Food was great, drinks were awesome, & excellent service. Lower lit ambiance to let the decor pop, but if you need a table light you can request one. The robots brought out most of our drinks & appetizers. Our main entree was brought by staff. Food was excellent. The space balls were similar to a ceviche, but better. The beef short rib was slow cooked & tender. The expresso martini on menu was a little strong, but very tasteful. Servers & staff were quick to pre-bus table & get empty plates & drinks out of the way. Didn't get an itemized receipt at the end, a little pricey, but well worth it.
Came here on a Sunday evening with family (4 of us total) and we were seated right away. I loved the ambiance and decor inside including the sparkly flooring in the bathroom without being tacky. There is a track along each table where a robot will drop off dishes directly to the table. Our server recommended that each person order at least 2-3 dishes (1-2 small dishes and 1 main dish). Our table shared the following: -Space balls (salmon tartare, goat cheese, tangerine, capers, puri; tuna tartare, lemongrass, cilantro, ponzu, puri) -Hamachi (coconut leche de tigre, lemongrass, ginger, serrano, lime zest) -Torched crispy rice trio (salmon tataki-coffee gravlax, avocado, morita aioli; seared tuna-citrus crust, serrano aioli; seared beef filet-brown butter béarnaise sauce) -Burrata and speck (seasonal fruit, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette and caramelized pepitas) -Roasted octopus (spicy chorizo, house adobo, taro purée) -Corn ribs (citrus chili oil, serrano aioli) -Ube foam panna cotta (vanilla & thyme infused panna cotta with ube foam & torched seasonal fruit) All the small plates/appetizers were good but my personal favorite was the torched crispy rice trio (especially the seared beef filet surprisingly since I'm not a big meat eater). Our server recommended the space balls which we weren't going to initially order but we were glad we did. They were so flavorful but bite sized that I almost wanted to order another one. The roasted octopus was decent but I couldn't taste the taro puree. The burrata and corn ribs were both good but not standout dishes. I think we overordered on the small plates section since we weren't hungry enough to eat our main dishes and each of the dishes are not cheap either. We each ordered our own main dishes. I had the inked seafood risotto (shrimp, scallops, mussels, baby clams, speck, squid ink, fennel) while hubby had the braised short rib (port demi-glace, fresh herbs, truffle oil, vanilla mashed potatoes). We both enjoyed our dishes but I was already pretty stuffed from all our appetizers. We shared the ube foam panna cotta for dessert which was enough for us to take a bite but it was probably the most underwhelming dish of the night. It looked like it was the most popular dish on the menu per Yelp but it tasted like the fridge and wasn't freshly prepared. Overall, food was good (but expensive) and came out in a timely manner.
I love Space Cowboy! Whenever I come to Austin, I always make a stop here for dinner. They're always able to accommodate small or large parties, but I tend to make a reservation every time. There's a pretty big lot in the front for parking as well! This time our experience wasn't the same as past times I've been because it seemed like only 2 robots were working. Nonetheless, the food came out quickly. They offer lots of mocktails here which is nice! My favorites to always get are the stardust fries, the corn ribs with hummus, and the short ribs! The fries are perfectly seasoned and crispy. The corn ribs with the chili oil crunch are phenomenal! They only come with 2~ per dish so plan accordingly when ordering! The sliders are always surprisingly good! I think the crudo and the baba ghanoush can be a skip -- a lot of our table felt the crudo was a bit too fishy and the flatbread was almost crumbly! For dessert, we tried their new pear tart and it is phenomenal! It is flaky and has a nice smoky caramel flavor to it! We also always get the chocolate ganache and banana ice cream. They also gave us a free cotton candy for the table!
Space Cowboy has been a place I wanted to try for a little while. I finally got a chance to musk up the courage to fight traffic to venture downtown Austin to try this place out. First impression from the outside. There is very limited parking in the restaurant lot. Luckily I had planned ahead and booked a Resy for 4pm (when they open) Saturday. We had gotten there there a few minutes earlier to make sure we were able to get parking. Parking is free if you are dining at Space Cowboy. When we got there, there's already people waiting in the parking lot for the restaurant to open to come inside. Upon entering, we were transported to another galaxy. There's a space vibe here and all the decor is very fitting for the name Space Cowboy. Moon floors, cactus , artwork for sale, cloud lights, moon lights, & upper scale seats and table. There's dividers on the table walls so you can get some privacy. I love that they had a small table for the ladies to put their purse on by their table. Vibe check is a pass! What we ordered: Space balls- $16.75- 2/5 This dish was highly recommended by the waiter because it's one of their top seller. Unfortunately I really wanted to enjoy this dish but it was simply super salty. I love the puri balls and the texture was great with the salmon but it was heavy on the salt. According to my family member they told us we should have went on a weekday and that the food is better because they had the Space balls and it wasn't salty. :/ .. very strange. Torched crispy rice trio- 16.75- 3/5: It came with 3 pieces of crispy rice topped with salmon, steak, and tuna. The salmon was super salty. The steak had an Asian flavor and was interesting. Steak was tender. Overall, not the best crispy rice I've ever had but it's decent. Crispy rice was super crispy. Just wish they were not heavy handed with the salt. Steak tartare $18.75- 4/5: this dish was the best dish out of the 5 dishes. The steak tartare was cut not minced like how other steak tartare I had. It was unique with the fact the steak was cut in smaller chucks. The steak was super soft and melt in your mouth. The flavor overall is balanced. They serve along with it a cup of different chips (sweet potatoes & taro chips) and bread. I think my favorite was the Taro chips because it was wider in size so when scooping the steak tartare chunks it was easier to eat. The sweet potato chips was too small and the steak tartare was falling off of it when trying to eat. It was a battle to get the sweet potato chip with tartare in your mouth before chunks of tartare falls off. I gave up and use a fork to scoop the tartare and then stick the potato chip in my mouth which I think it takes away from the dish appropriate eating experience. The bread they could done without because it did not complement with the tartare in any way. The soft and chewy texture of the bread made the dish subpar. I appreciate the variety but the taro chip pair well the tartare and I wish there was more than two pieces of taro. Roasted octopus $24.95- 2/5: Beautiful dish. I wish the dish tasted as good as it looks. The octopus had some pieces that were tender and other pieces that were super chewy which indicates overly cooked. This dish is actually pretty bland. There were different types of sauces but none complimented the octopus and puree well. This dish needed acid and the potato needed to be cooked 1 minute more. It was still pretty firm . Cowboy duo sliders 17.95 - 3/5: meaty and the meat was juicy. Love the texture of the fried onions in the sliders. It was tiny but mighty. A very straight forward slider but wasn't anything that stood out. Even though the description states steak but the meat was grounded up for a meat patty. Ordering process: Your waiter will take your order but all of your food and drinks will come out on the train. The trail trails are right next to your table. Once the train stops you will need to grab your food out. If you somehow missed your train, don't panic. Your waiter will bring it to your table. We didn't miss any 4 of train drop offs. Service was ok. It wasn't anything personable or stood out. Staff wasn't cheery and it was transactional . The restaurant was toasty temperature inside and we got pretty hot. Do I recommend this place? Honestly I am torn because I like the vibes but only 1/5 dish was good. The food wasn't anything memorable and was salty. Over hyped? Not sure if I went on a bad day or if the Chefs were salty but I felt the staff was salty including the host. Based on my personal experience I can't recommend this place. It might be a place for the experience of the train rather than the food.
