    Pacific clay brick
    Emma P.

We contacted this place and Ray picked up the phone. He answered all of our questions right away and he was super nice and very helpful. We requested a specific type of red brick and he knew exactly what we were talking about. He promised to check and get back with us 10 minutes later he calls back and says that he was able to find the supplier who supplies these brakes, he was able to send us a sample by mail and we chose that same brick we were looking for. They have fair prices and they are very honest. I would definitely go back in the future

We recently bought a home and the bathrooms needed to be remodeled. We are first time homeowners and my husband put me in charge of designing the bathroom, which is a full time job all in itself. We drove from WLA to Fountain Valley early on a Saturday morning to check out their showroom. It's not big and flashy like their bigger competitors but it had the best of what each brand (Grohe, Toto, American Standard, Moen, etc.) had to offer. It was definitely enough to check out each brand's product and design to make a decision but it wasn't so much that it was overwhelming and you can't decide. We met Randy that day. We had lots of questions but had a general idea of which products we wanted in our bathrooms. He was really patient and friendly (even though he was recovering from a cold and had lost his voice) and answered every single question and gave us a quote on the items we needed. I spent another two weeks shopping around and trying to finalize the design. I did tons of research and requested prices from several companies. When it came time to buy everything, I called Randy again and he was more than happy to set me up with a few faucet and shower recommendations when I couldn't decide. I ended up placing multiple orders over the span of a week and had questions on top of questions and each moment of the way, I could count on Randy to guide me in the right direction. He's knowledgeable, friendly and overall a great person to work with. Most of the prices he quoted me were on par or came close to what I found on the Internet. And then there were other items that were priced lower than their local competitors. The advantage over ordering online is that if it's in stock within their company, they can deliver it to you next day, instead of the usual week or two when you order online. I'd rather support my local businesses than the large online retailers any day. It's worth a call to get a quote! I highly recommend Smardan's if you're renovating your bathrooms and kitchen and need fixtures and plumbing supplies. These guys are great! They're friendly, extremely knowledgeable and their prices are highly competitive. The invaluable customer service I've received from this company alone warrants a 5 star rating. Even their delivery guy was friendly and on time! Overall a great company to work with. We could not be happier.

But after doing lots of research and seeing quartzite in a real kitchen, we made the switch. It's been one of the best decisions!!! Marble Yard (not to be confused with The Yard) was the third place we visited. I was already overwhelmed from the other two showrooms, but Dale and his team were so helpful in helping us narrow down our options. He asked for our measurements, input them into a design app, looked at our floor/cabinet samples, and really listened to what we wanted. We told him we were looking for quartzite that resembled marble, and he showed us a leathered Bianco Superiore quartzite slab that was absolutely stunning. The leathered finish has a matte, textured feel where you can actually feel the veins--unlike honed, which is matte but smooth. It wasn't what I expected, but we were both instantly drawn to it. Dale also gave us great recs for tile installers and fabricators, all fairly priced. Total bonus: he's been on multiple HGTV shows as a stone and design expert! Everyone who visits wants to touch our countertops and asks about them. They are also very easy to maintain, even with young kids. Huge thanks to Dale and the Marble Yard team! Highly recommend.

From the very beginning, he was incredibly helpful, he even did a layout of my kitchen right away so I knew exactly how many slabs to purchase. He's extremely knowledgeable and guided me through the whole process without any pressure. We used his fabricator as well, who ended up being one of the best vendors we've worked with. Everything from selection to fabrication went smoothly, and we absolutely love the final result. Dale truly knows his craft and is a genuinely nice guy. Highly recommend working with him for any marble needs!

My review for this place is twofold…read more The showroom is beautiful, with a great selection to choose from. Our experience with Polina was excellent, she was friendly, kind, and very helpful in guiding us through our tile selection. Where things fell short was communication and delivery...especially disappointing as this was our first time shopping here. When we placed our order, we specifically asked if the product was in stock and were told that it was. After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience.

Terrible management and product quality…read more I paid top dollar for a new front door from Ganahl, only to receive one with obvious defects: flaws in the wood -- including what appears to be a deep saw-cut burn and an oil stain -- putty oozing from the surface, and other workmanship issues that should never have passed quality control. When I reported the defects, Ganahl was dismissive and argumentative. I was essentially told that "wood is wood" and that the condition of the door was normal. That position quickly fell apart when the matter was escalated to the manufacturer, T.M. Cobb, which acknowledged -- from only a few photographs -- that the door did, in fact, have defects requiring attention. Despite that admission, we were told that it would take at least a week for someone merely to inspect the door, with no indication of how much longer an actual repair or replacement might take. Ganahl knew that professional installers were scheduled for the day the door arrived and that the installation was necessary to keep exterior stucco preparation, inspections, and the rest of the construction schedule moving. I proposed a remote video (Facetime) meeting so the parties could review the defects promptly and discuss possible solutions before the project was further delayed. Ganahl and/or T.M. Cobb unilaterally decided that such a meeting would be fruitless and instead dictated that I would have to wait for an in-person visit. T.M. Cobb also refused to discuss the matter with me directly, while Ganahl refused to put me in contact with the person T.M. Cobb planned to send to inspect the door. Their proposed course of action was therefore no solution at all -- send the installers home, stop related work, delay inspections, absorb the resulting costs, and wait at least a week without even being permitted to speak directly with the manufacturer or its inspector about possible options. We were therefore left with two unacceptable choices -- refuse to install the door and bring the project to a halt, or install it to keep construction moving and potentially have to rip it out later. To make matters worse, we were told that installing the door could be treated as acceptance "as-is," supposedly relieving Ganahl and T.M. Cobb of responsibility for correcting the defects. In sum, Ganahl delivered a defective premium-priced product, offered no timely or practical remedy, blocked efforts to discuss solutions promptly, and attempted to shift the consequences of its quality-control failure entirely onto the customer. The defective door was unacceptable. Ganahl's dismissive attitude, lack of urgency, refusal to take ownership, and unwillingness to facilitate direct communication made the experience significantly worse. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering a door through Ganahl or purchasing a T.M. Cobb product.
