From the moment the accident happened we knew we wanted Eastern Auto Body. We have used Eastern in the past with excellent results. We received the same excellent care and attention this time! We love the option to receive text updates! They finished with my car even earlier than originally estimated. Original completion date was 7/12/24. It was ready 7/10/24! Communication with Eastern is excellent! They even put a license plate holder I had in my car onto my rear plate! They cleaned my car up! I took my 1992 Dodge Stealth here. With how old it is, there would have been some major complications with the body work and faded paint I wanted fixed. With that being the case, they buffed out the obvious black marks and decided it would be best to not move forward. Since they did not repair the large dent I had originally gone for, they did not charge me anything. Their honest advice is in large while I will likely return in the future. read more

I showed up at Eastern Auto Body - having been referred there by my insurance company - Allstate - with my 2014 VW Touraeg (diesel). It sustained superficial damage in a collision with someone emerging from a parked car that damaged my exterior rear view mirror and scrapped/dented passenger side doors. Was told when I dropped it off that the damage, although superficial, might exceed the blue book value as the car is 10yrs old w/ 150K miles. They said after consulting with Allstate they would let me know outcome and i could decide how to proceed. few days later got a called from Allstate adjuster telling me repair costs would run ~15K and car worth ~ 10K. hence I could take a check from Allstate for 10K and scrap the car Or I could retain car and spend what I wanted on repairs. I choose to retain car (it ran great and was diesel which gets great mileage) after I informed Allstate of this they called me with disturbing news.................the car had been dismantled and Eastern will only reassemble if I pay them $900! Huh? who said they could take it apart? Told Allstate that I wanted my car restored to the condition it was in when dropped off. Allstate calls me back next day and said Eastern Auto not able to reassemble b/c in taking it apart it destroyed many parts in the process & without these parts the car wasn't highway safe. I was shocked, bewildered and more than a little angry. then I thought a face to face conversation with the owner might be a way to resolve this. So I met with the owner, Mr. Daniel Gunter and expalined the care was important to me, I had been driving it without problems for several weeks while waiting for an opening in his repair shop and had no expectation that they would take it upon themselves to render my car inoperable in the process of assessing the damage done. So he tells me that he needs to do a better job of telling the guys in the front office that when a customer drops off a car for body repairs they should be told that their car might be taken apart with no assurance that it will be reassembled by Eastern! thats when I called a lawyer. we are now at a standoff. I want the care put back together & operable so it can be driven off the lot in condition it was in when brought there. They have refused to do so and are trying to charge me $100/day to "store" it. I am hoping when I get this in front of a judge a better outcome will happen.............yes it will be expensive..........but if I win i'll be able to recover my legal expenses. Stay tuned. I had a very frustrating experience with Eastern, and the only reason this isn't a 1 star review is that the staff were generally friendly (if unhelpful and uninformed) when I interacted with them. A huge piece of ice fell off the roof of my building and did a ton of damage to the back end of my car, so it was at Eastern being repaired for over a month (which was expected). They originally told me the repairs would be finished by 2/25, and that they had all of the parts they needed except the windshield which was arriving in the next couple of days. A week later they said that the windshield had arrived but they were still waiting on one more part which "should be arriving tomorrow". Over the course of the next week I called every other day (because they didn't ever call me when they said they would) for an update and the answer was always "sorry the part isn't here, should be in tomorrow". As it turns out, the part they were waiting for HAD arrived, but Toyota had sent them the wrong part. This happened THREE TIMES. I can understand the wrong part being delivered once, but for the wrong part to be sent to them three times in a row shows a serious breakdown in communication. I wish someone from Eastern had told me what was happening so that I could have been involved in communicating better with Toyota and making sure the correct part was sent, but no one ever filled me in on what was actually happening. Because of this delay, I hit my insurance maximum on my rental car and had to pay $350 out of pocket to the rental company. I spoke with the rental company and my insurance company who both said there was nothing they could do and to take it up with Eastern. I explained the situation to Eastern, and Chad promised me he would speak to his manager about the situation and see if there was anything they could do. Unsurprisingly, Chad never called me back. When they finally finished the repairs (over 2 weeks after 2/25) they said it would be ready by the "end of Tuesday for sure" which of course ended up being "sorry Wednesday morning at 9am". I showed up at 9am and had to wait 45 minutes for them to "finish cleaning up the car real quick" before I finally got it and drove away. I was halfway home when they called me to say "Hey sorry we still have one of your floor mats here can you come back so we can give it to you?". And after ALL OF THIS, barely a week after getting my car back, the seal around the lock on the trunk just... fell off. So now there's a hole in my trunk lid that's open to the elements and I'm driving around with a piece of collision wrap taped over it so water and debris don't get inside the trunk. My impression overall is that the people who were at Eastern are friendly but wildly disorganized with very poor communication with each other and with their customers. The only reason I went to them is because USAA said they were a "preferred shop" that they work with a lot, and I sincerely hope they get their act together because this was (and CONTINUES TO BE) one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever gone through. A different body shop is trying to fix their half-assed trunk installation. Please save yourself a massive headache and go ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR CAR. read more

