality, and has already bubbled up and peeled away except for two nails on my right hand and one nail on the left. The place literally REEKED of mildew and was filthy. I was the only customer in there, and that in itself should have been a sign for me to run out of there. They were also far too expensive for just a plain gel manicure. What a nightmare experience for something that's supposed to be soothing and relaxing. I will never go back, and I'm telling everyone about it.
