The entire staff is friendly, attentive, and polished. Everything runs smoothly and feels thoughtfully executed. I've been to plenty of places where the experience feels disorganized, lacks communication, comes across as a little immature, or where the service feels rushed. This is the complete opposite. I had high hopes for this spa but I was not impressed with the massage I got. The package I got was for an exfoliation followed by a massage. My masseuse wasn't exactly sure what he was supposed to do for the exfoliation part which seemed somewhat unprofessional. And the massage was not great. He used very low pressure so it didn't really help soothe any tension I had and it was almost the same as not having a massage at all. Also for most of the massage, he wasn't really moving his hands, just stayed in one area and lightly pressed without moving and then moved to the next area. I left feeling like I didn't really get a massage. Maybe some of the other masseuses are much better but I didn't really have a great experience here. I highly recommend this spa. We were staying at Atlantis and was hoping to use the spa there, but they were booked. Thankfully, I found West Spa. The prices are better first of all, and I can only assume that's because it's not in the casinos because this spa is VERY nice. We went for my fiances 35th birthday for the couples massage. I added on the private changing/relaxation room(absolute must) champagne, and a fruit platter. We both chose the sierra aromatherapy massage, and added the CBD oil and scalp massage. Anna was my massage therapist, and she was absolutely lovely. I am on blood thinners and need my massage to be very gentle, and she did everything spot on. It was very relaxing and I could tell she has excellent experience. My fiance had a gentleman (didn't catch his name), but he had a fantastic experience with him as well. Overall this spa is a hidden gem, and I am so happy we found it. They also have a great shopping selection with tons of Moroccan Oil products (my favorite). Skip the casinos and come here for sure. read more

It was surprisingly beautiful and upscale. I got the couple massage with the aromatherapy and cheese plate. The only downside was my massage therapist seemed inexperienced. My boyfriend had the lights off and his massage therapist asked what he wanted and I didn't get that. She told me what I was getting and I asked the lights off or dimmed and she barely put them down. She also felt unsure on what or how to massage she was so light even after multiple attempts at me asking her to put more pressure. She was very nice but my massage experience was lack luster but the ambiance was wonderful and my only complaint is that the shoes they provide we so uncomfortable and if you're a size 8 I would ask for a 10. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Terrible. Went to see Jen to turn my dirty blonde hair platinum blonde. I showed Jen pictures of exactly what I wanted and told her I wanted to keep my roots natural. She didn't listen to ANYTHING that I wanted, put product all the way to my scalp, rushed the entire process, never told me what she was doing, made me get up and move to another part of the salon while she gossiped and cut another man's hair, and my hair came out GREY. Not platinum. I realize this could have been an excessive misuse of toner, but when they grey washed out, my hair was the exact same, you could clearly see the root growth line that should've disappeared with the platinum job. I went home and cried. Overpriced and underdelivered. Save your money for a place that actually cares, is respectful, and gives you what you want. read more

Disorganized. Dishonest. Don't value their employees so the turnover is ridiculous. They just doubled their prices similar to what Dolce Vita & The Refuge charge without notifying all of their members. Those two spas FAR exceed this one in terms of amenities, services, professionalism and location. The Midtown area where this is located is filled with crime. Car break-ins are constant and the spa entrance glass door was shattered with a giant piece of cement in the middle of the day while employees and clients were in the facility. read more

Customer service is the worst. My wife and I arrived in town on Friday night and scheduled a couples massage for Saturday at 1:00pm. The next morning my wife woke up with a terrible sinus infection. We called to cancel and were told that their policy was to keep 1/2 of the cost when canceled within 24 hours. I told them I understand someone canceling just to cancel but that surly they could understand and make an exception when someone ends up sick unexpectedly. I was told that they couldn't do anything because it was in the computer and the system didn't understand exceptions to the rule. Disappointed to say the least. I thought I would be leaving a good review when they took care of me but unfortunately I have to leave this one. read more

I went on Saturday the 17th to get a facial with Courtney when she was applying the peel my face was hurting which I told her she kept rubbing my face with her hands. While I was driving home I saw blotches all over my face. By Sunday my face felt like a sand paper and it started peeling. Then I saw a black burn spot on my cheek. Im highly impressed. This place is beautiful. Not your usual massage parlor. Girl at the front desk i wish I can remember her name i think it's Cristy or something like that. She was amazing so welcoming so informative and so patient with us. We booked this totally last minute and we were not disappointed!!! We used the gyms pool and spa which was totally fine while we waited for our friends to get their massage done and then we would swap they would go out to the pool and spa while we get pampered. We (couples massage) haven't went into get out massage but i just wanted to give you an insight of the beginning experience. We would highly recommend this spa to anyone willing to spend 90-110. CAUTION-Be careful if you decide to enter the monthly membership program. I joined their membership program back in 2020. Last year I was having some financial issues. I tried to get out of the membership, but the manager, Amber, said she could freeze my account for two months. I recently realized that she declined my account for that month and then doubled charged me the following month. I called her and Amber stated she would make the situation right. However, she needed to talk to the owner,DeeDee, First. After not hearing from back from Amber for a week, I called Amber back and she told me that according Dee Dee " there was nothing they could do". I told her that if the owner holds people solely to the contract, then the staff should not try to provide customer service claims that they can't actually make happen. Make sure if make an agreement with this place that you get everything in writing and that you know the contract in and out. The contract is the only thing that matters to the owner. It doesn't matter what the employees say or the promises they make. A similar situation happened at to me at Sports West as well. read more

