I just had one of the best massages ever at this place. My friend and I both started with the Ganban Yoku (hot stone tables) and then had a 50 minute massage. We both agree... It was all awesome. The staff is extremely nice and the facility is calm and clean. My skin feels amazing from the Ganban Yoku. And to top it all off they give you the most delicious fresh brewed lemon tea when you're done. read more

This is a horrible spa. The staff are rude and unprofessional. I emailed them in advance to confirm that I can take a shower and was told that I can, they even told me that I can come early. But when I actually showed up early, the staff made it obvious that she didn't welcome me, I was told to take a shower between GanbanYoku and massage, so I asked her if I can take a full shower after the massage, she said yes. However, after the massage she started telling me to hurry up and pretty much kicked me out. They don't even have a hair dryer, so I asked her if there's a blow bar in the area, she didn't understand me and I asked if there is a hair salon in the area, she was like "it's not that common in Waikiki. " I explained this frustrating situation to the hotel and they were nice enough to let me use their hospitality room to dry my hair. I emailed them about my disappointing experience with them, but they just said I took too long and didn't even apologize. Go somewhere else, you can easily find better spas. read more

Poor customer service. They would not honor the full value of my gift certificates and just gave me half of the value. Did I mention that they were only 2 days past the experation date. The lady who booked my appointment was the manager, I asked to speak with the owner and she said they were away (like off island). Needless to say, their customer service sucks and it's kind of hard to enjoy the service (simple pleasure), when you feel you're not getting the full value of the certificate. She said that since the certificates were a promotion, the company wasn't making any money and the company was footing all of the labor. Duh? You get advertised via the media, you promote the business via half price certificates, client comes in, tries the spa, enjoys it and hopefully returns, paying full value upon the next visit. That's usually how the certificate works. Yet, the manager gave me a half hour sob story on how much money she was losing via these certificates and she had no clue how these certificates work. You would think, a business would sign a contract and know what they were getting themselves into. Needless to say, I'll go get the treatment, good or bad, I won't be returning. Customer service here sucks and I know better spas that are cheaper and have awesome customer service.....................Too bad, I have to give them one star, they really deserve no stars.....They suck!!!!! Did a couples package for 2 hrs with 4 different activites, 30 min each. 1) granite dome sauna, 2) massage, 3) ocean therapy, and 4) herbal bath. They gave us a key to lock up our personal belongings. Robes that looked kinda worn out and overused. And slippers as well. 1) granite dome sauna was nice and felt amazing!! The lady that was explaining everything had a strong accent but was reply sweet. It was funny how she would make us drink water from a straw while we were lying down. She came in every 10 min to check on us to make us drink more water and give us cold towels to helo us cool down. The sauna felt wonderful tho !! I would do this again. 2) massage. Felt wonderful. It was focused on my neck and shoulders bc stress from work. I don't think the lady introduced herself tho. It was really calming and felt really nice esp for my first massage. I could feel the knots in my back as she worked on them. I wish the massage was longer. Hehe 3) ocean therapy. Glad it was in the public pool, I assumed it was indoor and closed from the public but It was weird. I had to walk in my room, pass the public pools, the bar, the lobby, past the vallet and bell hop people, across he parking lot into a pool area at another building. It's a small gated pool open to the public staying in that building but closed when these sessions take place. This session was basically us getting massaged in the pool and moving around in the water as we float on our backs. Really odd. I could hear he cars and people walk by, talking so it wasn't so relaxing. I just wish it was more private so I could concentrate on the massage itself. Just pretty awkward. 4) herbal tea bath. Tub is kinda small for 2 people. Bath is located in the changing area. It didn't feel like anything special. But they did have complimentary drinks? Tea? And a little snack, tasted like a chocolate cream puff. We didn't stay in the tub too long and although we could've showered in there before leaving, we preferred to just shower.in our hotel room. read more

The girlfriend & I recently had our first spa experience here at Spa Pure. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. During our visit, we had the couple package with Ganban-yoku, 60 minute massage, and a soak. All was excellent, though next time I think we'll go with just massages. My only gripe was the fact that you could hear the kids in the nearby hotel pool yelling and screaming, as well as all the street noise. That detracted a little from what was otherwise a nice, relaxing experience. read more

I got the couples special that includes a personal sauna/steamer to get the toxins out the body and our choice of a full hr table massage or half on table half in the pool. I originally set up my reservation at Spa Pure through email, and I was able to book my 2.5 hour session and was told that the total price would be $390. Once we showed up, we were told it would a different price than what was quoted, but after pulling up the email they agreed to take $30 dollars off. Be advised that there is 18% gratuity that is added on to your bill, something we were unaware of until after the fact (read the fine print on the website). Totally not worth it. Although the Ocean Massage was unique and amazing, the other services fell short of what I would expect after paying close to $500 after tax and gratuity. During the "spacious couples soak tub" at the end, we were given watered down ice tea and some frozen Walmart mini eclairs, definitely not the romantic image I had pictured for our honeymoon. Lastly, as we were leaving i grabbed one of the pamphlets that was displayed outside of the spa which showed different prices then what they were currently charging. The prices at this establishment had changed, and the employee that booked our original appt failed to inform us before arriving that the prices had gone up, but at least we got the discount when we mentioned it. This place was incredibly disappointing with the exception of the ocean massage, I will be hesitant at booking such events through Marriott again. read more

