Cheers to the staff of 459 DEN to ABQ. I fly SWA a lot. It's my husband's go to airline and we are A-priority fliers now. That all being said, I have never experienced such a lovely staff from start to finish checking in to board, one of the pilots acknowledging each passenger in addition to the flight attendants. All of our flight attendants were EXCEPTIONAL. I'm unclear how this rating overall isn't higher. You crushed it Southwest. Thank you! read more

My journey began with an initial 45-minute delay on my Mem-to-Denver flight, which eventually stretched into a three-hour wait. When I called customer service, the representative assured me I would still make my connecting flight to Los Angeles because that connection was also delayed. Furthermore, once we finally boarded, our 1.5-hour flight somehow took nearly three hours. Upon landing in Denver, our connecting aircraft was still parked at the gate. Despite this, we discovered during our flight that Southwest had canceled our connection and rebooked us for a morning departure. The situation at the gate was deeply frustrating and unfair for these reasons: Arbitrary Boarding Denials: Approximately 20 passengers were left stranded. The flight was delayed by over four hours, yet gate agents arbitrarily allowed some passengers to board while turning others away, with no clear explanation. Unhelpful Staff: Both the Southwest desk representative and the gate agent refused to listen, reasoning, or offer any assistance, leaving us stranded. Lack of Accommodations: Leaving roughly 20 patrons stranded overnight--forcing us to sleep on airport floors or plastic seats with zero overnight accommodations or vouchers--is disgraceful. After traveling for nearly 24 hours without proper rest, this lack of care was devastating. Inadequate Compensation: To add insult to injury, the refund offered for this severe disruption was a mere $14 credit, which is insulting. Because I refused to spend the night stranded at the airport, I was forced to scramble and purchase a last-minute ticket on another airline just to get home that day. Southwest's failure to take care of its passengers during a massive operational breakdown is completely unacceptable. Given how easily patrons were left stranded and struggling without support, I will no longer fly with Southwest Airlines. read more

Flew out of Denver with Southwest the other day and it was a decent experience. Boarding is now by groups, pre-boarding, military, A-List Preferred, and then groups 1-8. An earlier group ensures that the roller bags get a space in the locker above the seat. My plane was a recently refubished plane featuring the extra legroom seats along with the premium pistachio snacks. Wifi was useable and complimentary for Southwest members. The cabin crew did the trick. Flight left on time and got me to my destination on time. read more

Why do people have to poo-poo all over Southwest Airlines! I think they're awesome, their service is awesome, and their prices are awesome for the most part. There are some remodeled sections that are nice and vibrant and bright and it's a comfortable place to sit at your gate before a flight. The Denver hub is nice in the fact that all of the gates are in the same terminal. Some are at the opposite ends, so it can be a haul if you're connection so give yourself time or be ready to run. And Concourse C food options aren't the greatest either. The Denver Airport could be better as that train adds so much time to getting to your gate from Security, but that's not SW's fault. read more

Southwest Airlines - Studying Aviation today - Gin and Tonic as a sleep aid! - Airlines Near Me - Denver, Colorado

For decades, Southwest Airlines stood out as one of America's best-run airlines. Its success was built on a simple formula: low fares, friendly service, operational excellence, and a genuine focus on the customer. This strategy created remarkable loyalty and made Southwest one of the most admired and fun airlines in the industry. Today, the company appears to be moving in a very different direction. Following pressure from activist investors and changes in leadership with the CFO being promoted to the CEO, Southwest has embraced a more revenue-driven strategy focused on increasing shareholder returns. The introduction of checked-bag fees, paid seat selection, and other ancillary charges marks a significant departure from the business model that differentiated the airline for more than 50 years. Today, checking a bag can cost around $90 on some fares, and passengers often have to pay extra to secure a desirable seat. Without doing so, many will end up in a middle seat toward the back of the aircraft. I did on all my flights to SLC via Denver and Los Angeles. These initiatives may improve short-term cash flow and earnings, but they also risk weakening the customer loyalty that was once Southwest's greatest competitive advantage. In my case, i will avoid Southwest like the plague and i really fly a great deal. Over the past couple of years flights are systematically delayed, luggages are lost , agents at the gate have little authority to change things as the focus has shifted away from customers and operations. Profitability and shareholder value are essential goals for any public company. However, the strongest businesses create long-term shareholder value by first creating exceptional value for their customers. Time will tell whether Southwest's new strategy proves successful, but from a passenger's perspective, the airline has lost much of what once made it special. read more

Luckily, when flying Southwest from a different airport, I never have to worry about getting on the train to my next gate. I do always have a very long walk to my next gate I concourse C. My only issue is it always takes forever for boarding to start whether it be the gate agents having long. Conversations with on another, or having to wait on the flight crew to arrive. I've never once flew out on time in Denver. read more

