Elmer and his crew went above and beyond! They were able to start the project earlier than planned. Then they finished in half the time he told me originally (2.5 days instead of 5). Everything looks great! Removed old marble tile bordering my concrete steps and installed travertine tile. Also removed some marble tile from the short stucco walls, fixed the walls, and re-painted them so they look like new. Elmer is very professional and kept me updated with texts and pics showing the progress throughout and upon completion. Definitely will use him again for future projects and refer my friends to him. read more

Scheduled time for Elmer to come repair bathroom tile. Said he had emergency and rescheduled, offering discount like the other reviews mentioned. Rescheduled for this morning. No show and not responding to texts or calls. Awesome, not. read more

Elmer helped me finish my cold plunge and shower room. He and his team were very communicative, efficient, and fast! He finished the job in just a few days and he charged me a very reasonable price for it. Every day his team would arrive super early and work late into the afternoon to deliver results. Will work with Elmer again 100%. read more

Our entire home needed new floors and Elmer and his crew were the company we decided to go with. What a great decision that was! Yeah, like any big project we had a few unforeseen hiccups but Elmer was always quick to respond and kept his word with everything. Our somewhat simple project turned into a pretty big one. We ended up ripping out all the squeaky original wood floors and replacing all new plywood (not originally quoted) fortunately for me I had a few businesses quote me with prices for both complete floor replacement or just tossing new laminate over the original wood floors. Elmer's price was honest and beat the other's prices, which was great! Elmer and his crew worked hard and were able to complete a rather big project in a very good time. Most importantly the work looks fantastic! Our home looks amazing with its new floors feels like something out of a magazine. During the project the "boss" of the home aka wife decided she wanted the brick around the fireplace replaced. Elmer added that additional project into the time frame and was able complete the tile also, and it looks amazing. We highly recommend My Tile Guy OC for your next project! read more

I reached out to Elmer after discovering a leak in our shower that required re-tiling due to a previous contractor's mistake. He was consistently quick to respond to all of my questions and to provide a quote, when most other contractors I reached out to ghosted me or were extremely slow to respond. He was able to quote me a fair price and scheduled to come out within a week. His crew arrived early and was able to repair the issue within the same day, when other contractors had quoted me several days. The repair looks great and he was kept me up to date with what repairs were being done and his reasoning. I'd definitely use him again for my next tile project. read more

Completely unreliable! I contacted Elmer several weeks ago to schedule a date to install some floor underlayment and tile in my bathroom. He responded with a text and what seemed to be a fair quote. However, the night before he was scheduled to come do the job, he texted me and said his guys took longer than expected on the project they were currently on and would have to reschedule. I didn't make an issue of it, but was upset because I already planned to take the day off. Anyhow, I simply texted back and said let's reschedule for the following week. He said, "Let's do next Friday again and I'll be there." I text him the day before to confirm they'll be there Friday, not like I have to work or anything right? Sure as shit, Friday morning comes around and his guys are a no-show...again! I try calling him but he doesn't pick up and only responds by text, "Let me check with my boys and see what time they can be done." That's the last I ever hear from him. Super unprofessional, cowardly and unreliable. It's really upsetting when you have to miss work not once, but twice and still don't have the work completed. I wish I never came across him on Yelp and would have found another tile installer. Definitely not going to be "My Tile Guy!" IF YOU'RE READING THIS, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER RELIABLE TILE CONTRACTOR. UPDATE: Yelp won't let me respond to your comment, but you as the business owner set your price, I never negotiated. I have the material on site, I merely asked what was included in your estimate. You yourself offered a discount since you and your guys were no shows. Don't try to make me look like the bad guy when I had to miss 2 days of work because you and your guys didn't want to work. read more

Seriously, these guys are the BEST! After our phenomenal backsplash, we reached out to Elmer and his crew for our front porch and atrium project. Knocked it out of the ball park. We went with a French pattern tile. These guys have skills and installed it perfectly! Made our dreams come true! Thank you so so much Elmer, Adelfo and the crew! So happy we found them! Excited for our third project with them! read more

We recently renovated both of our bathrooms and had chosen small 2"x2" hexagon tile on our bathroom floors. We loved the tile but it turned out to be more difficult to work with than a regular-sized tile. So difficult that we'd had the floors tiled TWICE by two different licensed professionals only to have major problems (different problems after each install). I was beyond frustrated. Each install was time, money, mess, and stress and knowing that we'd done it twice and were still really unhappy was demoralizing. Enter: My Tile Guy OC. Elmer and his team were professional from beginning to end. Elmer came in for the quote and pointed out problems without me having to say anything. He even pointed out issues with the installs that I hadn't noticed and explained how he'd fix it. Him and his guys... 1) got the job done in a reasonable time (about 2-3 days per bathroom) 2) protected my hardwood floors 3) kept the mess to a minimum and completely cleaned up after they were done 4) fixed the very few, minor flaws I found without complaint or hesitation. I really felt like they wanted me to be happy! 5) were friendly and communicative the whole time 6) did the whole thing for a really reasonable price 7) made my floors beautifulllll 100% worth using these guys. 100%!!!!! read more

