My wife recently had an accident that required her Toyota Rav-4 to be repaired. In my prior experience, my insurance company chose the auto body shop to have my pickup truck repaired after someone hit and ran in a parking lot. That experience was a nightmare as that shop did not communicate well, and when they did it was a series of false promises of when my truck would be ready that they did not deliver on. This time I decided to have the insurance company issue me the check and I would chose the shop. After a lot of research, I chose Spacetown Auto. I knew I had made the correct decision after my initial meeting with Christina. As a former employee in the insurance industry, she knew the ins and outs of what insurance companies try to do to minimize their bottom line. I actually learned a lot from Christina through the process of repairing my wife's car. Throughout the process, not only was Christina communitive, but she acted like an advocate on our behalf. For instance, there were parts the insurance company wanted to be repaired, but Christina insisted they be replaced with new parts. She even got my insurance company to refund part of my deductible due to them delaying the repair. Unfortunately, I was in a car accident recently. As soon as possible, I had the car towed to SpaceTown. The initial insurance estimate came in at a little less than $3,000. I was sure I would not get away that easily. The team at SpaceTown told me not to worry, and this was normal. They would continue to submit more information to get the entire project completed. The insurance company provided me with little information, but every time I called SpaceTown, they were on top of it. They did a beautiful job putting my car back together. I can't tell it was in an accident. It looks great, rides smoothly and the pain matches perfectly. They dealt with the insurance company to make sure everything necessary was covered. Spacetown has repaired two of our vehicles. In both instances, the work they did was superb and meticulous (they even fixed an area that we didn't even notice needing fixing!). They finished both our vehicles when promised, and they worked hard to save us money when they could, which was greatly appreciated. They were very accommodating, honest and kind, and their receptionist is so friendly and helpful! We've had experiences with other auto body shops, and those shops did not begin to compare with the excellent service we received at Spacetown. So I'm giving two stars to my recent visit because the job was done well. And I have the upmost respect for small businesses as my girlfriend has a small business as well. With that being said, I had ordered and paid for most of the part as well as the job 16 days ago. I was told it would be a quick delivery and a quick process from the part came in. I let about a week and a half ago by and had not heard anything from the business. So when I called at the end of last week I was told that it would be there either Friday or Monday and I said OK thanks for letting me know. It seems like it's taking a while. When I did not receive a call on Friday or Monday, I called on day 15 and spoke to the front desk, and they said they will call me back. When they called me back, they told me that they had not placed my order until a week after I had already paid. This was frustrating to me, because when I had called at the end of the week before they did not inform me that they had not ordered my part until a week after I had already paid, but just told me that it would be there on those different days and not because they have not ordered it. I wish somebody would've called and told me that and not just assumed that I'd be OK with waiting this long and that I had to call and find out the reason why this process took this long. It would've been nice if they hadn't charged me full price for everything since there was lack of communication and I had already paid most of my money, two weeks ago, and they had not ordered my part until a week after paying. Like I said the job was done well but the customer service and communication as well as being honest was poor. It could've been made right but there was no effort on the staffs behalf to do so. read more