Please do not waste your time visiting this spa! Massively Overpriced for the level of service! My wife and I had 2 separate treatments and had similar experiences! They use big heavy blankets during the massage, which obviously keeps you warm, but how often are they washed?!? During my wife's massage another woman came in the room, and they talked Asian to each other during massage- not very relaxing! There were no candles burning for the bath/soak, it was basically just a bubble bath! Then the background music either skipped or was on constant repeat! After all that, they add a MANDATORY 18% tip on top of the already high prices! I tried to negotiate the tip to be more reasonable, she said it was like a high end restaurant, where they automatically add the gratuity!! Yes, but this spa is definitely not high end! Tips are meant to be paid for good service, not automatically added to the cost. I argued with the lady for 20 minutes, I was happy to tip, but not 18% as it was not good service in my opinion. I found her very rude and would not recommend anyone use their facility, after doing more research, there is a lot of competition in the area, so I'm surprised they are still in business! For the $170 we paid each, I could have had 2 massages at our normal venue!! Also much more enjoyable! Overall we feel this was a complete waste of $343. I expected more from a Spa inside a Marriott. read more

Came here with my Wife and Godfather to treat them to a spa day. I called and a women told me to come right in and too my surprise the doors were locked. Apparently there is one worker, so I don't know why she said three of us could get a massage. We waited for an hour to talk to someone. Fantastic spa! Not only did they accommodate us at 6pm night of, they went above and beyond to clearly explain pricing, what each treatment was for, how it was done and all the benefits of each. We did the couples special which I gotta say is extremely relaxing and romantic. Get the steam dome (gyu something) and the massage if nothing else. Very unique experience well worth the money. They are very friendly and accommodating to your specific needs and will work with you to get the most out of it. 5/5 stars, six even! Unfortunately because the gal speaks very little English we did not get what she said we were getting. I told her we wanted foot hand massages and not full body massage and she guaranteed that we were getting that with the full facial. So I paid the just under $400 for my daughter and I and we left there with just a facial and about a 20 minute steam before. The steam table was supposed to be 30 minutes and it wasn't and the facial was very long however it wasn't what she told us we were paying for. I was very disappointed as this was a first time for my daughter and hit certainly wasn't what we were hoping for. Being that it's inside the courtyard by Marriott I expected that I would be getting what I pay for but unfortunately they do not hire people that speak good English, so there's quite a language barrier. At the end of this pricey adventure they serve you two tiny cream puffs that she said was some special treat but they were frozen and nothing special. Wow!! What an amazing experience! This Spa is located in the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Waikiki (on Royal Hawaiian Ave) and is beautiful and calming as soon as you step in - you can also tell they keep the spa very clean, which is always nice. It is a really peaceful space and Dennis, the owner, was really lovely throughout the experience. We first did the "Ganban Yoku" where you lay on a granite "bed" that is steaming with lavender essential oils. This 30-minute experience has 2 beds so good for 2 people or a couple. It felt amazing to steam and I could tell my skin was really clear and body felt super calm after. (a plus is the beautiful 2-person shower in that room where you can shower before and after the experience). Then, the "Ocean Massage" took us to an amazing warm salted pool heated to 97 degrees. It felt so soothing to be in a warm pool. There, Dennis gave a wonderful massage as I floated in the pool. This is SO relaxing and cool. It was also a huge plus that Dennis so clearly enjoys sharing this experience with people and he was just a pleasure to be around!! Parking: We biked there, but he did offer parking validation at the hotel! I highly recommend this experience to anyone - it's such a unique massage experience and great for individuals or couples. I had a truly healing and wonderful experience at Spa Pure, and I highly recommend it. I have only good things to say- top quality service, beautiful spa environment, and unique offerings. I had the Ganban yoku steam bath which was very relaxing and magically got rid of the pain I was having in my sacrum, as well as the ocean massage. I have heard of Watsu therapy and massages in water, but this was my first experience with anything like that. It was absolutely incredible- I got to completely surrender and be stretched, massaged, and swirled around the private warm pool. Honestly, I would do that every day if I could. Being on a budget, I only booked a 30-minute massage. The woman at the desk inquired as to what areas I wanted to focus on and when my massage therapist, Roger, came up, he also inquired. I have fibromyalgia, scoliosis and spondylolisthesis, so my back (upper and lower) are a priority, plus I've had a painful problem with my left leg for over a month. Roger started with an amazing dry massage, pressing and stretching my back muscles so intuitively, it was like he could feel exactly what my back wanted, especially the twisted part. He gave my back a wonderful massage then started on my left leg. Again, intuitively, he pinpointed exactly where it's been hurting and causing me such difficulty walking. He worked and worked and worked in several different ways and it's now feeling so much better! Much of the pain is released and I'm not limping right now! It was all so good that I extended the massage another 15 minutes, which he used for the other leg and my arms, all just fabulous. Periodically, he'd ask how I was doing, if the pressure was OK, etc. He didn't talk too much, but just enough to be sure I was comfortable. Afterward, I had a very delicious cooling cup of fragrant fruit-infused tea. The desk manager showed me the price, with the tax and suggested gratuity; all very clear. (I added more to the gratuity.) My leg is feeling so much better, I just wish that I'd gone to Roger the first day that I arrived. I have two days left here and they'll be much better now! read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Spa Pure this afternoon. My wife and I decided to spend a relaxing day away from the house and treat ourselves to the "Ocean Massage" and "Ganban Yoku" (think: encapsulated sweat lodge). As a regular to massages, I wasn't sure what to expect with the "Ocean Massage." I know how to relax and breathe during sessions in order to maximize the benefits from the masseuse and their work, but I wondered how it would be in the water. I say confidently that this was a very memorable massage experience in that I felt as if I was surreally floating at times with a secure sense that I was in the hands of an expert. Those thirty minutes flew by and I think I am now preferring it over standard massage sessions on a table. Uh oh!! The "Ganban Yoku" was also a first for me today. Very much like a private sauna, there is something more to lying down on a warm piece of granite with mint aromatherapy completing the zen-like state you will eventually achieve. Dennis' welcoming energy and constant care were second to none. Thank you for our quick afternoon escape and we look forward to our next appointment. read more
