I stopped by after getting my hair done in the same building as my eyebrows were growing out a lot. I was seen right away by an older woman and explained I wanted my eyebrows cleaned up. She did a really poor job, I could literally pluck them to look better. Usually when I leave a threading salon my eyebrows have a very clean look, but after getting them done here they still look unruly. There's hairs above my brow that were missed so now they look uneven. She didn't trim my brows correctly either, strands are sticking out. Their mirror was super streaked so it was really hard to get a good look at my brows. And the spooly she used to brush my brows was pretty dirty. Needless to say I won't be returning. read more

I really liked the previous salon where I got my eyebrows threaded, but it started to get out of the way for me, and a little expensive as my rent went up. I had tried Sovan's before, and thought my eyebrows were threaded to thin. I decided to try them again as they were easier to get to from my office, and lower in price. I went in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day, unlike the last time when I went after work on a Friday when it was packed. Going there in the middle of the day meant no wait. I didn't get the woman's name, and she did such a great and thorough job! Usually I'll see very tiny hairs, which aren't noticeable from afar, and not a big deal overall. But this women got everything threaded, and shaped my eyebrows with the perfect arch and thickness. The second time I went to Sovan's was also in the middle of the day so there was no wait. It was another woman, and she also a great job of shaping my eyebrows. There were very few tiny hairs left, but again not a big deal as they aren't noticeable. I couldn't even pluck them out with my own tweezers, which is how fine they were. I'm going to keep on coming back to Sovan's. She also has a stamp card, which I think the 12th session is free. I don't get mine done often, so I know it'll be awhile for me to get to that point. read more

I've been going to Sovan's for a couple months now to get my eyebrows threaded. They are quick, and responsive to feedback (e.g., thread a bit more in certain spots). I've only ever done walk in, and sometimes after 5pm on weekdays, there is a bit of a wait, but the longest I've ever really waited is not more than 20 minutes or so. read more

Came here on a whim based on the reviews of others. The lady that was substituting on the Tuesday that I went was super quick and had the shape down. She even checked several times that I was ok with the thickness. I really wanted to support this place, however the lady was a little too quick. I left with several cuts under the brow and now a month later, I can still see the scars. This review is to ensure the employees think about slowing down. I've been here since this place was a one person business! I've always loved the results and it was close to work. Make sure to ask for what you want! I have sparser brows on one side and you have to give specific direction so they don't take off or cut too much. They have Happy Hour which is $12 instead of $15 for an eyebrow thread when you visit in the afternoon from 2-4. I think it's only Monday Tuesday and Wednesday though? read more

Came on a Saturday afternoon with no appointment and I only had to wait a couple minutes before being seen. Previously in San Diego, the person I went to would thread my upper lip and my eyes would tear up from the stinging sensation every time. I thought that was normal. I am glad I went here because it was the best experience I had in a long time threading my eyebrows. Since my eyebrows are thick, it usually hurts a lot while getting it done but the girl who owns this salon (forgot to ask her name) did such a great job. Tried this place out due to a good yelp rating! We're not from around here and my husband and I definitely needed our eyebrows done. It was a little hard to find being inside another building but she has her own cute little room that's clean. She was prescise and nice. Her yelp offers $2 off $10 so we got that discount plus "happy hour" 2 for $24 brows. So that was cool, the price is a little expensive since we're from LA where you can get them done for $5! The owner or main threader was super fast with 10+ years of experience. The place is super clean. Walk-ins welcome. If you work in the Embarcadero Buildings, this place is super close, less than 5 minutes walking distance. There are also a ton of other beauty salons in the building in case you need multiple services done. I got a full face threading via Groupon and I am feeling like I might actually become a repeat customer. Also, there was a line of girls already waiting, I sat down and waited in line and it was less than a 10-minute wait. These ladies are super efficient. I got my eyebrows done form Sovans last time and it was perfect but this time there was this new girl who did my eyebrow . The process was not painful at all but at the end I had two different looking eyebrows . I had a little arch in both my eyebrows but she made one of them with an arch and other one completely round also one was higher and thinner than the other . I want to start with the positives - firstly Rashila is very quick and I love that! I got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded and I was out in less than 10 minutes! Secondly the end result was amazing - I lovee the way my eyebrows look and thanks to Rashila for that! Cons - 1) wayyyy too pricey. $25 for eyebrows and upper lip and that's without the tip. I never paid more than $15 in NYC. Maybe this is standard for SF and I guess I will find out with time. 2) getting the eyebrows and upper lip done hurt above average! I have been to a lot of salons and this experience was definitely not the least painful. Rashiella is like the eyebrow savior. This other beautician started doing my brows, kept showing me what she did to my brows and kept coming back like 3 times to finish. She was nice and patient but still couldn't get all the small hairs I was eyeing on. The beautician was pretty much saying she was done and let me leave UNTIL Rashiella walks in from her break and interrupted. Today was my 7th visit to the salon. My experience was good until today when the lady at the salon spoiled my left eyebrow. The left eyebrow is so uneven as she has removed extra chunks from the bottom and corner of the eyebrow. The picture is attached. When I told her that it was uneven she did not accept and said she would not remove any hair further else it would become too thin. My point was that she should not have removed hair from there at first place. Also, she did not cut the extra long hair at the starting point of eyebrows using scissors until I asked her to do so. She was clearly in hurry. I am very disappointed and they have lost a loyal customer today. Never going back! read more

I work nearby and saw a great deal on groupon with great reviews so I decided to give this place a try. I requested a same day appointment through yelp and they responded within a few minutes. It's a little cute threading shop with two seats. Located on the second floor of the building. When I arrived, I told them I had an appointment and wanted to clean up my eyebrows. The lady who helped me was super nice. [forgot to get her name :( ] She took her time and asked me to look at my eyebrows and see what I thought. I loved it! She cleaned them up and made my brows look on fleek again!!! haha.. she also explained why she left a few hairs on one side and asked if she can take a bit more off on the other. I felt at ease knowing she was taking her time. Now my uneven brows are even again. They also offer a stamp card, after the 10th one, you get a free service. I went for a Brazilian. Used wax strips(normally used for thick area hairs, such as arm or under arm) then used hard wax... that got stuck and added hot wax on top of that to get it off. She was insensitive, and when I told her it hurt. She said it's normal. I go to European wax center normally, so I have a tolerance. She didn't say anything, no apology for messing up or anything. read more
