My review for this place is twofold. The showroom is beautiful, with a great selection to choose from. Our experience with Polina was excellent, she was friendly, kind, and very helpful in guiding us through our tile selection. Where things fell short was communication and delivery...especially disappointing as this was our first time shopping here. When we placed our order, we specifically asked if the product was in stock and were told that it was. After we paid and left, we received a call saying the product was actually not in stock and would take about a week. Frustrating, but what made it worse was the response we got when we followed up. We spoke with Glenn and explained that had we known, we might have gone elsewhere. His response was essentially that we were free to do so. Having worked in customer service for over 10 years, I found that surprising and disappointing...there was no effort to retain our business or make things right. We decided to continue with the order since we had already paid. Fast forward about two weeks, and we hadn't received any updates. I called to check in and was told the shipment was still in transit and might arrive by the end of the day. I asked to speak with a manager, and Glenn called me back. To his credit, he acknowledged the earlier interaction and apologized for the delay, but there was still a lack of proactive communication or effort to improve the experience...especially considering we had already, made multiple trips for payment and a partial pickup. Ironically, I received a call just before closing that the rest of the shipment had arrived and would be ready for pickup the next day...but only after I had reached out first. I would still recommend this place for the showroom, selection, and the help we received from Polina. Just be aware that the follow-through and communication may not match that initial experience. read more

Over the phone they told me to come in with a sample of my tile because they could have someone "track down the tile" or they could do a "custom order in Mexico" of the tile for me. Too good to be true. I take time out of my day drive to Santa Ana with my sample, walk into the store, and in under two minutes I am told that the best thing for me to do is to trim the tile myself and bevel the edges of the tiles myself because custom orders will be too expensive (they had no idea what my budget is). With zero effort, they also proceed that they can't find my tile since it's over 20 years old. it's important to note that these tiles are for multimillion dollar project located in Laguna Beach. Clearly, this is something that could've been explained to me over the phone instead of wasting my time and then being rude. They certainly have plenty of tiles for contemporary and new buildings but if you're looking for tiles for an older home, I don't recommend. read more

After 1.5 years of crippling decision paralysis with my tile selections, I finally committed to getting our bathroom done. Stephanie at Tile Elements deserves a medal for her patience and expertise. Our experience with many of the tile stores in Orange County has been disappointing. Either they have a limited selection or terrible customer service. The day we met Kathy at Tile Elements, we knew she would be the only tile resource we could trust. After a brief description of the look and feel we wanted for our porch and balcony renovation, Kathy directed us to the perfect tile. She's aesthetically gifted and well-versed on all things tile and stone. When we expressed our concern about the contractor we hired cutting corners, Kathy asked us all the right questions. When we showed her photos of the demolished and prepped porch and balcony, she confirmed that the contractor we hired had not properly demolished or waterproofed the areas. We asked her for a contractor referral and she provided a well-vetted list. Within days, we met with Edin of EV Tile who explained in layman's terms how the areas had been poorly demolished and prepped. He showed us how the previous contractor had laid indoor water resistant (not waterproof) paper under cement board and screwed the cement board through the paper. The screws obviously penetrated the cement board and water resistant barrier. This is a completely improper and ineffective waterproofing method which over time would have ruined the balcony and cost us thousands of dollars to repair and rebuild. So yes, Kathy is an invaluable resource. We're grateful for her. ...And did I mention her prices are better than the other tile stores we visited? --Enough said. read more

As an engineer/builder, you can imagine how selective and critical I am when working on my own home. Tile Elements has several significant edges over other tile businesses out there that you could pick, but they are truly superior. You wouldn't expect it, but this smaller than "Big Box" tile store has as larger an offering of tiles, more unique and rare tiles, AND more competitive pricing; you just have to be willing wait a couple days to receive an order once you place it, but they have plenty of samples for you to take home to check things out. Additionally, tile selection staff like Norma are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and reliably communicate with you. Beyond selection, the "guys in the back" are fantastic. Glenn, Jorge, and Rob know anything and everything about installation. They regularly supply professional tile setters with all their supplies and tools - again at the most competitive prices. I have to emphasize, that even as a smaller store, it actually has more Schlüter products on hand than other stores, great prices, AND can order and get special items in faster and less expensive than other places. We did a remodel at our house in Upland. Tried finding tile locally but couldn't find what we liked. We were referred to Tile Elements from a friend in Orange County. Made an appointment and found exactly what we liked. Steph in the showroom was patient and helped us for a couple hours. By the time we were done we had both bathrooms and the kitchen picked out. Placed the order over the phone the next day after talking to our contractor to confirm sqft and the tile was ready for us to pick up two days later. They set up delivery for us for a great price. I found out about Tile Elements through Laticrete's distributor list. After calling/checking out some of the distributors in that list, including two local Floor and Decor stores, I found out that most of them didn't carry a Laticrete Spectralock Part C epoxy grout in a color that I wanted. So I was pleasantly surprised when I called Tile Elements on Monday and Glen told me that they go to Laticrete's plant in Riverside (?) on Tuesdays to stock up, and could pick up the item I need. Glen gave me a reasonable quote (equivalent to an online retailer's quote with shipping) and placed my order on the phone, saying my order should be ready for pick up by Tuesday evening. Sure enough, I got a phone call on Tuesday afternoon, letting me know that my order was ready for pick up. The next day, I came to pick up and was immediately impressed at the organization and vast selection of beautiful tiles in their showroom. My first thought was, how could I not have known about this place! A helpful staff member greeted me and pointed me to where I needed to go, to the pick up area at the back. There, another friendly staff member named Salomon immediately assisted me. While I was there, I asked him if they had any epoxy haze remover and he pointed me to the right direction. He even carried the heavy Spectralock Part C powders to my car and struck up a pleasant conversation about soccer when he saw my team's decal on my car. Our bathrooms are going through remodeling and I wish we had known of this place before ordering tiles from Floor and Decor. I'm not sure how the expense would compare but for the attention, and great communication and customer service I received, I would definitely check Tile Elements out for our next house remodeling project. read more