3.6/5 Very cool concept and insta worthy. Love the nice low lighting inside and their comfortable booths. Food wasn't that great though. We ordered the spaceballs, trio, corn ribs and steak. None of them really stood out. Maybe the corn ribs had the most flavor but I found the other dishes to be quite bland and not memorable. Service was good although they did give us the check too soon even though the place wasn't busy.
Fun concept, beautiful setting, and delicious food! I was surprised by how beautiful the interior of Space Cowboy is. I knew they had robots delivering some plates, but it is designed in a surprisingly upscale and beautiful manner. The robots are discreet - and a fun addition - did not feel gimmicky to me at all. Each robot has a name and description that are fun to notice. Our server, who took our order, and delivered some plate was kind and engaging. On his recommendation, we ordered the Braised Short Rib as a main. Definitely recommend ordering this - as it fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious. For apps/sides we split the Space Balls, which included salmon tartare, goat cheese, capers, and tuna tartare. The waiter highly recommended this dish and for good reason! We also split the Stardust Fries, they were as delicious as you would expect from parmesan, truffle oil, and marita aioli toppings. The only side we could have skipped were the corn ribs - they were very heavy handed with the cirtus chili oil, which took away from the creativity and flavor profile of the dish. For dessert, we split the Chocolate Ganache and gelato - it was a bit heavy for me. Overall, would highly recommend a visit here.
Found this spot on Yelp when looking for a cool new restaurant to take some friends to a thank you dinner. The cocktails are great, the service was super fast because everything gets delivered by the little robots. Definitely a cool spot and the food and drinks were excellent.
A very unique take on the dinning experience. The atmosphere is a Modern Jetson style where a conveyor belt robot brings you your food and drinks as they are ready. It's quite fun and you never know which dish is going to come by next. The food is an eclectic mix of ingredients and flavors with interesting takes on standard dishes. The food is meant to be shared. Standouts were the Space Balls, Corn Ribs, Crispy Rice Trio and the Hamachi in Leche de Tigre. All were freshly made and delicious. You can easily see their attention to detail in the preparation and the mixture of ingredients really work. Service was fantastic.
Ok, I got here with a reservation for 7pm and I was seated at 7.45pm, that's unacceptable with a previous reservation. I complained a few times and I got a glass of champagne but still...I was about to leave to another place. The ambiance at this place is very upscale and futuristic, the robots are the ones serving you the meal and drinks, they stop right next to your table and you have less than a minute to grab your plate before they leave. Alright, the food here is OUTSTANDING! I'm Glad I stayed but they seriously need a better system for their reservation and seating charts. Might come back, not sure...
Space Cowboy is a fun, futuristic and sci-fi forward restaurant and bar on East 7th Street in Austin, TX. Your food and drinks are delivered by robot, i.e. spaceships. How cool is that? Being at Space Cowboy makes you feel like you are in fantastical, mythical world. The vibe is sci-fi like with these cool lighting fixtures...it looks like the convergence of chicken wire and Christmas lights. This would be a cool place to take someone visiting Austin for the first time. Menu features tapas like dishes. Space balls and inked seafood risotto were uniquely prepared...full of flavor and texture-forward. I would definitely bring back visitors to the restaurant if nothing more than to see the robots.
This place is a full vibe. I visited with a group of friends and loved the ambience. Beautifully space-inspired with dreamy lighting and cloud-like ceiling structures that really set the mood. I ordered the Venus Seduction, which was delicious, and their in-house crafted cocktail menu was impressive. We tried a variety of dishes including garlic fries, corn ribs, mushroom risotto, mezze platter and sliders. Everything was well-portioned and great for sharing. The risotto and Ube Panna Cotta were the highlights for me. Definitely a spot I'd visit again.
For the cosmic traveler at heart, with a foodie soul within! Listen! I enjoyed my time fully at Space Cowboy. Pictures don't do this place justice. It is so clean, mellow, and yet so full of cosmic wonder. It's decorated so nicely. Shout out to my robot waiter friend Kyle. My waitress was amazing and so helpful when figuring out when to order! I enjoyed mostly everything that I ate Corn rib - yum! I loved the extra spice. The corn was easy to eat and full of flavor in every single bite. Space balls- if you like ceviche, you would like this ! It was flavorful and the crunchy layer was perfect. Short rib and vanilla mashed potatoes.- The potatoes shocked me with the hint of vanilla, the balance was perfect. I loved my short ribs! Very juicy and flavoral protein for sure. This is a beautiful dish that's executed well. Alien blood drink - it had A very tropical vibe and wasn't too strong! The cotton candy was complimentary and I loved it. My dessert was a pear tart dessert with vanilla ice cream. It isn't on the menu. I didn't enjoy it. The crust on it was good. But it fell short for some reason. The vanilla ice cream was perfect!
Space Cowboy is such a fun little escape. The vibe is quirky, colorful, and effortlessly cool, making it perfect for drinks and catching up with friends. The cocktails were creative, the atmosphere was lively, and the whole place just feels very Austin in the best way. The service was 10/10 sad to see them close
Very cool and so fitting for Austin's east side. We took our son here as a surprise for his birthday and we all thought it was really cool. The capsules delivering our food was the coolest part of our experience. We were lucky in that we were seated near the delivery track as there are tables that are not attached to the track and so your food is delivered by a waitress which to me, unless you are there for the food, kind of defeats the purpose. The cars were always accurate with the delivery of our food and drinks throughout our meal. For starters we chose the space balls and the shishito peppers and both were very good. Our mains consisted of the braised short rib and hickory smoked chicken. The smoked chicken was delicious, but the short rib was a bit too salty and we were not able to finish it. Our waitress surprised our son with a cotton candy dessert and he loved it. Overall, we had a good time, but it was a tad bit pricey. read more