Usually I don't have problems with SW. However they have been unreliable with on time departures. However when delays happens is a domino effect on subsequent trips. I understand stuff happens but come on.. everytime i fly in and out to Denver there's something. Since they changed their business model and became like the other main airlines...like no more free bags or open seating, their service has gone downhill. Almost every gate agent now asks for voluntary checked bags as they claim overhead bins are full. As I had a layover iMCO I was like ok I'll do it. I thought I was doing a good thing. I even asked the gate agent is there anything I need to do because I have a layover? No he says... it will meet you at BWI. The one time I dont put my apple tag is when they lose my luggage!! I arrive at BWI... it's 1 am. And everyone else got their bag except me.... They track my bag it's at MCO. My bag tag apparently fell off. The airport code tag fell off. Not cool. It took a day and a half to be reunited with my bag. However SW customer service agents over the phone were great. My bag was placed on the next flight out and they used like a courier company to deliver my bag to my house I did have the option to pick it u at the airport but it's too far. I 100% place blame on the baggage handlers at DEN. If you are voluntary doing a checked bag make sure you take pictures of your luggage, make sure the tags are secured and throw in an air tag. SW should limit the amount of carry-ons if they constantly need people to have their bag checked or lower their prices. SW did look out for me and issue a voucher for the inconvenience. read more

First time flying on Southwest for a work trip. MSP to DEN to OKC. We had a ground stop in Minneapolis because of winds in Denver. The crew was great at keeping people hydrated, fed with snacks and entertained. Like that they have assigned seats now and that was exactly why I never tried them before that. I would fly them again and would spend the money for the slightly better seats. read more

They are still using the old-style boarding method, and I love it. When you're an A+ plus, plus, premium boy, you like this just the way it is. We took off on time which was super early this morning The agent that checked us in the flight attendants, pilot well everybody was happy having a good time and took great care of us. Most importantly they delivered us safely. I guess the only other thing to add is the price was right. If those things go well on an airline you get five stars. read more

Italia checked my luggage in at the Denver Airport. She was very helpful and friendly. She had a lovely persona. The lady that also helped with our check-in was Jennifer. I would say this is my first review on an airline and it was a very positive experience... Thanks to Italia and Jennifer. read more

Still a happy customer and Rapid Rewards member. Despite the changes (slowly phasing in), flying Southwest is still my first choice (Rewards benefits alongside the Rapid Rewards Card still prove to be favorable). One recommendation I cannot stress enough is to download and use the Southwest app. It is very helpful, especially when schedules, along with any associated boarding times and gate changes occur. Don't miss out on these important updates because sometimes it is hard to hear these announcements at the airport (if they do announce). The Southwest app keeps everything organized and up to date (IRT). The pilots and flight attendants on our DEN to LAS trip were fun and funny and the gate agents positive attitude and humor made the boarding process efficient and stress free (this was the flight that experienced the schedule changes galore!) Job well done to the Southwest crew at DIA. read more

Very unhappy about it, I was in the first section of boarding in row three. When I got there a pilot that was deadheading was sitting in my seat. It was bad enough. I had to pull out my ticket to prove that he was sitting in my seat, but the flight attendant who is standing in the row behind him, talking to him, got in my face about it.. when they realized he was supposed to be in row two... I got no apology or excuse me for the rude behavior by either of them. At the end of the flight when everybody stands up, he forced himself past me to get his bag that he had put in the overhead behind my row. Incredibly rude customer service and very scary that a Southwest Airlines pilot can't count to two on getting the right row for where there's an empty seat. That's all I need to say about this flight. read more

Smh. The late flights. The inconvenience the attitudes and the customer service experience.

what a pleasant ride returning home serviced by Southwest Airlines. First time flying first class in group one, sitting in row one, on a aisle seat, which was the best of the best to me. Spacious leg room, didn't have to worry about any carryon baggage taking up any leg room. Sitting in first class gave the opportunity to exit first, which felt all presidential, and I appreciate that. The service was top tier from the lovely couple who were flawless stewardess. I wish I could fly with them every time I fly. They were excited to be returning home as well. They felt like family. Southwest benefits defiantly seems a bit better than United. As of now my flight has been delayed 4 hours (and it could be longer - who knows) because of "weather". We have had 3 gate changes and we have a long wait ahead of us still. Understandably, people are impatient and upset. Whether it's Southwest's fault or not is irrelevant to my review. I'm watching a woman named Sherri, at gate C55, interact with customers and she's rude and curt with everyone she talks to. No compassion for a weary traveler who just wants to get home. No patience for people who ask questions and no effort to help with any ounce of kindness. She is not the face that Southwest wants in the middle of this kind of situation. If you have gate changes and very long delays, whether it's your fault or not, be compassionate and kind!!! You're an employee and it's your job. So disappointing to see people be treated so rudely. read more

