Walked us through add ons without being pushy. - Tomo was my masseuse and was very knowledgeable. She looked at my back and could immediately see I was side sleeper. She gently asked if two places on my back were in pain - and she was right!!! She recommended both Lomi Lomi and shiatsu combo techniques and would gently warn me if something would be a little painful (it wasn't - but a little tender). She also made recommendations on my body that had low circulation (Were cold spots on my body) and how to mitigate with heating pad etc. I've never had such a thoughtful masseuse. She explained each body holds different areas of stress that can manifest as pain/knots and she loved to figure out what a client needed - like a puzzle. The place is inside a building on the 3rd floor. The massage therapist I had did a lot of rubbing. I asked that she work on my neck and shoulder because the tightness was giving me a headache. She used a little pressure and went back to the rubbing. The massage did not help me whatsoever and I would not recommend this place if you are looking or needing a deep tissue massage. My sister's massage therapist was a little better and working on her knots. She had some relief with her therapist. Will not be back to this place. Hubby and I came here as part of our anniversary day. It was close by to our hotel with. Walking distance in a shopping mall. We were able to reserve our time the day before and we got there a bit early to fill out their info sheet prior to heading into our room for the 90 minute couples massage. The prices are better here too: 10% off for couples, and they don't tack on that annoying 4% fee just for using a credit card. I don't know what went wrong but it's very obvious that they either lie to us so that they can get us to the location and then switched it on us and we couldn't back out since we were already there. Had she had told us that she didn't have 90 minutes we had moved on to another massage place that could accommodate the time we wanted. Or is it secondly they are being slightly racist due to the fact that we're not japanese? Why would someone make a decision not to do the 90 minutes as they arrived and saw who we were? I am writing this because I just want the owner and the staff to understand that doing business this way already left a bad taste in the client's mouth right off the bat when they are supposed to have a relaxing massage at their facility.