A fun experience! We went on a weeknight and had no problems getting a table. The ambiance is vibey and unique making for a fun date night. Each plate was beautiful and yummy! The only reason I didn't give a full 10/10 was because the robot brought us a wrong drink but our waitress was kind to bring us the right one. read more

Loved my experience both times I've gone to space cowboy. So unique with the "robots" bringing your food out. Great with friends or a date night. The decor inside is so cute and so fun where space meets cowboy. You are assigned a server as well as the robots bringing your food so you will get excellent service! My favorite are the space balls and have such a good balance of flavors. Got the special beef Wellington which was so savory and delicious. On one of my visits we got champagne and the glasses were so cute! Excited to come back with friends or a fun date night read more
This restaurant has a great ambiance and such a fun vibe! The little robots that bring your drinks and food are very unique. The service was great from both the people and the robots. We ordered a lot of shareables and I failed to take pictures of most. The fries are amazing and so are the ribeye sliders (they melt in your mouth). The burrata was okay, nothing special. We also got the shishito peppers which were delicious. All the drinks that we got were great. We tried the moonlit cabana (island tequila vibes), marg on mars (fruity and slightly spicy marg), alien blood (refreshing creamy vodka drink), and smoke house. I would say the drinks are on the slightly pricier side for Texas but still great. We also tried the matcha mascarpone meringue which was yummy. They have a fun passport rewards program going on for the summer, so we will be back! read more

