***RED FLAG DISCLAIMER *** THE OWNER DELETED MY RATING BECAUSE IM SPEAKING THE TRUTH*** Don't trust the 5 star rating! If hell was a seat it would be at this nail salon. I spent 3 hours here just for a pedicure and manicure. I never judge a book by its cover I decided to give this place an opportunity despite the fact that they only had a small selection of dip powder. I understand completely the shop recently opened up. But do not display products if you do NOT have it at your location: That is false advertisement. I fell victim to the owner who was very polite however had no idea what she was doing with my nails she should just specialize in hair care instead of nails. Firstly; usually when I get a pedicure it consists of a massage,& a foot callus remover. She scrubbed my feet for less than 30 seconds, I still have callus on my feet. Second: The manicure was the most dreadful. I asked for a dip manicure coffin shape, and had picked out a green which I realized after didn't look like the display, so we switched over to white. She gave me egg shaped lemon soup nails and was extremely rough to my skin to the point my cuticles themselves were breaking off( I wish she put that energy into the callus off my feet) she even pointed it out that my skin was breaking from her roughness!!! When I asked her to just do 2 layers of dip powder because I didn't want them to appear thick she kept insisting to put on 3, and blamed the layer of powder as a result in why she couldn't shape my nails to coffin but rather an egg. It felt more like a surgical procedure than a relaxing spa. I hope this business thrives and the owner gets more clientele so she can gain more experience in nails. read more

Got a dip manicure through Groupon and it was pretty good! Renee (?) was so precise and really took her time which I appreciated greatly. She also kept checking in throughout the manicure to make sure it was going the way I hoped (shape, length, thickness, color). All of the tools are clean and she kept sanitizing the tools and my skin before any contact, which is unfortunately hard to see these days at other salons. The manicure did start to lift near the cuticles around the 3-week mark (usually I easily go over 4 weeks without lifting at my other salon). Parking can look a little tricky but there is some street parking right in front of the spa. Still, I would come back to see her because it's nice to finally find a nail tech who isn't in a huge rush! read more

Finally!!! For 15 years I've been trying to find a hair stylist that can give me a great haircut; every-time has been a fail...until Calvin. I couldn't fully express in this review how grateful I am that I ended up trying Spa 920. When I said I received a fantastic haircut, I mean from wash to finish Calvin gave my hair *love*. No strand left untouched, he performed a *work of art* on my dying, difficult and sad hair and turned me into one happy lady who will never again go anywhere else for an amazing, satisfying haircut. Not a big fan of this place anyway. I used to come to this pace for their Japanese head spa - which I found inferior to what I used to experience in NYC anyways. I'm giving an one star because of the owner. She canceled my appointment b/c they decided to take a day off (as if I did not have life and work to make this reservation)... she behaved as if she was giving a service for free. I have more reasons to list here but I don't thing they are worth my time anymore. DON'T come to this place - the owner needs to learn how to run business. read more

I highly recommend Spa 920 for the scalp and hair treatment with Calvin. He was friendly, thorough and clearly explained the whole 2 hours process. My scalp felt clean and hair was soft with noticeably less split ends. It was recommended that I do five treatments, each costing $120. I bought five treatments for $500. The first five treatments should be one week apart and then once a month after that to maintain a healthy scalp. I will be back for my treatment and haircut with Calvin very soon. So happy I actually found a place that offer this treatment for a reasonable price. The owner was very friendly which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. read more

ZERO STARS. Let me reiterate that this place is a big fat ZERO, and only if I could select zero stars. Where should I begin? I made an appointment for my sister and I for their Japanese Head Spa hair treatment. Appointment was for 3 PM. We arrived on time, were told to have a seat, and were attended to 15 minutes later. We changed in to the gown provided, sat in our chairs, technician used a device on my sister's scalp to show her scalp to her. Then, my technician used the SAME device for me except before she could use it, another customer who was getting services called out to her. She dropped everything and attended to the needs of the other customer while I sat in my chair waiting. 30 minutes later I decided to change back in my clothes. Let me point out, this technician did NOT communicate with me all the while I was waiting nor apologized. An hour in my appointment, the other customer left, and the technician set behind the desk using her phone, still absolutely no apology or explanation. Now, the other technician while applying a treatment to my sister's hair happened to drop the brush and she didn't clean it, instead she continued to use the same brush. Also, this technician couldn't be communicated with becauseshe did not speak English at all. My sister's ears were burning from the steam and when attempted to speak with the technician, this person did not understand what was being said. When I tried to get attention of the other technician, I did not succeed until 5 minutes later. 1.5 hours in to our appointment, I still did not receive an apology nor acknowledgement of being provided extremely terrible service. Lastly, we ushered in to the side of the salon to change and that area had a camera but when the other client was leaving, I saw that she actually went inside a room (I'm assuming a bathroom?) to change. As a consumer, I have never experienced this type of disgusting service! I am beyond disappointed. read more

I was heard from a friend this is the place to be for a manicure/pedicure! The people were very welcoming upon meeting and took me straight away to get my pedicure first. The service was very accommodating and professional. The atmosphere is fairly calm with massage chair and friendly staff. I definitely recommend this place! The scalp treatment (also known as scalp massage or head spa) was an hour of pure bliss.

I got the dip manicure over nail extensions. My husband booked me a mani pedi with a Groupon. I was charged $10 for the nail tips (which is the typical price) And was told if I wanted a nail shape it would be an additional $10, but the manicurist (owner?) gave me a slightly "coffin" shape for free. She was also really helpful in choosing the color of dip powder and listened to what I wanted, and matched the color with the picture I showed her. The pedicure was very relaxing. The pedicurist was very accommodating, offering me drinks and snacks, getting a hot neck rice sock, hanging up my coat etc. the massage chair was a great touch. He did a great job on the paint, as well. I believe the pedicurist was in training for doing manicures, and was learning how to use the nail file drill. The owner was instructing him on one hand while she was working on the other to "save time." He held it in one place for a length of time multiple times, and burned me more than once. In addition, on one of my nails it wore down through my nail and was very painful. I actually jumped and jerked my hand away (which is not typical of me.) 3 weeks later and I had the nails removed. That specific nail is very sensitive to touch still. Several of my nails were crooked, the shaping they did was not the same on both hands at all (I guess you get what you pay for.) The dip pedicure lasted very well with no chipping, but it was very chunky and lumpy. Uneven, sharp parts under the nail and on the edges. Overall, the customer service was really great. I felt like they listened to what I wanted and cared about my comfort and experience. The actual manicure services could have been much better. read more

After over a decade of dealing with what I assumed was uncontrollable dandruff and itchy dry flaky scalp, and countless visits to dermatologist and medication that didn't work, I heard about Japanese Hair Spas and a series of treatments they offer that's basically a facial for your scalp. I was having no luck finding a place that offered them, but happened to see a post from this place that caught my eye on Facebook. I immediately made my appointment. When I arrived they took a microscope to my head and showed me the natural build up of gunk. I have healthy hair and maybe use product twice a year. They put a scalp gel and gave me a great head massage, then put me a head steamer on me. After rinsing my hair he put something in it and massaged it again using this incredible device. It sounds like a weed wacker but feels amazing. He rinsed it again then gave it a nice blow dry. Normally it takes 90 minutes but because I have a large head with lots of hair, it took 2 hours. I immediately saw results, and while not completely solved, it's a great improvement. They recommend 3-5 treatments then maintenance (kind of like how laser hair removal is).
