This nail salon might be small, but it's honestly one of the best-kept secrets around. It's never too busy, which makes it the perfect place to unwind. I love My Nails! I have been there twice for a gel manicure and Tracy always does an excellent job. I cannot speak for the other nail tech as I've only seen Tracy. It's a small, no frills place but is more affordable than surrounding nail salons in the neighborhood. They accept Venmo which is convenient. You can make an appointment online or call, I believe they accept walk-ins as well. My gel manicure typically lasts 3 weeks before starting to chip which is average. My favorite Russian Hill nail salon. It's on Green Street, right behind Frascati's restaurant, meaning I don't have to walk down the hill to Polk street. But it's not just the location. Tracy always does a fantastic job on my nails (which usually arrive is horrific shape after a month of landscaping). I love the chill atmosphere and her prices beat Polk street. My Nails is the best! They are now open again - with great safe covid measures. If you worried about venturing out to a crowded nail salon - this is your place to go, super intimate! It's a small place and typically only one or two people in there so very good for the times. Tracy does an amazing job - and such great attention to detail! Highly recommend!! read more

Every time I walk past My Nails, I can't help but think of Anjelah Johnson's nail salon comedy skit. Just a note: this place is TINY! They take walk ins but only have three pedicure chairs and are always full, so I'd call in advance. My Nails has super cheap prices, but don't expect to walk into a full-blown salon with gossiping ladies, high tech equipment and crazy nail art. They do the basics, like gel, acrylic, etc. but they do it well. This morning was very quiet (I went right at opening), just one other client. My lady wasn't particularly chatty which was actually good because I was suffering from a hangover headache. The quiet was nice and so was the foot rub. And the lady across from me was snoozing, maybe hungover as well lol. Both workers seemed to respect that we weren't in the mood to socialize. I got gel on my toes for the first time and I love it! They sparkle like diamonds in the sky, my feet look so sexy and and I'm pretty sure my boyfriend will love me even more now!! (referencing the skit, don't worry ladies he's not an old-fashioned misogynist) 4 stars because I like the prices and the quality of work. I'll say again, the place is a hole in the wall and a little cramped, and the chairs aren't super comfy but that's fine with me. A basic manicure is only $10! Gel on my toes was $35. Oh, and if you get Van....she's really nice and will share her love of coconut oil with you. read more

I am SUPER picky about my nails. I normally paint them myself because I don't trust anyone to do as well of a job (yes I know I sound insane), however, I do get the occasional gel manicure. Local ladies and once you get to know them they are so sweet!!! They stayed open late for me and let my dog hang out in the shop. Tracie says she knows all the dogs in the neighborhood and started to name them, so cute. Usually customers are great too and love a good convo because it's so small and intimate. I live around the corner and will be back! read more

Tracy is THE BEST!!!!!! I've been coming here for years and have NEVER been disappointed; I don't like spending hours at the nail salon, and Tracy is the perfect combo of speedy and meticulous. I always like to support local businesses but definitely won't be coming back here. I felt my pedicure was very rushed, no care was taken, the whole pedicure was completed in about 5 minutes (the longest time was spent in the feet dryer). The water I put my feet in was lukewarm. There was no attention to the cuticles or hard skin and the staff barely spoke to me. I did not like the nail color when it was put on but the lady doing my nails ignored me and carried on putting a second coat on. When I got home my nails were uneven and clumpy. I paid and left a tip, but not even a thank you and goodbye. Shame, live very close but not coming here again. read more

I stumbled upon this gem when I moved into my new apt. The owners are super nice and friendly, plus Tracy gives one of the best gel manis I've ever had- 3 weeks without fail- for only $25. Yes the place is a bit small, but its clean and quaint, they always accommodate call aheads/walk ins, and they have a great assortment of colors. Coming up on a year and this is the ONLY spot I go to- I should have wrote this review ages ago. Also on a fun note- remember when we had that heat wave out here over labor day weekend and you either laid on your floor or called around to find places with AC?? I went to get my nails done and there was nothing funnier than Tracy fanning me while my nails dried because she saw sweat dripping down my face! Everyone has their fav spots in the city and this one is that small business that makes you feel like part of neighborhood. read more

On top of the fantastic service, Christina was a great conversationalist-- the time flew by, and it was good vibes all around. I thought they were shedding normally and going back to blonde. NOPE! They weren't growing back at all. I went to the dr and it is 100% because of what she did. I now am using rogaine to regrow them. It's taking forever and she also refused to pay for product to help grown them back. It's probably going to be another 2-3 months of me looking awful because of Perri. Have the Holiday you deserve.

Another woman came to where I was seated and began digging at my nails and yanking my hand. With every use of the drill she tore at my cuticles more and more. She then proceeded to use the cuticle scissors and ripped away at what was left of my cuticles. My entire left hand was left bleeding and in excruciating pain, to the point where my nails looked like I got in a fight and lost. It wasn't until she realized all my fingers on my left hand were bleeding that she stopped yanking at my hand and seemed to care about the terrible job she had been doing for the last hour. She finished my nails and told me she didn't charge me for the fill.... As if she was doing me a favor. I didn't want to pay but reluctantly did anyways but of course I did not tip her. It's now been three days and my cuticles are still red, raw, and in so much pain daily tasks such as showering and reaching into my purse have become sharp reminders of the terrible service and experience I received. I write all this to say, this place is not worth the pain and headache.

All of my experiences have been positive, but I have particularly enjoyed my facials with Lisa. She is friendly, skilled and honest (she lets me know when she thinks I won't benefit from a particular add-on service). My skin has become healthier since I started getting regular facials from Lisa at Glow (I typically get the microdermabrasion facIals, but I've also gotten chemical peels).