What a FUN NIGHT OUT! It's cozy and the tables feel small and close together but the food was amazing and who doesn't want drinks and food delivered by a robot? The staff was knowledgeable and efficient. Super fun. read more

This is such a wonderful restaurant and surprisingly very kids friendly. The restaurant is space themed, with robot delivering food to the table, so cool! The dishes we ordered were very tasty. I love the short ribs and ricotta dishes we ordered. My kid loved the burger sliders. They got extensive cocktail menu. I like their cloud cocktail. They got pretty spacious onsite parking lot, which is always a plus in east Austin. I think they got the best high chair and kids toy for my toddler in Austin! Can't wait to got back! read more

Such a cool place! The food was good, service was good, and vibe was great! The food and drinks come to you in a space shuttle, so different and cool! We got alien blood and the lychee for drinks. So tasty, nothing to complain about. We got a good variety of food as well. We got broccolini, corn ribs, tar tar trio, ribeye, shishito peppers, and burrata salad. Not a fan of the tar tar trio, but others might like it. It was just not my style. The corn ribs were good, but it felt like there was any corn on it. The flavor was really good tho. Everything else was perfect! I highly recommend this place and would love to go back! read more

I absolutely loved this place. We got a reservation last minute on New Year's Eve and we were able to dine in such a wonderful ambience. The drinks came out on little space trains, and the drinks were really really good. The food itself was absolutely amazing though that was the best part we ordered the short rib and the ribeye and it was an amazing experience and great service. read more
I think a 3.5 would be most accurate. I'm still a bit confused about the experiences. The food was really tasty, but the whole night just felt off, maybe because it's a holiday weekend and it was busy for a Sunday? I'm not sure. We arrived around 7:30pm and they only had a table for 2 right by the door, which was unpleasant but we took it anyway. There were a lot of people standing around waiting near us. After we were not greeted by a waiter for nearly 20 minutes, we got up to leave. The hostesses saw us and asked us to stay and said they had just flagged our waiter and they offered us champagne to stay. So we sat back down. Our waiter was nice and energetic, and I'm not sure any of this was his fault. But the issues continued. Our food was delicious but one item came out wrong and was sent back, so we had to wait again to get that out, and after we had eaten it, the waiter brought out another serving, thinking that was the fixed out. So he thought we had been waiting even longer for the actual dish. Then we finished and wanted to leave, and he said he would bring us a special dessert, but we ended up waiting another 20 minutes for that too. So we really just wanted to go. Food wise, everything was tasty. We got the hummus, sliders, space balls, Krispy rice, and broccolini. I had the mocktail of the Life Water and enjoyed it. It was beautifully plated and the flavors were really strong and fresh. I would eat the food again. But it felt like we spent most of the night waiting and just watching the robots circle the track...so not an overall great experience. read more