This review is for the Leanna. She cuts my hair. Great service, great haircuts. She even did my wife's hair for a special event and really had a blast with it. Every time I come in the front desk people are nice and helpful. Parking sucks really bad in this mall but you gotta go where the good haircuts are. As for the rest of the services that Spa West provides I can't help you at all. I just get my haircuts here. And to be honest, if Leanna moved I would go where she goes. read more

This place is great, what sets them apart from the big casino resort spas is the fact that they are small and intimate. I love peppermill spa because of the huge facilities, but Spa of the west is a great hidden gem that makes a nice massage or facial more relaxing because you aren't in the midst of a hectic place full of people trying to use the same things as you. They have a small infrared sauna meant for one person and yes I do appreciate it because you get that zen to yourself. They have showers and you can use the daycare, pool, or gym at Sports West with the service. The salon is great they use awesome products there, it's not so much of a walk in spa or salon but making an appointment is not a struggle at all. This place is great for getting some nice alone time in. read more

I bought my boyfriend a massage from Spa West last week and I had such a good experience that I wanted to review it. I called a couple of spas before talking to Spa of the West and I was a little frustrated with not being able to find a "late" massage time. (I was hoping for something around 6 or 7pm.) When I called Spa of the West I had such an easy time scheduling and the woman who helped me (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!) was extremely helpful and sweet. I like to think I have high standards for receptionists (any "tone" and I'm OUT) and was impressed by their scheduling staff. I was able to pay over the phone so when my boyfriend went in he wouldn't have to worry about anything. I purchased a 80 minute athletic massage for him. My boyfriend loved the massage and said he had a great experience- he was able to take a shower beforehand and enjoyed his masseuse. I have not visited the salon myself yet (I'm planning to go after the Reno Tahoe Odyssey, haha) but had such a great time scheduling that I know he and I will return. *Review for pedicure only Saw a 2 for 1 (February) special on their website, so decided to go in with a friend. I am not sure what their regular pedi prices are, but iin the typical mall experience. The ambiance and service was far beyond anything we expected. The receptionist was extremely nice and showed us around. Then, to start our experience, we entered the locker area, which has lockers, nice bathrooms, an infrared sauna, nice robes and a waiting area with waters and crackers to relax in until your therapist comes to get you. They have the exact same thing for men in a separate locker room. After waiting just a couple mins the ladies came to get us for our pedis. The pedi room was simply beautiful. It was in a very small (two person) but elegantly decorated room. Not sure if they had other pedicure rooms. The "chairs" were actually benches set up very high with comfy pillows. You put your foot to soak in a deep sink. The pedicure is one of my favorites to date, and I've gotten quite a few in the Reno area, including some very trendy/popular and expensive ones ($65 for one person!). The attention to detail was great and the massage was long, which is one of the things that makes or breaks an experience for me. There is nothing worse that paying a lot of money and the massage is 3-5 mins long with no creativity. Afterward we got to hang out in the locker areas as long as we wanted. I used the infrared sauna. It was very tiny but nice. Cannot remember if it has a shower. I have not experienced any other treatments here but probably will be doing so in the future because my first here was so awesome. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the infrared sauna was not on - have to heat it yourself. I'm very surprised this spa doesn't have more ratings. I'll be back to try other services, especially since they seem to have really great monthly specials! I'd much rather spend the money for an expensive pedicure here than anywhere else so far. read more

