My friend and I had an amazing time, the pampering was just bliss, the facilities were amazing, the hot tub was so perfect, the drinks were delicious.... Overall the best spa experience I could have imagined.

My granddaughter had surprised me with a manicure for my birthday and I had only been to to those quick nail salons so I was excited to try this place out. I noticed how clean and organized it was. All the staff was exceptionally friendly. I had a lovely, relaxing time so when I needed a pedicure I decided to go here again. The best pedicure I ever had. Once again very clean, friendly service. The woman who did my pedi was very careful and actually took her time massaging my feet too. I never felt so relaxed having a pedicure I can't wait to come again

    After! Lovely!

Pro's: Great selection of services, convenient Con's: No hot tub, except for outside with other folks using the pool. Go back?: Yes! More... What a lovely day I had at the spa! I came in pretzel-twisted and achy and Brad set me straight, literally! I look forward to being a regular with him. I enjoyed the blood orange mimosa - not as sweet as regular o.j. I had time to relax before getting a pedicure. Look at the cute jewels they use to separate toes...too cute! Mandy did an excellent job. It was my birthday and they all were really nice to me and accommodating. I had a session with the wave bed....very trippy - liked it! The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the lack of a spa-only hot tub. Fun gift shop, too!

The moment I noticed the lovely eucalyptus fragrance as I walked out of the elevator towards the spa, I felt my body slowly start to relax and mind chatter drift away. It did take a few moments to quiet my mind but what a place to ease me into that. The Refuge name is perfect. Slowing my breath was an old memory but this place reminded me of the peace and tranquility I can transform my state of mind by doing this simple and gentle self care. Self awareness. Self love. The dark long haired gal who greeted me and gave me the tour was lovely. I would have enjoyed something from the bar but because it was Mothers Day, they set up a nice tea party including two teas, finger sandwiches and sweets, including macaroons. After I settled into my robe, which was a nice weight, and put my things into my locker, I decided to first jump into the shower and freshen up with their lovely smelling soaps and shampoos. Then I sampled the tea and sandwiches before sitting in the Refuge quiet waiting area where they had guest books scattered throughout filled with stories and messages from previous spa guests. (This was actually my favorite part of the experience). I enjoyed reading the stories of others here at the spa... I am touched with the sharing... The stories are inspiring and some with wisdom I am profoundly grateful to have experienced. To see handwritten notes from strangers is breathtaking and fills me with hope that humanity is still abundant in this world and peace is possible. Stories of young moms, aged adults with wisdom and women who struggle in their relationships and come here to reset to be able to face the world... even men sharing amazing simple gratitudes. Couples in love still and ladies who love themselves. It soothes my soul to read these stories.. thank you refuge. My treatment of choice was the canna-bliss massage with an added hydrating scalp treatment. They also included a foot scrub and lotion foot treatment. I wasn't sure what to expect with the cannabliss but next time I will opt for just a massage. I enjoyed the scalp treatment. Because it was the weekend plus Mother's Day, it was a bit busy. Bonus for me was finally checking out the Renaissance hotel.

The salon and experience was honestly so beautiful. The lounges and scents were so thoughtfully curated and elevated the whole experience. Sadly, I'm just disappointed in the results of a $200+ facial. I really thought my skin would be GLOWING but instead, I walked out with a cut to my face and now a scar and peeling skin. I let the receptionist know that I was unsure of which facial would be best for my skin type. Upon arrival, I felt rushed and the esthetician simply said that the Forever Young treatment, "is good for ALL skin types". There was no follow-up on skin goals. I've had a facial before and that esthetician made sure every product was selected and tailored to my skin. It's been a week since I let them know about my cut in the internal review but no one has reached out to remedy the situation. Just confirms my suspicion that they don't really care about clients. Not a terrible experience, but definitely expected more from this place. Just feels like a waste to what I thought would be a treat, an investment to my skin goals. Now I have a scar.

Spa Day with my daughter for Mother's Day. My daughter had a massage while I opted for a facial. I loved everything about the experience! On top of a wonderful facial the esthetician massaged my scalp and upper body-heaven! They have a sauna, bar, tea room and various relaxation rooms. The pool/hot tub just opened this week and we relaxed poolside all afternoon with perfect weather in the 70's. All the staff was so friendly and professional-will definitely be back!

I got a Groupon for my husband to try the floating pod. While I was waiting for him to come out the receptionist greeted me. Offered me water. I got an opportunity to tour the facility. They were very nice and answered my questions. I was able to do a body polish massage for myself the same day. There is a really nice waiting room where they come get you. They gave me a whole experience and I really needed it. My aesthetician was very nice great conversation. Overall I really enjoyed myself. One of the workers had a miscommunication and told my husband to go to the lobby instead of waiting for me to come back to the spa. I understand things happen and after that I needed the massage even more. So I guess it all worked out. I will recommend this place. And I will be back to try the floating pod for myself in the near future.

Staff is wonderful. Small setting but the bar and jacuzzi are a nice touch. Massage was great.

Beautiful spa located inside a non gaming hotel in downtown Reno. I enjoyed the outdoor pool on the 4th floor for a swim and relaxation before my massage. I loved the co-ed infrared sauna to relax my muscles. Very nice relaxation lounge before the massage. Lemon water containers for refreshments. My massage included a glass of wine and chocolates. I loved sitting at The Rise Bar inside the spa in my cozy spa robe. This spa is not large and has less amenities then the larger casino spas but still very enjoyable.