This restaurant is a must-try in Austin. Not only is the decor super interesting and the food served by robots, the food itself is next level. So it's a really interesting dining experience overall. The staff are great. It's a really fun vibe. They have comfortable booths and Aesop soap in the bathroom. They had roses everywhere for Valentine's Day. The cocktails were really good! It was a quality experience! read more

The food was immaculate everything tasted fantastic.each drink was hand crafted and personalized by the bartender. The service was chef's kiss our server Michael was very personable and helpful. The ambiance was elegant with a touch of uniqueness. Having drinks and food being delivered by robots was a unique experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. My only gripe would be is the parking for the restaurant is terrible, but if you are able to get a spot you won't regret it. read more

What a fun and unique way to dine. My husband and I came on a Sunday evening around 5pm. It wasn't busy which is great. You order your food and drinks with a server, and a robot brings your dishes! Prices are on the higher end, but food is pretty good. I really enjoyed the tuna space balls and the ube panne cotta. The Lady in Veil drink was a bit too sweet in my opinion. Talking to the waiter, it seems like this place can get packed on the weekends and sometimes the robots shut down. When that happens, service can take more time. I recommend for a few snacks and cocktails before dinner, but you may need to order a lot to get full. read more

THE BIG: Located right off of 7th Street in East Austin. Small parking lot available. Inside is a dark space + desert theme with small rocketships delivering food. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here on a Sunday afternoon after booking on resy. Service was great with the waitress coming up and explaining the menu. Then the serving service was super fun with the rocketship zooming by you delivering your food and drinks. We got a lady in the veil cocktail that was a nice summer drink with a refreshing aftertaste. We weren't too hungry and wanted to check out the space so we got the space balls, stardust fries and finished off with the ube panna cotta. The space balls were interesting as it's essentially crudo in a pain puri ball. Stardust fries had so much dust on it, it was great. And the ube panna cotta is always a nice, not too sweet dessert to finish off the meal. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for 3 dishes and a drink was around $65 including tip. I'd visit again and try some more of their dishes since the whole experience is really fun! read more

What a fun way to spend Father's Day, or just a fun night with friends. Food and cocktails were unique and exciting (delivered on a robot train). Service was stellar, to be a little puny, out of this world. Jared gave us some great recommendations which were all spectacular. We can't wait to go back and try more culinary delights. Favorites included, space balls, shishitos, sliders, bone marrow, octopus, cowgirl steak, and short ribs. Don't skip dessert! The mousse was ridiculously good, even the edible flowers added something special to the palate. read more
It's a no for me... just a bit off. From the ambiance to the robots, I see what they're going for but they sadly just missed the mark. The robots are a bit gimmicky and I felt like the food was a bit meh. We didn't get the space balls even though other people seem to like them... so maybe that is where I went wrong. I will say the crispy rice trio was good, and the beef tartare had good flavor (but was too small). Also there were many many typos on the menu which turned me off from the start. It might be worth visiting once, but isn't somewhere I'd ever return to. read more

Don't come here too early because you might not get much robot action. While there are waiters and waitresses to take your order, the food is delievered via a train robot. So, if there isn't anyone in the restaurant during the time you're there, you'll only get the robot that delivers to your table. I also didn't like the fact that considering there weren't many people in the restaurant, my friend and I were seated near the bar where we were the robot's first stop then back to the bar it went, so we surely didn't get much robot action considering we weren't far from the docking. However, the staff were friendly and the food is good. I ordered the Cowgirl Cut. This is a 6 oz cowgirl cut with smoked butter and spicy chimmichuri. It doesn't come with any sides so I also ordered the corn ribs. Both were really tasty but I believe the advertising for this is different than what they actually offer. It appears the advertising is to get you in the door and then you're given a smaller portion. Great restuarant for kids or larger parties as parties of 1 or 2 get seated near the bar/docking of the robots. read more

Honestly pretty mid. Expensive for what you get. It's instagrammable and a cool experience but you definently don't need to go more than once. Food was all a bit oversalted. I could see it being cool for showing out of towners, but other than that, probably wouldn't come back. read more

