Be careful with your calcs! Our own calc (via AI) for Patagonia 3/8" gravel was nearly 35% lower than Southwest's online calculator for the same volume. We went their calc, but ours was right! Negotiating the return of 3000 pounds of gravel was challenging, and we lost money on freight and restocking. Paul was otherwise super helpful, and we love our new backyard. wow - pricing here was crazy! Bought 6 "boulders" small enough that I, a 60+ woman, can lift them and the bill was over $400! Previously bought from Whitewater Rock and Supply in Palm Springs area - at Whitewater Rock an 80 lb green stone was $28 versus the same type of stone $113 this weekend at Southwest. See pics. At Whitewater I have literally filled the back of my SUV with lovely rocks and rock pavers for under $200. At Southwest Boulder my few rocks easily fit in a portion of my Audi sedan's small trunk. For $400!!!! Though the rocks were nice, prices were crazy, and not marked, so I only found out the price at the register. Will not visit again. read more

Recommend - calling to place (and if needed modify) orders since they are more responsive than via email - ordering a little extra since the delivery fee makes smaller orders pretty pricey compared to alternatives - check your driveway is ~9' wide so the delivery driver's forklift can fit Their "California gold" decomposed granite looks noticably better than Home Depot's decomposed granite. read more

We visited this place for the landscape small rocks. They have a variety of small rocks and big pebbles compared to the Home Depot. We noticed the 1 cubic yard (1.25 Tons) is about $200 to 450 depends on the rock size and name. They decorated inside such as the hotel waterfall wall, patio fountain, stone tables and chairs. But they charge the delivery fee over $180 plus packing fees. We think it is pricey. This place is good for the landscape experts and contractors for the custom big project. Overall, we had good time to take a look at all the different sized small rocks and pebbles. They open 8 to 4 on Sat. Closed on Sunday. read more

Southwest Boulder & Stone rocks. It also has rocks. Tons of them! Any kind of stone you can imagine is here, from tiny pea gravel all the way up to huge boulders, of numerous types and varieties. And if they don't have it immediately available, they can find it for you. We came here looking for some ground cover for a couple garden areas, and were blown away by the sheer number of possibilities. There are also many options for paving stones and decorative rock. There is a wholesale type atmosphere here, and it is clearly a place where contractors would go for materials. The prices were very reasonable and there seemed to be discounts available, especially if you buy large quantities. Employees on site were friendly and approachable. If you ask they will explain the ordering and delivery process, which is all quite simple. Also as others have mentioned they allow you to take samples of rock so you can see how it would look in a particular application. Five stars, best rock supply out there. read more

I decided to visit Southwest Boulder & Stone because I wanted to be able to hand select a few large boulders for my garden. The crew working there was very helpful both on the phone and in person. They have three types of large boulders on site that you can select from, as well of a selection of other types of boulders that you can custom order. They also have other types of stones (such as river stones) that you can pick out. The prices were very reasonable, with the 1.5 ft Desert Sand Boulders costing about $30 each. I think the 2" Desert Sand Boulders were around $50 each. The river stones were based on weight, but we got about 20 of them for $16. Delivery to Los Angeles costs $300. read more

Covering a courtyard and a back private patio with white stone. We needed a sizeable amount and we were quoted more than $17,000 at the start of 2024. Yes more than seventeen thousand dollars! We went elsewhere, found the same stone and got the quantity we needed and it was $1498 out the door shipping included. I gave them the measurements for my project and they told me I needed 3 cubic yards. I ordered it and had it delivered and it's a full yard too much. I called the company to see if they would pick up a material... not even asking for a refund and they want to charge me $150 for pick up and a %75 restocking fee. The gravel is in a bag on a pallet still untouched. Worst customer service ever. I will make sure I tell as many people as possible to avoid this place. read more

I order 3-5 inch stone after a long conversation with the sales lady what they would be used for. She steered me to type of stone as was on sale and had prettier colors but never mentioned it was 3-8 inch stone. The pallet was delivered today. Most of the stones were 5-12 inches long. Not even close to what I needed. After calling back to get the right size the dispatch man, who claims he was the owner or manager, would not shut up long enough for me to explain how the error happened, (which in my opinion was not my error), and after a heated conversation of me telling him to be quiet long enough to listen to how this happened and if he could just make the swap we could resolve this. He was right. I was wrong. I was stupid not to reading the invoice after the fact. So he would happily take them back for 25% restock, plus another $230 delivery fee, but was so kind not to charge me for a $230 pick up fee. The stones cost less than $150. How's that for shitty customer service. I told him I will keep the stones and write this review. Buyer beware that if an error is made, it is your fault. read more

I have interacted with three employees there. The first time I visited, Employee #1 yelled down at me across the warehouse to move my car from "his alley". It was my first time there and the dedicated parking wasn't obvious to me. It was entirely my mistake I guess, but its a terrible first impression for a business to speak to their customers in that manner. I didn't let it get to me and chose to return and give the business a shot anyways. Employee #2 was a cool guy. I went into the showroom floor and found a large bin of .5in-1in Mexican beach Pebble Rocks that appealed to me for my small landscaping project. The rocks were dark-ish gray in color and I loved the consistency of the color and quality amongst most of the rocks. I paid for about 5 bags (about $100 worth). It was my understanding that I was purchasing the rocks from the large bin and they would be filling up 5 bags worth. When they were about to load them to my car, the forklift had a pallet of sealed pre-packaged bags from their branded dealer or manufacturer. The rocks looked nothing like the ones in the showroom and it was obvious they came mixed with gray, brown and white looking rocks. When I asked employee #3 if I can get some bagged from the showroom floor instead, he said they couldn't accommodate that. Their reasoning was, "Why would they bag rocks from the showroom floor when they already had the ones they were trying to give me". They gave me a "take it or get a refund" kind of deal. Frustrated and disappointed, I didn't make a fuss. If that's their policy, what can you do? Employee #2 was reasonable about the situation and gave me a refund. Moral of the story, they have some good looking rocks in the showroom floor. If you're a contractor spending big bucks you'll probably get a better treatment. However, if you're like me and spending something like $100 bucks, its safe to assume its pretty much peanuts to them and they can afford to lose your business. read more

They sold me decompose granite with additional cost to mix in stabilizer to make the decomposed granite hard I paid for it, but they did not put the stabilizer in the last two scoops.