I felt like I took a mini vacation after leaving the Refuge Spa. I purchased a deal that included a Quad Spa pedicure, beverage and access to the pool. The spa itself was very modern, clean and sleek looking. I came to learn from my nail technician that the same owner of Dolce Vita owns the Refuge and it is locally owned and separate from the Renaisssance. The pool was perfect, in that it was not too big, and not overly crowded during the time that I went. There are service menu cards that you can take with you, and can order food and drinks (spa, pool, or during service). The staff at the spa were very nice, and attentive. The pool was the perfect temperature for the 100 degree weather, and there were lounge chairs everywhere! There was actually a bride and groom that took professional photos there. The sangria was pretty good, not super sweet. Upon getting the pedicure, I ordered a pineapple mimosa, and that drink alone would have me coming back often! The best part of my experience goes to Sarah! She was phenomenal, I felt like I was visiting an old friend even though this was our first time meeting. This was actually a Mother's day gift and my mom loved her equally so. Our toes came out great, and received the ultimate pampering. She provided great information on care of gel toes and removal, and also information on coming back to use the pool ($25 spa pass) and locals get 10 % off- M-Thursday. I definitely want to come back already! and now that I know they have food on the menu that makes for the perfect pool day plus Spa service. Thank you Refuge for a much needed time away from homework and treat for a day of self-care!

It was such a nice treat to be here since I hadn't been here to Spa Toscana since before Covid with a group of my friends from work. We checked in and I was called back by Karla almost immediately for my 50 minute signature massage. Karla was very friendly, kept my robe warm while she worked her magic on my knots. I felt like melted butter when I retired to the tranquility room. I was surprised to see how busy it was for a Monday afternoon, but happy to see they steadily busy. We took advantage of the steam room, snacks, tea and a few amenities before calling it a day and returning to our families. Thank you Karla and to my bestie for such a sweet birthday gift. We'll see you again in August to celebrate my bestie's birthday. Tip: They offer a local discount if you go during the week. I don't believe they offer it on Fridays, but do call ahead to confirm.

I scheduled a deep tissue massage (last minute, I'm sorry to the spa), but my therapist was Jackie. I'm not kidding when I tell you it was the best massage of my life. It is my birthday month, hence we've been here many times this February, and I am revisiting Jackie. I literally told her I loved her after my massage. Lol Moving forward, I called a few days ago to schedule (not trying to last minute this one) and I asked for Jackie and my same treatment. The spa was so accommodating and Jackie was available. #happy We used to always stay at Atlantis, and I would spa there while the hubby skis, but when we started this Peppermill spa and casino, YES! I'm so in love with the experiences I have here. That's why we are back next week ;) Thank you Spa Toscana, Peppermill and Jackie most of all! I will be back again, for sure.

We had massages and spent the day utilizing the amenities. The locker rooms are clean and always stocked with towels. The locker room attendant was constantly in there restocking, cleaning, etc. Plenty of digital lock lockers, bathroom area, showers, steam room, sauna, private changing area (if needed), they offer body scrubs that you can take into the showers, vanity areas, lounge area with flavored water, coffee, tea, bottle waters, and snacks. This lounge area is also where the massage staff come to pick you up for your appt. Once you leave the locker rooms they have so many coed areas for you to access. Himalayan salt room that is pretty big. Cushioned loungers and heated bench areas with lighting that changes. Very quiet and relaxing. The Laconian relaxation room is a bit smaller. This is a gentle dry heat room set to 104 typically used to reduce stress, detoxify and purify. Seated bench areas inside are heated and there are some small ottomans to put your feet up. There's a beautifully well lit area due to all the windows that has two hot tubs, shower area, and cold plunge. Seating in this area is a bit limited when crowded. Decent number of loungers and some chairs, but it can get busy. Additionally you can access the fitness center and pool areas. The pool areas are nice and you can order food from the menu to be brought out. Please note it's not a private pool for just the spa. The pool areas (inside and outside) are accessible to hotel guests so you could have kids being kids. The massage room was clean and relaxing. The massage staff we had were very professional and excellent. We loved our couples massage. I added on dry brushing and a coconut oil scalp treatment...unbelievable. My massage staff, Marlina, is excellent. The lobby/check-in area is nice and clean with plenty of products to purchase. Check-in and check-out were very easy. We left feeling very relaxed and excited to come back again in the future.

We both got 60min Swedish massages and a scalp massage add on. The massages were great, no complaints there! We like to go early to enjoy the amenities and we enjoyed the hot tub area which was only for 21+ but the rest of the pool/hot tub areas were extremely loud with children. It was not at all a relaxing atmosphere with the screaming kids and getting splashed by them doing cannonballs into the pool. The locker area, salt and relaxing room were not as nice as Spa Toscana either. They also do not accept Spa Finder gift cards which is what we usually use for our spa trips as well. Not a bad experience and a good second option but we prefer the Peppermill!

You can't beat their locals (and CA residents) get 35% off in Dec-March Sunday through Thursday. For a 25 minute "grand sampler" massage and entrance to their day spa all day I only paid 60$ plus tip and tax. Their day spa is so nice! It's modern and decorated in a tranquil teal color (my fave). It's a 9 hour escape from my kids and normal life and it's never too busy here. They have a co Ed relaxation room, HUGE co Ed spa that's the size of a small swimming pool, separate ladies spa, ladies lounge , ladies eucalyptus steam room and ladies dry sauna. What more could you want?! Feedback for improving- they used to have overhead rain showers now they have wall shower heads. Bring those back! They used to have a mist you can spray while you shower to fill the shower with eucalyptus and lavender. It used to be chained to the shower wall. They don't have those anymore. Bring those back! They used to give you one complimentary mimosa when you arrived. No more. Bring those back! Also, my shower suddenly went extremely cold when someone flushed the toilet. That needs to be worked on for sure. My robe was supposed to be a white or ivory on the inside. I know from experience. But the one I got must have been washed on hot and the dark color bled and made the inside look just grungy. That's an easy fix for them. Even with the above I'll keep coming back and rating it 5 stars for atmosphere and local appreciation.