I have to start with dessert bc WOW. The Ube Foam Panna Cotta was PHENOMENAL. If there is anything to get here, this is a must. It was so good, we ordered another one. My friend declared "it was one of the best desserts she has ever had". The ube foam was bursting with flavor (ube infused with thyme and vanilla), balanced out with the milkiness of the panna cotta and the tartness of the torched fruit. Beautifully plated, a variety of textures (loved the little sprinkles of crunchy ube on top), and a perfect marriage of flavors. Yum. I still dream about this dessert. Now back to the beginning. I knew Space Cowboy had a little bit of a rough start and not the best reviews, but it looked like a unique experience and I'm so glad we gave it a try. The outside sign was looking a little rough, but once we walked in, the decor was really cute, with fluffy clouds and twinkling lights above us. We went on a Thursday evening around 7 and were seated right away. Our server was extremely friendly and available, checking on us to get our orders in right away and making sure we had what we needed. We ordered the space balls - this was a very interesting and unique dish to try! If you're a foodie, you'll appreciate the experience. Different textures and flavors. Not sure this is a dish I'd order again, but definitely glad I was able to try it and I would recommend trying it once. I loved my Kepler Island cocktail, I ordered it twice. I was worried it would be too sweet (was told it was similar to a piña colada), but it ended up being very well balanced. The Twilight Zone drink tasted like a New York Sour - was very smooth, couldn't even taste the bourbon, which is dangerous! We also got the sliders, which were good, but nothing special. We also tried the Chocolate Ganache & Gelato - not sure where the "gelato" was. It was alright - the chocolate was good, but not the most cohesive dessert and the nuts were a little too overpowering. Definitely recommend the Ube Foam Panna Cotta over this! I cannot rave about it enough. read more
10/10 recommend. This place is so unique and the concept I was in love with. The decor and ambiance was immaculate. The food comes out in spaceships and they stop at your table. The service was quick and great date spot. The drinks were so so delicious. The food was amazing. The fries were crispy and well balanced. The star of the show....Ube Foam Panna Cotta. I will dream about it for days. It was the most unique and delicious dessert I have ever tried. Can't wait to come back and rave about this place for the rest of my life! read more
We had a reservation for dinner and were seated promptly upon arrival. There's servers take your order and then an automated robot container brings the items to your table. I came here on a Thursday night with two friends (one of whom made the reservation). I'm not a drinks person at all, but will participate without issue in a "girl's night out" even if my price of admission is a boring cocktail. My friend heard about SC through social media, and also heard that it has been getting mixed reviews from the get-go. The ambiance itself was very classy yet laid-back, but the only thing that tied it to "space" was the chubby little motorized space cars that came rolling down like those table train sets! My mocktail was their "fruity" option, which was straight up pineapple juice. My friends seemed satisfied with their drinks enough to order a second round. For food to share, we had the fries, which came encrusted with a black pepper like spice which reminded me of a spice used in Indian food, so I was a fan, haha. I think we all agreed SC was just a one-time thing, but it was an experience and a fun night out! read more

This place has been on our list for a bit. We finally had a night to try it. Made reservations for the same day at 6:30 pm. We were seated promptly, and our waiter came quickly. We ordered a couple of their cocktails and heard about their night special. We got two starters and two entrees. I would pass on the beef tartare next time. It wasn't for me. We got the Space Balls, and I enjoyed the Tuna but not the salmon. The Inked Seafood Risto is my new favorite entree in the city. The aged Beef entree was good but didn't blow me away like the Inked Seafood Risto. The robots are cute and something different. The space is pretty. I assume it is very loud when the place is full. It's always nice to have a parking lot in Austin. read more

We loved our meal at Space Cowboy this weekend! The theming of this restaurant and the robots really make it a unique and fun experience, and we were impressed by the quality of the food as well. 3 dishes for us were an absolute must: -Space Balls -Beef Tartare -Panna Cotta Both cocktails we had, the Lady in the Veil and the Smoke House, were also incredibly delicious and well concocted. Overall we were so impressed at the uniqueness of the flavors on the menu and how they managed to combine different global flavors into a true worldly blend. I also want to call out the exceptional service not just from our robotic staff, but also our waiter! I've seen other reviews comment on the waitstaff being subpar but that was not our experience at all, our waiter Jared was extremely attentive and personable, and he really made our dinner great. Overall I think Space Cowboy is really one of a kind! Great vibes, unique cuisine, and a fun concept. Definitely will come back. read more

