Yesterday was my first time visiting Massage Sway and I really loved the service and also ambiance of the place. They just pamper you and make you feel relaxed the whole time. I have been a "Sway Member" for over a year now, so this review is long overdue. Their location is at the edge of The Domain in a great part of Austin. When you walk in, you notice how luxurious and peaceful it is. The ladies check you in and you are shown to the next room to wait on your therapist - Donna is my favorite! She has strong hands and great technique, one of the best full body massages I have ever had. Your therapist will come get you and take you back to your room. No spa robe or "quiet room," but that is perfectly fine with me. I am here to relax and relax you will. The owners (ReiLeigh and Gabi) are incredible women and run a fantastic spa. I was in need for a back massage and I went on groupon for a deal. I saw one deal, purchased it and called Massage Sway. Unfortunately, I didn't read the terms correctly and was told the groupon deal was for first timers. So when I called I believe her name was Ashley? She explained that groupon deal and that I was able to return through groupon. She said, she would ask her manager for a one time exception on a discounted member massage. Which they were able to honor it - I was so happy and I appreciate of that. Just the fact that she went above and beyond. As you see, the last time I came I did not have a good experience with the receptionist, but this time I was greeted by Addie. She was extremely sweet and very on point. She offered me a glass of wine and snacks - which is ALWAYS nice touch! (I want to know where you got the snacks in the middle jar - SOOOOO GOOOD!!!) Phoebe, the therapist listen to what I focus areas was needed. At the end of it I felt so relieved and the knots are not longer there - THANK YOU PHOEBE! My husband and I had a couples massage and enjoyed ourselves. I did feel a bit limited because I had a prenatal massage and there were things that Massage Sway would not do that other spas have still offered to me (like hot stones or hot towels). And annoyingly, I can't get longer than a 50 minute massage! These are totally safe but per their policy they wouldn't do them so I got shortchanged a little. I did get a scalp treatment as an alternative but still not the same. The check in form had some pretty invasive questions regarding my pregnancy that I chose not to answer; I just told my therapist what she needed to know that would pertain to the massage. My therapist was great and although she missed a couple of the key areas I asked her to concentrate on; it was a great massage. Overall the experience was nice and relaxing. read more

We came with a small group of 6 girls for a birthday spa day. They receptionist was super pleasant and helpful. Answered questions and helped one of our friends who's nursing find a room to pump in. Everyone had an awesome experience with both massages and facials. They have a nice zen room with tea, wine, and nibbles. Only downside is that they don't have showers for after massage, but wasn't really an issue. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back. read more

Me and my girlfriend went to massage sway today to have a massage and facial combo. The spa itself is absolutely stunning... The Decor is classy and feminine. My massage therapist was very professional and was in tune with what I requested. She took direction very well. My facial was relaxing, and addressed all of my skin care needs. I have extremely sensitive skin, and my aesthetician took note of that, and really took care of me! I was incredibly grateful to her. The owners are amazing people and were there to greet us. I, my daughter and friend all scheduled massages on a Saturday. We called Friday afternoon and had no problem scheduling all three massages at the same time. The process was efficient and the receptionist helpful and polite. All three of us had outstanding massages. I had a facial with Paloma. Let me say this without mincing words. Paloma administered the absolute best facial I have ever received and I have had hundreds including Massage Envy and Lake Austin Spa. I almost wished I had done the facial only and skipped the massage because she massaged my neck and shoulders and arms/hands. I included the oxygen treatment and my skin looks improved. read more

I had a Groupon and received a great facial. Ashley was very sweet and did a great job. The only complaint I have is that they don't accept Groupons on weekends and that's the only time I can go. They didn't specify this on the Groupon so I didn't know and made a Saturday appointment. I ended up having to pay the regular price and get a refund from Groupon so my facial ended up costing me $30 more than I had expected. read more

This spa was different than most I've been to. It's beautiful and had good Yelp reviews. Here's my experience: Upon arrival I had to complete 3 intake forms because I was getting a massage and Hydrafacial. Normally I just have to do 1 or 2. Rather than sit in the beautiful chair in the reception area to fill out my forms, the front desk attendant walked me to the "relaxation"/waiting room and told me I could fill out my forms there. Kind of weird because there was no privacy for those waiting for their treatments in their robes. There were people on their cell phones talking, surfing the web, etc in this room. So much for a phone-free, safe, tranquil, peaceful space. After completing my forms I walked them out to the reception desk to turn them in and was told to keep them and my service provider would come and get me and that's when I'd hand them my forms. I asked if there was a locker room, sauna...you know, what most spas have to use while you wait. Nope! Nothing. So, I was sent back to wait. Quickly I was greeted by my service provider and escorted to my treatment room. This is when I was told there was a plastic box on the floor for me to put my clothes and belongings in. Weird....but okay. My massage was okay but I get massages regularly and I know what I like. When my massage was complete I was escorted in my robe back into the waiting room (relaxation isn't really a good description) and I was followed by my service provider who carried my plastic box of items and set it on the floor next to me to wait for my next treatment...so weird. A locker room or dedicated changing space (not the bathroom) is almost mandatory for a spa IMO. Soon my next service provider came to get me and my box to get my facial. I wasn't given a lot of info about the facial, what the benefits are, what to expect, anything. Normally previous esthetician's walk me through what's happening but there was no info. I walked out of it with a scab on my cheek that occurred when she tried extracting a bump that wasn't a clogged pore. Pretty disappointing. With a few minimal changes this spa could be up to par. I need to update my review because customer service matters...and Massage Sway does it right! I've been member for almost a year but my situation was unique because I split my time between SF and Austin. This past few months my job changed, I got very sick and had to spend all my savings on some emergency repairs which meant my travels to Austin are less frequent and my budget is tight. So I needed to cancel my account. Even though they are clear with their policies, they worked with me to make sure I could cancel and use my remaining questions in a fair time frame. Listening to your customers and working with them is the key to a successful business. I plan to continue referring other people here and hope to reinstate my membership when I'm back to Austin fill time. Thank you for being a great small business and helping me in a tough situation! From beginning to end, my visit was very pleasant and relaxing. The facility is very clean and inviting, and the ambience was very calming. The receptionist was very helpful both on the phone and in person. While waiting for your appointment, they offer you a fruit infused water, tea, or wine. I suggest the wine to maximize relaxation. My massage therapist, Brittany, was also great. I went with the sports massage since I work out a lot. I also added a foot scrub since I wear dress shoes at work, which gets uncomfortable. The massage and foot scrub were amazing and relaxing. The value overall was also great and reasonable, I got a lot of bang for my buck. I love massage sway! Lisa is hands down the best aesthetician I've ever been to! She's so great with my skin and I love chatting with her during the treatment!