I always enjoyed my Southwest flights. They're (usually) pretty much on time, efficient, friendly, etc. I love their free baggage policy (one personal, one carry-on, one check-in). I am sad that check-in baggage are charged now. I am undecided yet about their new seat selection policy. That might change how early people line up and how efficiently they get people boarded per flight. Or it might not have any effect at all. That is yet to be seen. read more

The Customer Service is absolute garbage. My mother needed a wheelchair and I was going over seats with the operator. When I asked to speak to a Supervisor she just kept repeating herself to me and I politely said " I heard you already and I've already asked to speak to a supervisor on this recorded line" she barked back and said " you are disrespecting me so I'm disconnecting this call now" and she hung up on me after I had waited 55 minutes to get someone on the line. My round-trip flight from Vegas to Denver Colorado, flying Southwest, was great! My Southwest flight leaving Denver Colorado was flying out of Terminal C from the Denver Colorado Airport. Right now, there is a lot of construction on-going in the main terminal. Going through a security check-point to get to the Terminal C gates took about a full hour, including going through their terminal transit system. The C gate is the last gate from A and B. Southwest offers complimentary soft drinks, water, and coffee. They recently changed their snack offerings, too! Some of the snacks include pretzels and chocolate brittle! My flight was scheduled to leave around 6:10 P.M. on a Tuesday. Boarding was on time at 5:40. There were a lot of open seats on the flight to Vegas. The Southwest team had to rearrange some customers who sat in the front to other seats on the plane. This took a little bit of time, but we still arrived early in Vegas by 25 minutes! The flight was smooth with no bumps! read more

Southwest Airlines was so very good years ago. They did everything in their power to accommodate their loyal base of customers. That clearly is no longer the case. My wife and I are scheduled to fly out of Denver tomorrow. It would cost Southwest nothing to switch her seat from the flight to Chicago Midway from Denver International Air that leaves Denver at 8:35AM to my flight that leaves at 5:55AM. The current price is exactly the same. However the new and the opposite of improved SWA insists on milking a senior citizen couple for another $178 to make the switch. If they continue to refuse, I'll drive home to Lockport, IL then drive back to Chicago Midway Airport to collect my wife in the afternoon. It's nothing short of senior citizen abuse. Shame on SWA. When I called and could not get through to the very unpleasant "understanding" customer service agent, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I then received a call from a different agent, because supervisors don't talk to customers directly! Shamefully yours, John K. Peterson, Sr. read more

A 3-hour delay and lost luggage, incompetence all around. That's my experience with southwest airlines.

Never again. Flying back to Burbank from Denver today and the gentleman who weighed my checked bag said it was 3 lbs overweight. I would have to pay a $100 fee or remove some things from my suitcase and put it in my carry on. A long line of people waiting to check their bags watched as I opened my suitcase and one by one removed jackets, sweaters and put them on the baggage weight counter until it reached 3 lbs. Same bag flew from Burbank to Denver with the correct weight and nothing was added to it. Embarrassing and I've never experienced this before on any other airline .. Boooo Southwest! read more

I just had a terrible experience in a delayed flight going to Orange County. Was to leave at 8 now 9 pm. The plane coming from Miami was delayed and a lot from my flight got into that plane. I said to this Asian older man at the desk could I get a better seat. He looks. Slowly responds and than says it will cost you 44 dollars. I said I didn't have Wi fi because they had a problem on last plane and I paid for priority on last plane for a total of $400 one way. He said nope. I said okay. Walked away. I realized I didn't have a seat assigned. Said to this same man what is my seat. He says oh for you it will cost you one thousand dollars. I looked at him and said that isn't funny. I said it costs me a lot. I fly 12 times or more a year to take care of my mother in Boston from California and it is costly and exhausting. He said you don't have a sense of humor. Can Southwest let this ignorant man that it isn't funny. He has no idea ones finances mental health etc and to make fun of me and says I should be able to joke with him. I said that's not funny. I said you are actually mean. They need to fire him. He is rude insulting and a complete incompetent at reading clients standing in front of him. I love everyone I've met. This man. It's very rare I write reviews, but what I experienced with Southwest's new boarding process warrants a REALLY bad review. I've been flying Southwest for decades for business and my experience up until now has been nothing but exceptional. Not any longer!!!! They took a differentiating boarding process that has been working since Southwest's inception and RUINED it. I have A-list preferred status and normally board between a-15 and a-30 and never, in over 20 years, had issues with my bags being above or across from my seat. Now I select my seat assignment within the first 3 rows and can't get my bag anywhere within 10 rows behind me. Defeats the whole point of preferred status and I was around the 70th person to board the plane. I don't know what executives were thinking making this terrible change. They need to be fired!!! Southwest has been preparing for this change for over a year and could have modeled the new boarding process to address these issues. The fact that executive management executed such a poor change to their company is a huge indicator of Southwest taking giant step backwards. Unfortunately I can't support a company that makes such poor decisions and will no longer be a customer. Sad day for a frequent traveler and very loyal Southwest customer. Shame on you Southwest!!! read more