Parking: It is a small lot, would recommend to Uber Service was great! Highly recommend making a reservation. Our server Tyler was amazing! His recommendations were spot on and we even left it up to him to choose our last drink of the night and it did not disappoint. He had the bartender make us a drink that won't be on the menu until next week and would highly recommend. It was a spicy margarita. Cocktails are great and food was delicious! The menu rotates every 2-3 weeks. Drinks: Kiss at twilight zone was a perfectly balanced bourbon and red wine cocktail that was not too sweet and would have again. Young Gun was like an amaretto sour and so delicious! Tuxedo cowboy and cowboy del lune were both good for those old fashioned fans. Food: Seafood aguachile tostada was SPICY! If you can't handle that DO NOT get it, if you do like spicy I highly recommend it because it was sooooo good! Braised short rib was good but the inked seafood risotto took the win. The fries were perfectly crispy and the chipotle aioli was perfect dipping sauce to it. read more

This was my first time in Austin and at this resteraunt because we came all the way from Houston to try it... it didn't disappoint in the slightest. The staff was so insanely welcoming and made the experience so fun. Arissa took amazing photos of me and my boyfriend, all the different angles and recommended a cute little spot in the resteraunt. Nothing better than a girl who's excited to take your pictures Adam was our server and he was sooooo amazing, super attentive, giving recommendation for each section of the meal, which all of them were sooo good. He just wanted to make the experience fun and you can tell how much he loves his job by the way he intimates the "space" theme. We had the ribeye and the octopus and the flavoring was insane. It's honestly a resteraunt worth the hype and $. Rester-aunt was real clean and looks even cooler in person! read more
This was such an awesome date night experience for tapas and small plates. I recommend not coming super hungry for this restaurant and instead expect to have bites and drinks while you enjoy the ambiance. Otherwise, the bill would add up because tapas range between $12-$27 each. The service and staff were very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the menu. Foods: Space Balls ($12): 2 puris with one filled with salmon tartare, goats cheese, tangerine, dill and capers and another puri filled with tuna tartare, with a lemongrass, cillantro and serrano ponzu. Torched Crispy Rice Trio ($12): 1) Salmon tataki with coffee infuse gravelax, avocado & morita sauce. 2) Seared Tuna with citrus crust and serrano chilly aioli. 3) Seared beef fillet with brown butter Bemaise sauce. Cowboy Ribeye Sliders Duo ($17): Sliders have masala butter aioli, crispy shallots, & goat cheese mushroom Ube Foam Panna Cotta ($10): vanilla & thyme infused with be foam & torched seasonal fruit read more

Space Cowboy is a tapas-style restaurant unlike anything I have ever visited before. Although they are still working out a few kinks with the AI-controlled robots, I had an excellent time and was surprised by how tasty Space Cowboy's menu items are. We placed our orders with a server and the menu items arrived course by course via robot (think Sushi Robot meets Thomas the Train). We ordered the delightfully floral Venus Seduction cocktail, the aptly named space balls, beef tartare, fries, burrata, and the land and sea skewers. The portions were as expected for a tapas style restaurant, but the flavors exceeded our expectations. Our favorites were the delightfully crispy space balls, the creative farm house fries topped with chili and tortilla ash, and the beef tartare with truffle aioli and crispy tarp and parsnip chips. The atmosphere of this restaurant is fun and it is also visually stunning. A couple of servers visited our table throughout the night due to an issue with the robots, and they were all very kind and helpful. Overall, if you're looking for a new experience matched with creative flavors, Space Cowboy is the spot. I would recommend that everyone try this experience at least once. read more

I've been wanting to come check out this place for a while now. Great date night place love the ambiance and vibe as soon as we walked in the door they greeted us with kindness and ready to serve! We made a reservation for 6:45 pm we didn't get seated right away but they gave us some champagne while we waited and we were happy with that. Then we got seated shortly after "Trevor" our server was so knowledgeable and amazing we had just come for small bites and drinks and of course to see what the hype "robot" that serves you was all about! We loved "Bob" he brought us our delightful drinks and our food Must try space balls 10/10, fries were delicious as well. We will be back to try more from the menu. read more