After an extensive search for a company to perform tile work I came across my tile guy oc yelp page Spoke with the owner which was extremely professional and extremely polite and listen to what my needs were and decided to come to the job site and take a look and see what we can do. You showed up on time give me a very decent price give us some pointers of what we can do showed her some options as far as pattern goes what material we should and some other ideas. After coming to agreement to a price they performed the job to my expectations and I was very pleased with the work, and what was important was my clients were even more happier, only issue was we ran out of tile which was not their fault we were short and he did not give us any issues or problems about coming back to finish once we received the product. Since then I have hired Them for another job and the performance was just as good as the first one if not better. We will continue to work together and if you're looking for someone to do tile for you I highly suggest my tile guy OC.. Ask for Elmer!! read more

Needed the backsplash done in our kitchen and contacted Elmer for a quote. From the beginning quote stage I could tell he was going to be great to work with. He was quick to respond to coordinate visiting for a quote, he was on time to the appointment - all good signs! His quote was comparable to others we had received but I chose Elmer because he demonstrated responsibility up front. After we decided to go with him, we were able to schedule a date. He was easy to work with on schedules especially because it was around the holidays and I trusted he would show up on time and complete the job when he said he would. Elmer was able to tell me how much square footage of tile to buy since I was going to buy it myself, along with how much trim to purchase too. It was so easy because he would then pick it up! A few things that stood out to me about his work: - His crew was great! - They did very clean work, SO happy with how the tiles came out. Straight lines, even spacing! For reference we did a Subway tile in a brick pattern. - We had an infill needed at a window trim left from the demo existing backsplash that he helped us with too! - There was trim leftover and he left it for me (so I could return it) - They left the house and work area clean. We had one hiccup: I forgot to remind him (and he also forgot) to reinstall the outlet wall plates before leaving. I wasn't around when he finished up but when I stopped by to check it when they were wrapping up I didn't even notice because I was so happy with how the tiling turned out! However a quick text to Elmer and he said he would come back and install them for me later that week! Loved working with Elmer and would definitely invite him back to do work in the future! read more

Believe all the 1 star reviews. Elmer is unreliable, untrustworthy, and a waste of time. I gave him the job of 2 bathrooms and 2 showers that need tiling. He gave me a price and I asked him to do it for a little less. Negotiating is part of the business. If he couldn't do it for the agreed upon price, he should have said so. I asked him to sign some paperwork (contract, etc.) so we can pay him with a check on time. I chased him for a week to get 3 signatures. When I asked him to send his license number, it turns out to be his brothers license. When I asked him to send his insurance information, it didn't match his other paperwork. I wonder if his brother even knows he is using his license. Once everything was signed, he was a no show on the day he agreed to start the job. He ignored phone calls and when he decided to communicate would only reply by text. I have a deadline for the job and now Elmer has pushed it back. Save yourself the headache, stress, and disappointment and go with someone else. The absolute worst communication I have ever experienced. read more

Elmer and his team were fantastic. We had a shower tile remodel, and not only was their quote was much more reasonable than others, but they're honest, meticulous and always on time (actually early which is even better) Their expertise and workmanship really shows in how sharp our shower looks. We couldn't be happier -- will definitely be using them in the future. read more

We are SO happy with the outcome of our backsplash form My Tile Guys OC. When I first searched for a company to install our backsplash I messaged at least 10 companies on yelp and Elmer (owner of My TIle Guys OC) got back to me within minutes, I sent him pics and measurements and he gave a quote within two hours. Many of the the other companies wouldn't give an estimate via photos. With Covid-19 I didn't want to have lot of people in the house and needed quotes via photos. Anytime we had questions Elmer was quick to respond. He helped guide us with grout color and we are SO pleased with the outcome. His crew is very experienced and they know what they are doing. Best part is there was no mess to clean up when they were finished!! They are very tidy and even laid down paper everywhere so nothing gets messed up. Thank you for your hard work! Will be using them again when we we doing floor tile. read more

Adding another update: called on this crew again for another project - great service, great price...can't say enough about Elmer and his team. Thanks for always taking such good care of your customers! In fairness, we are still in progress on the project, but I couldn't wait to post 5 stars on my experience thus far. From the time I contacted Elmer he has been nothing but kind, prompt and professional. He and his crew arrived on time for the agreed upon project date, demo day was successful and today they are framing out the bathroom for new tile. These guys are awesome - always smiling, keeping things as clean as possible (full demo) and keeping the communication open and ongoing. Good contractors are hard to find - looks like I found a great one. I'll update my post with pictures when the project is finished. Thus far, my recommendation is to call this crew for your tile needs - why waste time with othe read more

I guess I should have listened to all the reviews that say they are unreliable. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Bad decision. I made an appointment through Yelp. We also confirmed it. Of course the time comes in my busy day for them to show up. I wait and wait. No show. No call or nothing. The posters seem correct that they just don't show up. What kind of operation is this. I had a big job with flexibility and they just blow me off. Why? Too difficult to let someone know? No respect for customer's time? If a business keeps doing this they will not stay in business when times get tough. read more

I reached out to "My Tile Guy OC" with a need to do 2 different projects. The first project having to do a repair and replace for tile previously laid down that has cracked and a new demo and install project. We made arrangement to get a repair started yesterday at 4p.m. since I am on a timeline to sell my home but 5p.m... 6p.m.. and no response. I reach out and no response. Completely ghosted me. Still waiting here with no response after I contaced them. I read a previous review where he was unreliable and lacked the proper etiquette to value one persons time. Steer away from this company. They may respond promptly but will they actually show up? Probably not. read more

Elmer is trustworthy, honest and reliable. He has an excellent team working with him. They installed a shower in my master bath, using the tried-and-true method of tar paper and hot tar, using multiple layers. The large tiles, laid out in a brick pattern, look beautiful.