So the spa was having a buy a massage get a facial half off. I got it as a gift was told it never expired. When I went to use it they wouldn't honor the 60 minute facial at half price. They only let me apply the facial price towards a 60 minute or get a 30 minute facial. Horrible managerial decision making. I was planning on buying a membership before I even went, but that just left me with a salty taste in my mouth. As someone who manages in the service industry I couldn't believe they wouldn't honor the gift card that said 60 minute facial for $37.50. I didn't ask for the special, they were offering the special. Seems like a way to get people's money. I was told "we offered that special when there was a new aesthetician" well then you shouldn't tell people it's good forever! You should have written an expiration date! Needless to say the ladies that work there were great. Amanda was so kind over the phone. Laura was the best masseuse and Courtney gave a great facial. No manager was on site. If you want a relaxing massage or facial, I'd recommend coming here (if you don't have a special, that'll not end up being a special.) It's unfortunate that so many talented,kind young ladies work at a place where the management is crappy. Wish I could give it 5 stars for the service but wanted to give 1 star because of management. My fiancé booked a couples massage and the private suite for Valentine's Day. He originally wanted to book at the Atlantis but they didn't have any openings. I'm glad he booked here, we had a nice experience without a huge price tag. The decor and space was open, fresh, and inviting. We were guided to the suite and given the run down on what to do, where to go, and how much time we had. We were told that signs would be on the door so people would know it was occupied so we could feel comfortable changing as the locker area is close to the entrance. Shortly after changing, someone opened the door, saw we were in there, then quickly apologized and left. Luckily we had just gotten into our robes when she came in, but it was a bit hard to relax after that. The cheese plate (crackers, Brie, some slices of cheddar and pepper jack, and grapes), cookies, cupcakes, and champagne were a nice touch and it was a good amount of food to have between lunch and dinner. There was also a bottle of Pellegrino, my favorite :) Our massage therapists came to get us and they were very kind. I liked that they asked us what kind of pressure we wanted and what areas they should focus on. They led us into the couples massage room and quickly began our 50 minute massage. My fiancé's masseuse was quite the heavy breather...it was distracting at first. There wasn't any relaxing music playing, so no way to drown out that sound. Despite the loud breathing, we both fell asleep. The pressure and areas of focus were just what we wanted. My fiancé's masseuse put some muscle in it, perfect for him. Mine was in between and just right. We had about 30-40 minutes afterward to enjoy the suite, which was great. We were able to shower and get the greasy lotion off and finish our champagne. We would go again, but make sure the door was locked before changing :) read more

My wife and I went here once. Horrible experience. We were both lead to our rooms 10 minutes late for our 50 minute massages. There was no explanation as to why this was. That by itself wasn't a huge problem, but I noticed when my massage was up, we hadn't gone 10 minutes over to make up the time. I'm guessing the had other appointments and they didn't want their masseuse going over on their time. Also, when they went to take my wife to her room, the first room they opened their was a masseuse inside eating her lunch. How disgusting is that? Anyways, it was kind of a let down. We won't be going back when there are so many better options around Reno. read more

3.5 stars. I went to a Reiki Drumming event held there every monday at 5:30pm. The drumming was a half hour and made me feel very relaxed and peacefull. Ill be going again for sure. The atmosphere of the spa was nice; stone flooring, unique wooden art, a small but adiquate retail area, and friendly receptionist. FYI... Started feeling a low grade fever the night before my scheduled massage... in the midst of COVID-19 scare all over the country and the world. Was conscientious about spreading germs and did what I felt was right for the staff, me, and the community, by calling in to cancel my appointment the first chance I had when the Spa opened the next day. They charged $47 for the late cancellation. This was going to be my first experience with Spa West. I agree with the cancellation policy during normal times of operations, although in times of national and world "pandemic," their decision felt incredibly inflexible and very uncaring for customers. I went in a few days later after feeling better to voice my concerns, with no response from the owner; clearly they do not care about their customers. Also saw that they offered dessert samples at the front desk - again, fine during normal times, but very inconsiderate of the current crisis (for comparison, Costco stopped offering food samples earlier this week to minimize spread of germs). I want to support local businesses especially when services industry is suffering, but I will not be coming back to this one. Do not come here if you want to feel welcomed or cared for. read more

