What an amazing experience of wonderful culinary talent and mixologist. The menu for food and drinks change with seasons from what they say, and the drinks in the food items were really amazing. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable on the drinks and the food. That helped us to decide what to drink and eat and they had a really good sense of what we wanted. Thank you to our servers Alexis and Maddie.

From the service, the food, and the drinks, they are constantly 5/5! I love the farm to table, deliciously curated meals and custom drinks. Some meals I've had were literally better than similar meals from Michelin star restaurants in downtown Chicago! Team Green Eats Mike and Keturah

Maybe because we came on Labor Day, they were short staffed. But food took FOREVER to come out!! The service is good (I would say great but it was hard to wave someone down sometimes). The staff are very friendly and helpful (especially when we had a lot of allergy requests). The ambiance is amazing with high ceilings, tables, unique decor, and even the check came in a cute little box! Food was good too. It just took about 40 plus min for the food to come out (but they kindly brought the kids food out as soon as they could). It is a unique dining experience and then you can walk around the rest of the little town and all the nice shops!

Went in just to have a drink on a Fridayevening. We were greeted right away and had the option to sit at a table or the bar. Since we didn't plan to stay long we sat at the bar. I would have liked my drink to be a little fuller with the amount of ice added for the $15. The over all flavor was nice. If you would like to order food, you are able to at the bar which was nice. Overall a nice experience and vibe.

What a great experience! Staff was so accommodating for my celiac gluten free needs. Has an amazing salad and an old fashioned. I will absolutely be back soon! Great vibes and great people.

We came here for date night on a Saturday. I love how the sun doesn't set until 8:30 PM which means more time luxuriating on their outdoor patio. When I was looking up places to go, Sovereign immediately stood out; their impeccable cocktail menu, kinda gothic vibe, and items on their menu called 'wiccan chicken," heck I'm sold. We didn't need a reservation. We parked nearby at a public lot, leisurely strolled through downtown Plainfield, and everyone was out and about, enjoying the live music from the wine & cheese restaurant in the center of town. Needless to say, it was a gorgeous evening to be out. It was "just us" me and my husband sans the baby, so we savor every single moment we can have a night like this. What we ordered: absolute radiance cocktail spectrelight cocktail righteous & the wicked cocktail brussels sprouts fries w good sauce and garlic aioli 4oz tenderloin (an app for my main) meatloaf (his main) extra side of whipped potatoes They have beer, wine, cocktails, whiskeys, rye, and rarities (so cool) so you can order say, a 2 oz of Thomas H Handy Sazerac Rye 2022 for $68. I'm not enough of a whiskey or bourbon fan to understand nor appreciate, but the guys behind the bar are, and they're the ones making my drinks! (Hell ya!) so... Five shining stars for this absolute gem in Plainfield. Their space is large enough for events and rentals. Our server was so nice. The way he described the ingredients in the "good sauce" convinced us to order that extra side of fries and it was worth it. Mind you, my husband and I already each had a side of whipped potatoes. No matter. Their food is the bomb. Once our server brought out the crispy deep fried brussels, I knew each dish was gonna be a banger. Next time, I'll get the wiccan chicken. Alright, I've already said "heck" "hell" and "banger" in this review so it's time for me to retire but TL;DR head to Sovereign! It's one of the best things you'll ever do. Upper scale restaurant in downtown Plainfield. We ordered burgers and wings. The grilled wings were my favorite and the burgers were tasty as well. Dimly lit restaurant which is perfect for date night or dinner with friends. They we're flexible with food allergies and staff was knowledgeable regarding various ingredients. Service was excellent and facilities were very clean. Thank you

Father's Day 2025 Great food had the pork shank. Delicious served over grits and carrot spears. Awesome version of an old fashioned. Sat out in terrace dining. Food took a bit longer than expected but that was due to a large 20 + party. I will go back again that's for sure

My husband and I have visited many times, but I want to give special recognition to the server we had yesterday -- Dick. From the moment we arrived, he went out of his way to enhance our visit, starting by sharing a bit of the establishment's history with our friends who were experiencing it for the first time -- a gesture that was both thoughtful and welcoming. Throughout our meal, he ensured our drinks stayed full, checked on us often, and always greeted us with a warm smile. His great sense of humor kept us laughing, and his outstanding personality made the outing even more memorable. Dick truly made our time there exceptional, and I hope he receives the appreciation he deserves as one of the best servers we've had in downtown Plainfield!! As always, the food and cocktails were excellent. Thank you, Dick, for providing such wonderful service!

Great experience! The food was perfect and portions were more than I could've asked for. I had the Brussel sprouts and snapper. Super cute and vintage/dark ambiance as well.

Tonight, our travels took us to Plai field for a birthday party at Sovereign. Upon entering the establishment, we were created immediately at sat in the cozy corner. Initial impressions of ambiance were warm with the soft glow of yellowish lighting. Their drink and food menu were plentiful. The problem was it was so dark in the room that everyone one of us had to turn the flashlights on our pho es on to read the menus. The second issue we had was that it took forever to get a waitress to help us. The service was very slow all night. The 6 of us tried something different. One had pork chops, another had scallops, my wife had the flounder, I had the half chicken, another had the steak, and last was the Wiccan Chicken. Everyone really liked their dishes except my wife. We both agreed her flounder was nothing special. Definitely would not order that again. My half chicken was very favorable. It came with French fries, but the waitress told me it came with rice. That was very disappointing. The fries were good in the sauce that is pooled at the bottom of the dish... just not what I wanted nor expected. The ambiance was normal noise level, so that was not an issue. Overall, the place has a very nice atmosphere, the food, for the most part, was good. The service and pricing not good at all. I'd say they are worth stopping in if you don't mind waiting awhile for service, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