Guy from Eastern Auto Body called me within hours of receiving the appraisal to schedule a drop-off, and arranged to have a rental waiting at the shop for me upon dropping off my vehicle. I couldn't be happier with Eastern Autobody. I hit a deer 4 months ago and unfortunately, there is a chip shortage. Eastern had my car already to go quickly but the car was missing the chip for the whole airbag system. The expectant day for the part kept being pushed back. My insurance company was going to stop paying for the car rental after a month, but Bill went to them on my behalf and was able to get them to continue covering the rental until the car was completed. He opened a case with Honda and was on the phone with them once a week. He tried really hard to get the part here as fast as possible. He was diligent in keeping me up to date the whole time. If I did call Eastern, the employees were all extremely helpful and friendly. 135 days later the part finally came in. When we went to pick up the car, the owner took very good care of us. Unfortunately, we discovered on the next day the air conditioner wasn't working. We called Eastern back and they told us to bring the car back in. They set us up with a rental and covered the cost. The next day they called us and the car was ready to go. There was just an air pocket in the lines. We now have the car and it looks great and the ac is ice cold. We are very happy customers and will absolutely recommend them to anybody who needs their services. Thank you, Eastern! read more

I had the pleasure of using Eastern Auto Body last week and I have nothing but good things to say. from the front office help to the work they do everything was a good experience for me. I dropped off my car which had a badly damaged rear bumper which I was sure would need to be replaced, they told me they could use a heat treatment to remove the dents and puncture. dropped off my car monday afternoon and it was ready to be picked up Wednesday afternoon. bumper looks brand new, you could never tell it's ever been in an accident. they even clean your car for you. i would definitely recommend using eastern auto body. - Bryan read more

I'd be very hesitant to use this shop. My vehicle was hit requiring only some plastic bumper pieces for repair and I am not completely satisfied with the repair work. When I went to pick up my vehicle there were imperfections in the paint that I noticed right away and requested them to be resolved. Those were taken care of, but a couple of weeks later I've now found a couple of runs in the paint. This was a fairly straightforward repair and should have been taken care of the first time, in my opinion. The guys in the front office were very personable and helpful, but the individuals doing the actual work don't seem to have the attention to detail that I expected. read more

I brought my car here after it had been hit in a parking lot. This was the shop that worked directly with Progressive, the insurance company that handled he claim. The job was done in a timely manor and done perfectly at that. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, especially when I couldn't pick up my car exactly the day that it was done. This company is terrible, as a college student they try to rip you off. They work with other schools nearby and tow cars. They are not professional, they laugh in your face and they do not know how to tow, they will damage your car. One can clearly see that the new bumper didn't look right but they insist that's what it is suppose to look like. and my car lost substantial value.
