Left a negative review of this business on the Google page for destruction of private property and unprofessional behavior. It was over a 2mm pinfire pistol keychain that was a momento from a friend that died from cancer. The mechanics in Thier own words and omission played with it and broke it. Bending the slide release essentially destroying it. It can no longer cycle. Nor strike with the striker pin. They threw 40 bucks at me to shoo me out. When they tried to claim it is unreasonable to expect private property to be saved in a vehicle being serviced. I said. "I have a shovel in the back. Would your mechanics hit each other over the head out of boredom if they found it?" An insult I threw them out of frustration. They are claiming that was a threat of violence. All the McDowell Auto Body staff people were pleasant and easy to do business with. My wife's Toyota RAV4 was hit by a car that veered out of its lane. The left rear door had to be replaced. They even buffed out the other side that was keyed by some low life in a parking garage! The work was timely (4 days) and they direct billed to our insurer. All in all a great experience. Jimmy (the owner) is an amazing guy. He is a true professional and very honest / trust worthy. He has worked on several of my cars. On one occasion, the actual cost of the repair came out to less than half of what he estimated. When I asked him why it was so inexpensive...he told me that it took less time than he thought it would. Who does that? How many times has anyone ever told you that it was easier than thought...so they charged you less? Great guy...great shop...great company. read more

This place is the best in the business! Brought my car here after sliding into a tree leaving a big dent and chipping off big junks of paint. They fixed my car better than new. You could never tell it was in an accident. They did an amazing job matching paint and fixing the dent. The employees are very informative and pleasant to speak with. When I went to pick up my car they went above and beyond for me. I found my car had been washed, waxed, vacuumed, been interiored wiped cleaned, gas tank topped off, and air in my tires. Stay away from this place. Poorly organized and RUDE estimators. I booked an early appointment with an individual on the phone and was told there would be no problem. This is a fleet vehicle so an employee arrived onsite only to approach by a disgruntled estimator who was unaware of our appointment. He took a look at the vehicle and then said that he would make an estimate if he got around to it. Called him up later to see what he thought of the vehicle. The estimator let me know that since we already received a check from our insurance company he wasn't interested in giving us a quote unless he was doing the work. Told me it was pointless for him to even put one together and said that if he did quotes for every car that came in he wouldn't get any work done. Said he didn't want to deal with someone just bringing vehicles to different body shops for quotes. HOW ARROGANT! Simply assuming one is price shopping isn't the right way to secure business. When I told him I am a mid-sized business and not looking to price shop just looking to looking to just get the repairs done he said he would fax me something when he got around to it. This used to be a reputable place I would bring all my personal vehicles but the attitude of this estimator has changed that for good. STAY AWAY. They obviously don't need any business. read more

Could not be happier with the service provided by Dave and everyone at McDowell's. My Honda Civic needed some paint and body work that was being covered by my insurance company. I have had my vehicles repaired by independent shops before and have never been happy with the repair(corners cut, over spray paint, etc). McDowell's was highly recommended to me and I was leery at first but was willing to give them a shot. McDowell's went out of their way to make sure the job was done right and not just how the insurance company wanted it done, which was as cheap as possible as usual. McDowell's went back and forth with the insurance company to make sure I was going to be happy with everything that needed to be done to the car.