O.M.B. (ONE MAGNIFICENT BURGER)…read more Their name doesn't say it, but Next Whiskey Bar serves an incredible burger. I know my way around a sandwich, and I have to say the offerings at NWB in downtown Plainfield are some of the best around. Look for the blue & white house on Lockport St, and you'll know you've found it. NWB doesn't take reservations, however you can join an online waitlist. Park on the street or in a small lot adjacent to the building. The beer selection is fantastic, a pint ($8) never disappoints although I usually lean towards a Hefeweizen or pilsner with my meal. Yeah yeah, I know this is a WHISKEY bar, but yours truly doesn't do the brown liquor.....bad experience with Jägermeister as a kid. For appetizers, the cheese curds ($14) are pricey but oh-so-worth it. They come with a cilantro aioli and we get an order of these every single visit. The cauliflower popcorn ($11) is also a very worthy choice for starters; roasted and seasoned cauliflower florets are served with a sumptuous clarified butter. Their house NWB Burger ($16.50) is a busy affair, with pork belly, bbq sauce, onion straws and cheese curds on a pretzel bun. The Big Jer ($15.25) is a much simpler yet equally stellar burger with 2x4oz patties, lettuce, tomato, and Merkt's cheddar spread served with a pickle spear. I recently tried the Suribachi ($15.50) and it blew my mind. A 1/2lb patty is lightly fried in tempura batter, then topped with pepperjack cheese, wasabi coleslaw and sriracha on a brioche bun. Next time, I'm giving the El Toro a shot (pickled habaneros, corn guac). My wife loves the pork belly mac ($16), a good portion of cheesy cavatappi pasta with crispy pork belly. Their Cubano ($15) is solid and the Taylor Street panini ($15) is a tasty Italian grinder, with prosciutto, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato and olive spread on focaccia bread. NWB's homemade chips are amazing, I always opt for them instead of fries (which are also great). Bread = 5+ Circuses = 4.5 Service has been generally fine, but last visit it took a long time for our server to come by initially. The inside of this converted house is somewhat cramped so if the weather allows, I suggest dining 'al fresco'. Their outdoor patio definitely passes the vibe check. I honestly can't decide whose doughnuts are better, Empire in Naperville or Next Whiskey Bar's. It might be a tie! In any case, we ALWAYS end a meal here with the fried doughnuts ($11) that come with a heavenly whiskey caramel sauce for dipping. * TL;DR * In my mind, NWB stands for "Nirvana, With Burgers". Everything we've gotten here has exceeded expectations. Cheese curds, cauliflower popcorn, pork belly pasta, doughnuts and of course burgers all stand out. I would get the Suribachi again in a HEARTBEAT. The ambiance is ideal for date night and small groups, and with a small dining area that fills up fast, come early or expect a wait. Next Whiskey Bar is one of my favorite restaurants in the western suburbs, I highly recommend them.

We made a reservation, too. Kindred is a unique place in that it's in a strip mall and you enter part of the mall to get to the front entrance of Kindred. We walked in and there was nobody at the front desk but a sign that said Seat Yourself. We walk into the bar (b/c that was all we saw) and the bartender gives us the option of a table in the corner or a table right next to the bathroom. We noticed tables right by the window that were open, but those apparently weren't available. We took the corner. We sat and a waitress brought us menus. I asked about the Restaurant Week. She said she knew it was going on, but didn't know what the options were. She was very nice about it, but I had to prod her to find a menu for it. She came back a few minutes later for our drink order and I asked again for the Restaurant Week menu and she again alluded to not knowing what it was. I dropped it but if your restaurant is offering it - your staff should know what is on it and should promote it. Drinks...I ordered a martini - my husband said "diet coke or coke zero." She said - we don't have that. He then said "diet pepsi". She said - they have RC Cola Zero. My husband and I look at each other and we're like "ugh.". Only having RC as your pop of choice is an indicator to us of cheapness/not great food. Skip ahead - another couple comes into the bar at that point and the bartender offers the couple the table by the bathroom. The couple pointed to the tables by the window and I think the bartender said they were reserved. The couple said they had a reservation tonight. I couldn't catch the rest, but they ending up sitting at the table by the restroom. Very confusing. Then - it all made sense - a family of 5 came into the bar...(b/c still no person at the front desk and the seat yourself sign) - said they had a reservation and all of a sudden, someone appears and seats them in a completely different room. Apparently - there is a dining room that we all should have been sitting in. But - having no person at the front desk, a sign that says seat yourself, having an entrance in a strip mall side, and the bartender not explaining anything - was a problem. Skip ahead. Food - we got fried pickles (which were extremely salty) , STK Wrap (just okay), and Garlic Chicken bowl (little garlic). Nothing outstanding and nothing that would warrant us coming back.

Quiubo has fantastic margaritas (some of the best I've ever had) and cocktails. No artificial flavors or syrups are used so they're fresh and delicious every single time. Their bartending staff is limited since the bar space is a little small so drinks can take a while but it doesn't bother me since the drinks are amazing and worth the wait in my opinion. The food is pricey and the portions small, but this is a fancier/gourmet Mexican restaurant. You're paying for the quality ingredients. Aside from the price, the food itself is really good. Even though this place has "fancier" Mexican food, all of it is authentic and delicious. But, like I mentioned earlier, if you want no frills Mexican food, this is not the place for you.