I received a coupon in the mail and it was too good of a deal to pass up, so I decided to treat myself to a full spa day. From the minute I walked in I was welcomed by the receptionist and I appreciated the quick check in process. The locker room and waiting area were very clean and had everything you would need- robes, hair dryers, showers, even an infrared sauna. Sheri did my massage and was great, I liked her technique for massaging arms and shoulders. She even did a little bit of stretching in between massaging. Next was my facial and I had Courtney. I loved it! Courtney was educational on all skin care and she recommended other treatments that would be beneficial for my skin type. For here the answer is yes yes yes. I was having a very stressful week a lot of emotional growing. I came in stressed and crying. I went out feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. My feet were so rough when I entered and smooth as a baby's butt when I left. I would definitely return. I purchased 2 pedicures in a special on DealChicken for Spa West and went with a friend. Being new to the Reno area, I was looking forward to checking out a local spa. First the good - the pedicure rooms are small, 2-person only, which is very nice. The pedicures were exceptional! The pedicure techs were wonderful! And the chocolate martinis, which came with the special, were yummy! Now the so-so - the pedicure rooms have benches, and no massage chairs. I was surprised how comfortable I was on the benches with pillows, but I did miss the comfy chairs. Now the bad - the receptionist may be new, but if so, she needs better training. We 20 minutes early for a little sauna time, as we read about on yelp. When we arrived, the receptionist took us immediately to the pedicure room, then, upon realizing that someone else was still using the room, she left us in the hallway while she tried to figure out what to do with us. She ended up taking us back to the front lobby area. When I asked about using the sauna, she said that she could not take us into that area because the spa was too busy and she seemed to think it odd that we were asking. About 5 minutes later, she came and took us to the dressing room area and showed us the sauna... a very small 1 person sauna that was turned off. She said it would take 10 minutes to warm up. When I mentioned that we only had 15 minutes until the pedicure, she said that was fine because the sauna had time to warm up so we could use it. She did not offer us any robes for using the sauna, or a locker. Since we were so close to pedicure time, and the sauna was SO small, we chose not to try to use it. We were left in the waiting area in the dressing room which is as I would expect at a small spa. 2 chairs, soft music, tea, water, snacks, etc. 25 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, 1 of our nail techs came to get us. He was very apologetic and very nice, but I wonder why noone came in before that to keep us informed re: the delay. It should be noted that our appointment had already been moved out by 15 minutes earlier that morning via phone when the spa called us. We had no problem with the pre-arranged delay, but the extra 25 minute delay from the scheduled appointment time was frustrating. Again, the pedicures were awesome!!! And the nail techs were wonderful! But, the reception staff left alot to be desired. With all of the spa choices in Reno, I don`t think I will be returning. read more

I bought a Deal Chicken for a spa pedi and wasn't prepared for how nice the place is. Quiet and clean with awesome atmosphere, I was totally relaxed. The front staff was friendly and courteous, and I was checked and led to the waiting area for the tech to come and get me. I was assigned to Heather who was very friendly and we hit it off. I found out that she had only been doing pedi's for about 3 months, but let me tell you she must have been very well trained. Instead of just having at it and doing what she wanted, she asked me what I wanted. How refreshing! I can tell you I will pay full price (even though I bought 2 more of the DC's) in the future. I was impressed with the whole experience and will be checking out the other services. Update 08/20/2012 Used up the Deal Chickens and paid full price. Heather did an excellent job and is my new go to girl for the mani/pedi thing. Again, the facility is very nice. Cold and hot drinks are provided as well as snack food. It is so quiet and relaxing in there, a perfect spa experience. Prices are totally in line for the area, but you get so much more for your dollar and I would not hesistate to recommend Heather and all of the Spa West staff to anyone wanting a top notch experience. read more

Diana has been my life saver when it comes to my hair. I have been adding red highlights for years but most only last a couple weeks if I'm lucky. The line Diana uses lasts at least a couple months and when it does fade it fades to blend in with your hair. She takes the time to learn what you're looking for in your haircut then makes sure you're happy with the end product. read more

Booked a couple's massage here on Valentine's Day. Over the phone, the staff was really great. They gave me all types of tips for booking, including letting me know to call back when they posted their new deals online so I would get the best offer. The package they offered for Valentine's Day included two massages and a private suite with champagne and snacks. I would recommend arriving early to enjoy these amenities, as we didn't, and we didn't get much time to prepare for our massage. I was a little turned off when I was told we absolutely had to be out shortly after our massage leaving even less time for us to enjoy the facilities that were included. Even more so after we were on our way out and our therapists had no idea we were told we needed to be out, and encouraged we stay longer. BUT, it was a nice, relaxing and private area for us to keep our things in and wind down. Plus, the complimentary champagne, cheese and crackers, and cookies, were a nice little spoil for the day. There's also a sauna in there, but no way for two people to sit in. Our therapists were great (though mine talked a little more than I'd like). The room seemed a little small for a couple's massage, and I could hear a lot of banging doors and movement from outside, but we both still enjoyed ourselves. What appealed to me most about this place was that so much was included for a much less expensive price than many of the spas in town, especially the casino ones. Despite disappointment with being rushed for time, we still very much enjoyed our morning together and the facilities at bay. I would plan to book here again. read more

I love this place! The front desk girls are always nice and cheery and the place is always very very clean. The decor and music is beautiful and relaxing. They have two locker room areas with full showers and infrared saunas and lockers. They provide you with super soft cushy robes and ultra soft flip flops. The two locker/changing rooms are each connected to a lounge area where they have relaxing, tranquil music and visuals on the tv. Their massage rooms and pedicure areas have the same vibe as the lounge areas, very relaxing. Their prices are on the high end but if you go for their monthly specials, it drops their prices to the average range. I like this place because it's especially convenient because I'm a member of Sports West so I can alternate workout and spa days :-) read more
